A/N: After a long time I'm finally a little free to write again. I hope to get this story finished soon and share more with you all.

Toga turned to Miroku, a deep hurt was on his heart. "You know he will do as he pleases, my words will do little to stop him at this point." At that moment Toga sensed something which made him smile. "I can tell he has summoned the Tessaiga. That is a good sign, but it's only a small part. Has he used it properly, Miroku?"

Miroku shook his head 'no'. "I'm sorry my king, he has not found his true self with the sword yet. Though he keeps resisting his feelings of love for the woman at hand." Toga nodded, he understood, and looked up at Miroku's staff. Seeing the staff made Toga realize that his son was serious about ending his life prematurely. Seeing the look on Toga's face concerned Miroku. "You do know I would never allow him to die in such a way. However I felt maybe seeing you once more would trigger something in him."

Toga turned and began to walk away, a bright light surrounded him as he spoke. "I agree Miroku, but the dead can not walk in this world for very long. I must go and watch from afar again. It is only your strong powers that allowed me to see him once more. I thank you good monk Miroku for taking such good care of my son."

Miroku bowed as Toga vanished in the light. "He is my dearest friend and I only wish him happiness. I will continue to do my best for your son, my good king." With nothing more to do, Miroku too left the area and headed to his room. He would pray for his dear friend and Kagome. For it was the only power he knew that had a chance to save his friend's life.

As InuYasha landed on the ground below, he noticed Kagome seemed very quiet. She didn't even want to look at him it seemed. There was a peaceful place he often went to get away from the city life. So with her still bridal style in his arms he walked. "Do you...hate me now, Kagome?" InuYasha asked, as he walked. His voice was low and sounded broken.

Kagome kept her eyes looking away from him as she answered. "No I don't hate you, but at the same time I am very angry at you."

"I see." InuYasha said, his voice still low and broken. He didn't ask anymore questions as he walked. He figured once they were at his special spot he would discuss matters there. Though there was one problem. No human could track him, but any youkai with a strong nose could easily sniff him and her out. So once he made it to the small opening at the cave, he placed the Tessaiga into the ground. "The sword will be a barrier while we're here. I don't need any unwelcome guests right now."

Gently he left Kagome down and moved to sit in a corner. He didn't want her to feel she needed to be close to him. "So where should I start?" InuYasha asked, he sounded even more broken now.

Kagome turned and looked out of the cave. "Maybe by saying you're sorry." InuYasha growled at her words. Hearing him growling only angered Kagome more though. "So is that your answer to everything? If someone says something that you don't like, you just growl about it?"

Kagome was moving closer to the entrance of the cave and just before she walked out he grabbed her by the arm. "Hold it right there wench, just where the hell do you think you're going?!"

Kagome tried to pull away from his grip, but he held on tight. "Just leave me alone InuYasha, you want to die and me as well. What kind of person would I be, to want to be around you anymore?"

For some reason her words cut him deep. And without a reason he pulled her towards him and crushed her lips to his. Kagome's eyes went wide, before she relaxed into the kiss and left them close. Slowly InuYasha parted from the kiss, he looked angrily at her. And yet it only took a second for it to all leave him.

"I-InuYasha?" Kagome softly questioned.

He lowered his head and began to talk. "I tried, I tried for so long and so hard not to let my heart love again. But now I can't anymore, I have fallen so deeply in love with you." Tears came to Kagome as she listened to InuYasha confess his love to her. "I'm so scared though, I didn't want to love someone again and I didn't want them to love me.

I knew I couldn't live after the jewel was destroyed. And because of this I didn't want the one I loved to go on without me here. It wouldn't be fair to you Kagome, so I figured why keep trying. I wanted to end the suffering, to stop the killing, even if it meant for me to die. And yet here we are both in love with each other. And now I feel so lost, either I will die along with the jewel or you will die and the jewel will be reborn." InuYasha carefully took her hands in his and closed his eyes. "I didn't want either of us to suffer, but it can't be helped I guess."

Kagome was silent for a moment, taking everything in that he just said. Her voice was quiet as she spoke. "InuYasha, in life we never know when our lives will come to an end. Even if there wasn't a jewel inside me or a curse. Either one of us could die before the other. I could die in a car accident and you might be killed by something stronger than you."

InuYasha listened as Kagome spoke, everything she said made sense to him. Still he didn't want to lose her, no matter what the reason. "I get what you're saying Kagome, but I still don't want to lose being with you. I want….I just want to live and be happy with the one I love. And not worry about losing them before I get that chance."

Kagome felt her tears returning, she never knew his feelings for her were this strong. "I know how you feel InuYasha, still it doesn't mean we can't enjoy the time we do have together. And now that we've come this far, you know there's no going back. Let's just enjoy this time right now, it's better than feeling completely miserable." Kagome said, while looking deep into his golden eyes.

InuYasha lowered his head and tried to not let his emotions take over, but it was hopeless. His clawed hands found their way into her raven locks, and gently he tilted her head back. "I do love you Kagome, but I'm afraid."

Kagome smiled and before she claimed his lips said. "Don't be I'm here now, let's take this one day at a time. I want to be with you and I know you feel the same."

InuYasha and Kagome shared a long, deep and very passionate kiss. Both of their bodies reacting to the passion. However it was InuYasha who stopped the next events from happening. His breathing was labored from the intense kissing, as well as Kagome's. "It's not time yet, we can't let our bodies talk before our hearts." Kagome nodded, she understood. "Come I'll take you back home."

As he picked her up bridal style, Kagome lovingly wrapped her arms around his neck. She nuzzled her nose into his shoulder and whispered. "Can you stay with me tonight? I don't want you to leave my side just yet."

InuYasha slightly smiled and kissed her forehead. "Of course I'll stay, I feel better too when you're in my arms. At least I know you're safe." Kagome couldn't help but smile and sigh happily, after all this time maybe now she would be able to finally sleep.
