Emma and David helped build a crib together in their loft the next day while Mary Margaret relaxed in an armchair. However, both David and Emma looked at the pieces of the wood on the floor and then back at the instruction manual, but they were confused about what they had to do.

"I've seen enemy battle plans that were easier to decode than this," David said, reading over the instruction manual.

"let me see," Emma said as she took the manual from her father. "All right, it says, 'Take screws E with washers D through bar C using wrench F,' which is …" Emma looked down at the pile again, moving objects around. ".. Not provided."

"Do you want me just to call Marco?" Mary Margaret asked. "He's good at this sort of thing. "No!" David said, while at the same time Emma said, "No! We're fine!"

"Should we be doing this?" Mary Margaret then asked. "Ever since the showdown between Regina and the Wicked Witch, we haven't seen Zelena. Shouldn't we be focusing on her next move?"

"We are," Emma said. "We just can't stop living."

David picked up a piece of wood. "Yeah. And this crib is a statement. We're not going to lose another baby."

"You won't," Regina said, opening and closing the door to the loft. "Gold made it clear she didn't want your baby. Not if she can't get to Ellie, anyway." She walked over to the table, putting two ingredients back into an open box. "But, if she can't get to her, she won't be able to take your baby, either. I'm finished."

David stood up. "So, did it work? Were you able to put up a new protection spell?"

Regina began to take her red leather gloves off. "One that can't be undone by blood magic. Which means Zelena won't be able to come in here."

"Any idea why she wants a baby?" Mary Margaret asked.

"The number of spells involving baby parts would surprise you," Regina stated. "But, considering she wants a baby Time Lord, her plans aren't that simple. But as long as we're here, we're safe."

"That's useless," Emma said. "I think we need to stop playing defence and start taking the fight to her."

"Did you not see how I barely outwitted her yesterday?" Regina asked. "She has magic. Powerful magic."

"I have magic too. You've seen me use it. I need to control it. But if we teamed up … If you taught me …."

"Now, why does this feel so familiar?" "I'm ready this time."

Regina let out a laugh. "Okay. But if we do this, we do this my way. This isn't drinking sale coffee at a stakeout or whatever you did as a bail bondsperson," she said, getting up and pushing her chair into the table. Regina placed her hand on the silver and black box to keep her magic ingredients inside. "This is a way of life. You have to commit to it fully."

"Not a problem," Emma stated.

Grabbing the box in her hands, Regina took another look at Emma. "Meet me in my vault in one hour," She said, exiting the loft.

Once Regina left, Emma took a look at her parents. She glanced at both of them. "I'm doing this. It's the only way. And, yes … I will be careful," she said, and she got up from her spot on the floor.

"We know," Mary Margaret told her daughter.

"And don't worry, we'll watch henry when he gets back from the store," David said. Emma looked at David. "I'm not sure that's the best idea," she told him.

"What?" Mary Margaret asked. "What is it?"

Emma looked at both of them again. She wondered how to say it without hurting their feelings. "Well, you guys are tired. You need to rest."

"I'm pregnant. I'm not sick with the flu."

"Yeah, I know … It's just, um … Well, it's … 'cradle cap'. You overwhelmed him with baby tips the last time you guys had him. He's 12. He doesn't want to talk about pregnancies. It's not fun."

"Oh, we're fun."

"I'm just saying that maybe Henry disagrees."

"No!" Mary Margaret said as she looked over at her husband.

"He'll get there. You gotta remember he doesn't know who you are." "Well, if we're not fun, who is?" David asked.

Captain Hook was standing on the Storybrooke Docks. His back was to the town, and he looked over at the ocean in deep thought. He was in such a deep thought as he didn't hear Mr Smee approach him.

"Captain Hook," Smee called out as he approached his captain and friend. "Captain?"

Hook turned to his first mate. "It's about time, Mr Smee. You know how much I loathe waiting. What is it that's so urgent?"

"It's just me, and the men were talking about how we haven't seen much of you since we all ended up back here," Smee said as he and Hook started walking back along the deck together.

"Is there a point to that rather odd observation?"

"what's keeping us from crewing up again? Hitting the high seas, getting back to pirating?"

Hook stopped. "You mean, other than being attacked and turned into flying monkeys? Have you forgotten that there's no safe passage out of this town? You've already been a rodent, Mr Smee. Does like as a simian interest you as well?"

But Smee wouldn't let up. "Of course, there's a safe passage. We could outrun them." "Not with that torso of yours."

"If we had a fast-enough ship. The Jolly Roger, for instance. You still haven't told me whether you found her during the time none of us can remember."

"What happened during that time isn't important," Hook said. Or anyone else to know about. "Because you remember. Is our ship okay? What happened to it?"

"My ship," Hood corrected. "And all you need to know, Mr Smee, is that the Jolly Roger isn't here. So there will be no outrunning of anything."

"I mean, what if we found another ship? Any one of these…."

"Mr Smee," Hook interrupted, "I've tried letting you down easy. Now let me be more direct. I have no intention of leaving this town."

"Captain, I agree with you. This place does have its bright spots. I have never tried anything quite like frozen yoghurt before. But the Wicked Witch is here. What possible reason do you have to stay with that sort of danger?"

Hook turned his head, and he saw Emma and Henry approach them. He leaned closer to Smee. "My reasons are my own. Question them again at your peril," he warned.

Smee backed away. "Sir," he acknowledged before he walked away. Just when Emma had approached the pirate captain now.

Emma looked at Smee, who was now at the entrance to the docks. "Didn't he used to be a rat?" she asked Hook.

"Aye. In many ways, he still is. To what do I owe the pleasure, Swan?" "I, um … I wondered if you could take care of Henry again."

"If you want to get close to me, you have to ask. There's no need to use the lad as an excuse."

Emma sighed. "Why am I not surprised you're making this about you? I need your help because Regina needs to train me in magic. We think together we might be able to defeat the Wicked Witch."

"That's the first reasonable plan I've heard since this all began. Magic is part of you, Swan. Don't forget. I was there when Cora tried to steal your heart. I saw the power inside of you. It's time you embraced it. It's what makes you the Saviour."

"I'm not embracing anything. I need to learn magic to defeat Zelena and ensure everyone here is safe. After that, I'm done."

"Done with what, exactly?"

Emma turned back to look at Henry, playing on his phone. "He doesn't belong here. Not anymore. He belongs in the real world. In New York. In the life that he remembers. It was good. And it didn't involve vile villains."

"What about the life that you remember? You can't just pretend like this never happened. Trust me. I spent the last year trying to do just that. Return to the person I used to be, and it didn't work. Maybe that time I was confined to that cage did me good. Exactly what I needed. To show me what I wanted. Take it from me. Just this once. No matter how much you wish you could go back to your old life, you can't."
