The next day, Regina was in her mansion, getting ready for a date with Robin. She looked at herself in the mirror as she put on her earrings before the doorbell rang. She stopped, and she looked at the door. She wondered who it could be.

She went over to it and opened it. But there was no one there. She stepped out and looked down, revealing a covered basket. She removed the towel and saw a pile of Granny Smith apples. She sighed. She knew who was at her door. Zelena.

She picked up the basket and went back inside to see Zelena stand behind her.

"A gift," Zelena said, raising a wine glass in her hand.

Regina shut the door, placing the basket on a table. "From sister to sister," Zelena continued.

"What are you doing here?" Regina asked.

"I saw your tree, and I thought you could use something better. Red apples are so sickly sweet, don't you think? People tend to like something a little sharper."

"And green apples are just bitter," Regina said, seeing Zelena pick up an ornament off a table. "That's not yours."

Zelena scoffed, placing it back down. "Story of my life."

"Why are you here?"

"Oh, sisterly concern. Sisterly advice. I wanted to make sure you were all right after our little showdown," Zelena explained, looking around as she walked into the living room.

Regina followed. "I'm fine. Are you?"

"Getting there. Wow. This is nice. So luxurious," Zelena said, sitting down on one of the sofas. "You don't appreciate what you have, do you?"

Regina stared at Zelena from her spot in the doorway. Her arms crossed. "Right, because I got everything, and you have nothing. If you want your superpower to be envy, go right ahead."

"Envy's just another word for 'ambition'." "Well, that's just not true."

"See, I strive for things. I work. You?" Zelena scoffed. "You cast a curse that was just a fancy form of running away. With every advantage, you still turn your back on every opportunity for happiness." Zelena stood up from her seat on the white couch. "You, Regina, you don't take risks. You don't live your life. It's just such a waste." She went over to the fireplace and took a small figurine of a horse. "I can see why our mother was so disappointed in you." She put it back on the mantle after looking at it.

"Disappointed in me?" Regina asked. "She gave you away."

"You have no idea what happened. That's exactly what's going to hurt you."

Regina laughed. "You didn't come here to give me sisterly advice. So why are you here?"

"So perceptive. Regina, I'm here because I wanted to tell you that I found it," Zelena said.

Regina stared at her. "What?" she murmured as she started to approach her.

Zelena took out a cloth bag and pulled out a heart. Regina's heart. "I managed to take what I needed. Did you feel it? Me taking your heart. I don't know why you trusted some thief to look after it. He was more than happy to give it to me," Zelena cackled.

Regina turned behind her and grabbed the letter opener sitting on the table behind her. She threw it at Zelena. But she missed her as Zelena had disappeared in a puff of green smoke.

Regina visited Robin at his camp with his Merry Men to discover what had happened with Zelena and how she stole Regina's heart from him before heading into Mr Gold's shop. She marched in and began looking on the shelves and cupboards for anything that might be able to help her. She didn't care what it was, but as long as she could use it to fight her sister.

A few minutes into searching, she grew more desperate, and she clattered and dropped objects as she searched. She peered through books lying on the shelves before making them fall with a thud on the floor. She sighed. "This is all useless crap!" she shouted.

Mr Gold appeared from the back room. "Not to mention, dearie, they're all my possessions," he told her. Regina stopped and turned. She looked at Mr Gold as he stood there by his counter, his hands resting in front of him. "We're closed."

Regina sighed. "I need help to destroy my sister," she told him. "She has my heart."

Mr Gold nodded slowly. So, Zelena finally found a way to get Regina's heart. "And you want to know what she want's with it?" he asked. "Well, I'm sorry, dearie, but that takes time. Trying to match the ingredients that Zelena wants for her spell. But, no such luck. It keeps taking me to darker magic. Whatever your sister is planning requires the darkest of magic. That much is certain."

"But what is so special about my heart?" Regina asked, and then her eyes lit up in thought. "The candle." She snapped her fingers and went over to a cupboard to her left. Mr Gold followed her. "Where's the candle?"

"Which candle are you talking about?" Mr Gold asked. "We have many here."

"The two-sided candle that you made Snow use to kill my mother. Where's that one?"

Mr Gold moved to a cupboard and opened it. "The power it once had is gone," he told her. "It only had enough magic to take one life for another. It's just a relic." He took it out and showed it to Regina.

"Yes. That's it," she said, taking it. "You should know that with the right spell, this isn't about how my mother died. It's about how she lived."

"Summoning ghosts, is that all?" Mr Gold asked. "And how do you know Cora will tell you what you seek to know?"

"I promise you, she will tell me."
