Heather was infuriated, she was trapped in a hole with Cody, and she couldn't really climb out of it either since it was so low to the ground.

It was one of Chris' stupid challenges, they had to go in the mines to find Ezekiel so they could get him some mental help, she was surprised to find that Chris was concerned about the homeschooler but she didn't question it.

She of course, partnered up with Cody given she actually liked him but there was also a problem. It was that she really liked him.

It's not like Cody was her only friend in the show. She was on pretty good terms with Harold, DJ, and Sierra as well. However Cody made her feel more like herself than any of her friends and had some part of him that was charming to Heather.

The problem is that Cody doesn't feel the same way about her, and she knows it. How could he ever love her? She was too high strung and cold at times, the only one who could be attracted to her were people like Alejandro and even he got over her after a while.

"So… I guess we're stuck here." Cody laughed nervously.

Heather sighed in annoyance at this, it would take a lot of effort to hide her feelings from Cody now that they were literally closer to each other than ever.

"Hey, cheer up Heather. So what if we don't win invincibility. People will probably either vote off Jo, Courtney, or Mal." Cody chuckled nervously.

For context, Mal was an evil personality Mike had, he was posing as Mike and was just exposed recently.

"Yeah… I guess that's a good thing." Heather smiled sheepishly.

Cody raises an eyebrow and begins speaking up, "Are you okay Heather?"

"Huh?" Cody's question caught Heather off guard but then she scoffed, "I'm fine Cody. It just sucks we won't win immunity."

"I know you well Heather. You're normally more angry when invincibility is out of your reach. Something's really eating you up. You've been acting strange recently." Cody pointed out.

Heather was shocked Cody could read her so well, though she guessed they had been hanging out for a year.

"Ugh, fine. I'll tell you but you gotta swear you won't hate me after this." Heather groaned.

"Heather. I would never hate you." Cody reassured her warmly.

"Okay then. So over the past year I've been hanging out with you. I've started to feel weird but the good kind." Heather began speaking, "How do I put this? I… like you Cody, as more than a friend."

Cody blinked with his eyes wide when he heard this which wasn't a good sign to Heather.

"I guess I should've expected that. After all it's even surprising you're even my friend after all the crap I did." Heather sighed.

"Heather, I'm not mad or even upset. I'm actually kinda thrilled." Cody smiled with a chuckle.

"Wait really?" Heather asked in shock.

"Yeah! I just never thought you'd fall for me of all people." Cody admitted before raising an eyebrow, "Why do you like me anyway? I'm not exactly the ideal boyfriend."

"Well Cody, to be honest. I don't know how I fell for you but you were so sweet to me, you have a lot of geeky qualities that are endearing to me somehow and I don't know, I just clicked with you more than I ever had with people like Harold or DJ." Heather admitted.

"Aw." Cody blushed, "That's the nicest thing I've heard you say."

"Yeah yeah yeah. Can we cut the mushiness and you tell me why you like me now? It confuses me as well." Heather said harshly.

"Alright then." Cody chuckled before speaking, "Honestly Heather, back on the Island, I didn't find you that appealing. You were attractive but you weren't exactly the nicest."

"Okay, what are you getting at?" Heather asked angrily.

"Let me finish." Cody said, "After World Tour, I saw a change in you. You started acting a bit nicer to me and the others and once we started hanging out you showed me the real you, the one who likes num-yos and glitter glue and actually being a good person. That's why I fell for you Heather, because I found the real you."

Heather blushes at Cody's words and began speaking, "Cody, I…"

Soon a loud voice called down, "Hey! You two alright down there?!"

It appeared to be Chef, who lowered a rope down for Heather and Cody.

"Uh… yeah. We're fine." Cody blushed.

"Well good. Get yo'selves up here! Jo won the challenge! Y'all gotta find someone to vote off the show!" Chef commanded as Heather and Cody grabbed the rope.

He began pulling the rope to help Cody and Heather get back up as Heather began thinking on how elimination would go, but she knew that no matter what happened, that today was probably the best day of her life as she finally confessed her feelings for Cody.

Although if Mal or Courtney were to be eliminated, she wouldn't be opposed to that.

Author's Note: Sorry if I made Heather too mushy, I wanted to show that she was improving herself but I hope this fic was satisfying.
