Miroku set his staff down and sat on the sofa. "Right about what?"

InuYasha didn't answer his friend right away. His mind was still a mess. "You're going to have to kill me. I can't risk my youkai half doing that to her. Miroku, I've never felt so scared in my life. If my youkai would ra… rap…"

"Rape her? Yes I know, it would destroy you. I know your heart isn't evil, InuYasha. And I know you're honest. You forget sometimes I know everything about you. I know your father's blood is too strong for you. I know your mother was human and you hate that she died while you were only a child. And I know you care about this woman Kagome. She is a good person and I wouldn't mind asking her on a date or two. But it's not me she is interested in."

InuYasha stood and came face to face with Miroku. He was angry and for so many reasons he didn't know which to point out first. "Dammit Miroku, you stay the hell away from her. It's bad enough Naraku, the wolf pup and my youkai want her. I will not have your perverted hands wanting to touch her too! We are here to destroy the jewel and that's it. I really want this to be the one time we win this fight."

"Of course, InuYasha. Still there is desire in your voice when you speak of her. And the gold in your eyes flashes more purely. I do feel there is a love there, but it's for what you had and you hate that. This woman isn't Kikyo and you feel this time you might fall in love again and be cursed in the same way. But I see no harm in being friends with her. She needs that at least, you both do."

InuYasha stood back and thought about Miroku's words. Kagome did deserve friends at least. And there was no harm in being friends. Right? "I don't trust myself around her, Miroku. The crimson moon is soon coming. And now that Naraku knows she's here he'll surely try something soon." With this being said, InuYasha turned and went to cool off in the shower.

After InuYasha left, Miroku released the deep breath he was holding in. Things were getting more complicated now. Miroku started thinking about what InuYasha had said. 'For years I have held the answer to this mess.' Reaching into his shirt, Miroku pulled the death sutra out. 'However I don't want to kill you InuYasha, just destroy the jewel. I know your death isn't what your father wanted. The jewel is what we need to destroy, so you will be able to keep living, InuYasha.'

As InuYasha undressed and got into the shower, he growled and grumbled to himself. He didn't bother turning on the hot water, only cold. He was beyond pissed. 'God damn people and their damn interests. Why can't they just forget the damn jewel? Now I have a damn wolf after the stupid thing.' And the girl has the nerve to think I'd take an interest in her? I bet she thinks just because she wants me that I'd want her.

The cold water ran over his long silver hair, his ears were slightly lowered to keep some of the water out. His mind raced and once again his youkai stirred. What's wrong, human? Can't get the image of yourself raping that girl out of your head? Don't worry it won't be you doing it, after all it's me that wants the jewel. And honestly I doubt I'll have anything to fuck after I shred her to pieces. I want the jewel first after all."

"You shut the hell up you monster! Someday soon I'll make sure you don't rule me. I'm sick of you coming and going whenever you feel like it. And for what? A stupid jewel that will devour your soul, you know it will be the jewel that controls you. Although maybe you'll know how it feels to be controlled for once." His youkai said nothing and InuYasha continued to let the water run over him. 'I need to end this mess. My life has no meaning, but Kagome's does.'

Kagome finished her meal and cleaned up the dishes. After she ate, Kagome took some time and set up her little office at home. Her little place was coming together very nicely. She was grateful to have her Internet set up again. She liked being able to work from home too. She had a few building plans she wanted to look over before tomorrow's meeting with her new boss. Once she finished she headed for a bath. Kagome filled the tub and sank down to her chin. Her hair was in a bun so it wouldn't get wet. As she set there she started to think about him.

"I wonder what he actually thinks about me? Does he hate me or does he like me at least a little?" She asked herself, before her mind went to her dream about him. Kagome closed her eyes and imagined his strong hands gliding over her body. She wondered how it would actually feel as he kissed her all over. She couldn't resist it any longer and started to let her own hands slide over her naked wet body.
