The following day, Emma had agreed to meet her parents, Regina and Captain Hook, at Granny's Diner before it opened. It was mainly to discuss what they had found the previous day. They had found a cell in the Wicked Witch's basement that looked like it had contained Mr Gold, but they had seen him die a year ago. Or did they?

Granny let Emma in through the door and then returned to her cooking. "If you want privacy, talk fast," she told the group. "We open in 20, and no one gets between Leroy and his bacon."

"Is there any sign of our quarry?" Hook asked. However, he didn't know what to think, hearing that his enemy had died and hearing that he may be alive again. He did want his revenge. But, he also wanted to be trusted. To put his past behind him. He had been locked up in cages for too long. He didn't want to be locked up again.

"I went all over that farmhouse and the land around it," Emma answered. "Nothing."

"Well, now that the sun's up, we should hit every place Gold might go," David said. "His house, shop, his cabin."

"Cause dead men love vacation homes," Emma said. "Can someone explain to me how this is even possible? We all saw Gold." She took a glance at Hook. "Most of us … He …."

"He disappeared into nothingness. I know," Mary Margaret finished.

"Back in the Enchanted Forest, the people heard tales of getting back the Dark One," Hook stated. "I, however, didn't take much notice of it."

"If that was a plan, it must have worked," Emma stated.

"With all due respect," Regina interrupted, "we have bigger issues right now than who brought Gold back. The fact that he was in the Wicked Witch's basement, for one. I wanna know what the hell she was cooking up with him."

"Well, the best way to find that out would be to ask Gold, right?" Mary Margaret suggested.

"He could tell us who the Witch is, maybe how to track her down," David added.

Regina stood up from her seat. "I'm going to head back to that farmhouse. It's possible this witch left behind some trace of potion or special ingredient."

"Have at it," Emma said. "Just be careful."

Regina nodded. "Well, she's the one who needs to be careful. She invaded my space. And when I return the favour, I'm not pulling any punches."

Zelena had found out that Mr Gold was missing from his cage, too, and she took the Dark One dagger that she carried with her to the ridge of the Storybrooke mountains. She stood at the bank's edge, overlooking the small, idyllic town.

Taking a deep breath, she outstretched the arm that had the dagger. "I summon thee, Dark One," she said. But nothing happened. She grew frustrated. "Rumplestiltskin!" But nothing happened,

and she sighed. "It's not working," she muttered. "The Dark One has broken free, and he knows far too much."

A flying monkey landed behind her and screeched. Zelena turned around. "Find him, beautiful one," she ordered. "Find him now."
