Chapter 26, Undercover

Tank examined the photos and other information pinned to the corkboard. Stephanie moved to his side, attempting to see what image captivated his attention. "Little one, is that who I think it is?" he asked.

"Wow, Jen, who is this guy?" Stephanie said as she pointed to a man resembling Ranger.

"You are familiar with Jack Turner. The man is Sander's right-hand man. He is one of the few that keeps slipping out of our grasp," Jen told her.

"Turner entered our house, posing as Ranger. He scared the pants off Stephanie and me," Tank said.

"Could he still be in Trenton?" Stephanie wondered.

"Any chance you can find out?" Jen asked.

Tank replied, "Yes," as he dialled a number. "Hey, Hector, do me a favor. See if Jack Turner is still in Trenton. If he is, locate him. I am sending you a picture right now." Tank lifted his chin in Jen's direction, silently requesting she send it to Rangeman.

Jen faxed the picture. "Crap," Hector said when the photo appeared on the machine. "Wait a minute, is Ranger with you?" Hector asked.

"Yeah, the boss is with Little one and me. I guess that Jack Turner is posing as Ranger and is working at Rangeman," Tank told Hector.

"Well, he is in Rangeman. We threw him in a cell after we caught him breaking into Ranger's Penthouse. He also attempted to access the Red room. You know that it requires facial recognition, which goes through the command room computer. When his facial print got denied, we grabbed him to toss into a cell. He is not going anywhere," Hector stated.

"Thanks," Tank replied and hung up.

"Well, Jack Turner is in a cell at Rangeman. Apparently, he posed as Ranger and tried to get into the Red room. Our team found out who he is, and he is spending time in a cell at Rangeman as we speak," Tank explained to the team.

"What is the Red room?" Jen asked

"It is a room where Rangeman stores evidence for our clients. It uses facial recognition that gets scanned by a computer located in our command room. Only Tank and I, along with a couple of other trusted employees, have access to that room," Ranger told her.

"Sanders was a client of Rangeman up until five months two and a half weeks ago. He closed his account the day after Stephanie and I finished our undercover work. He called me the day after we returned to Trenton and pulled his account from Rangeman," Tank told everyone.

"What if there is something in that room that Sanders wants?" Stephanie asked the room as she thought out loud.

"Damn! You are still as smart as ever," Jen said as she smiled at Stephanie. "Are you sure your Business Administration degree was the right major?" Jen added loud enough for everyone to hear.

"One of us has to return to Rangeman." Tank said as he saw another familiar man in a photo.

"Little one, look," Tank said as he pointed to a white man with a beard and blue eyes.

"What?" Jen asked, moving closer to the photograph in front of Tank and Stephanie.

"That guy right there was the man who followed us all night while we were in New York," Tank explained.

"Hugh, what the hell?" Jen asked. She was not impressed when she recognized the man.

"What, Jen?" Hugh asked as he approached the board.

"He is one of ours and is supposed to be in critical condition at the hospital. Why was he following the both of you?" Jen wondered.

"Jen, I hate to say this, could there be a chance he is part of the Sanders Crew working for or getting threatened by Sanders?" Stephanie asked her. Her spidey sense indicated she was on the right track.

"I hate to think that, but you could be right. That could be why the Sanders Crew is always one step ahead of us," Jen said.

Jen and Stephanie looked at everyone in the room.
