This is the 2nd chapter. I figured that some of you don't like, mainly because you don't want me to finish his work. Well, I said I'm going to and that's what I'll do. Also, there's no sense of stopping me because I'm just stubborn and I won't stop until the story is concluded.

So, as for Mario's Element, I can't use Love which it won't sit well for me and it's already taken. Bravery is already taken by LogantheJet (which he made my day of his story by the way) which it won't sit well for me, either. I could use some help by which Element that'll fit him.

Also, I'm still working on the other story like 'Straw Hats Dragoon', the story based on the anime series of One Piece (my all time favorite) and I'm planning to make a third and final volume of the crossover story called 'Queen's Vampire Hunter', a crossover story between Queen's Blade and Castlevania. I'm still waiting for the fifth season of Highschool DxD since it's been delayed because of the COVID and I still got time for making another, but if it did show up, I'm gonna have to watch it first before I continue to do the story that's been on hold for a long while called 'DxD: Warrior of l'Cie', it's another crossover story between Highschool DxD and Final Fantasy 13.

And as for the boy, it'll have to wait for the future chapters, just be patient.

I down own the series of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Friendship is Magic: Part 1

It all begins with a book sitting on a grassy field, a brown book with a various golden symbols along the spine. A symbol of a golden unicorn with turquoise eye is perched along the center. It is here the book opens itself to a single page containing four words. And it is where it all began...

Once upon a time, in a magical land of Equestria...

The scene shifts to the magical land of Equestria as the clouds roll to the side, revealing its landscape. A castle sat perched along the mountains and where a waterfall fell to the surface below. Overlooking this castle was a city perched along a set of clouds, a rainbow streaming to several sides. Below these structures, there was a village with several streams of river flowing across. Equestria, a wonderous world inhabited by ponies.

There were two regal sisters who ruled together and created harmony for all the land.

The two figures were unlike any equine creatures; they were called alicorns. They resembled the size of a horse, they had feathered wings on their backs, a spiral horn protruding from their foreheads. Whereas the first alicorn on the left has white fur coat with a pink mane, tail, and wings while the second alicorn on the right has a dark blueish fur coat with sky blue mane, tail, and wings. Thus, they're the most powerful race in all of Equestria, rulers and protectors of this world.

To do this, the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn; the younger brought out the moon to begin the night. Thus, the two sisters maintained the balance for their kingdom and their subjects, all the different types of ponies.

A display of their power has shown, the elder alicorn used her magic to raise the sun to single the start of a new day, helping the crops to grow, and provide warmth during the spring season. And at night, the younger alicorn used her magic to raise the moon to signal the end of the day, even to help the ocean rise on occasions. Though the difference in terms of how they used their magic, these two alicorn sisters represented the Yin and Yang of this land. For every day, there must always be night just as after every night there comes a moment to pave way to the dawn. And it's been like this for generations to come...But the cycle won't last for long...

But as time went on, the younger sister became resentful. The ponies relished and played in the day her elder sister brought but shunned and slept through her beautiful night.'

Apparently, the younger alicorn looked down upon her subjects, noticed the difference that day and night brought upon her subjects. Every pony seemed busy during the day, harvesting the crops, managing their daily business, or playing together out in the fields. But when the night came, the moon in full view and the stars illuminating the night sky, they would lay there in either their homes or outside. Seeing this happen for a long period of time which it not only made the younger alicorn sad...It infuriates her.

One fateful day, the younger unicorn refused to lower the moon to make way for the dawn.

On that day, the land was still dark and the subjects were afraid they'd never see the light of day. It causes a confrontation between the two sisters, the two rulers they looked up to for their guidance and leadership. The elder sister tried to employ her sister to reconsider her actions, but unfortunately...It's already too late. For it seemed that the younger sister had lost faith in her subjects and the respect towards her sister has reached to an end. And it got even worse...

The elder sister tried to reason with her, but the bitterness in the young one's heart had transformed her into a wicked mare of darkness: Nightmare Moon.

Through magical enchantment and dark smoke, a terrible transformation took place. The younger sister's eyes turned into demonic, a chest plate and helmet appeared on her body and head, her mane shifted into an everflowing display. The once proud younger ruler would become an infamous demon of the night, the dark alicorn.

She vowed that she would shroud the land in eternal night.

Seeing all her subjects were helpless and afraid, feared what terrible power would have done to Equestria should this continue, the elder sister had only one choice...A choice that comes at a terrible price and would regret for the rest of her life.

Reluctantly, the elder sister harnessed the most power magic known to Ponydom: The Elements of Harmony.

The Elements of Harmony. The most power magic that was used in all six gemstones with a different shade of colors: Red, orange, green, blue, violet, and pink. Hidden deep within the castle, they laid dormant and were only be called upon in the event on emergency. The elder sister needed these gemstones to combat against her own sister and save Equestria.

Using the Elements of Harmony, she defeated her younger sister, and banished her permanently in the moon.

And when it happened: Wearing a tiara around her head with one of the elements embedded in the center, she used the Elements of Harmony to overcome Nightmare Moon, the pony formerly who was once her sister. After a great conjuring of magic, Nightmare Moon's face was implanted upon the surface of the moon.

The elder sister took on responsibility, for both sun and moon. And harmony has been maintained in Equestria for generation since.

As the page rests on where the story ends, a single mare had been reading the contents of that book. A unicorn laying on her stomach along the grass, near the lake in the Canterlot Castle gardens.

She has a pale light grayish mulberry, dark sapphire blue mane and tail with moderate purple and brilliant raspberry streaks, and moderate violet eyes. Her cutie mark has an appearance of a pink six-pointed sparkle surrounded by five small white sparkles.

"Hmm, Elements of Harmony...I know I've heard of those before, but where?" Twilight questions herself with a ponder, looking up the sky.

Meanwhile, Mario Star was sitting on a grass while doing some meditation when golden yellow aura surrounds him. With his hind legs crossed, his front hooves extend, and his eyes shut. He takes a deep breath so he could focus and find his inner peace.

He has pale peach fur coat with orange mane and tail, and he has brown eyes. His cutie mark is a silver heart which was really an apple half with seeds, golden star, and a gold ribbon underneath it. He has white wrappings on his front and back hooves, also his physical appearance was a lot like Bright Mac.

Few years ago, Mario visits to Canterlot for multiple occasions, including visiting to his adopted mother, Princess Celestia, his adopted sister, Princess Cadence, and his friends. He mostly stayed in Sweet Apple Acres in Ponyville to help his biological family with the chores and selling some apples since he's catching up the roots of the Apple family history. He also visits to the mountains to train in martial arts with Wu, his teacher and learn some new tricks he can use for the future.

But now, Princess Celestia had asked Mario Star to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in Ponyville few days ago. At that, Mario accepts her offer, but he won't be going alone since he'll be with some pony.

Of course, he's been at it for a half an hour, waiting for someone to go with him.

"Mario!"

Mario's brown eyes quickly opens and groaned in dissatisfaction as he slowly turned his head to see none other than his old classmate, Twilight Sparkle, who's standing next to him.

"Twilight." Mario groans with annoyance. "How many times do I have to tell you not to do that while I'm meditating? Or do you want me to refresh your memory?"

"Sorry Mario, but I've got something big to work on and I need your help." Twilight told him, urgently.

"If it's about your project, it'll have to wait." Mario refutes calmly, pulls himself up. "Because I'm waiting for some pony to come with me to help supervise for the Summer Sun Celebration at Ponyville."

"Mario, I need your help. Please." Twilight pleads which Mario shook his head.

"Sorry, but I've already told you, it'll have to wait." Mario told her with an apology. "Otherwise, you'll have to do that project on your own. You're smart enough to figure it out."

"But it's important and I need you." Twilight pleads again, causing Mario to groan and he had enough.

"This is what causing a rift in a first place." Mario remarked with a statement. "You've always been on books. Never time for me and our friends."

"I have studies." Twilight argued. "Sorry, you couldn't be the center of attention."

Even though, Mario knew that Twilight is right about that, but he also makes a valid point about her studying than make friends.

"There was a time when you cared about your friends than your studies, Twilight." Mario states calmly yet sternly, given her an advice as he then stroll passed her and leave. It causes Twilight to groan and then left.

Of course, Mario has been putting up with Twilight all these years when they became friends, no matter how big or small the task was, she wouldn't let it go until it's dealt with. Twilight didn't have many friends in Canterlot, not even when they went to school. Mario knew that enough is enough and it causes a rift between the two. He does his own way by practicing martial arts and magic to keep himself in shape while honing his skills, and most of time setting it aside by doing his studies for exams and tests. Twilight does her own by mostly studying and practicing magic while learning new ones.

Since Twilight won't be getting help from Mario, she decided to do this project on her own. As she strolls down to the path, heading for the observatory, she soon found herself blocked by the other friends she has in Canterlot: Minuette, Twinkleshine, and Lemon Heart.

"There you are, Twilight!" Twinkleshine said cheerfully. "Moon Dancer is having a little get-together in the west castle courtyard. You wanna come?"

"Oh, sorry girls." Twilight replied gently with an apology. "I've got a lot of studying to catch up on."

Though the reason why her friends tried to invite her or ask her to hang out or maybe having fun, she always turned them down. Twilight always preferred studies over bonding with friends any day. The only one pony who gets to spend some time with them is Mario, he sometimes hangs out with them whenever he wasn't busy practicing or helping the Apples family.

So, with that, Twilight zipped past the girls and galloped down the path as the three mares stared after her.

"Does that pony do anything except study?" Twinkleshine asks with a scoff. "I think she's more interested in books than friends."

The three mares just shrug silently and trotted away, but noticed Mario is heading down the path.

"Mario!" Twinkleshine called him, earned his attention.

"Hey girls, what's up?" Mario asks with a small smile.

"Well, Moon Dancer is having a little get-together in the west castle courtyard." Twinkleshine told him.

"Wow, today! I almost forgot about it." Mario states with shock.

"We were wondering if you wanna come." Lemon Heart offers. "You haven't seen us or Moon Dancer in a while."

"That's because I've been helping my family with the chores at Sweet Apple Acres, which y'all are aware of that when I told you three." Mario told her, earned a nod from those three. "That and practicing with Master Wu."

"That's true." Minuette agrees. "Anyway, you wanna come?"

"Why not? I've got time." Mario accepts.

With that, they're off to the west castle courtyard to meet up with Moon Dancer.

Meanwhile, Twilight kept running towards the path while trying to get to the observatory.

"I know I've heard the Elements of Harmony." Twilight said aloud as she just crossed a bridge when Lyra Heartstrings wave to her, but she zipped by without noticing.

She continued to run back towards the tall, white and golden tower representing both her home and her research room. Since Twilight is determined to find the answer about the Elements of Harmony she was looking for, she didn't know where she was going before it's too late that a tiny dragon named Spike, who's making his way out of the tower with a package on his claws. She bashed him out of the way in an instant when she opened the door.

"Ow!" Spike grunts, seeing stars.

Spike is a baby who has a light mulberry scales with light spring budish gray scales from his underbelly, moderate harlequin spines, light lime green ear fonds, and moderate pistachio eyes.

"Spike! Spi-ike!" Twilight called him without realizing she was about to run over him, noticed he's knocked out on the floor. "Spike?"

Spike groans while try to recover his daze.

"There you are." Twilight said, rushed up the stairs to get to the upper floor while looking for a book. "Quick, find me that old copy of 'Predictions and Prophecies'."

It wasn't long until Twilight noticed something from his tail when Spike climbed up, she saw a bashed package that's stuck at the end of his tail.

"What's that for?" Twilight inquires, points at the ruined package.

Spike noticed the package as he turns around and moved his tail, grabbing the package.

"Well, it was a gift for Moon Dancer, but..."

The head of the teddy bear falls off, squeaked.

"Oh Spike, you know we don't have time for that sort of thing." Twilight points out, going through the books.

"But we're on a break!" Spike protests.

Twilight just ignored him as she used her magic, a pale light grayish orchid, summoning a number of books before her, quickly looking them over one by one.

"No, no, no...No, no, no!" Twilight said, grunts in frustration and seeing none of these titles showed the information she needed. "Spike!"

"It's over here!" Spike shouts to her after effortlessly head towards the tall ladder, looking for a book and showed it to her from afar.

Just then, the book and Spike were pulled towards Twilight. Spike is quickly plummeting towards the floor while his claw being pulled, revealing the book.

"Ah." Twilight said with a smile, holding the book while leaving the rest of the books on the floor as she trotted towards the book stand. Spike couldn't help but groan as he then cleans up the mess she made. She then places the book on the book stand while going through it. "Elements, elements...E, E, E, E, E, Aha! Elements of Harmony: See Mare in the Moon?"

"Mare in the Moon? But that's just an old ponies tale." Spike points out, climbs up the ladder while putting the books away.

"Mare...Mare...Aha!" Twilight exclaimed, finding the page she's looking for. "The Mare in the Moon: Myth from old and pony times. A powerful pony who wanted to rule Equestria, defeated by the Elements of Harmony and imprisoned in the moon. Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal!"

It Twilight gasp with shock when she read the legend, turns to Spike.

"Spike! Do you know what this means?" Twilight asks.

Apparently, Spike was struggling not to lose his balance on the ladder when it wobbled dangerously. No matter how many times Spike tried to keep it balanced, the number of books he holds is making it difficult for him.

"No...Whoa! OW!"

Spike tumbled once again, but this time, Twilight caught him with ease.

"Take a note, please. To the princess." Twilight ordered when she extends the scroll and quill to him, points her tail forward.

"Okie-dokie!" Spike complied, grabbed the scroll and quill as he hops off Twilight's back, slides her tail, and lands on the floor. Spike then gets ready to write.

"My dearest teacher. My continuing studies of pony magic have led me to discover that we're on precipice of disaster!" Twilight said, began to take a message while pacing around.

"Hold on." Spike said while he fast writes, but stops. Sometimes Twilight would use the words a bit too complex for him. "Preci...Preci..."

"Threshold." Twilight proposed instead.

"Threh..."

"Uh, brink?" Twilight tried it again with a propose.

Though, Spike is still having trouble which Twilight is starting to grew impatient.

"That something really bad is about to happen!" Twilight grunts while helping Spike out. "For you see, the mythical Mare in the Moon is in fact Nightmare Moon, and she's about to return to Equestria, and bring with her eternal night! Something must be done to make sure that this terrible prophecy does not come true. I await your quick response. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle."

"Twilight Sparkle." Spike replied slowly, finished writing a message. "Got it!"

"Great, send it!" Twilight replied excitedly.

"Now?" Spike asks.

"Of course." Twilight answered, slightly turns to him.

"Um, I dunno, Twilight." Spike said, holding the scroll while feeling unsure if he'll send it or not. "Princess Celestia's a little busy getting ready for the Summer Sun Celebration. And it's like, the day after tomorrow."

"That's just it, Spike!" Twilight points out as she got into his face. "The day after tomorrow is the thousandth year of the Summer Sun Celebration! It's imperative that the Princess is told right away!"

"Impera...Impera..."

Spike is trying to find the right word which it's too complex for him, but Twilight doesn't have the patience for it.

"IMPORTANT!" Twilight bellowed, causing Spike to tumble backwards into the bookshelf.

"Okay! Okay!" Spike retorts as he blew green flames over the scroll and it magically disappeared into the sky. "There, it's on its way. But I wouldn't hold you breath..."

"Oh, I'm not worried, Spike." Twilight replied with confidence. "The Princess trusts me completely. In all the years she's been my mentor, she's never once doubted me."

Until, Spike let out a loud belch when a scroll magically appeared.

"I knew she would want take immediate action." Twilight proclaims when Spike grabs it and reads it after clearing his throat.

"My dearest most faithful student, Twilight." Spike said, begins reading it. "You know that I value your diligence and that I trust you completely..."

Twilight nods with a smug smile on her face.

"...but you simply must stop reading those dusty old books!" Spike finished, causing Twilight to gasp with shock. "And it comes to my decision that you'll be going with Mario Star to Ponyville."

Not only that she didn't take Mario's advice, but she's gonna have to go with him to Ponyville which Twilight won't like where this is going.

At the party from the west castle courtyard, Mario, Twinkleshine, Lemon Heart, and Minutte arrived. The mare named Moon Dancer saw them and happy to see them, including Mario Star.

Moon Dancer had a light yellowish gray fur coat, brilliant amaranth mane and tail with moderate purple and grayish violet streaks. Her cutie mark was a purple crescent moon with three pink stars. Her mane is like Twilight's, but she wore glasses.

Apparently, Moon Dancer has a bit of a crush on Mario Star when they were classmates at school, and she still had it for years. She watched him trained in martial arts and magic alone between in Canterlot or at the mountains, but she him less because he stayed mostly in Ponyville to help the Apples family with the chores and selling apples. However, he usually visits in Canterlot to see either his adopted mother or his friends.

"Hey Moon Dancer." Minuette greets her with a smile, notice the food on the table. "Look at this spread, huh?"

"Thank you so much for coming." Moon Dancer thanked them, turns to Mario. "Especially you, Mario. I thought you won't be coming today ever since you left Canterlot."

"Well, I've been called by Princess Celestia today, she told me to come here and wait for some pony before I leave." Mario explains with a smile. "But, I've got time before I head back to Ponyville."

"Is there a reason?" Lemon Heart inquires.

"There is, I've been asked to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration." Mario told her, leaving them surprised. "And this event will happen at Ponyville."

It got them gasp in surprised expression on their faces when Mario told them.

"Summer Sun Celebration is really going to be at Ponyville?!" Twinkleshine exclaims with shock.

"That's what Princess Celestia told me." Mario nods with confirm. "And I was wondering if you girls want to stop by in Ponyville for the event."

"Of course! We would love to come to Ponyville for the Summer Sun Celebration!" Minuette replies, accepts his offer.

Mario couldn't but chuckle a bit when Moon Dancer walk towards him with a blush on her face.

"Mario. There's something I've been wanting to tell you." Moon Dancer told him.

"Yes, what is it?" Mario inquires calmly.

"Well, it's...it's like this." Moon Dancer said, moves close to his face. "Mario, would you be my-"

"Mario!"

It got interrupted when Twilight showed up at the west castle courtyard, causing Mario to groan with annoyance while Moon Dancer to groan as well. They turned to Twilight and Spike.

"Hey Mario, haven't seen you in a while." Spike greets with a smile.

"Hey Spike, I've been busy helping my family at Ponyville." Mario states with a smile, turns to Twilight. "So, change your mind?"

"No, but that's not why I'm here." Twilight shook her head.

"Then why are you here?" Mario questions, walking towards her.

"Well, Princess Celestia have ask of me to go with you at Ponyville." Twilight explains herself, leaving the four mares and Mario surprised.

"Wait, what? You're kidding, right?" Mario asks, hoping it's a joke.

"Believe me, I thought so too, but as it turns out, she's not." Twilight answered.

"Let me see what the message says." Mario ordered when Spike extends the scroll to him as he uses his magic, mango orange aura, pulls out the scroll as he reads it.

As Mario finished reading it, he then turns to Twilight with a smirk.

"Well, Princess Celestia is right about that part about the books, you've been reading them too long." Mario states, leaving Spike snickered a bit. "Also, this is exactly why you need to get out more and spending some time with your friends."

"Alright, alright, I get it! You don't have to rub it in!" Twilight retorts with a shout. "Are we going or not?"

Mario then turns to the four mares and spoke.

"I'm sorry girls, I'm gonna have to cut the visit short." Mario told them with an apology, turns to Moon Dancer. "Moon Dancer, I'm-"

"No, it's okay." Moon Dancer told him. "We'll see you and Twilight at Ponyville."

Mario only responds with a nod as he and Twilight heads out, but Moon Dancer was sad that she didn't get the chance to tell him and hurt when Twilight interrupts, causing her chance to tell him went up in smoke.

Soon enough, the two ponies and Spike were on a flying chariot pulled by two Royal Pegasus guards. The guards were assigned to carry them towards Ponyville above the clouds. Mario couldn't remember how long it's been on riding a chariot, enjoys the ride. Twilight however, kept pouting while leaning over the edge of the chariot. Along the way, Spike continued to read the letter Princess Celestia has sent.

"My dear Twilight, there is more to a young pony's life than studying, so I'm sending you and Mario to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in the year's location: Ponyville. And, I have an even more essential task for you to complete...Make some friends!"

Twilight couldn't help but grumble, not looking forward to the mission at all. Mario on the other hand, he feels glad to be back in Ponyville.

"Well under the circumstances, I always said we need to get out of Canterlot." Mario adds, turns to her. "Besides, you could use a change of pace and a scenery for once."

"True." Spike agrees to his statement, turns to Twilight. "Look at the bright side, Twilight. The Princess arranged for you to stay in a library. Doesn't that make you happy?"

"Yes, yes it does." Twilight answered with a smile. "You know why? Because I'm right! I'll check on the preparations as fast as I can, then get to the library to find some proof of Nightmare's Moon return."

"Then...When will you make friends, like the Princess said?" Spike asks.

"He's right, Twilight." Mario agrees. "Not to take this the wrong way, I'll do what I can to help, but you need to try make some friends for once."

"She said to check the preparations." Twilight retorts. "I'm her student, and I'll do my royal duty, but the fate of Equestria does not rest on me making friends."

"It doesn't matter if you're her student or not, Twilight." Mario argued sternly. "True that she did ask you to supervise the preparations, but she also wants you to make friends here in Ponyville. But she never said anything about showing her proof about Nightmare Moon's return."

Twilight was about to argue, but Mario stops her by pressing his hoof on her mouth.

"You're not the one who's sensing trouble, so don't think I didn't even know that." Mario told her harshly.

Twilight didn't argue any further when she heard two royal guards give a horse-like whinny.

"Thank you, sirs." Twilight thanked them.

"Thanks for the ride." Mario thanked them, taking out a bag of bits. "Here's the bits for the ride back."

The two guards huffed in appreciation as the two ponies and a dragon scanned around the town. Just then, a pink pony approach them.

She has a pale light grayish raspberry fur coat with brilliant raspberry mane and tail, styled like a cotton candy, and light cerulean eyes. Her cutie mark was two blue balloons with yellow strings and one yellow balloon with a blue string.

"Maybe the ponies in Ponyville have interesting things to talk about." Spike suggests. "Come on, Twilight, just try!"

"Some pony is here to greet, it would be rude if you don't say 'hello'." Mario told her.

Twilight noticed a pink pony is standing in front of her, trying her best to smile.

"Uh, hello?" Twilight greets, slowly.

GASP!

The pink pony gasp in utter surprise before zipping away at speed, causing Twilight, Spike, and Mario to quickly duck down. They then stood back up and watch her left.

"Well, that was interesting all right." Twilight said, unamused.

Mario shook his head while Spike groans.

"Mario!"

Mario, Twilight, and Spike turned their heads and saw Twinkleshine, Lemon Heart, and Minuette, except Moon Dancer, arrived at Ponyville.

"Hey, girls." Mario greeted them. "Thanks for coming."

"Hey, we wouldn't miss it for the Summer Sun Celebration." Twinkleshine states with a smile, but Mario notice some pony is missing.

"Hey, where's Moon Dancer? Isn't she coming?" Mario inquires.

It got those three cringed when he ask that question, but Minuette spoke up.

"We tried to get Moon Dancer to come with us since you invited us, but she said she won't be coming." Minuette explains sadly, leaving Mario sad.

"I see." Mario said.

"Hey, we'll have fun at the Summer Sun Celebration, right?" Minuette ask, tried to cheer him up.

"Yeah." Mario nods, sighed. "After the event is over, I'm gonna come over to Canterlot and try to talk with Moon Dancer."

The three mares give him a nod with an understanding as they part ways.

Eventually, the little group walked through the entire crop of Apples trees before winding up at a large farm called Sweet Apple Acres. Spike proceeds to take out the long checklist and begins reading it off.

"Summer Sun Celebration official overseer's checklist." Spike read aloud. "#1: Banquet Preparations: Sweet Apple Acres."

"YEE-HAW!"

The group turned their heads, noticed a country mare that had a brilliant gamboge fur coat, pale light grayish olive mane and tail tied into a pony tail, and moderate sap green eyes. Her cutie mark was three red apples. She wore a brown Stetson hat. The country mare proceeds to knock apples from a tree, by bucking the tree with her hind legs with incredible strength.

"Never gets old when she does that." Mario states with a chuckle, approaches her. "Hey, Applejack!"

The country mare named Applejack turns her head to Mario with a smile.

"Howdy, Mario!" Applejack greets back, hugged him.

"Wait, you know her?" Twilight asks, raise her eyebrow.

"Eeyup, Applejack is my sister." Mario confirms.

"And you didn't tell me that you had a sister?" Twilight questions skeptically.

"Maybe it's because you've been in your head in books and not spending time with any pony." Mario points out. "The reason I didn't bother telling you is because you're studying more and didn't pay attention to any pony else."

It causes Twilight to groan, knew that Mario made a valid point. Applejack and Spike couldn't help but chuckle a little.

"Anyway, why don't you introduce yourself." Mario told her.

"Let's get this over with." Twilight muttered quietly with a sigh when she and Spike make their way towards Applejack. "Good afternoon. My name is Twilight Sparkle-"

But Twilight is caught off-guard as Applejack began to roughly shake her hoof.

"Well, howdy-doo, Miss Twilight." Applejack greets. "A pleasure makin' your acquaintance. I'm Applejack. We here at Sweet Apple Acres sure do like makin' new friends!"

"Friends?" Twilight repeats. "Actually, I...Er...We..."

"So, what can I do you for?" Applejack asks.

Poor Twilight's hoof still shook about, so Mario grabs it with his magic to make her stop. Spike just snickered until Twilight glared at him, before clearing her throat.

"Well, we are in fact here to supervise preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration." Twilight explains.

"And from what we can understand, you're in charge of the food?" Mario questions with a smile.

"We sure sugar are, Big Brother!" Applejack answered proudly. "Would you care to sample some?"

"Well, I am getting kind of hungry." Mario replied.

"As long as it doesn't take too long." Twilight adds.

Mario smacked her at the back of her head, leaving her grunt. But before they could say anything, they heard a triangle ringing.

"Soups on, every pony!" Applejack called out.

"Oh, that's right! The Apple family reunion is today." Mario states, forgotten about the reunion and it got Twilight shocked.

"What?! You didn't tell us before...HAND!"

When Twilight finished her sentence, the stampede came and next thing Mario, Twilight, and Spike knew was that they were in a round table with a pale green checkered cloth. All three felt rather dazed until Applejack was nearby.

"Now, why don't I introduce y'all to the Apple family!" Applejack proposed.

"Thanks, but we really need to hurry-"

"This here is Apple Fritter..."

Applejack proceeds to introduce each family member after cutting off Twilight, who each brought out an apple treats to the table.

"...Apple Bumpkin, Red Gala, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Caramel Apple, Apple Strudel, Apple Tarts, Baked Apples, Apple Brioche, Apple Cinnamon Crisp..."

Applejack then lets out a deep breath to gain some air.

"...Big Macintosh, Apple Bloom, and Granny Smith."

On the last name, the three turned to an elder pony called Granny Smith, who's sleeping on a rocking chair. Granny Smith is not only the patriarch of the Apple family, but a founder of Ponyville.

"Up'n'attem, Granny Smith, we got guests!" Applejack called her, causing Granny Smith to wake up from her sleep.

"Wha...? Soup's on...?" Granny Smith retorted. "I'm up and here I come, ah'm comin'..."

As Granny Smith slowly joins the family, her ankle joints cracks with each step, Applejack turns over to the family as they surround the three newcomers. Mario noticed a green apple shoved into Twilight's mouth, making him chuckle a bit.

"Why, I'd say they're already part of the family." Applejack declared.

Mario shook his head with a smile on his face while Spike smiled widely and happily. Twilight, meanwhile, spat the now chew apple from her mouth and gave a nervous laugh.

"Okay, well." Twilight replied slowly. "I can see the food situation has handled. So, we'll be on our way."

It got the Apple family sad when Twilight had just turned to leave when a filly named Apple Bloom walks up to her.

Apple Bloom is a filly with pale light grayish olive fur coat, brilliant amaranth mane and tail with a light brilliant crimson bow on her head, and brilliant gamboge eyes. Unlike the rest of the ponies, she has no cutie mark.

"Aren't you gonna stay for brunch?" Apple Bloom asks quietly, given Twilight and Mario a cutest puppy eyes look.

"How can you say 'no' to that face?" Mario asks with a smirk.

To be honest, Mario doesn't want to leave and he's not in a hurry, either. But Twilight, on the other hoof...

"Sorry." Twilight apologize, trying not to hurt her feelings. "But we have an awful lot to do..."

Every pony gave a long, disappointed sigh, until Mario steps and decided to intervene.

"Now hold up, every pony." Mario called them, earned their attention. "Pay no mind to what she said. Why we'd be honored to share a brunch with y'all, as a gesture of friendship."

The last word got him to growl quietly towards Twilight Sprakle as he glares at her. Twilight glares back as the two ended up in a standoff for the next few seconds. They kept their gaze locked, waiting for one of them to crack, until Twilight blinked and looked away with a huff.

"Fine." Twilight conceded reluctantly.

Mario smirked victoriously while the Apple family cheered and invited them to the table to eat.

Few hours later, Twilight, Mario, and Spike left the Sweet Apple Acres. Needless to say, both Mario and Spike were very satisfied.

"Foods all taken care of." Spike said, checked off the list. "Next is weather."

"Gotta say, they sure make a mean tasty apple treats." Mario states. "And it sure beats than Canterlot meals."

Twilight Sparkle, however, lagged behind the both of them and moaned because her stomach bulged greatly.

"Ugh...I ate too much pie..." Twilight groaned.

"I tried to warn you." Mario pointed out. "Sampling means taking 'small' amounts of everything. Not devouring everything while shoving your mouth. But you didn't listen. Still, didn't think you had the appetite of a full-grown stallion."

Twilight just grunted angrily while Mario smirked for teasing her as they keep moving. While they bicker, Spike examined a few clouds hanging in the sky.

"Hmm...There's suppose to be a Pegasus pony named Rainbow Dash clearing the clouds." Spike said with a ponder.

"Well, she's not doing a very good job, is she?" Twilight points out.

That's when Mario sensed something that spells danger coming his way. He then jumped out of the way as a blue Pegasus pony named Rainbow Dash came crashing down on Twilight. The initial impact sent Twilight into a giant patch of mud. She moaned angrily and her coat is covered in mud.

Rainbow Dash has a pale light grayish cerulean fur coat with rainbow mane and tail, and moderate cerise eyes. Her cutie mark was a blue-yellow-red lightning bolt with cloud.

Rainbow Dash took a glace at Twilight for a few seconds, laughed sheepishly.

"Uh...'scuse me?" Rainbow Dash replied nervously.

As Rainbow Dash hovered about, Mario and Twilight give her a death glare while she just laughed a little.

"Lemme help you." Rainbow Dash offered as she grabs a nearby cloud and makes it a downpour with her hooves hopping on the cloud. The cloud soaked Twilight while Rainbow Dash, who's above the cloud, laughing a little. "Oops, I guess I overdid it."

"Ya think?!" Mario retorts.

"Um, uh, how about this? My very own patented, Rain-Blow Dry!"

She created a large wind tunnel around Twilight, drying her off quickly.

"No, no, don't thank me." Rainbow Dash replied, lands on the ground before facing Twilight. "You're quite welcome."

It was then Rainbow Dash saw that her trick did more than just dry her mane and tail. While Twilight is dry, her mane and tail was now frizzy and poofy. The sight was too much as Rainbow Dash and Spike burst out laughing, falling down onto their backs. Both Mario and Twilight just stood and glare.

"Let me guess." Twilight retorted. "You're Rainbow Dash."

Rainbow Dash, hearing her name, stopped laughing and quickly got up, knocking Spike aside.

"The one and only." Rainbow Dash replied with a cocky smirk, quickly flew up next to her and leans close. "Why? You've heard of me?"

"I heard you're supposed to be keeping the sky clear." Twilight remarked with a sigh. "I'm Twilight Sparkle and this is Mario Star and The Princes sent us to check on the weather."

Though, Rainbow Dash had made herself comfortable on a cloud above them. She didn't seem to be the least motivated to actually do the job.

"Yeah, yeah, that'll be a snap." Rainbow Dash waved it off. "I'll do it in a jiffy. Just as soon as I'm done practicing."

"What kind of a pony who'd practice of being lazy?" Mario asks in confusion.

"Practicing for what?" Twilight asks, raise her eyebrow.

"The Wonderbolts!" Rainbow Dash answered excitedly.

She motioned towards a nearby poster showing what appeared to be a Pegasi ponies dressed in flight suits, which featured a shade of gold and aquamarine along with a 'winged bolt' logo.

"They're gonna perform at the Celebration tomorrow, and I'm gonna show'em my stuff!" Rainbow Dash declares.

"Good luck with that." Mario muttered with his eyes rolled, knew a pony who had made the Wonderbolts Academy, but not saying anything about it.

"The...Wonderbolts?" Twilight asks with a smirk.

"Yep." Rainbow Dash confirms, relaxing on another cloud.

"The most talent flyers in all of Equestria?" Twilight asks again.

"That's them!" Rainbow Dash confirms again.

"Pfft! Please! They'd never accept a Pegasus who can't even keep the sky clear for one measly day." Twilight taunts when Rainbow glares at her for the choice of words.

"Hey! I could clear the sky in 10 seconds flat!" Rainbow Dash retorts.

"Prove it!" Twilight said, challenging her as Mario looked at her with concerned, had a feeling she made a big mistake.

And with that, Rainbow Dash zoomed high in the sky, bucking off the remaining clouds in a rapid session. Both Mario and Twilight were agape, as Rainbow returned with a whoosh.

"Loop-de-loop around and wham!" Rainbow Dash said, finishing up. "What'd I say? 10...Seconds...Flat. I've never leave Ponyville hanging."

Twilight, Mario, and Spike starred with their jaws dropped. But Mario recovered quickly and formed a smirk on his face as he come up with an idea. Even though, Rainbow Dash wasn't kidding about being fast, but she only has one fatal flaw. She laughed at their initial shock as she flew around them.

"You should see the looks on your faces." Rainbow Dash said with a laugh. "Ha! You're a laugh, Twilight Sparkle. You too, Mario Star! I can't wait to hang out some more!"

But before Rainbow Dash could zoom off, Mario pounded her into another mud puddle with a single front kick. Rainbow Dash was now soaked up as Mario laughed so hard, he fell on his back which Spike joins in, laughing. Twilight giggled at it as she found it hilarious too. Rainbow Dash was now really mad.

"Hey! That's not funny!" Rainbow Dash shouts angrily.

"You're right! It's hilarious!" Mario said, laughed even harder.

Rainbow Dash shook the mud off of her body as she now hovered in the air and shot a glare at Mario, who stood up and faced her with his eyes narrowed.

"You want to see something else hilarious?! I'LL SHOW YOU SOMETHING HILARIOUS!?" Rainbow Dash bellowed as tried to tackle him, but Mario was way ahead of her as he knocked her out with his somersault kick to the chin, sent her flying up and crashed down to the ground.

Mario lands on the ground with a proud smirk as Rainbow Dash let out a groan.

Twilight and Spike snickered with each other at Rainbow Dash, while Twilight was glad Mario give her a taste of karma and payback. Rainbow Dash looked back at the smirking colt as she glared at him...before smirking.

"You're alright. Next time, we settle the score." Rainbow Dash declared.

She then zoomed off. It was then Mario noticed Spike is playing with Twilight's puffy mane, causing him to chuckle a bit. Twilight growled at the fact her mane was still messy when she felt two eyes watching her. With a roll of her eyes, she turns to Mario.

"What?!" Twilight growled with a question.

"You know, Twilight. I always find frizzy manes beautiful." Mario states.

Twilight sent a heated glare towards him, before walking off. Mario on the other, just smiled.

"I meant what I said." Mario replied softly.

The next location of the trip led to the town hall that has a large building with a round dome. It's where it supposed to be where the main ceremony would take place tonight. Spike is checking off the list while reading it.

"Decorations." Spike said, but dazed. "Beautiful."

"Yes, the decor is coming along nicely." Twilight agrees, looking at the decorations. "This oughta be quick. I'll be at the library in no time. Beautiful indeed."

"Not the decor! Her!" Spike told her, dazed.

Mario and Twilight turned ahead and before their eyes was a unicorn.

She had a light gray fur coat with moderate indigo curly mane and tail, and moderate azure eyes with light cornflower bluish gray eyeshadows. Her cutie marks were three blue lozenge diamonds.

She's apparently deep in thought, shuffling through the ribbons with her magic.

"No, no, no, Oh! Goodness no!" She exclaimed when Spike went goo-goo eyes on her.

"How are my spines?" Spike asks with worry. "Are they straight?"

"Relax, you're fine." Mario assures him with a chuckle, patting his back.

Twilight just rolled her eyes with a smile, before stepping forward.

"Good afternoon-"

"Just a moment, please!" She replied with an interruption, focusing on her work. "I'm in the zone, as it were. Oh yes! Sparkle always does the trick, does it not? Why, Rarity, you are a talent. Now, um, how can I help you-AAAAAHHHH! Oh. My. Stars. Darling! Whatever happened to your coiffure?!"

Twilight was puzzled, but look at her mane. Mario's eyes were already locked onto hers after Rarity say that. He had studied Prench back in Canterlot Highschool and he knows that word.

"Oh, you mean my mane?" Twilight clarifies. "Well, it's a long story. I'm just here to check on the decorations, and then I'll be out of your hair."

"Out of my hair?!" Rarity exclaims. "What about your hair?"

Rarity began pushing Twilight out of the building from the flank.

"Wait! Where are we going?!" Twilight called out. "Help!"

Mario just casually walk beside her, while Spike was too mesmerized to be of help as he uses his tail to hover.

"I think she's taking us to that building over there." Mario guessed. "Looks like a boutique."

"That would be right, dear." Rarity replied. "My humble abode I own and operate the place myself.

She then realized something as she pushed Twilight.

"Oh dear, I'm afraid I didn't quite catch your name." Rarity told him.

"I'm Mario Star, Miss Rarity." Mario introduced himself with a bow.

"Oh, I've heard about you, you're Applejack's older brother. She spoke very highly of you." Rarity told him, but noticed they arrived. "Ah! Here we are!"

It wasn't long before Twilight stood in the center of the clothing boutique. Mario had visited plenty of boutiques in Canterlot when the other girls would drag him along for one of their weekends. And of course, being the only guy of the group, gets to carry the bags. But something about this particular boutique carried a certain charm as Mario browses around. All the while, Rarity shuffled through various outfits for Twilight.

"No, no, uh-uh." Rarity said to herself. "Too green. Too yellow. Too poofy. Not poofy enough. Too frilly. Too...Shiny..."

"Yeah, considering how bright the sun is." Mario said. "What good is a dress that blinds everyone who looks at you?"

"Mario!?" Twilight sneered.

"What? I'm just saying." Mario replied innocently. "When you hang out with Lemon Heart, you'll learn a thing or two about fine couture."

It was just then Twilight was garbed in some form of cyan-colored dress with various gems on each side and an emerald at the front.

"Now go on, my dears, you were telling me where you're from?" Rarity inquires, proceeds to tie the back straps, roughly pulling them against Twilight's chest.

Twilight strained to answer since the dress was too tight from all the tugging, but she tried to answer.

"I've...That is we...Were sent...From Canterlot...Too-"

"Huh?!" Rarity exclaims, suddenly released the straps and sending Twilight tumbling forward. "Canterlot?! Oh, I am so envious! The glamor! The sophistication! I have always dreamed of living there! I can't wait to hear all about it! We are gonna be the best of friends, you and I..."

Rarity held Twilight close, though the latter was uncomfortable when she noticed to broach of the dress.

"Emerald?! What was I thinking? Let me get you some rubies!" Rarity suggests, dashed away.

"Quick! Before she decides to dye my coat a new color!" Twilight called desperately as she quickly ran away while taking off the dress.

Spike was just too dazed, feeling smitten while Mario shook his head as he scoops him up and left.

By that point as in the afternoon, Twilight, Mario, and Spike were outside of the shop, after she got out of the dress and get away from Rarity.

"Wasn't she wonderful?" Spike asked out of the blue, still in a daze.

Mario turned to Spike and smirked, he can tell the purple dragon had been struck by the Cupid's arrow. He knew that feeling too well.

"Focus Casanova." Twilight joked sarcastically. "What's next on the list?"

It got Spike snapped out of this thought, quickly goes through the checklist.

"Oh, uh, music!" Spike told her. "It's the last one!"

It was then they heard a multitude of birds singing. Hiding in the bash, they saw all birds gathered into a large tree and apparently conducted by a yellow Pegasus.

She has a pale light grayish gold fur coat with pale light grayish rose mane and tail, and moderate cyan eyes. Her cutie mark were three butterflies with cyan bodies and pink wings.

During the rehearsal, something caught her attention.

"Oh my. Um, stop please, everyone?" She said, very softly as she flew towards the blue jay. "Excuse me, sir? I mean no offense, but your rhythm is just a 'teeny-tiny' bit off. Now, follow me, please. A-one, a-two, a-one-two-three..."

"Hello!"

Twilight called out at the worst possible time. All of the birds were startled and flew away, even the Pegasus gave a frightened yelp before turning around. From the look on her face, Twilight soon realized her mistake.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry." Twilight apologizes. "I didn't mean to frighten your birds. We're just here to check up on the music and it's sounding beautiful."

Though, she said nothing, but turns away shyly after made a soft landing on the ground, rubbing her hoof upon the ground. Mario shook his head with a smile on his face, had a feeling she's very shy.

"I'm Twilight Sparkle." Twilight introduced herself with an awkward smile. "And this is Mario Star."

Mario gave her a nod with a silent greet.

Again, she said nothing. She seems to grow more shy with each passing day.

"What's your name?" Twilight inquires.

"Um...I'm Fluttershy." Fluttershy replied quietly.

"I'm sorry, what was that?" Twilight asked, unable to hear.

"Um...My name is Fluttershy." Fluttershy replied again, but more softly.

"Didn't quite catch that." Twilight added, feeling awkward, but earned a smack at the back of her head from Mario.

"She said Fluttershy." Mario points out.

Fluttershy then squeaked as the flock of birds returned to the tree. Mario was about to apologize of his sudden outburst when Twilight interrupts him.

"Well, um, it looks like your birds are back. So, I guess everything's in order." Twilight states. "Keep up the good work."

Fluttershy only squeaked again. This time, Mario knew it was Twilight who startled her.

"Oookay..." Twilight replied uneasily, turning to Spike and Mario. "Well, that was easy."

The moment Spike appeared, Fluttershy turns around with a gasp.

"A baby dragon!" Fluttershy exclaims with her eyes widen and smiled, causing the birds to fly away from her sudden outburst as she raced towards Spike, bucking Twilight out of the way. "Oh, I've never seen a baby dragon before, he's so cute!"

"Well, well, well...!" Spike said with a cocky smile.

Twilight glared over being pushed as Mario went over to help her.

"You alright, Twilight?" Mario asks.

"What do you think?" Twilight grumbled.

"Oh my, he talks!" Fluttershy exclaims again. "I didn't know dragons can talk. That's just so incredibly wonderful, I, I just don't even know what to say!"

By then, Twilight used her magic to scoop Spike onto her back.

"Well, in that case, we better be going." Twilight said as she and Mario started walking.

"Wait, wait! What's his name?" Fluttershy asked, follows them.

"I'm Spike." Spike introduces himself.

"Hi, Spike." Fluttershy greets him. "I'm Fluttershy. Wow, a talking dragon! And what do dragons talk about?"

"Well, what do you want to know?" Spike inquires.

"Absolutely everything..." Fluttershy answered.

Twilight couldn't help but groan with annoyance while continuing her way towards the library with the rest following close behind. Spike began to explain Fluttershy about himself.

Few hours later and the sun is setting, Fluttershy and Spike were still in the conversation while Twilight's mood couldn't get any more sour. Mario had purposely lagged behind to hear the conversation, even chuckled with amusement while seeing her sour expression. All the while, Fluttershy listened attentively.

"...And that's the story of my whole entire life." Spike concludes.

By then, they finally arrived at the front of the Grand Oak Tree that marked the town's library.

"Well, up until today. Do you wanna hear about today?" Spike offers.

"Oh yes, please." Fluttershy replied happily.

Just then, Spike was startled when Twilight did a fast 180.

"I'm so sorry, how did we get here so fast?" Twilight said plainly. "This is where I'm staying while in Ponyville and my poor baby dragon needs his sleep."

"No, I don't...WHOA!"

Spike was taken aback again as Twilight sent him flying off her back and onto the ground with a thud. It got Mario hoof-palmed his forehead with annoyance.

"Awww, wook at dat." Twilight said in baby talk. "He's so sweepy, he can't even keep his widdle bawence!"

"Oh brother." Mario muttered quietly while Spike glared. But somehow, Fluttershy believed it.

"Poor thing." Fluttershy replied, scooping Spike up. "You simply must get into bed..."

Fluttershy opened the door to tuck him in, but Twilight interrupts and shoves Fluttershy out. Mario just watched the scenario in unamused expression his face.

"Yes, yes." Twilight replied quickly. "We'll get right on that. Well, goodnight."

Twilight then pulled Mario inside, slamming the door behind them.

"Rude much?" Spike points out with a glare.

"You can say that again." Mario agrees to his remark.

Even though, Mario's bitter expression is shown in pitch-black of darkness.

"Sorry guys, but I have to convince the Princess that Nightmare Moon is coming, and we're running out of time!" Twilight replied, causing Mario rolled his eyes.

"Are you still hung up on all of this, Twilight?" Mario asks with annoyance. "You've already sent a letter to the Princess and she made it clear that you need to make new friends and try to relax a bit."

"Right." Twilight added. "I just need to be alone so I can study without a bunch of crazy ponies trying to make friends all the time. Now, where's the light?"

Before Mario could say more, the lights have turned on and the trio found themselves surrounded by numerous ponies. The place itself was heavily decorated and they all jumped as a honk went off.

"SURPRISE!"

The ponies shouts while blowing kazoos. Twilight groaned while Spike and Mario were in shock.

"SURPRISE!"

Before the trio was the same pink pony they met before she left earlier that day.

"Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie, and I threw this party just for you!" Pinkie Pie exclaims. "Were you surprised? Were ya? Were ya? Huh? Huh? Huh?"

'Looks like some pony had a fair share of sugar today...' Mario thought himself.

"Very surprised." Twilight answered. "Libraries are supposed to be quiet."

"Well, that's silly! What kind of welcome party would be if it was quiet? I mean, duh, bo-ring!" Pinkie Pie exclaims. "Y'see, I saw you when you two first got here, remember? You were all 'hello' and I was all (GASP), remember? Y'see I've never saw you, well except Mario Star, and if I've saw you before that meant you're new, 'cause I know every pony, and I mean every pony in Ponyville!"

"Rrright." Mario said, uneasily.

Twilight just groaned, as she approached the table with all the cups and sodas for drinks.

"And if you're new." Pinkie Pie continued. "That meant you haven't met anyone yet, and if you haven't met anyone yet, you must not have any friends, and if you don't have any friends then you must be lonely, and that made me so sad, then I had an idea, and that's why I was (GASP)! I must throw you a big ginormous super-duper spectacular welcome party and invite everyone in Ponyville! See? And now you have lots and lots of friends."

Mario is having a very hard time keeping track of what Pinkie Pie said, but soon noticed the four, including his sister, he and Twilight met today. As he went over to converse with them, Twilight seemed to tune them all out and sipped her drink. Suddenly, she lifts her head, turned around, and her cheeks puffed out as her face went deep red.

"Are you all right, sugar cube?" Applejack asks.

Twilight said nothing as flames erupted from her mane and tail, and steam erupted from her ears before she rushed off. Once the flames frizzled out, she dashed upstairs without another word.

"Aww, she's so happy, she's crying!" Pinkie Pie exclaims.

Mario rolled his eyes as Spike inspects the bottle Twilight drank from.

"Hmm, hot sauce." Spike read out loud, causing Mario to shook his head with a sigh.

"What is that doing with the soda?" Mario asks.

Just then, Pinkie Pie dumped a large dollop of it atop a cupcake and gobbled it up. Mario and the others made faces.

"What? It's good." Pinkie Pie remarked with her mouthful.

Mario shook his head, losing his appetite and left the library. Applejack and Rarity noticed his body language and the former walked out of the library.

"Hey, Mario, are you feelin' okay?" Applejack asked her brother.

"I wish, but I'm just feeling bad for Moon Dancer." Mario explains. "Even I went to all that trouble to invite her for the Summer Sun Celebration."

"Well, maybe she had a reason for not comin', sugar cube." Applejack states, walking towards him.

"Or maybe she wanted to tell me something and didn't get the chance." Mario remarked. "And I think I have a pretty good idea."

Applejack can tell that Mario was able to figure out on his own, listening to her brother's explanation about what happen at Canterlot before came to Ponyville for the event. She was surprised that Moon Dancer has a crush on him, but Mario is well-aware of that and the reason why he didn't tell her that. He told her that he didn't want to spoil it and letting her tell him at her own pace which it was understandable and kind of him to do that. Applejack is glad that Mario was able to tell her, but a little upset that Twilight just ruined Moon Dancer's chance to tell her how she feels.

Meanwhile, it was well into the night when Mario and Spike finally decided to visit Twilight. Twilight groaned from all noise and loud music downstairs, practically burying her head underneath a large pillow as she sat in her bed. Suddenly, the doors burst open as Mario and Spike came in. The little dragon had a nightshade over his head.

"Hey Twilight!" Spike called her. "Pinkie Pie's starting 'Pin the Tail on the Pony'! Wanna play?"

"Yeah, come on down and have a little fun." Mario urged. "I did a killer singing duet with Rarity, catch up with our old friends and my sister, tried an awesome candy from this Bon Bon character, and just won a dance contest! The girls had Rainbow Dash pinned down since she kept demanding a rematch, especially after she wanted a rematch after knocking her into the mud. She sounded like it's a big deal."

Even though, Mario remembered Wu's teachings and always remember to fight honorably and be respectful to his opponents. He may not care about winning or losing, the only thing it matters to him is that he gave it all.

"NO!" Twilight barked. "All the ponies in this town are crazy! Do you know that time it is?!"

"It's the eve of the Summer Sun Celebration." Spike told her. "Every pony has to stay up, or they'll miss the Princess raise the sun! You really should lighten up, Twilight. It's a party!"

Spike then left, leaving Mario and Twilight alone.

"You really should lighten up, Twilight. It is a party." Twilight imitated, mockingly.

Mario stood up on the rails with his forehooves crossed, and a disappointed look on his face. He finally had enough of her attitude today and decided to say a few words to her.

"Twilight, in all seriousness, you're seriously missing out all the fun." Mario states. "Princess Celestia did say we were here to make friends. I've already made four friends, even catching up with our old friends, and there could be more since every pony here enjoys chatting with me. Spike and I are having a great time, and I was hoping you joined in. But if you'd rather sit her and pout the whole night like a child, be my guest. But don't go cry for me if you missed the event."

Twilight just remained silent, neither saying anything nor turning to him. Mario just left the room, closing the door since he made his peace, joins in on the party games. Twilight just stared at the ceiling, hugging her pillow.

"Ugh, here I thought I'd have time to learn about the Elements of Harmony, but silly me, all this ridiculous friend-making has kept me to it!" Twilight groans in frustration, couldn't stop remembering the last thing she read. "Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about the everlasting night. I hope the Princess was right...I hope it really is just an old pony tale..."

It wasn't long before Mario walked back into the room with Spike on his back.

"C'mon, Twilight!" Spike called her. "It's time to watch the sunrise!"

Twilight looked at the moon one last time, the silhouette of Nightmare Moon remained on the surface and several stars shined around it, but nothing seemed to change. She crawled off the bed and found Mario Star found her. While his face remained stern, he stilled offered her a hoof. Twilight just stares at him before placing her hoof on top. Mario smiles approvingly before escorting her out the library towards the main building for the ceremony.

The building itself wasn't particularly large, but for some reason it fit every pony who came to see the sunrise, with plenty of room to spare. Twilight was still worried as she stood beside Mario waiting for the ceremony to begin. Just then, Pinkie Pie swoopedin from nearby.

"Isn't that exciting?" Pinkie Pie asks out of the blue. "Are you excited, 'cause I'm excited, I've never been so excited-well, except for the time that I saw you walking into town and I went (GASP) but I mean really, who can top that?"

Twilight just gave Mario curious, yet annoyed look.

"Try drinking five bottles of soda and a hot sauce, you'd be hyper too." Mario whispered.

Twilight just rolled her eyes with the Mayor of Ponyville appeared.

She had a pale light grayish amber fur coat with light cornflower bluish gray with a lighter gray streak mane and tail, and moderate phthalo nlue eyes. Her cutie mark was a tan scroll tied with blue ribbon. She wore glasses upon her nose.

She was known as Mayor Mare, the Mayor of Ponyville. Mario had a chance to speak to her during the party, shared a friendly chat. As soon as Fluttershy's birds performed their opening number, Mayor Mare took the center stage.

"Fillies and gentlecolts." Mayor Mare announces proudly. "As Mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration."

All the ponies cheered proudly, stomping their hooves at the start of the upcoming arty. But while she spoke, Twilight looked up and saw the stars approach the moon andthe Mare in the Moon silhouette disappeared from the moon's surface. This made her rather nervous, as the Mayor of Ponyville continued on completely blissfully.

"In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise, and celebrate this, the longest day of the year!" Mayor Mare announces. "And now, it is my great honor to introduce to you the ruler of our land, the very pony who gives us the sun and the moon each and every day, the good, the wise, and the bringer of Harmony to all of Equestria..."

"Ready?" Fluttershy asked the birds, who simply nods.

"...Princess Celestia!" Mayor Mare announces.

A spotlight appears where the Princess is set to arrive, and Rarity opens the curtains...But she wasn't there.

"Huh?!" Rarity exclaims with shock.

The rest of the ponies chattered quietly and nervously in the background.

"This can't be good." Twilight said.

"I've got a bad feeling about this." Mario adds, calmly yet sternly.

"Remain calm, every pony." Mayor Mare assures, keeping the peace. "There must be a reasonable explanation!"

"Ooh, ooh, I love guessing games!" Pinkie Pie exclaims. "Is she hiding?"

Rarity searched the area where Princess Celestia was supposed to be, but all she could say...

"She's gone!"

Evey pony gasped, the news of Princess Celestia's disappearance hitting them like an arrow to the heart.

"Ooh, she's good!" Pinkie Pie remarked.

Just then, she gave a great yelp as every pony gasped once more. Only this time, a dark cloudy mist entered the hall. They all watched fearfully, as the mist slowly took form, a form of a dark alicorn.

She had a very dark cornflower blue fur coat with brilliant phthalo blue with grayish persian blue outline mane and tail, moderate blue violet eyebrows, and moderate cyan eyes. She wore brilliant phthalo blue armor and her cutie mark was light blue crescent moon on a purple background.

"Oh no..." Twilight panicked, quietly.

"Nightmare Moon." Twilight and Mario said in unison.

Spike was so shocked, he fainted, fell off the seat of Mario's back. Nightmare Moon laughed menacingly before the ponies surrounding her.

"On, my beloved subjects." Nightmare Moon said boldly. "It's been so long since I've seen your precious little sun-loving faces."

For the moment, the ponies were afraid to say a word. They did nothing but look at her fearfully. Rainbow Dash, on the hoof...

"What did you do with our Princess?!" Rainbow Dash demands angrily.

Rainbow Dash tried to confront Nightmare Moon herself, only for Applejack to hold her back by the tail.

"Whoa there, nelly..." Applejack muffled.

Nightmare Moon chuckled at the gesture, but then her expression quickly changed.

"Why, am I not royal enough for you?" Nightmare Moon asks angrily. "Don't you know who I am?"

The dread silence and blank expression on every pony's faces showed they clearly didn't. But Mario Star didn't find him feeling uncomfortable knowing that no pony else, except Twilight and himself, knew exactly who she is.

"Ooh, ooh, more guessing games!" Pinkie Pie remarked excitedly. "Uh, Hokey Smokes! How about...Queen Meanie! No! Black Snooty, Black Snooty..."

But she was shushed when an apple cake was shoved down her throat. Needless to say, Nightmare Moon was furious. She glared angrily, first to Fluttershy, who coludn't look into her eyes, and eventually turned to Rarity.

"Does my crown no longer count now that I have been imprisoned for a thousand years?" Nightmare Moon demanded. "Did you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?"

"We did."

Nightmare Moon turned as Mario Star and Twilight Sparkle stepped forward.

"And we know who you are." Twilight said. "You're Mare in the Moon-Nightmare Moon!"

All of the other ponies gasped, knowing that an ancient story they've been told by foals was all real. And a once mythical figure now stood before their eyes.

"Well, well, well." Nightmare Moon said. "Some ponies who remember me. Then you two also know why I'm here."

"You're here to...to..." Twilight gulped, afraid of what she would say next, but Mario on the other hoof...

"You're here to snuff out the light and bring the eternal night." Mario growled with a glare, having no effect of her intimidating aura.

Nightmare Moon just chuckled, all that was on her mind was that she had successfully made a triumphant return.

"Remember this day, little ponies." Nightmare Moon declared. "For it was your last. From this moment forth, the night will last forever!"

Nightmare Moon laughed maniacally as the thunder clashed alongside her. Every pony, especially Twilight could only watch in pure horror. Mario Star only glare at Nightmare Moon and not afraid of her.
