She saved his life.
Fred took all the heart-shaped perfumes and put them on a shelf. It was a new idea for Valentines, a special line only available in February. The violet glass was sparkling in the dim light in the shop.
He looked at them and he immediately saw this purple heart-shaped necklace in front of his eyes.
Heart, which saved his life after the war.
He wasn't badly injured during the battle of Hogwarts, but enough to have a slight concussion. As a result, he lost his memory and was able to remember only parts and bits of the past.
It was hard to exist in a world made of great unknowns, of familiar and unfamiliar faces and of emotions, he couldn't deal with. He was lost like a baby, feeling useless for all his siblings and especially George.
All May and June he was sitting in the front of their shops and trying to figure out what he can do to regain memory.
Healers were unsure if that was possible, but they were saying there always was a slight chance. So Fred was trying, looking at all the pictures George brought for him, but his mind was blank and foggy.
Until she showed up.
In her yellow flower dress, long blonde hair and daydreaming face. She had this purple necklace he could swear, remembered from somewhere. From the past.
Luna gave him herbal medicines and implied it would work. It didn't, but more than her remedies, she was a bright light herself. Before he knew it, he totally fell in love with her. And so did she.
Fred didn't regain his memory, but he built his memories with Luna. He created his future. And although it was hard not to remember, he just let it go.
He had everything at his fingertips - his family, his friends and Luna. Luna, with whom he created a new family past summer. Their wedding was quiet, but beautiful. Their wedding vows were unusual, because they decided to use the ancient ritual and use old magic.
"Fred?" He heard her voice before she appeared next to smiled at her and kissed her forehead.
"Yes, Love?" He said with a slight smirk and she tilted her head, her eyes were beaming and she looked excited.
"I need to tell you something."
She took his hand into hers and put it on her stomach. Fred swallowed, his pupils were wide as he said, shocked.
"Luna… are you saying…" His voice broke, when she nodded. He hugged her and felt his heart was racing in his chest. "That's amazing, Love, that's…"
"We are going to be parents, Fred." Luna grinned and she knew he was moved.
Everything panned out well and he was grateful for it. Every single day.
And out of ashes comes a flame
