Joe's Re-Instatement

Disclaimer: Though I disagree with how Joe ultimately handled things by resigning from the Force where Kramer is concerned, I find that it makes no sense that he didn't return to the job after she took her indefinite leave of absence. Part of my 'Hijinks' series.

"Oh, one other thing, Joe." Kramer told the former CCPD Captain and gaining his curiousity.

"Yeah?" Asked the man as the two went out of the West house and towards her vehicle.

"With me taking my leave, I talked with both Chief Singh and the Governor and both agreed that someone with familiarity with how things are around here in Central is needed. And all three of us know that you are more than qualified in that area."

Joe stared at her in silence before speaking. "Are you telling me what I think you're telling me?"

"That if you're willing to return to being Captain of the CCPD, you would be re-instated with no problems whatsoever." She told him, confirming his suspicions and he couldn't help but laugh.

"Ooh, just when I was startin' to enjoy all this extra free time."

Kristen laughed at his joke. "So is that a yes?"

"You better believe that's a yes. If there was anyone else who I knew would be able to do it I'd recommend them but right now, that's not a thing." Its a damn shame he couldn't ask Drake since she had disappeared without a trace after Queen's Funeral as considering her own experiences, she would've been a good choice to approach.

His words got him a smile from the woman. "Then consider yourself re-instated. Something the Chief no doubt is going to be very happy about when you go see him to let him know."

"Ohh I bet." Lord knew David hadn't been too happy he had resigned but he had understood.

Another smile came from Kramer before she got into her vehicle and with one last goodbye, made her leave and Joe watched her do so. "Her leaving is a good thing considering how angry she made people around here." Muttered the man to himself with a shake of the head before heading back inside his house with a huge smile on his face as he was damned happy about the re-instatement.
