I do not own Battlestar Galactica or Stargate, nor am I profiting from this story

United Nations, New York City, Earth

It had been 10 years since the Stargate program had been revealed to the people of Earth, quite by accident. On New years Eve, the cloaking device on Atlantis had failed revealing a giant city ship in San Francisco bay. The press soon descended upon the massive city ship and the secret was out.

President Hayes held a press conference the next day with all the world leaders whose nations were part of the IOA. He explained the entire history of the Stargate program and the current status of Earth's fleet of 8 BC 304's (4 American and 1 each for Russia, China, France and the UK).

In the following months it was agreed to transfer all off world civilian authority from the IOA to the United Nations. Military authority would remain with Home world Command. The UN Security Council would have authority over Home World Command, with the United States having sole veto authority.

Scientists from dozens of nations descending upon Atlantis. Within 2 months they had discovered the industrial area of Atlantis, hidden within the bowels of the city. There was a shipyard entered from underneath the city capable of housing or building one ship the size of an Aurora class vessel. It could also house up to 3 BC 304's.

The industrial area also included a ZPM construction and charging area, a Stargate construction facility, a construction facility with matter synthesizers and an area for maintaining and producing puddle jumpers. A Finally, there was a large machine that manufactures the alteran drone weapons.

Teams of scientists were assigned to Atlantis to reverse engineer these technologies. Additional teams were assigned to the Asgard data core and researching Dr. McKay's project to extract zero point energy directly from subspace, termed a zero point reactor or ZPR.

Colonel Samantha Carter was pleased by the completed upgrades of the George Hammond. The ship was black with the most advanced naquada based Asgard armor. The flight pods had been expanded with a lower deck for maintaining the ship's F-302s. The Hammond now carried a full squadron of 24. The F-302s are the latest model, 302C, which had shields, a rapid firing pulse version of the Asgard plasma beam, carried 6 alteran drones and had an interstellar hyperdrive capable of reaching 100 light years per hour.

The Hammond also carries 6 of the mark 2 jumpers, upgraded with a shield/cloak toggle control and a hyperdrive identical to the F-302. The Hammond has a ZPM to power it's shields and weapons. It also has 2 neutrino ion reactors, one to power propulsion and the other to power all other systems. With this added power, the Hammond now had a life support system that could handle an increased crew of 600 and would allow the 650 m long ship to take on an additional 5000 people, if necessary.

The Hammond's computer system had been completely upgraded to an Alteran system, no more wires mixed with crystals. The power grid had also been upgraded allowing 3 times the power to the 4 powerful Asgard plasma beams. The ship also added an Alteran particle beam similar to those used in the lantean defense satellites.

The rail guns had been replaced by 28 rapid firing pulse versions of the plasma beams similar to the fighter version but more powerful, though substantially less powerful than the main beam weapons. The missiles had also been replaced by an Alteran drone weapon system, stocked with 500 drones. The Hammond also had a machine that can manufacturer drones to replace the entire stock in about an hour.

Samantha Carter walked into the offices of Home World Command located in the UN in New York City to receive her last assignment as commander of the Hammond. After this 3 month patrol she would be promoted to General and take command of the new Battleship, Saratoga and her battle group.

A middle aged secretary sitting at the reception desk looked up and stated "good morning Colonel Carter, General O'Neill is expecting you."

"Thank you Janet" replied Carter. As she entered Jack's office, Carter greeted Jack. "Good morning sir, I'm here for my patrol assignment." O'Neill looked up and smiled, "Carter! how are you doing these days? Is the general's ship treating you well?"

"Yes sir, the Hammond will have all it's shiny new toys installed by tomorrow and I'm excited to see the improvements in space. " General O'Neill laughed, "I bet you are. However, I have what should be an ordinary patrol for you, sector 31. Only one protected planet treaty member and one small scientific outpost on a small boring planet. We don't even have any sgc missions planed for that sector during your patrol. Should be rather boring. "

Carter frowned and took the orders from General O'Neill. "Thank you, sir."
