This is the 9th chapter. Before I could start the 'Griffon the Brush Off'. I'm adding another human turned into a pony in this chapter. Her name is Emily from Houston, Texas. This chapter is like Comet Stardust, but when Emily became an Earth pony and changed a name to Apple Shine. I know it's early and rushed, but I just thought I could make interesting.
Texan Human to Texan Pony
In the city of Houston, Texas, there was a young girl named Emily who was living with her family between her three older brothers named Ethan, Billy, and Michael, a mother named Carol, and a father named John. Her family were farmers working on a ranch raising the cattle, pigs, horses, and chickens. Every morning, Emily and her family are doing the morning chores to feed the farm animals, fetching the eggs, rounding up the cattle, tending the pens, getting rid of the manure, and grooming the horses manes.
But when it's time for school, Emily gets herself clean up before heading to school and after helping her family doing the chores. She lived in a very happy life and she's the most outgoing Texan that any kids her age would meet. Though, some of the kids her age usually called her a 'country bumpkin', but she doesn't seem to mind nor does she care. Of course, Maggie and Hershal were good friends to her family, sometimes visit to their farm to see her friend, Sarah, playing with her and helping out on the chores.
But happiness won't last at the month of September 17th, Emily and her family have heard the weather news that the Tropical Storm Imelda is heading in Houston for the next few hours. So, Emily and her family decided to work fast by getting the farm animals to shelter as quickly as possible before the storm hits. Unknown to Emily, the timber rattlesnake was slithering towards the ranch and getting too close to the girl. But all of a sudden, the timber rattlesnake bites her leg and letting the venom from its fangs take the effect which it caused her to scream in pain.
"Emily! What's wrong?!" John shouts.
"Pa! My leg!" Emily cried.
John and Ethan rush towards her when they noticed the timber rattlesnake just bit her as her father draws out his Bowie knife, grabs the head of a snake and cuts it off. He then takes the head out of her leg while Ethan holds up to her sister.
"Pa! We have to get Emily to the hospital!" Ethan suggests, noticed his sister is starting to breath weakly. "She's dying!"
John agreed to his sons suggest as his wasted no time by getting on the truck, drove off towards the hospital as fast as they can. Even though, the people from Houston are evacuating the parameters around the city and the police are making sure the people are inside of their homes safely. However, they're in a rush to the hospital when Emily is starting to fade.
When they finally made to the medical hospital, Carol spoke.
"Please! Our daughter needs help!" Carol pleads.
"Just fill out the form, and a doctor will see you as soon as they can." The receptionist told her, busy reading the magazine.
"Are you serious?!" Billy demands. "My sister has been bitten by a timber rattlesnake! She needs treatment!"
"What happened?" One of the doctors asked, earned their attention when he took Emily.
"We were getting the animals sheltered for the Tropical Storm, but then she was bitten in the leg by a timber rattlesnake." John explains. "We rushed her over there, but this no-good galoot wanted us to fill out a form before sending a doctor here!"
"Seriously?!" The doctor exclaims, turns to the receptionist. "You're fired."
"You have to fill out the form." The receptionist said, not knowing whom she's talking to.
"Wow. You really don't care about anything." The doctor said. "Let's take care of her."
The doctor and Emily's family ran into one room, and the doctor is started looking for a vaccine. He managed to find it, but he's checking the heart beat first. Sadly...
"I'm...I'm sorry...It's too late...She's gone..."
"No! No! Not Emily..." Carol said, crying.
Their reaction was very devastating when the doctor informed them the very sad news of Emily. The doctor look at the clock, writing on the note 'Time of death: 3:57 PM'.

Meanwhile in Equestria, in a small town of Ponyville, Applejack was strolling around the town after finished up the morning chores. But what she saw was her brother, Mario Star, strolling right towards the Everfree Forest.
"Mario!" Applejack called her brother, earned his attention. "Why are you heading to the Everfree Forest? Ya know it's mite dangerous."
"I know, but I'm going to find those Maternity Flowers and I'm not taking any of those girls, including you with me." Mario told her. "I can't risk of getting anypony pregnant like Twilight did last time."
"Oh, right." Applejack said, remembered. "But, what are going to do with those flowers?"
"If I was able to find them, I'll have to seal off the entrance of the tunnel so it won't be used by any means." Mario explains. "Even though, Twilight manage to find the tunnel and the Maternity Flower by accident and it got her pregnant, given birth to Comet."
"Ah guess that's true." Applejack agrees. "But Ah can't let you go alone. Which is why I'm going with you."
"Applejack, I've-"
"Ah get it, but I've decided to go with yah and there's no way I'm lettin' you go alone." Applejack told him.
Mario can tell that Applejack that she won't take 'no' for an answer, mostly because she's too stubborn like the time when she wanted to buck the apple trees all on her own since the Appleback Season. Applejack did learn her lesson about asking for help, but learn the hard way that she can't do this all on her own and getting overwhelmed along the way. Since there's no talking her out of this, he sighed.
"Fine, but if you ever saw the Maternity Flowers, don't get too close." Mario warns her.
Applejack responds with a nod as they then continue to venture through the Everfree Forest, but eventually found the secret passage underneath a few bushes, revealing a tunnel that Twilight Sparkle have accidentally found the Maternity Flowers a while ago.
"Is this where Twi found those flowers?" Applejack asks.
"Yes, but that was after she found her book." Mario told her. "But I want to be sure first before I do anything else."
Applejack seemed a little skeptical, but understands what he was getting at.
"Are you sure about this?" Applejack asks. "You already know what that flower looks like."
"True, but I'm not taking any chances." Mario said. "Applejack, it's not too late to head back."
"Sorry Mario, but Ah'm not leavin' ya all on your own." Applejack said.
Mario then rolled his eyes as he and Applejack slides down the tunnel. They eventually made it towards the end of the tunnel, which leads them in the middle of the Everfree Forest and the Castle of Two Sisters. They then look around, noticed some of the crystals and rocks forming a small Stonehenge, and some vines covered with the Maternity Flowers.
"Is this the place where Twi have found those flowers?" Applejack questions.
"The very same." Mario nods with confirm. "And the same flower from the book."
"What are we goin' to do with them?" Applejack asks again.
"We'll have to get back to Ponyville and then seal off the entrance of the tunnel tomorrow, so the Maternity Flower won't be used again." Mario suggests. "Hoping that our friends won't get caught of those flowers."
Applejack nods with an agreement as they head towards the direction where Twilight Sparkle was heading a while back. But as soon as they were about to head out, Applejack got too close to those flowers as it the sprayed the pollen over her face, causing her to cough and step back. It got Mario's attention when he turned his head to Applejack.
"Applejack, are you-"
Mario was about to question, but quickly realize what got Applejack to cough and saw the Maternity Flower.
"Oh no." Mario said. "Applejack, we gotta go."
"Why? What's the rush?" Applejack asks, confused.
"Applejack, the Maternity Flower sprayed the pink pollen all over your face!" Mario told her. "And when it happens..."
"...I'll get pregnant...just like Twi..." Applejack finished his sentence, began to panic. "Oh no! I've gotten too close to those flowers! Can you undo them?!"
"It's not as simple as you think, Applejack." Mario shook his head. "Right now, we need to go get some help."
Applejack may not like the idea of getting pregnant, but she needs some help from her friends as they rush to the Everfree Forest, hoping to get help from the others.
As soon as they made it out of the Everfree Forest, Applejack's stomach is starting to growl, caused her to stop when she noticed her stomach is starting to grow bigger.
"Mario, it's startin'!" Applejack told him, caused Mario to stop and ran to his sister. Then, she felt pain in her stomach as she lay down to her side.
She was crying in pain at how much it was hurting her stomach as she breathes heavily, trying to ease her pain that was happening to her. Rainbow Dash flew towards them as she lands down to the ground, but noticed what happen to Applejack.
"Is that what I think it is?" Rainbow Dash asks.
"Yes, she got too close to those flowers." Mario told her. "Right now, I need your help."
"Say no more, I'll go and get the others!" Rainbow Dash suggests.
"No time! We're going to have to support her." Mario told her. "I need you to hold her down."
Rainbow knew Mario was right as she then put Applejack on her back and holds her down while Mario is at the rear area. Applejack looks down, noticed his hooves were wet, meaning she was leaking from her section. Then, the huge bolt of pain came from her stomach and the water broke.
"GAAAAAAHHHH!"
"Just try to relax, Applejack. Try to calm down and we'll get it done." Mario assures her.
"Okay, but hurry!" Applejack said.
Applejack then started pushing to get the foal out of her, but she's feeling the stinging session from her crotch area. She knew it was painful, but she's trying to calm down while pushing. Then a small sack is started to come out of Applejack, and then Mario Star used his magic to cut open the sack and out came a baby pony, with no colors and wasn't moving.
Then the bright light emerges from the sky, landing on the baby pony. The foal then started to age up to a filly and gained a color.
The filly has a pale gamboge fur coat with pale light grayish olive mane and tail with the streaks of brilliant red and brilliant gamboge.
Mario then uses his magic, levitating the foal over to Applejack so she can carry it.
"Ah...Ah don't know if Ah should hold it, Mario." Applejack said, worried. "Ah...Ah don't think..."
"Applejack." Mario said. "Even though it was an unnatural birth, it's still your foal. You should carry her. Just...be gentle."
"Okay." Applejack replies. "But...shouldn't she be cleaned off first?"
"I'll let Fluttershy and the others know what's going on." Rainbow Dash suggests as she then quickly fly to the cottage, leaving Mario, Applejack, and the foal alone.
"I'm mite sorry for gettin' too close to that flower." Applejack apologize. "Guess Ah wasn't bein' careful."
"No, I'm the one who's sorry." Mario said with a sigh. "I shouldn't let you come with me, but...you went with me because of your stubbornness...and now..."
"Mario, neither of us didn't think this would happen." Applejack said. "Look, I get it yer tryin' to talk me out of it, but I let my stubborn pride get the better of me. I know you mean well, but Ah can't let yah go alone in the Everfree Forest."
"...I know." Mario said with a sigh. "But you know I'm trying to keep you out of trouble since I'm a year older than you."
"I guess that's true." Applejack said with a chuckle, but her stomach growled which it hurt her. "Ah'm not feelin' too good. Feels like Ah haven't eaten for weeks."
"Alright, once Rainbow Dash got the towels and the others, we'll get you and the foal to the hospital." Mario suggests. "I'll write a letter to the princesses about what happened."
Applejack nods with an agreement, waiting for their friends to arrive.
When they arrived, both Mario and Applejack gave them an explanation what happened, telling them that Mario is at the Everfree Forest to find the tunnel and see if the Maternity Flower is there, but Applejack came along since she didn't want her brother going alone and get hurt. Once they find the flowers, Mario is planning to seal off the entrance so the Maternity Flower won't be used again since Twilight found it by accident. However, Applejack got sprayed by those flower, getting pregnant in an instant, and gave birth to a foal.
When they finished their explanation, Twilight was furious about it which she can understand why the Mario is doing this. Twilight decided to let him off the hook, but she's planning to give him a good scolding after the situation is over.
They made it to Ponyville and ran till they reached the Hospital.
Few hours later, Nurse Redheart was checking on Applejack, seeing if she's okay. The rest of the Mane 6, Mario, Comet, Wild Heart, Spike, Granny Smith, Big Mac, Apple Bloom, and the Princesses were watching over Applejack as she was recovering.
"Well, Applejack is okay." Nurse Redheart assures them. "Right now, all she needs is rest and a lot of nutrition so she'll be able to recover."
"So, let me see if I can verify." Princess Celestia said to Mario. "You were planning to head towards the Everfree Forest to see if there's a tunnel that leads to the Maternity Flowers. Applejack volunteers to go with you. Went to the tunnel and manage to find those flowers that Twilight have found a few days ago. You were planning to seal off the entrance tomorrow, but Applejack accidentally got too close to that flower. The Maternity Flower made her pregnant, then she gave birth to a foal that happens to be a filly."
"Yes." Mario confirms. "That's all I can tell you, Princess Celestia."
"And you have no idea who's spirit is in that filly right now?" Princess Celestia questions.
"No." Mario answered. "We won't know until she wakes up. And it's my fault that I got Applejack into this."
"Now, don't ya worry a thing there, sonny." Granny Smith assures him. "We understand yer reason for not lettin' Applejack go with yah."
"Eeyup." Big Mac agrees.
"Besides, we'll just have tah wait until Ah feel better." Applejack said. "Where is that filly now?"
"She's been checked up on until she wakes up." Nurse Redheart explains. "As soon as she awakens, she'll be transferred to this room."
"Hopefully, whoever this filly is, she won't be a threat." Princess Luna said.
"Or that filly was a human from the other world, like Comet." Wild Heart guessed.
At the other room, Emily is starting to wake up as she opened her eyes, revealing the eye color of moderate harlequin. She had no idea how is she alive after getting bit by a timber rattlesnake or ended up here, but knows that the venom isn't spreading around her body anymore. Emily saw herself at the hospital, but she remembered that her family sent her there once after gotten bit in the leg. Emily decided to stretch herself up and rubbing her eyes, but something hard pressed up against her face which it got her confused.
She pulled her hand away to look at it, but instead of a hand, she saw a brilliant gamboge hoof. Emily was shocked until she looked up the other hoof, seeing that it was attaching to her, but the rest of her body was completely different.
"What in tarnation?!" Emily exclaims in shock. "What in the name of a Sam Hill has happen to me?!"
She still got her Southern accent as she then looked down at her body. Emily was clearly a pony and then reached with her hoof to her...and felt her female crotch area.
"What has happened to me?" Emily whispered. "What's Ma, Pa, and mah brothers gonna say when they saw me like this?!"
Her ears twitched when she heard the door creak open. She didn't know what to do, but to pretend to be sleeping. Emily could hear two set of hooves walking towards her bed. She was wondering why this world is full of ponies.
"Well, it looks like her vitals are okay." Doctor Horse said. "She seems to be really healthy. Nurse Sweetheart, you mind getting this filly for a bath when she wakes up."
"Of course, Doctor Horse." Nurse Sweetheart said.
Emily heard one set of the hoofsteps leave the room. She felt the sting in her right foreleg, then felt something cold rub on the spot where she felt stung. Then she felt a bandage put on it. Emily opened one eye and saw the pony, which was a unicorn. He then turned away, which gave her the chance to bolt out.
"Huh?" Doctor Horse said, turned his attention to Emily. "Hey! Get back in bed!"
"You'll never take me alive, yah crazy idjit!" Emily shouts.
Emily had to run on two legs, but she was feeling a little unbalanced, had to go on all fours. Emily stopped in front of a supply closet, and she had to go into it. She went in there and hid in a bottom shelf behind some toilet paper, grabbed her newly formed tail to make sure no one sees her. Emily then heard the supply closet open and saw that same pony from before, looking inside for the filly.
"Where are you, little filly?" Doctor Horse asked. "You shouldn't be in here. You need to be back in bed."
Emily noticed that the pony has a horn on his head, meaning that he's a unicorn.
"Come out of here right now." Doctor Horse said. "You need to rest."
"Doctor Horse?" Nurse Redheart called him, earned his attention. "What are you doing?"
"That filly's awake." Doctor Horse said. "I saw her come in here. She has to be in here somewhere."
Emily then looked behind her and saw an air vent. She somehow grabbed it and ripped it off, threw it towards the doctor, hitting his hoof.
"OW!" Doctor Horse said.
She then widen her eyes and then crawled into the ventilation system, started crawling through it.
"Hey! Get out of there!" Doctor Horse shouts. "You'll hurt yourself!"
Apparently, Emily didn't care. She had to get out of there, find a way to get back to normal, get home, and never try to come here.
Meanwhile, Applejack was eating a lot of food so she could get her energy back. The others were waiting for her to finish up.
"Oh, boy. That felt so good." Applejack said with a satisfied smile, then belched. "Hoowee!"
"I'm going to see where that filly is." Twilight said. "I hope she can answer some questions I have for her."
Then Doctor Horse came into the room.
"Okay, I've got good news and bad news." Doctor Horse said.
"What?!" Princess Celestia exclaims. "What news do you have?"
"Good news is the filly is awake." Doctor Horse said.
"What's the bad news?" Mario questions.
"She's somewhere in the ventilation system." Doctor Horse told them.
"WHAT?!" The Mane 6, Spike, The Princess, and the Apple family shouts.
"We have to find her before she hurts herself!" Twilight said, worried.
"Won't have to, look." Wild Heart said.
Everypony looked towards Wild Heart and saw he was looking through the window. All of them, except Applejack, looked out the window and saw Emily running away from the hospital, still wearing a hospital gown.
"We have to get her back." Twilight suggests.
"Let's get goin'." Applejack said, tried to get out of bed.
"Sorry, Applejack." Mario said, intervenes. "You still need to recover."
"Indeed." Princess Celestia agrees. "We shall go out there to find this filly before she gets lost. Although, that might be easy for her if she doesn't know where she is. Granny Smith, Big Macintosh, you two stay here with Applejack. The rest of us will try and find the filly. Wherever she went."
Everyone but Applejack and Doctor Horse nodded. Then they, except Granny Smith and Big Mac, all headed out the door to find the filly.
Emily ran across the town, trying to keep out of sight from more of those ponies. She eventually made it to Sweet Apple Acres which for some strange reason, she wanted to go there.
"Why do Ah wanna go in there?" Emily asked herself.
She then head some hoofsteps. Emily gasped, and ran into the entry of the orchards. She ran through the path, trying to find some place to hide when she ran across a barn. Perhaps she could hide there, but it reminds her of home back in Houston. She then started looking around for somewhere to hide. She then caught the sight of a treehouse.
"Sure looks in tattered shape, but it'll have ta do fer now." Emily said, sighed. "Ah hope Ah can find a way to get back in Texas, and soon."
Emily started running towards the treehouse, but stopped when she heard a dog growling. Emily turned around and saw Winona, caused her to back away nervously.
"G-Good doggy. Nice doggy." Emily said nervously when she got back towards a tree.
Winona was sniffing her when Emily was against the tree. Winona smiled and started licking her face.
"H-Hey! Sto-Stop it! Ha ha ha! That tickles! Ha ha ha ha!" Emily laughed.
Winona kept licking her, but the dog stopped when there were voices coming in.
"The trail leads this way to Sweet Apple Acres. And by the look if the hoofprints, it belongs to the filly."
Emily then pushed Winona off of her and headed towards the tree house as quietly as she can. She walked up the stairs, and then she headed up the other set of stairs into a lookout tower. She locked the door to make sure no one gets in. She had to stay hidden from anyone who was looking for her. Emily still heard the voice.
"Hello?! We know yer here! Ah heard ya runnin' towards here!"
"Apple Bloom!" The voice of Comet called her. "We don't want to scare her. The only way for her to talk to us if we don't alarm her, but calm her down."
"He's right, Apple Bloom. She's already frightened." The voice of Mario adds.
"Winona!" Apple Bloom called the dog. "Com'ere girl. Winona, have ya seen another pony come through here? An Earth Pony same age as me and Comet."
Emily heard Winona barking twice.
"She's up there?" Apple Bloom asked when Winona barked twice.
Emily started to panic. Any time now, the three ponies would find her and she would get caught. Emily just wanted to go back to Texas. Then she saw Comet phase through the door with magic.
"Are you okay?" Comet asks.
"Get back! Stay away!" Emily shouted.
"It's okay, we're not here to hurt you." Comet said, tried to calm her down.
Emily then panicked before she crawled backwards, still shaking.
"You don't have to be scared." Comet assures her. "I was in the same situation before when I first came here."
Emily was now confused and surprised of Comet's words, still shaking.
"You were?" Emily asks.
"Yes." Comet nods. "I was once a human called Elijah from Brooklyn, New York."
"How did you end up as a pony? How were you here?" Emily questions.
"Well..."
45 minutes later
Emily was astonished of Comet's story. She never heard a story that was so sad. But she never knew what Comet have been through, couldn't resist on not wanting to be friends with an ex-human. Of course, Emily asked a lot of questions to Comet about his family, the things he's done in his old world.
"So, ya made a wish before ya die?" Emily questions, earned a nod from Comet. "And yah were told 'bout the Maternity Flower that got Twilight Sparkle pregnant and gave birth to ya?"
Comet nods again.
"I can't believe it! Even for a city slicker ta go through terrible things, especially with those who're aunt and uncle, even someone my age." Emily said.
Comet couldn't help but growl, resenting that offense which they can hear Apple Bloom and Mario snickered.
"Sorry." Emily apologizes nervously.
"Not the first time somepony called me that." Comet said, leaving Emily confused. "In Equestria, we usually say 'somepony' or 'anypony' instead of 'somebody' or anybody'."
"Oh." Emily said.
"Now you know my story, can you tell me who you are? And where were you from?" Comet asks.
"Like you, Ah was a human...originally from Houston, Texas. It's part of the southern state from the US." Emily explains. "I go by the name of Emily."
Comet then confirms his suspicions: Emily was a human, but from a different state.
"Do you remember what happened before waking up at the hospital?" Comet asks.
"Like Ah said, Ah was from Houston, Texas. Ah was raise by mah family at the ranch and helpin' them do the morning chores by raising farm animals like: cattle, pigs, chickens, and horses. Also, we do everythin' together, rounding up the cattle, tending the pens, fetching the eggs, and grooming the horses mane." Emily explains with a laugh. "Ah was livin' a very good life, Ah was the most outgoing Texan that anyone would meet. But that change so sudden."
"What happened?" Comet asks.
"The Tropical Storm Imelda happen." Emily answered, sighed. "After hearin' the weather news and heard the storm is about to hit Houston, we were startin' to work fast to get the farm animals sheltered, so the animals won't get hit by the storm, or gettin' them killed either. And the next thing I knew, I was bit in the leg by that timber rattlesnake."
"I've heard that the timber rattlesnake are considered the most dangerous snakes, yet deadly." Comet said shockingly.
"Yeah, mah family took me to the hospital in order for me to get some medication, but the receptionist was too busy readin' some dumb magazine." Emily explains. "The other doc manage to get through, and next thing I knew, everythin' grows dark and Ah felt cold. And I passed out."
Comet was shocked along with Mario and Apple Bloom, which they can hear her story. However, Comet decided to tell her since she has the right to know.
"Emily, I don't know how to tell you this. After you were bit...you died." Comet told her, leaving Emily shocked.
"Then...Then that means...I won't be comin' back in Texas? And I'm...stuck like this?" Emily asks, shedding in tears.
"I'm afraid so." Comet confirms sadly. "I'm sorry Emily."
Emily then began to cry after Comet told her and not be able to see her family again, Comet walk to her and hugged the Texan filly. The door was unlocked, revealed Mario and Apple Bloom, who's feeling very sad for the filly. Even the Princesses have overheard her story which they felt sad for her.
After few minutes of crying, Emily finally calms down and go with the others to the hospital for her check up. Emily is still feeling sad for not seeing her family or getting back to Houston after getting bit by a timber rattlesnake. She may not think about Equestria as her new home, but the only thing for her is to give it a chance.
After they made it back to the hospital, the doctors are doing some check-up with Emily, after given her a bath. In the other room, Comet gives Twilight and the others some explanation about Emily, telling them that she was a human from Houston, Texas, raise by the family in the ranch and tending the animals. He also told them that the Tropical Storm Imelda was about to hit Houston which led them to shock, and the worst part is that Emily is being bitten by a timber rattlesnake and died when the venom spreads through her body.
"I can't believe this! After what was goin' to happen to her and her family because of the storm, Emily got bit!" Applejack exclaims.
"It would explain how Emily's spirit became the main spirit of the filly's body now." Mario said.
"So...what are we going to do with her?" Twilight asks.
"Since it was Applejack that has given birth to the filly, it'll be her responsibility." Princess Luna suggested. "Hers and her family."
"WHAT?!" The Mane 6 and the Apple family exclaims, except Mario, Comet, and Wild Heart.
"Ah'm not sure Ah can handle takin' care of a foal." Applejack said. "Even if that foal was an Earth Pony."
"Takin' care of who?" The voice of Emily asks when she arrived at the room.
"Applejack and her family are going to take care you, Emily." Princess Celestia answered. "We know that you cannot return to your old world, like Comet. You need somepony to take care of you."
"You...you would...take care of me?" Emily asks, turns to Applejack.
"Ah don't know, sugarcube. Ah just don't know if Ah should." Applejack said. "Ah don't know if Ah will be able ta take care of ya."
"Applejack." Granny Smith called her. "A lot of ponies ain't ready to be first time parents. Not even yer own ma or pa when they were havin' Big Mac."
"R-Really?" Applejack asks.
"Yeah." Granny Smith confirms. "But ya should understand that ya won't be takin' care of her all by yerself."
"She's right, Applejack." Mario agrees. "We can even help you whenever you need it. Even if you won't admit it."
"Referring ta the time Ah had ta buck the entire orchard when Big Mac was injured?" Applejack asks.
"Eeyup." Big Mac and Mario answered, causing Apple Bloom and Twilight to giggle.
"Hey, you've been spendin' too much time around Big Mac." Apple Bloom said, causing Comet and Emily to chuckle.
Mario couldn't help but chuckle along with Big Mac which he knows that she's right.
"You'll be able to teach her how to use her strength." Twilight said. "She somehow bonded with your DNA when her spirit, including both her mind and soul entered her body, and gave her life again."
"Just like Comet did." Fluttershy adds.
"Thanks, y'all." Applejack thanked them. "Ah'm sure we'll all take good care of the young filly. Right now, she has nowhere else to go, 'cept with us."
"Make sure she well taken cared of." Princess Luna said, looking at Applejack. "We shall announce the new Earth Pony and make sure she will not be harmed in any way."
"Might...I make a suggestion?" Rarity asked, raising her hoof. "I know she is used to her name, but like Comet's, her name isn't exactly a name you find here in Equestria. Might we have to change her name?"
"Why?" Emily asks. "What's wrong with my name?"
"It just doesn't fit here in Equestria." Comet told her. "Trust me, that happens to me too."
"I must agree." Princess Celestia agrees. "The little filly should have her name changed so that the ponies won't be confused by her usual name. Applejack, I assume that you will choose the filly's name?"
"Ah'll...Ah'll try." Applejack said.
She then looked over at Emily. She assumed that the filly should have something with Apple in the name. She saw the sunlight coming in, shining through the window along with Emily's mane.
"Apple Shine." Applejack said with a smile. "Your name will be Apple Shine."
"Apple Shine?" Emily, now Apple Shine repeats. "Hm. Ah think Ah like it."
"Indeed. We shall inform all of Equestria about a new filly." Princess Celestia said with a smile, turns to Applejack. "Take good care of her."
"Of course, Princess." Applejack said. "Ah'll take care of her."
"I know you will, Applejack." Princess Celestia said, then walked up to Princess Luna. "Let us go, sister."
Princess Luna nods as she and Princess Celestia teleported out of the hospital and back to Canterlot.
Applejack then turns to the filly, who's now Apple Shine.
"Were ya and yer family will take care of me?" Apple Shine asks.
"As long as yah do what we say and go as Apple Shine from now on." Applejack said. "Ah'll make sure yer in good hooves, but Ah've got mah family ta help me."
Apple Shine then thought about it. She then gave a hopeful smile, and walked towards Applejack, still trying to get used to walk like a pony. Mario decided to help the filly, using his magic to life Apple Shine up and placed her next to Applejack. Applejack then wrapped Apple Shine into a hug, until she nuzzled her cheek with her chest fur as Applejack let out a motherly smile.
Doctor Horse arrived at the room.
"Well, it seems that both of you are healthy enough to leave the hospital." Doctor Horse said, turns to Applejack. "Applejack, I recommend you eat about twice as much as you usually eat to get your strength up."
"Really?" Applejack asks.
"Don't worry." Doctor Horse assures her. "It'll only be for two weeks."
"Well, if it's only temporary." Applejack said. "Ah still have some Apple Bucking ta do."
"I suggest you not do anything too hard on your body." Doctor Horse suggests. "Right now, let's get you checked out and you'll be off to your home."
After Applejack and Apple Shine were checked out and given her some medical records, they parted ways while leaving the hospital. Apple Shine was riding on Big Mac's back the whole way while Applejack and Mario Star were going at slow pace, making sure that the filly gets home safely.
They arrived at Sweet Apple Acres, where Apple Shine was going to hide earlier, leaving her surprised that it was actually an apple farm.
"Is this where y'all live?" Apple Shine asks.
"Eeyup." Big Mac answered.
"It mite take a while for y'all to gather all of the apples." Apple Shine states. "Speakin' of, how do ya get the apples from a tree?"
"Ya wanna show her, Mario?" Applejack asks her brother with a chuckle.
"Sure thing." Mario answered.
Mario then walked over to a tree, and used his back legs to kick that tree, and the apples fell from the tree.
"No way!" Apple Shine said in shock. "That was faster than jackrabbits runnin' on hills. It's much faster than farmers pick those apples from mah world. They had ta climb up the tree and pick 'em down with their hands."
"Wow. Must've took a lot of 'em humans ta get it done." Applejack said.
"Eeyup." Apple Shine said, try to imitate like Big Mac which it got him chuckled. "Ah've been to an apple farm before on my world. It took a lot of people ta do it."
"Well, we got apple farms across Equestria run by other branches of our family." Apple Bloom told her. "Except Manehatten?"
"Manehattan?" Apple Shine repeats.
"What is it?" Applejack asked.
"In mah and Comet's world, there's a city called Manhattan which it's from New York." Apple Shine explains. "And yeah, it's a big city, lot of businesses, fancy food, and a big park."
"That does sound like Manehattan." Applejack said. "Ah know because Ah lived there for about a week."
"Ah bet you're homesick back then." Apple Shine said, earned a nod from Applejack.
"Alright, kids." Granny Smith called them. "Let's get yer flanks inside."
They then started heading towards the barn. Apple Shine looked up at the sky with a sigh.
"Ah just hope mah family made it out of the tropical storm." Apple Shine said. "Ah'm gettin' worried."
"Don't ya worry, sugarcube, yer family will make it through. And Ah know ya love yer family very much." Applejack said with a smile.
"Ah hope so." Apple Shine said.
Big Mac then bit on the back of neck, which it didn't hurt much, then put her down. They then went inside of the barn, having something to eat which of course it was mostly apples. Apple Shine and the Apple family did some time together, bucking some apple trees with Applejack watching, doing some chores, and helped Apple Shine learn how to walk like a pony.
Later that night, Applejack picked her up, put her on her back, and headed into the bathroom. Applejack started up the tub with both faucets for warm water, and then she dipped her hoof to check the temperature as it was just right, let it fill up the tub. As the water was proper amount, she set Apple Shine down into the tub by picking her up.
"Is the water warm, sugercube?" Applejack asks.
"Yes, it is." Apple Shine nods.
Applejack then got in with her, started cleaning both herself and Apple Shine, then lathered her mane in shampoo. She then took a small pitcher of water and dumped it over her head to wash the shampoo out of her mane. Apple Shine let out giggle, feeling a little tickled from the water which it got Applejack chuckled a bit. Applejack use her hooves to grab a sponge brush and a soap bar, filling it with soap, and gently wash the filly's body and herself, before she rinse themselves off with the entire tub. With Apple Shine and Applejack cleaned up, the mare picked her up, placed her next to her, and drained the tub. Once the tub was completely drained, Applejack used the towel to dry Apple Shine off and herself.
As they went to the bedroom, Applejack and Apple Shine were sharing the same bed. Apple Shine then started to have a nightmare while struggling in her sleep. Applejack noticed the filly, feeling bad for her as she sat up and pull her in for a hug. She then whispered Apple Shine in her ear.
"It's okay, Apple Shine. Ah'm here, Ah'm here." Applejack whispered. "Ah promise Ah'll be here for ya, and Ah'll give ya as much support."
Apple Shine than calms down in her sleep. She then snuggled closer to Applejack's barrel and nuzzled with her chest fur, wrapped her hind legs around her belly, and laid her head against the crook of Applejack's neck as the filly curled her hooves around her chest. Applejack smiled at that and then when back to sleep.
The next morning after hearing the rooster crowed, Applejack was starting to wake up from her sleep. She was about to get out of bed until she felt something wrapped around her barrel. Applejack looked down at her body to see Apple Shine under the covers with her. Applejack smiled to the see the filly holding onto her barrel when Granny Smith entered her room, noticed Apple Shine holding her granddaughter.
"Aww...Now ain't that sweet." Granny Smith said with a smile. "Better wake up, cuz' it's time fer breakfast."
Applejack nods and Granny Smith left the room. Applejack put her hoof on Apple Shine's back.
"Apple Shine, Apple Shine, it's time ta get up, sugarcube." Applejack said softly.
Apple Shine groaned and squirmed a little until she woke up. She looked into Applejack's eyes and smiled.
"Mornin', Applejack." Apple Shine greets.
"Mornin'." Applejack said before yawning. "Time to get some grub. Let's head downstairs."
Apple Shine nods, then she let go of Applejack's barrel, and sat up.
"It feels weird sittin' like this." Apple Shine said. "It almost like Ah'm sittin' like a dog."
"You'll get use to it." Applejack said with a giggle. "Granny Smith and Big Mac are probably up an' at 'em, cooking some breakfast."
Applejack then got out of the bed along with Apple Shine, and out of the room. Apple Shine was able to get the hang of walking like a pony, made her way downstairs with Applejack by her side. They saw Apple Bloom and Mario Star heading downstairs to the kitchen.
"Mornin' ya two." Applejack said to them.
"Mornin' sis." Apple Bloom said.
"Morning." Mario said with a smile. "I see you're up and early."
"Early bird catches the worm." Apple Shine told him. "Ah'm always bright an' early for helpin' mah family out."
"That's good." Mario said. "Right now, it'll be best you eat something first, before the chores."
Apple Shine agreed to his suggestion when Applejack helped her onto a seat and then Big Mac set down a plate of pancakes in front of the filly.
"Uhh...Thanks." Apple Shine thanked him.
"Eeyup." Big Mac said.
"Ya don't talk much, do ya?" Apple Shine asks.
"Nnope." Big Mac answered.
Mario got a plate of pancakes of his own along with Big Mac when he went back to the stove, and got another plate, one with more pancakes than Apple Shine's had, and he put it in front of Applejack.
"Thank yah, Big Mac." Applejack thanked her brother.
"Eeyup." Big Mac said.
Big Mac then sat in his seat, and then the six of them started eating. Apple Shine felt a little disgusted for them eating without any utensils, left her wondering why would they set them out if they weren't going to use them. Apple Shine shrugged it off and using the utensils, started eating those pancakes.
"Alright ya'll, we've got a lot of apple pickin' ta do." Granny Smith told them. "So get as much food ya can, and then head on out ta the orchards. Big Mac, Apple Bloom, Mario Star, with what happened in the early morning yesterday, the three of ya are gonna have ta do Applejack's buckin'. Ya understand?"
"Eeyup." Big Mac and Mario said.
"Aww. But Ah was gonna watch Comet train in martial arts today." Apple Bloom complains.
"Sorry, Apple Bloom. Ya know ya have ta do." Applejack said.
"She's right, Apple Bloom. Where I was from, mah family usually done the same thing in the mornin'. Wake up bright and early, have some breakfast to keep out strength, and do some mornin' chores before Ah get to school." Apple Shine agrees. "Mah Ma and Pa were usually strict on ta us and didn't like us to slack off on chores."
"And I take you've done your morning chores in your old world?" Mario Star asked.
"Eeyup." Apple Shine said, still try to imitate like Big Mac which he chuckled a bit.
"Are ya tryin' to imitate as Big Mac?" Granny Smith asks.
Apple Shine then chuckled nervously with a blush on her cheeks, leaving Granny Smith laugh a bit.
"Don't ya worry there, little filly, yer not in trouble. Ah just thought it was funny." Granny Smith said.
"Yeah, but that could use some work." Apple Bloom states with a chuckle, but thought of an idea. "Why not have Apple Shine do some apple buckin'?"
"What? Me!?" Apple Shine exclaims in shock. "Ah can't...Ah don't even know how ta..."
"Actually, that ain't a bad idea." Applejack said, agreeing to Apple Bloom's suggestion. "Might as well teach her how to buck some apple trees. She might have the same strength as us."
"Do Ah have to?" Apple Shine asks.
"C'mon, Apple Shine. Ya might as well try out." Applejack suggests.
Apple Shine was thinking about it, though she never done bucking apple trees before. She might give it a try if she can help them.
"Well alright, but Ah can't promise ya how hard Ah can kick." Apple Shine said.
"Atta girl." Applejack said. "And don't worry, we'll start with the basics."
Apple Shine nods, but thought to herself, thinking that she might as well show them how she appreciates their hospitality. They continued eating until it was time for them to get out there. As soon as Apple Shine was finished with her plate, along with the others, she was thinking on how she was going to take her plate to the sink. Apple Shine was about to grab the plate with her hooves when Applejack grabbed it.
"Ah got it, Apple Shine." Applejack said. "Why don'tcha head on out with Apple Bloom, Mario, and Big Mac, and then Ah catch up on ya after Ah'm done with the dishes?"
Apple Shine then responds with a nod, got out of her seat and follow Apple Bloom, Mario, and Big Mac.
They headed to the West orchards to start off. Apple Bloom, Big Mac, and Mario Star had some buckets and a cart ready. As soon as Apple Bloom was about to start, Applejack came up.
"Sorry Ah'm late." Applejack said with an apology. "Had to finish up the dishes. Alright, Apple Shine, ya ready?"
"Ah...guess Ah can give it a try." Apple Shine said. "How do Ah do it?"
"Alright. First off, stand with yer flanks facin' towards the tree." Applejack said.
Apple Shine nods and then she had her backside faced towards the tree.
"Yer gonna have ta stand closer to the tree." Applejack told her.
Apple Shine raise her eyebrow, but not going to argue when she stepped until she waited for Applejack to tell her to stop.
"That's good." Applejack said when Apple Shine stopped. "Alright. Now, Ah want ya ta plant yer forelegs firmly."
Apple Shine then started to get a strong sense of gravity from her front legs.
"Alright, now lift both yer back legs, and kick the tree as hard as ya can." Applejack said.
Apple Shine then lifted her hind legs, and with a heavy kick from both her legs, she bucked the tree. What got Apple Shine surprised was that the apples fell off the tree and calm to the buckets, but one of them hit her head.
"OW! Alright, which one of ya flea-bitten varmint threw that?!" Apple Shine shouts with a glare, rubbing her head which it got Applejack laugh.
"Easy there, sugarcube, nopony threw the apple at ya." Applejack assures her. "That apple just landed on yer head."
"Oh." Apple Shine said, nervously chuckled.
Few hours later after Apple Shine got back to some bucking, Apple Shine was exhausted from doing all the apple bucking. She was sweating a lot, wiping the sweat from her forehead. A towel was then tossed onto her head. Apple Shine got it off and looked over, saw Applejack with a juice box.
"Thought ya needed something to cool off." Applejack said with a smile. "Ya actually did a lot better than Ah thought ya would do."
"Thanks." Apple Shine thanked her. "Hoowee, it's hot, much hotter than a Texas armadillo."
"Yeah." Applejack agrees. "The weather scheduled a heat wave this week."
Apple Shine nodded she finished her juice, got back for some apple bucking. Apple Shine was getting really used to apple bucking, but she was getting really tired. It then got way too hot for her to continue bucking. Applejack walked up to her and sat right next to the filly.
"Yeah. It sure is a scorcher, isn't it?" Applejack asks.
"No kiddin'." Apple Shine said. "It ain't mah first rodeo workin' in this hot scorching weather. Ah usually carry a bottle of water with me when Ah get too hot."
"Guess that's true. And it's mite thoughtful." Applejack said. "Ah believe ya done enough. How 'bout ya go take a bath? Ah'll take ya ta Sugarcube Corner to get ya somethin' to eat."
Apple Shine nods when she went inside of the barn to get a bath. Applejack went to Granny Smith, telling her that she's taking Apple Shine to Ponyville since she's new around her which of course, Granny Smith accepts and telling her that it'll do some good for the filly.
After she finished her bath, Applejack and Apple Shine were walking around in Ponyville, while the filly walked beside Applejack, who smiled motherly at her.
"Applejack?" Apple Shine asked, earned her attention. "Was Mario Star yer coltfriend or somethin'?"
Applejack was little surprised at first, but chuckled a bit.
"Nah, sugarcube, Mario Star is mah older brother." Applejack told her. "It'll be mite awkward if Ah date mah brother."
"Oh, sorry." Apple Shine apologize nervously.
"But Ah'm gonna be honest with ya, Mario Star looks alot like mah Ma, or most likely, a spittin' image of her." Applejack said.
"How so?" Apple Shine asks.
"The way he love care 'bout me and mah family, reminds me of her. Whenever Ah felt like cryin' and he was there, Ah didn't feel like cryin' on the inside. Ah let it go, just like Ah did with Ma." Applejack explains. "Ah guess what Ah'm tryin' ta say is, Ah remember the love Ma used to give when he's there to comfort me."
"Did it happen?" Apple Shine asks.
"More or less, but Ah should tell ya this, he's usually strict too, and he sometimes smack either me or Big Mac in the head. And it hurts too." Applejack said, making Apple Shine cringe. "Mario Star is an apple and Ah love him very much."
"But how did he ever get that name?" Apple Shine asks with her raised eyebrow. "It doesn't sound like an Apple name."
"True, but that's where Ma got his last name." Applejack said. "Now as for 'Mario', Ah think Pa was tryin' to be creative, but they said he was meant to be a very special pony. And as for the unicorn, Ah think he got that from his Ma side of the family."
"But there's no tellin' if he is or not." Apple Shine states.
"Nope. And Ah don't think we ever thought about askin' about it either." Applejack said. "But..."
"But?" Apple Shine repeats.
"Mario didn't get the chance to see Ma or Pa, cuz' he didn't expect mah parents to be gone and such." Applejack said.
"I see." Apple Shine said sadly. "Ah'm sorry 'bout your family."
"Thanks, sugarcube." Applejack thanked her, side hugged her. "If mah parents were here, Ah bet they'll be happy ta have you and Mario Star around at Sweet Apple Acres."
Apple Shine smiled, hugging her.
They then entered the Sugarcube Corner, and out of ther counter were Pinkie Pie and the Cakes working.
"Howdy, Pinkie." Applejack greets her as she and Apple Shine, who's standing behind her walked in.
"Hello, Applejack." Mrs. Cake greeted her.
"HEY, APPLEJACK!" Pinkie Pie exclaims happily.
"Howdy, Pinkie." Apple Shine said nervously which Mrs. Cake noticed the filly.
"Aww...this must be Apple Shine." Mrs. Cake said sweetly.
"Yes ma'am. Like Twi, Ah got pregnant because of the flower few days ago." Applejack explains. "Right now, Ah'm just takin' easy and not try to buck some trees. She's just somepony Ah'm lookin' after while showin' her the ropes."
"Well, she's an adorable little sweetheart, just like Comet." Mrs. Cake said as Apple Shine blushed.
"Aw shucks, Mrs. Cake." Apple Shine said when Applejack chuckled.
"Well, she's a hard-workin' pony, but she's got a temper. Ah'm making sure she had a better life here while livin' with me and mah family." Applejack told her. "Anyway, is it alright if Ah could get some Apple Tarts, and maybe some Apple Fritters please?"
"Absolutely!" Mrs. Cake replied.
Applejack then paid the bits, and then after they received the treats, Applejack whispered into Pinkie Pie's ear as she smiled with glee and rushed into the kitchen. Applejack and Apple Shine started to do one more stroll around town before heading back over to Sweet Apple Acres.
When Applejack and Apple Shine made it back at Sweet Apple Acres, the sun was almost set all the way down behind the hills. Apple Shine was pretty tired today. Applejack stopped walking and looked down at the filly next to her.
"Hey, Apple Shine." Applejack called her, earned her attention. "Why don'tcha open the door?"
"Why?" Apple Shine asked, confused.
"You'll see." Applejack said with a smile.
Though, Apple Shine is nervous while skeptical as she walked up to the barn door. She then opened the barn door inside, it was dark inside.
"Big Mac? Apple Bloom? Mario? Granny Smith?" Apple Shine asks when she called them. "What in tarnation is going here?"
"SURPRISE!?"
Apple Shine jumped and inside of the barn, there were decorations hung from the ceiling, balloons blown up, and few tables that had plates of food on it. There were a lot of ponies inside, and they were smiling at the filly.
"Wh-What is all this?" Apple Shine asks.
"It's your 'Welcome to Ponyville!' party!" The voice of Pinkie Pie said.
Apple Shine looked around the barn to find Pinkie Pie looking down at her with a smile on her face.
"Hi there." Pinkie Pie said. "I put this party together for you! Like I did with Comet Stardust! Were you surprised?! Huh huh huh?!"
"Ah was." Apple Shine said. "But how is it possible? And how did everyone get here?"
"Well." Pinkie Pie starts explaining. "I know everyone here in Ponyville, and I know I've seen you yesterday, and I've never seen you before or have, then that means you're usually new here, like Comet. Applejack whispered into my ear for something special, and I was like (GASP), so I rushed over to the kitchen at Sugercube Corner, asked Mr. and Mrs. Cake for helping me with some treats, rushed over here and told the Apple family we needed to put together a party for you! Do you like it?!"
"Ah do." Apple Shine nods with a smile as her eyes started filling up. "Thanks, Pinkie."
Apple Shine then walked up to her and hugged her.
"Aw." Pinkie Pie said, smiled and returning the hug. "You're welcome, Apple Shine."
After Pinkie Pie broke the hug, she brought Apple Shine over to the floor. She saw Twilight Sparkle, Comet Stardust, Mario Star, and Apple Bloom.
"Hello, Apple Shine. Are you enjoying Ponyville?" Twilight asks with a smile.
"Ah am." Apple Shine nods. "Applejack showed me around in Ponyville, and Ah even met the Cakes. She told me about you, Mario."
"Did she now?" Mario asks with a chuckle.
"Eeyup, Ah thought yer her coltfriend, but she told me you two are related." Apple Shine said when Mario and Twilight chuckled.
"Well, yeah, it'll be mite awkward for Applejack dating with Mario when they're siblings." Apple Bloom told her with a giggle.
Apple Shine's stomached growled which it got them chuckled.
"You, Apple Bloom, and Comet better get something, we'll check up with you three later." Mario told her.
Apple Shine nodded when she, Apple Bloom, and Comet Stardust went over to the snack table. While they're getting some treats, someone started talking.
"Excuse me." The voice said. "You two are Comet Stardust and Apple Shine, right?"
Both Comet Stardust and Apple Shine looked next to them and saw a mare.
She has a moderate cerise fur coat with pale light grayish rose mane and tail with light ceriseish gray stripes, and grayish harlequin. Her cutie mark was three smiling faced flowers.
"Yes, we are." Comet confirms. "And who are you?"
"My name is Cheerilee." Cheerilee introduces herself. "I happen to be the school teacher at the Ponyville Schoolhouse."
"Oh that's right, Applejack mention about you and the school in Ponyville." Comet said.
"Ah've seen that school once, it's only a couple miles away at Sweet Apple Acres." Apple Shine adds.
"That's right, Apple Shine." Cheerliee confirms.
"But how did ya know our names?" Apple Shine asks.
"Applejack told me about you both, you two are interesting kids." Cheerilee said with a smile, but turned to sad. "She also told me of what happen to you both and...I am sorry to hear that. Also, I thought I would like to meet you both, face-to-face."
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Ms. Cheerilee." Comet replied when Apple Shine nods.
Cheerilee smiled warmly at his politeness.
"It's nice to meet you both." Cheerilee said. "I'll be seeing you both at school."
"We'll be there, Ms. Cheerilee." Apple Shine replied.
Cheerilee nods with a smile and walked away.
Few hours later and later that night, Comet Stardust and Twilight Sparkle were first to leave early while few of the ponies were leaving the barn or helping clean up. After few minutes, most of the ponies said goodbye and welcome to Equestria to Apple Shine as they left. Pinkie Pie was the last one.
"So, Apple Shine." Pinkie Pie called her, earned her attention. "Did you enjoy the party?"
"Ah did." Apple Shine nods with a smile. "Thank you."
Pinkie Pie picked the filly up and hugged her again. After Pinkie Pie puts her down, she bounces out of the barn.
"Goodnight, Apple Shine!" Pinkie Pie said happily.
"Night, Pinkie!" Apple Shine replied, then yawned after Pinkie Pie left. Apple Shine was really tired.
"Tired, sugarcube?" Applejack asks with a smile.
Apple Shine looked behind her and saw Applejack standing there.
"Yeah, Ah am." Apple Shine nods.
"Let's get ya to bed." Applejack suggests. "You've had a long day."
Apple Shine nodded and Applejack picked her up, by bit the back of her neck, placed the filly on her back, and walked inside of the barn.
Later that night after Applejack and Apple Shine got cleaned up, they went to bed.
"Goodnight, Apple Shine." Applejack said with a smile.
"Goodnight...Ma..." Apple Shine mumbled.
It got Applejack froze with her eyes widen, didn't expect the filly called her 'Mom'. She then give a smile and kissed her in the forehead. Even though, Applejack feel bad for Apple Shine since she died for being bit by a timber rattlesnake after her old family tried to help her get vaccinated when it's already too late. Big Mac and Mario are the uncles of Apple Shine.
Apple Bloom is the aunt of Apple Shine.
Granny Smith is the...Ah you get the ideas.
And so on and so forth of the Apple Family.
