Mr Gold told Belle to meet him at their house and tell the Doctor and his family what had happened. He would meet them soon, but he had to go back to his shop to pick something up—his dagger. So, placing the real version inside his coat, he went to his house, where everyone was waiting for him.
"A time portal?" the Doctor questioned. "A link to the time vortex itself. A rip in the whole of the fabric of time and space, and it's open here?"
"Sounds like the Rift in Cardiff," the Professor added. "Let's hope this one isn't permanent."
"Has anyone gone near it?" the Doctor asked and paced through the living room. "Fallen in?"
"Not that I'm aware of, no," Mr Gold said. "But I take it you have a way of closing it down?"
The Doctor nodded. "Rumple, I always have a plan," he said. "We'll monitor it from the TARDIS. The TARDIS is linked to the time vortex, you see, and that portal is also linked to the time vortex." The Doctor smiled and straightened his bow tie. "She'll close it down."
They all boarded the TARDIS, and the Doctor dematerialised the ship. He pressed a few buttons on the console before reading the monitor. "Okay," the Doctor mused. "That's new."
"What's new?" the Professor asked, joining his father.
"This portal isn't just in Storybrooke. It's connecting all realms. All bubble universes. All through space and time. This portal is crude time travel at its best." The Doctor then moved to flip a lever before sparks flew from the console and the TARDIS lurched.
"What was that?" Clara asked.
"Energy from the portal is reacting to the TARDIS," the Doctor explained. "She doesn't like it one bit." More sparks flew from the console and the time rotor before the ship came to land. They all exited and looked around.
"We're not in Storybrooke anymore," Clara said.
"How do you know, dearie?" Mr Gold asked.
Clara pointed to an apartment up ahead. "My father lives there. We're in London."
The Doctor nodded in thought. "I can get you home. I can get all of us back to Storybrooke," he said.
"I know you will," the Professor said. "And you will come back for us." "
You're not coming?" Belle asked.
The Professor took Clara's hand and looked at her. "I promised Clara that I'd introduce myself to her father. It looks like this is the chance I will get."
"He will love you," Clara said. "I know."
"When we figure out how to get back to Storybrooke, we'll come for you," the Doctor told his son and Clara. Then, before entering the TARDIS again, he gave them a hug, followed by Belle and Mr Gold. The TARDIS dematerialised, leaving only the Professor, Clara and Ellie on the park's lawn.
