The top of Ace Class launched a special gathering once more. A girl rubs her face with the edge of her pencil rubber. She raised her hand. "Asano-kun. On question number 3-"

"Yes, you need to look at the axis as x equal a. You see, this will make the problem easier to solve", the boy with the strawberry blonde hair said. He speaks in more maths terminology.

At the other side of the room, Sakakibara holds a girl. "How much better to travel a mile with you than to travel a thousand miles in a day". She giggled at his words.

"What kind of grammar is this?" Seo said. He slams the book on the desk. "Think this will get you to Harvard? MIT? Yale? Wrong. If you step foot in LA, you'll be a laughing stock". The boy he criticised cower in fear.

"The effects of an Earthquake", Araki mused. "The important thing is to look at the size of the social impact. If you can't see that, you're as good as an outsider to society".

"Look, boy, middle school and high school science is all about memorization", Koyama said. He holds his clipped notes. "MnO₂ + 4 HCL → MnCL₂ + 2H₂O + CL₂. Repeat after me".

The boy taught by Araki gulped. The boy taught by Koyama strained his voice as he repeated the words. The special lesson by the Five Virtuosos goes without a hitch. When the bell rings, the group of students run. They go to after school lessons while the Five Virtuosos stayed in class.

"We're sorry for yesterday, Asano-kun", Seo sighed.

"Yeah, those kids are annoying. They're talking back to us as if they have a chance", Koyama groaned.

"One of them is pretty though", Sakakibara mused.

"Please reconsider your choice of girls, Ren", Araki groaned.

"Don't worry. You know how we do it in the Ace Class", Asano said. He pulls out his laptop. A contract of 50 following clauses to be signed by the losers. "No one can win against absolute power".

Karma yawned. He had his yellow maths book on his head. Koro-sensei's clones circle him. "Karma-kun. Please. Wake up. You have the potential to get all of the best marks".

"Don't worry, Koro-sensei. Your teaching skill is top notch. I'll ace it", Karma leaned on his chair. "But Koro-sensei, this talk of best mark this and top score that, you're starting to sound boring like a normal teacher".

Koro-sensei's clones disappeared. Manami looks at the direction of the wind. She gulped. The real Koro-sensei stopped at Karma's desk, frozen.

"So what would be your plan, Koro-sensei?" Karma mused. "They've given us a bet. They might as well have something up their sleeves".

"Don't worry, Karma", Okajima said. "We're the End Class. What do we have to lose?"

"If we win, I really want us to have the cafeteria", Kurahashi chimed.

"For the prize, I think we've got it covered", Koro-sensei said. He shimmied to the front of the class. He holds a blue book. "What if we ask them for this?"

"What?" Nakamura said. "The school pamphlet?"

Koro-sensei flips the page. "You have all been through the worst. So how about you experience being at the top for a change?"

The class gasped. They looked at each other.

"At the finals, you will have a healthy battle between classes. As an assassin, you should set your aim for the top, make it your target and pin it down".

The class cheered, all hands up in the air.

"This is much better than the school cafeteria", Kurahashi chimed.

She and the other classmates talked about plans and study sessions. Nagisa tries to motivate an exhausted Nakamura while Kayano looks fondly at them. Everyone else is busy with the talk of the prize and studying. Manami holds up her yellow book, ready to ask for ways on solving the area of a sphere.

When she looks back, Karma's desk has already been emptied.

Manami's breakfast is spent as usual. Her family doesn't talk much. Her parents took at least two to three sips of miso soup, never four. A quiet morning is far better for starting a serious conversation.

"Mum. Dad", Manami said, her right hand holding the spoon. "Today is the Finals. I will do my best in achieving the best score".

Her mum and dad placed their cutleries on the table.

"Yes", her mum said. "Dear, drive me to my company this morning".

"C-certainly, dear", her father said. Before she could say another word, her parents left their apartment. At the empty table, there is only a girl with braids, who hung her head low and gripped her spoon tighter.

Her phone in the pockets of her blazer vibrates. She picks it up.

Koro-sensei: Good luck on the test, Okuda-san. I know you can do it

Complete with an octopus emoji. Manami smiled. She sniffs. Walking to the sink, she placed the pile of plates and cutleries together. That morning, Manami may have just made it to the Guinness record for the fastest dish cleaning.

Character profile (by Manami):

Asano Gakushuu

The ace of Class A. The principal's son.

Sakakibara Ren

Good at Japanese literature and is the person who makes Japanese literature looks like the worst subject. Is a bother to Kanzaki-san.

Seo Tomoya

Good at English. Bothered and bullied Maehara before. Nakamura-san and Nagisa-kun have a plan on how to face him in the Finals.

Araki Teppei

Good at Social Studies. Is the person who asked us to leave the library.

Koyama Natsuhiko

Good at Science. According to Terasaka-kun, he's the Head of the Biology club. I'll show him that looking down on others isn't the only way to act face to face.

Happy birthday, Chiba-kun on the 20th May! (Sorry I've only uploaded it yesterday on my blog cos I was confused over giving him the architect theme or the sniper theme)
