Chapter 30 Undercover

"Wait, did you just say Sanders?" Eric asked.

"Yeah, why do you know something about him?" Jen wondered.

"Eric, if you know something, you need to tell us," Tank said.

"If it is the Sanders that I am thinking of, is he the one that used to sell me the stuff when I was using?" Eric asked. They couldn't answer his question without visual aids.

Jen showed a picture of Sanders. "Yeah, that is him, and I would love to help you take him down," Eric told everyone after confirming the identity of his dealer.

"Okay, give me an hour. I will make a couple of calls," Jen said.

'I know who you are calling. I can get him faster than you can," Tank said.

"Do you really have to call him? He scares the shit out of me," Eric told Tank.

"Who is it that scares you?" Jen asked Eric.

"My Boss," Tank said as he got on the phone to call Ranger.

"Tank, what is going on?" Ranger asked.

" Well, my brother is safe, and he wants to help us get Sanders. It turns out that Sanders was one of my brother's dealers back in the day. He wants to help." Tank told his boss.

"Okay, it works for me, but you know what you have to do, Tank?" Ranger asked, subtly reminding him of his promise.

'Yeah, I can't have anything to do with this," Tank told him.

"Bingo and tell Eric he will make it to the other side," Ranger told him and then was gone.

"Okay, Ranger, gave the okay. Let's finish this, so Stephanie and I can start preparing for the baby," Tank told everyone.

They walked up to the solarium. "Wow, I have the wrong job," Eric said.

"Okay, call him," Tank said as he handed a Rangeman phone to his brother.

Eric entered the number he had memorized many years earlier. "Hey there, Eric. I hope you are calling because you changed your mind," Sanders told him. Sanders didn't like to hear the word no.

"Yeah, I did. I want back in. I will sell it for you," Eric said.

"Okay, good to know. We will meet at the Museum of Fine Arts. I will give you some stuff, so you can start selling. Meet me in one hour," Sanders said and hung up.

Eric gave the phone back to Tank. "Let's finish this," Tank said.

Tank looked at Stephanie. "Pierre, you heard what Ranger said. You can't be in the field," Stephanie reminded him, then added, "You can't be anywhere near this case."

"You're right, but that does not mean I can't help get him prepared," Tank told his wife.

"Okay, if they find any camera or gun, you will be in trouble. So here, take this," Tank handed him one of his shirts. Eric took off his shirt, and he put on his brother's.

"Okay, that shirt is a little big on him, Tank,'' his wife said, wondering what Tank was hoping to accomplish.

"That is the idea," Tank took a mini camera and put it in the pocket hole.

"That is a camera," Eric stated.

"Yeah, it is," Tank said. "Here, this is a mini stun gun." Tank handed him the small gun. It wouldn't take down a man the size of Tank, but it would give enough of a jolt for Eric to escape.

"Yeah, I remember," Eric said. Stephanie was amazed how Eric concealed the items in Tank's large shirt.

"Okay, try to stay clean. If he offers you drugs to test, you can tell him that it is against your parole. Or that your job does drug tests." Tank told him.

"I would not be lying. My boss runs weekly drug tests," Eric said as he looked at his baby brother.

Forty-five minutes later, Eric was at the Museum of Fine arts, waiting for Sanders. Eric saw him enter. "Hey, Sanders, it is good seeing you again," Eric said as though greeting an old friend.

"Yeah, been a while, so you want a job?" Sanders asked him.

"Yeah. I could use some extra money," Eric told him.

"All right, this should be enough to start you off."

Sanders handed him the parcel of coke. "That is 5 kilos,"

Eric said.

"Yeah, you sell that and then bring the money back to me. Maybe there could be more after that." Eric moved towards the painting on the wall that Sanders was appreciating.

Jen and the Rangeman team entered the museum. "FBI. Hands above your head, Sanders," Jen ordered.

"I will be out by tonight," Sanders told her. He was confident his friend would bond him out before too long.

"Not this time," Jen said as she put the cuffs on him.

The Rangeman team, Morelli and Butters exited the building as they followed Jen with her criminal.

Tank watched the monitors in the Solarium with Stephanie. "It is over Tank," Stephanie said. She was relieved Sanders was in Federal custody.

"We still have one thing left," Tank said.

"This one," they said at the same time. Tank and Stephanie placed a hand on her baby bump to touch their unborn child.

Epilog

Four months later, at Trenton Memorial Hospital.

"Come on, little one, one more push," Tank said.

"I can't, Tank," Stephanie cried as sweat ran down her temples.

"Yes, you can. I am right here, just one more. Come on, you can do it," he said.

A few minutes later, Tank's firstborn son was born. "Congrats, you two have a boy," the doctor announced. He asked Tank if he wanted to cut the cord.

Tank accepted the scissors and cut the cord between the two clamps as directed. "Do you have any idea how long we have been waiting for you?" Tank asked. He held his son for the first time and then gave him to Stephanie. Tank gently laid his son on Stephanie's chest.

She stroked her handsome son's face and said, "Tank, he is here because we were Undercover." Tank kissed his wife to thank her for their son.

About an hour later, someone knocked on Stephanie's hospital room door. Tank opened it. "Jen," he said to Stephanie.

"Hey, you two, or should I say, you three," Jen said.

"Is the case closed?" Stephanie asked. She had waited months for an update.

"We got Sanders. He admitted to everything. The drugs, killing Ben, and the injuries of the FBI agent. We arrested the retired FBI agent for taking bribes and forging evidence," Jen said.

"And?" Stephanie asked, prodding Jen for more information.

"Ranger offered me a job to work at Rangemen in the office. He wants me to work with the equipment and technological stuff. I receive full benefits. I can make my own hours to give me more time with the kids. They are excited and can't wait. It is a new start for the three of us. I also get to be closer to you guys," Jen told them.

"Good for you, Jen. You will do great there," Tank said as he sat down next to his wife.

"What did you name him?" Jen asked.

"Thomas Sherman," Stephanie said as she held her son.
