Ghoul Break, With Family and Friends:
Mini Chapter: King's Rival

King clapped as he watched his big sister go down the slide and use one of her combos to launch herself into the air. The "knocked-down" demon laughed and was about to follow Luz.

"Well, well, if it isn't my old rival."

"Weh?" startled, King turned around and saw his own rival, standing over him.

(for easy reading, he would be known as Snotty from this point)

The young witch with the constant nose drip was staring down at the shrunken demon and looking quite menacing. Snotty had his fingertips pressed together and grinning like a true tyrant.

"You seem a little smaller than when we last meant," Snotty said menacingly.

King, in a bout of childish emotions, decided it was best to save this for another time and bolt. Unfortunately, in a bout of childish logic, he tried to run to the ladder instead of going down the slide.

Snotty was on King in an instant and with a not-so-playful shove, pushed the small demon into the center of the slide's platform. Suddenly, two other kids appeared from the shadows and surrounded him. King started to shake a little as the trio looked down at him.

"This is how you should be-," Snotty said condescendingly. "-At my feet."

The young witch began to laugh in triumph and soon, his lackeys were laughing with him. King, in a near panic attack, was trying to find a way out. He quickly found it; a small gap between Snotty's two lackeys, large enough for his current small body to slip through.

King took the opening and bolted for the slide. He realized too late that it was a trap; Snotty's lackeys suddenly closed the gap and took him hostage. They held him in place as Snotty walked up to him.

"You are beaten," Snotty proclaimed truimphully. "And I shall take your friend as my queen!"

Snotty and his lackey began to cackle wickedly, but King didn't hear it. All he could hear is a ringing growing ever louder and his vision blurring red.

If there was one thing the King of Demon would not tolerate was someone claiming his big sister!

King began to squirm, trying to call forth all of the strength his tiny body held. He even began to growl, which came ou more like a squeak. Snotty was enjoying the scene; watching as his rival was helpless before him. He leaned in close, ready to continue his taunting.

Suddenly, King let out a mighty roar, and that triggered his sonic blast. Thankfully, King's younger state meant his newly discovered power wasn't powerful enough cause any real him…it just sent Snotty flying out of the slide.

Snotty's lackeys, deciding they didn't want to play anymore, let King go and ran. King, for his part, looked at where his rival stood and let everything sink in. He did it, he finally did it! He finally took down the usurper!

And best of all he saved his big sister!

He felt like dancing! He felt like singing, he felt…something wrapped around his little paw.

"WEH!" he screamed as he was thrown into the air and into the arms of the fleeing Lilith.

He giggled when he felt his big sister wrap him in a warm hug, no doubt brought on by his ultimate victory against the usurper. Soon, both toddlers were laughing heartily as they recalled fond memories of doing something like this with their mama.

The laughter was infectious, as Lilith found herself laughing and gave into a wild side she didn't know she had; she even blew a raspberry at Warden Wraith as she ran by him.

I think it's a safe bet that no other messes with the Clawthorne family, something I believe Gwen might learn in the not so distant future.
