Chapter 33: Journey's End… or Beginning?

Within the vault, Davros smugly ordered,

"Activate the holding cells."

Spotlights shined down on the Doctor and Rose, who both simultaneously glared at the man as he said,

"Excellent. Even when powerless, a Time Lord is best contained."

The Doctor gave a sadistic grin as he hissed out, "Still scared of me, then?"

Davros rolled up to him as he said, "It is time we talked, Doctor. After so very long."

The Doctor shook his head, responding with, "No, no, no, no, no. We're not doing the nostalgia tour. I want to know what's happening right here, right now, because the Supreme Dalek said Vault, yeah? As in dungeon, cellar, prison. You're not in charge of the Daleks, are you? They've got you locked away down in the basement like, what, a servant? Slave? Court jester?"

Davros gritted his teeth before unwillingly admitted with, "We have an arrangement."

The Doctor smiled even more bitterly as he said,

"No, no, no, no, no. No, I've got the word. You're the Dalek's pet!"

Rose was bewildered by the anger that was depicted by the Doctor, no longer sure that she recognized the fun-loving man whilst Davros turned to her, causing her to look at him with fear as he said,

"So very full of fire, is he not. And to think you crossed entire universes, striding parallel to parallel to find him again."

The Doctor's hearts jolted at that as he hissed out, "Leave her alone."

Davros glanced at him before saying, "She is mine to do as I please."

Rose then asked, "Then why am I still alive?"

Davros sighed as he said, "You must be here. It was foretold. Even the Supereme Dalek would not dare to contradict the prophecies of Dalek Caan."

That's when all three of them heard the mentioned creature speak up with an ominous statement,

"So cold and dark. Fire is coming. The endless flames."

The Doctor was trying to hold onto his emotions as he felt something flicker through the bond that he shared with Iris, when Rose asked him,

"What is that thing?"

He answered her, "You've met before. The last of the Cult of Skaro. But it flew into the Time War, unprotected."

Davros interjected with, "Caan did more than that. He saw time. Its infinite complexity and majesty, raging through his mind. And he saw you. Both of you."

Caan spoke up with his prophesy as he said, "This I have foreseen, in the wild, and the wind. The Doctor will be here as witness, at the end of everything. The Doctor, his flower, and his precious Children of Time. And one of them will die."

The Doctor's eyes showed anger as he said, "Was it you, Caan? Did you kill Donna and Iris? Why did the TARDIS door close?"

When there was no response, the Doctor yelled out in pain and anger, "Tell me!"

Rose flinched at his anguish, not knowing that this was the level of devastation the man could feel at the loss of a companion. Was this why he had hesitated to take her on when they had first met? But before she could comfort him, Davros said,

"Oh, that's it. The anger, the fire, the rage of a Time Lord who butchered millions. There he is. Why so shy? Show your companion. Show her your true self. Dalek Caan has promised me that too."

At that, Dalek Caan laughed, almost maniacally as he said,

"I have seen. At the time of ending, the Doctor's soul will be revealed."

Rose and the Doctor simultaneously frowned, causing the man to ask, "What does that mean?"

Davros chuckled as he commented, "We will discovere it together. Our final journey. Because the ending approaches. The testing begins."

The Doctor asked with horror, "Testing of what?"

But he was even more shocked at Davros' words: "The Reality bomb."

Meanwhile in the TARDIS, the new Doctor and Donna tensed up as they sensed something. The metacrisis Doctor went to the screen and said, "It's the planets. The 27 planets."

Donna walked up as she watched the planets lined up as the man continued saying,

"Single string Z-neutrinos compressed. No way."

But when something occurred, Donna asked in horror, "What was it? Doctor, what did it do?"

The Doctor didn't answer her and started to go gather various materials to build something, leaving her alone in the console room with an unconscious Iris. With a sigh, Donna walked over to the other woman and said,

"I wish you were awake. You would have been able to do something about this scenario."

But no answer or response was given and Donna looked at the woman, who was still unconscious. That was when Donna noticed Iris' fingers slightly twitch. Donna sighed in relief, since that was a strong indicator that the woman was about to wake. With that, she waited by Iris's side, hoping that she would awake soon.

By the time the metacrisis Doctor re-entered the console room, Iris had not awoken, and Donna looked at the things in his hands as she asked,

"So what is this thing?"

The Doctor grunted out as he was finishing up his work, "It's our only hope. A Z-neutrino biological inversion catalyzer."

Donna hit him lightly on the arm as she huffed out "Yeah. Earth girl, remember?"

The Doctor ignored her as he said,

"Davros said he built those Daleks out of himself. His genetic code runs through the entire race. If I can use this to lock the Crucible's transmission onto Davros himself."

Donna quieted, fearing for herself as she asked, "It destroys the Daleks?"

She slightly shivered at the terrifying aura he exuded as he answered with, "Biggest backfire in history."

With that, the Doctor rose to start driving the TARDIS properly back into the Vault. Donna walked over to Iris, who groaned a little. Donna held onto her, making sure that the woman did not fall or hurt herself with the Doctor's infamous reckless driving.

And when the TARDIS parked itself, the metacrisis Doctor picked the gizmo again as he bolted out with a yell,

"Ready? Maximum power!"

Donna heard Jack yell out, "Brilliant"

From where she was and then the original Doctor's fearful yell of "Don't!"

Donna hesitated slightly, and then whispered to Iris hurriedly,

"Stay right here! I can't let you get hurt."

With that, Donna ran out and grabbed the gizmo when she got the grasp of the situation. She panicked as she said,

"Doctor! I've got it. But I don't know what to do!"

But before the Doctor could say anything, Davros zapped Donna, sending her flying backwards. And all of the Doctor's former companions watched in horror as the gizmo dropped to the ground whilst the woman had landed on the ground, seemingly unconscious. The Doctor and Jack both glanced towards the entrance of the TARDIS, but nobody else came out, making them worry about Iris even that much more.

The Doctor yelled out in concern, "Donna! Donna! Are you all right, Donna?"

But Donna did not respond and what everyone heard was Davros' voice ring out with, "Destroy the weapon."

And then he turned to face the Time Lord as he said, "I was wrong about your warriors, Doctor. They are pathetic."

But Rose was standing still in the beam with shock written in her features as she asked aloud,

"How comes there are two of you?"

The Doctor responded with, "Human biological metacrisis. Never mind that. How we've got no way of stopping the Reality Bomb."

Jack glanced back at the TARDIS, hoping that Iris would show up. And yet, however long he waited, there was no other entrance and he could not help but have a feeling of dread weigh down his heart. Had something happened to Iris to prevent her from being involved? What had happened while she was trapped in the TARDIS without him?

As he was thinking this, all the companions were feeling a sense of dread as Davros said,

"Stand witness, Time Lord. Stand witness, humans. Your strategies have failed, your weapons are useless. And… oh… the end of the universe has come."

Everyone breathed in unsteadily as they heard a dalek in the distance start counting down. They were ready to feel the guilt and overwhelming sense of despair hit in when an alarm sounded and a woman's voice ring out with a hint of smugness,

"Mmm, closing all Z-neutrino relay loops using an internalized synchronous back-feed reversal loop. That button there?"

The Doctor gaped at her in surprise as he exclaimed, "Donna, you can't even change a plug!"

That was when everyone heard another feminine voice ring out with,

"Do you want to bet, Time Boy?"

Jack yelled out in happiness, "Iris!"

Martha smiled and cheered with a "Yes!"

Rose looked at Jack in surprise as she saw the raw emotion and his eyes tear up slightly as they showed immense relief from the woman's appearance.

During this time, Davros grit his teeth and screamed, "You'll suffer for this."

Iris walked over to Donna as the woman lifted a lever, causing Davro's electricity to zap himself instead of them. He exclaimed in pain as Iris smirked and explained with,

"It's the bio-electric dampening field,"

And Donna continued the sentence with, "with a retrograde field arc inversion."

Rose couldn't believe what she was hearing and Jack just chuckled with relief. But that didn't last long as everyone heard all the Daleks start to rush over upon Davros's command of,

"Exterminate them!"

The Daleks repeated the order and both Iris and Donna rapidly worked on the controls. Jack shifted his body weight back and forth rapidly as he was still trapped in the beam. Iris smiled widely as she then high-fived Donna and said,

"Take that!"

They all watched in wonder as the Daleks dropped their guns involuntarily and said in shock,

"Weapons non-functional."

Donna happily chirped out, "Whoa. Macrotransmission of a K-filter wavelength blocking Dalek weaponry in a self-replicating energy blindfold matrix."

The two Doctors glanced between Iris and Donna as the original one commented,

"How did she work that out? She's…"

The New Doctor groaned out with, "Time Lord. Part Time Lord."

Rose raised an eyebrow at the new Doctor's sass while Donna proudly gleamed,

"Part Time Lady and Part human. Oh, yes. That was a three-way biological metacrisis. Third Doctor, Third Iris, and Third Donna."

The original Doctor muttered out, "The Doctor Donna Iris. Just like the Ood said, remember? They saw it coming. The Doctor Donna Iris."

Iris cut in with a, "Sorry to interrupt, but holding cells deactivated. And seal the Vault."

Everyone jolted forward, feeling their body become free to move around after a long while. They were frozen from the shock of the entire situation that Donna rolled her eyes from her newfound impatience as she yelled out,

"Well, don't just stand there, you skinny boys in suits. Get to work!"

Immediately, the Doctor and his metacrisis self ran up to the platform that Iris and Donna were working at. Jack started to run towards the TARDIS while everyone else huddled together to make sure to stay clear of Daleks when Davros screamed out,

"Stop them! Get them away from the controls!"

Donna scoffed at that and just playfully said, "And… spin."

With that, she twisted the knob, causing Iris to laugh out loud in glee at the sight when they all heard a Dalek yelled out, "Hel me. Help me!"

Donna nodded to Iris, who then continued with, "And… the other way."

The Doctor shook his head at Iris' and Donna's antics as the metacrisis Doctor asked,

"What did you do?"

Iris answered it with, "We trip switched the circuit breaker in the psychokinetic threshold manipulator."

The New Doctor looked at her and Donna with amazement as he exclaimed,

"But that's brilliant!"

The Doctor couldn't hold back saying, "Why did we never think of that?"

Donna chuckled and continued to type as she said,

"Because you two were just Time Lords, you dumbos, lacking that little bit of human like me and Iris here. That gut instinct that comes hand in hand with Planet Earth. We can think of ideas you two couldn't dream of in a million years. Ah, the universe has been waiting for me."

Iris cleared her throat to signal the need to hurry on, and Donna shook her head in amusement as she said,

"Now, let's send that trip switch all over the ship."

With that, she paused and wiggled her fingers dramatically as she bragged,

"Did I ever tell you, best temp in Chiswick? Hundred words per minute?"

Iris cheered with, "Our superwoman!"

Donna laughed in glee as she started typing rapidly while the metacrisis Doctor yelled out in glee. With that, everyone started working rapidly on the controls and Iris said,

"Ok, everyone. We've got 27 planets to send home."

All four people paused and looked at each other as Donna said, "Activate magnetron."

They started working again whilst Davros yelled out in anger, "Stop this at once!"

That was when Iris glanced over to find Jack running out of the TARDIS with two big guns that both of them had brought earlier. The 51st century man tossed the gun and Davros tried to roll over to them intimidatingly as he yelled,

"You will desist!"

But it was all useless as Mickey smirked and pointed his gun at Davros, smugly threatening him with,

"Just stay where you are, mister."

Jack then scooched over as he said, "Out of the way."

Rose and Martha watched in amusement as the man pushed a spinning Dalek down a corrider. Sarah then rushed over to help Rose with another approaching Dalek. Both women pushed it over as well, Sarah yelling in joy,

"Good to see you again!"

Rose smiled brightly as she responded with, "Oh, you too!"

Donna then looked at the three Time Lords, and said, "Ready?"

Iris nodded along with the Doctors, which led to Donna leading them with, "And reverse."

All of them then started pulling out pairs of rods, causing the planets to disappear and reappear in their rightful locations one by one.

"Iris muttered, "Goodbye Clom."

The metacrisis Doctor followed it up with, "Back home, Adipose three."

The Doctor then proudly said, "Off you go, Shallacatop."

Donna added, "Pyrovillia and the Lost Moon of Poosh. Sorted. Ha!"

The metacrisis Doctor followed with the same exclamation, when the Doctor said, "We need more power!"

Iris answered him immediately with, "I'm working on that."

The Doctor nodded. As that had been happening all the companions had walked over to the control panel except Mickey, who continued to point his gun at Davros. Rose looked curiously at Iris as she asked

"Is anyone going to tell us what's going on?"

Donna happily chirped in,

"He poured all his regeneration energy into his spare hand. I touched the hand, then Iris touched me, and he grew out of that but that fed back into me. But, it just stayed dormant in my head till the synapses got that little extra spark, kicking them into life. Thank you, Davros! Part human, part Time Lord. And I got the best bit of the Doctor and Iris. I got his mind and her heart."

Sarah looked at all of them as she asked, "So there's three of you… and two of her?"

Sarah looked towards Iris, thinking that she looked familiar from somewhere. Rose hesitantly asked,

"Three Doctors?"

Jack looked at Iris with a knowing look as he said, "I can't tell you what I'm thinking right now. But I think Iris knows already."

Iris rolled her eyes as she said, "Donna is special and unique since the timelines were converging on her. Human being with a Time Lord brain, to a safe extent."

That was when the Doctor slightly tensed and looked at Iris curiously, as if he was trying to figure her out as he asked her through their bond,

"What did you do?"

Iris looked at him and said, "Later. Focus on this task first."

The Doctor looked at her for a moment, before nodding and continuing on his work. Rose had caught this and frowned, not sure what was going on between them when Jack explained to her,

"She's a Time Lady… by special circumstance. He saved her by making a bond with her. They're able to talk to each other telepathically."

Rose felt jealousy flare angrily and tried to hide that from her facial features. Sarah noticed this, however, but did not say anything. Nobody had been paying attention to Davros until he piped up with a tone full of betrayal and anger,

"But you promised me, Dalek Caan. Why did you not foresee this?"

That was when Iris glared at the man and said,

"He did. Something's been manipulating the timelines for ages."

And the Doctor joined in with, "And that something has been getting Donna Noble to the right place at the right time."

Caan giggled maniacally as he said, "This would always have happened. I only helped, Doctor."

Marthat and Rose both looked at the Dalek in horror, both remembering how dead set on destroying humanity the Dalek had previously been. It had been so inevitably warped by its own attempt at survival that Dalek Caan's attitude changed to the point of driving him to helping the Doctor at the cost of several people's lives.

Davros hissed out, unable to still move due to Mickey's gun, "You betrayed the Daleks."

Donna noticed the cold gaze Iris gave Davros and how she flinched slightly as Dalek Caan said,

"I saw the Daleks. What we have done, throughout time and space, I saw the truth of us, Creator, and I decreed, no more!"

Iris glanced at the Doctor, trying to glean how he was feeling through their bond at those last two words, but the man retained a cool demeanor. And when something started to descend upon them, Jack yelled out,

"Heads up!"

Everyone looked towards the source as a Red Dalek came and said,

"Davros, you have betrayed us."

Davros looked fearful as he exclaimed, "It was Dalek Caan."

Mickey looked hestitant, but Jack held the man back as the Red Dalek came closer and said,

"The Vault will be purged. You will all be exterminated."

With that, the control panel zapped, making Jack move as he said,

"Like I was saying, feel this!"

Iris saw her boyfriend move towards the Dalek, and fired an extended pulse from his gun, causing the Dalek to explode. Iris looked at the Dalek with mixed feelings, but still smiled at Jack, hoping to hide her feelings. Despite this, the Doctor noticed this and tried to get out of the situation by saying,

"Oh, we've lost the magnetron. And there's only one planet left. Oh, guess which one. But we can use the TARDIS."

Iris finally smiled brightly and started to push everyone in. Jack gave her a hesitant glance which was copied by Martha and Donna, but she shoved them in as the metacrisis Doctor started to say,

"Holding Earth stability. Maintaining atmosphereic shell."

Iris came up to him and whispered, "You should go in."

The new Doctor glanced down at her, not saying anything when Caan stated,

"The prophecy must complete."

Davros looked towards them and fearfully said, "Don't listen to him."

Iris tensed as Caan said,

"I have seen the end of everything Dalek, and you must make it happen, Doctor, and Zagreus."

Iris tensed at that as the New Doctor said, "He's wrong. Iris does not need to be part of this. But… he's right in some ways because with or without a Reality bomb, this Dalek Empire's big enough to slaughter the cosmos. They've got to be stopped."

Donna had heard this before heading inside, and rushed out, pleading,

"Just… just wait for the Doctor."

Iris shook her head and said, "You're not doing this alone. You know you can't mess with the timelines."

The metacrisis Doctor looked at her sadly and said, "It's not your responsibility. And anyways, I am the Doctor and I was Zagreus."

With that, he started to do what fate had indicated and all Iris could do was watch with anguish, now realizing that part of her had gotten into him as well as he said,

"Maximizing Dalekanium power feeds. Blasting them back!"

With that, Iris had enough and shoved Donna into the TARDIS and followed inside quickly, as the Daleks started to explode around them. The Doctor looked up in shock and ran back outside, whispering,

"What have you done?"

And the metacrisis looked at him with a cold look that reminded the Doctor of his past selves, as the man said,

"Fulfilling the prophecy."

The Doctor angrily dragged his metacrisis self into the TARDIS as he yelled out,

"Do you know what you've done? Now get in the TARDIS!"

Iris looked at the Doctor apologetically and the Time Lord could feel her guilt, but he comforted her, only feeling guilty himself. It didn't help them much when the metacrisis Doctor changed his attitude quite quickly, reminding both of them of the 9th regeneration. The Doctor paused before looking up at Iris. She knew what he was asking. He wanted to save Davros, but wanted to make sure she was fine with it. Iris merely nodded, looking grim, and that did not go unnoticed by Jack and Donna.

Jack assumed what was going on while Donna knew what they were conversing about. But Iris sighed, knowing the full outcome. Donna watched as the Doctor said to Davors,

"Davros? Come with me. I promise I can save you."

Davros shook his head angrily, as he screamed,

"Never forget, Doctor, you did this. I name you. Forever, you are the Destroyer of the Worlds!"

Iris winced at that and quickly tried to comfort her fellow Time Lord through their bond while Rose was busy staring at the metacrisis Doctor as he was positioning each of them around the console of the TARDIS.

The Doctor regretfully close the doors to the TARDIS and pulled them out of the Crucible quickly. Everyone held onto the console tightly upon feeling the impact from the explosion. Once the TARDIS stopped shaking, Sarah shakily asked,

"But what about the Earth? It's stuck in the wrong part of space."

Iris smiled a little as she said, "Not necessarily. Torchwood is still open and receiving."

Gwen rolled her eyes at the knowing tone Iris had said that in, and responded with, "Loud and clear."

Tosh shoved her way in as she asked, "Is Jack there?"

The Doctor chuckled and joked, "Can't get rid of him."

Then the Doctor looked over to Rose, motioning her over to the screen. Rose gasped at the familiar looking woman, as the Time Lord said,

"Rose, meet Gwen Cooper. And now, tell me, Gwen Cooper, are you from an old Cardiff family?"

Gwen nodded, suddenly wondering why he was asking her this as she said,

"Yes, all the way back to the 1800s."

Iris smirked as the Doctor said, "Ah, thought so. Spatial genetic multiplicity."

Rose looked at him like she still did not understand the terms as she drawled out, "Oh, yeah."

The Doctor then patted her shoulder as he looked back at the Torchwood team and said,

"Yeah, it's a funny old world now. Now, Torchwood. I want you to open up that Rift Manipulator. Send all that power to me."

Owen looked over at Ianto, who immediately nodded and said, "Doing it now, sir."

Donna looked over and asked, "What's that for?"

The Doctor answered with, "It's a tow rope."

That was when he turned to Sarah Jane Smith, who was watching everything happen fondly. She quickly looked at him when he had turned towards her, as he said,

"Now then. Sarah, what was your son's name?"

Sarah smiled and said, "Luke. He's called Luke. And the computer's called Mister Smith."

Iris was quickly typing onto the console as she chirped up, "Calling Luke and Mister Smith!"

The Doctor walked over to the screen again and said, "This is the Doctor. Come on, Luke. Shake a leg."

Luke immediately smiled, his eyes growing bright upon the sight of the Time Lord as he asked,

"Is Mum there?"

Sarah approached the screen as the Doctor said, "Oh, she's fine and dandy."

When Sarah finally saw her son on the screen, she yelled out, "Yes! Yes!"

Iris smiled at that, and said,

"Mister Smith, could you harness the Rift power and loop it around the TARDIS for us?"

Jack smiled and hugged her from behind as the computer said,

"I regret I will need remote access to the TARDIS base code numerals."

The Doctor's smile faded as he said, "Oh, blimey, that's going to take a while."

But Sarah interjected with a smile as she said, "No, no, no. Let me."

With that, she got closer to the screen and said, "K9, out you come."

Iris' eyes widened at the adorable dog's voice as K9 said, "Affirmative, Mistress."

The Doctor's eyes showed the adoration he had for the robotic dog as he said, "Oh! Oh ho! Oh, good dog!"

Mickey playfully glared at Rose, who had elbowed him with humor in her eyes. The Doctor saw this and shook his head with amusement, before saying,

"K9, give Mister Smith the base code."

K9's voice rang out with pride as he said, "Master. TARDIS base code now being transferred. The process is simple."

Jack chuckled, making Iris smile a bit more as the Time Lord then proceeded to move and help everyone around the console control something to help drive the TARDIS. Iris rolled her eyes as the Doctor approached Jackie and said,

"No, Jackie. No, no. Not you. Don't touch anything. Just stand back."

Iris grunted and smacked his head and said, "Rude!"

And with that, Rose saw the dynamic between the Time Lord and Time Lady, not being able to deny that they were more like friends than anything else. She smiled as the Time Lady tried to explain a simple task of pressing a button to Jackie. But as the questions kept coming, Rose laughed out loud as the Doctor had to drag Iris away from the woman, eventually telling the older Tyler woman to sit down on the captain's chair in the corner.

By the time they dropped Earth off in its proper place, everyone cheered and started hugging each other. Jack kept an arm around Iris, rubbing comforting circles with his thumb. Iris just smiled up at him before giving him a gentle peck on his lips. Jack blushed a little at Sarah Jane Smith's teasing glint and Martha's wiggling eyebrows. Mickey's mouth dropped to the floor at the sight of Jack blushing and couldn't help but tease him first thing.

Sarah then came up to the Doctor, as she said,

"You know, you act like such a lonely man. But look at you. You've got the biggest family on Earth."

The Doctor looked at her appreciatively before giving his companion a hug. But Sarah jumped as she said,

"Oh! Got to go. He's only 14. It's a long story. And thank you!"

With that Sarah ran off outside, waving goodbye to everyone and hugging Iris, wishing her good luck with the Time Lord, and asking her to watch over him since he wasn't alone anymore as he had former proclaimed.

Iris nodded and watched the woman walk off in a hurry to meet her son. With that, she turned around to find Donna calling home and Mickey say to Jackie,

"I'm going to miss you more than anyone."

Jackie frowned and hesitantly glanced over at Iris, who was watching the interaction as she asked him,

"What do you mean? The Doctor's going to take us home, isn't he?"

Mickey hesitated as he answered with, "Well, that's the point. I'm not going back with you guys."

Iris sighed as she walked over to Jack, who immediately hugged her and said, "You alright?"

Iris nodded and said, "Yeah, earlier, it was quite a jolt to my system, but I think I'm fine. It was more one way than anything else."

Jack chuckled and said to her, "It wouldn't be too bad if the Doctor passed something along to you."

Iris blushed as she hissed out, "Are you making an innuendo? I don't think I'm getting it. Please don't do it in public."

Jack wiggled his eyebrows, but didn't comment on that. As they were interacting, the metacrisis Doctor parked them in a different location and the original Doctor came up and sonicked Jack's vortex manipulator, scolding them both with,

"I told you, no teleport."

Both individuals shrugged while Martha came up to them, making the Doctor smile and tell her,

"And Martha, get rid of that Osterhagen thing, eh? Save the world one more time."

Martha smiled and nodded as she said, "Consider it done."

All three of them saluted the man, causing the Time Lord to return it. With that, they started walking out, as Jack said to Martha,

"You know, I'm not sure about UNIT these days. Maybe there's smoething else you could be doing?"

But before they could take a few more steps, Donna yelled out, "Iris! Iris wait!"

Iris turned and saw Donna running up to them as the woman said, "I was thinking about it, and thought, well, since you helped save my brain from frying by putting some specific knowledge in my head, I could work for Torchwood or something? Just as a temp. You know, nothing too difficult."

Iris' eyes widened at that and she glanced over to Jack, who just chuckled and said, "Well, we'd love to have you. But what caused that thought?"

Donna shrugged and said, "I would travel a little bit more with the Doctor, but I would like to do something on Earth. Really, do something good for it while not going so far away from family again."

Martha smiled warmly, understanding what the woman said, and elbowed Jack slightly, causing him to say,

"Well then Ms. Noble, welcome aboard ship Torchwood."

Donna smiled at that and said, "Well, I'll be going home for a bit. Could you let me know when I have to start?"

Iris shifted her feet slightly as she thought on that and then said, "When you're ready, come to Cardiff and give us a call."

Donna nodded before walking back into the TARDIS. As she did, Mickey stepped out, and Iris smiled and yelled out,

"Oi, Mr. Smith, we've been waiting for you!"

Mickey jolted in shock, not quite knowing how to respond to the woman, as the Doctor asked him curiously,

"Where are you going?"

Mickey smiled sadly as he said,

"Well, I'm not stupid. I can work out what happens next. And hey, I had a good time in that parallel world, but my gran passed away. Nice and peaceful. She spent her last years living in a mansion. There's nothing there for me now, certainly not Rose."

The Doctor glanced over at Iris, who nodded slightly, as he asked,

"What will you do?"

Mickey shrugged and said, "Anything. Brand new life. Just you watch. See you, boss."

With that, he ran after the trio that started to fast walk away as a prank, causing the Time Lord to chuckle at their antics as Mickey stated, "Hey, you three!"

Jack groaned and said, "Oh. Thought I'd got rid of you."

Mickey looked offended at that statement, when Jack smiled mischievously before grabbing Martha and Iris' hands and yelled out, "Run!"

Mickey watched in shock as the trio ran away from him, laughing and giggling like little children, before running after them with,

"Jack Harkness! You come back right here!"

Iris smiled as her two hearts beat with joy, forgetting the vision that she had come across not too long ago as she ran with Jack, Donna being alive, and Mickey and Martha becoming happier by the second as they resumed to life on Earth. A not so normal life, but a happy one.
