Tumblr Game 2:
(2nd Drabble Dump)
There will probably be one or two more dumps before I can get back to working on the requests
Ginger
"Damn Daniel! Back at it-" Randy didn't get much further before a pillow came and smacked him in the face.
Danny glared from the bed. "If you value your life you will not finish that sentence, Cunningham. I've heard enough of it from Tucker."
Jake sniggered next to him. "I wouldn't be surprised if Tuck made that up himself."
"I'm sure it wasn't that bad." Adrien said, attention on his phone.
"I heard it every time I was Phantom. Even the ghosts started doing it! Technus is still doing it!"
"He's just outdated." Randy grinned and threw the pillow back. "Dude, you are so popular that you're a meme! That is the brucest!"
"I couldn't wear white shoes for like a month!"
Adrien shrugged. "It was after Labor Day anyways so it shouldn't have that big of a deal."
Jazz poked her head in at Danny's dramatic groan. He ginger hair pulled up into a ponytail. "Everything okay?"
"Did you know Danny is a meme?" Jake asked.
Jazz's eyes brightened as she fully came into the room, "Actually I did! It fascinated me from a psychological viewpoint on the effect the meme had on Phantom's popularity. Particularly with adolescents. Danny actually had a rise in popularity that was directly correlated to the creation of that meme and the first time it was used in his presence as Phantom."
The four boys stared at her.
"Did you really psychoanalyze me as meme?" Danny asked incredulously.
Wes
"Hey Danny? Someone's staring at you from those bushes."
Danny looked up with frown in the direction Adrien was pointing at. He glimpsed some ginger hair and binoculars before they disappeared into the foliage.
He snorted. "Oh that's just Wes."
Danny flipped off the bushes with a smirk and his friends could hear someone yell, "Damn you Fenton!"
Jake tapped his chin, "Yo isn't he the kid that had a crush on you? Or was it the other way around?"
"Neither but I can still give him grief over it." Danny said.
Randy looked over where the binoculars we're slowly rising to peek over the bush. "Yeesh. What's that shoob's deal anyways?"
"Conspiracy Theorist." Danny grinned, "He spent all of third grade trying to prove our teacher was Bigfoot. Now he's trying to convince our entire class I'm Phantom."
Adrien looked part confused part worried. "But….you are Phantom."
Danny's grin got bigger. "I know, it's great. I terrorize him all the time with it. You should have seen what happened when I finally learned to duplicate. I couldn't look at him for month without laughing."
Jake hummed. "You think he knows about us?"
"Probably." Danny ignored Adrien and Randy's squawks of surprise, "I mean he's the only one who ever figured out my secret without ever seeing me so I wouldn't put it past him. Why? You wanna screw with him too?"
"Naw, I get my pettiness filled by messing with Rotwood."
They watched Wes some more, as he finally stood up and glared at them before marching off.
Randy looked over at Danny, "Why did his shirt say 'It's not gay if he's dead'?"
"I thought I burned all those! WES!"
Disability
Randy stared at the report card in his hand.
His mother say in front of him, tapping her fingers on the desk.
"I'm not mad. I know this is difficult for you and you've been working really hard to bring your grades up. I just think we should hire a tutor dear."
"No."
"We have to do something." She rubbed her eyes. "You could ask your friends for help."
"No."
"Well we have to do something. Me and your father would love to be here and help you with your homework, but we just aren't home enough and Mrs. Graham and the others have work they have to do." His mom reached a hand out and pressed the card to the table, her hand covering it. "Many people have reading disabilities, it nothing to be ashamed of."
Randy groaned and slumped in his chair, having heard this whole speech before. "Mom, it's not that."
His mom sighed, before getting up and walking over to him. She kissed his head and gave him a hug. "Just think about it. For me?"
"Kay," he mumbled.
….
The next day Randy found himself taking a portal to Jake's room.
He fell on Jake's bed, before scrambling up and walking downstairs.
"Hey Mrs. Long! Hey Firebreath." He said as he slid into the kitchen.
"Sup PJs."
"Hi Randy." Mrs. Long gestured to the counter. "Do you want a snack? I'm almost done making them."
Randy didn't know what it was, but he didn't really care. Mrs. Long made amazing food. "Yes. Yes I do!"
Mrs. Long turned back to the food and Jake waved him over. "So what up? You said needed help with something?"
Randy ducked his head, "Ah, yeah. I got my report card yesterday, and I just kinda need some extra help."
"'Course I'll help. But you should probably ask Adrien about anything even remotely resembling physics. My knowledge tanks at that."
Randy smiled at that. "No, I just need a little help reading. I'm not that great at it."
"Yo that I can definitely help with. Spud has trouble reading sometimes too. He's dyslexic so the letters and words get a little mixed up while he's reading. Me and Trix helped him all through elementary and middle school."
"He is?" Randy looked up at that. "I uh, I am too."
"Well this be a breeze. If you want I'll call them over and we'll make it a proper study group."
Randy grinned brightly. "That'd be the cheese."
Percentage
(Me: "I hate writing angst, I'm terrible at it, none of the emotions come out right I SO prefer writing stories that make people smile or laugh and brighten their day, I do not write angst, sorry no angst from me go look somewhere else cause I don't do angst"
Me: *writes Adrien finds out his dad is Hawkmoth angst at 3 am*)
Danny floated through the wall of his room, gingerly rotating his injured wrist.
"Next time I see Skulker," he muttered to himself, flopping down on his bed, "I'll make sure Box Ghost or someone equally as annoying is stuffed in the thermos with him."
With a sigh he transformed, letting the bright rings travel over him before blindly reaching down to pick up the first aid kit.
Instead his fingers were stopped by a head full of soft blonde hair. Danny flinched at the unexpected interruption and pulled his hand back.
"Adrien?"
His friend was in a curled up position on the floor next to Danny's bed, face hidden from the world as he pressed it into his knees. Plagg was smushing himself as close as he could to Adrien's hidden cheek.
Danny reached back down to grip Adrien's shoulder, worry churning in his stomach. "What happened?"
Adrien curled his limbs further into himself, but picked his head up to look over his shoulder at Danny.
Danny, who saw his friend's glassy and dull eyes that were still red from crying and felt his worry turn to panic eating at his nerves.
"How do you stay here?" Adrien asked quietly.
Danny slid down to the floor, settling to where he was face to face with Adrien. "What do you mean?"
Adrien tilted his head towards Danny's bedroom door. "How do you stay here with your parents? They spend all their free time hunting you….how can you stay here with them?"
That was a question Danny had asked himself multiple times, usually when his mood plummeted and everytime he looked in the mirror he saw an enemy starting back at him. The times in between the ghost fights and the comfort of his friends and sister. When he's woken up from the little sleep he gets because of nightmares of a timeline he made sure would never come to pass.
Yeah, he's bitterly asked himself why should he stay in a house where his parents don't accept the real him.
But then he'd come downstairs at three in the morning with red eyes and shaky hands trying to pour a glass of milk, and his mother would meet him there and pull him in a hug. Neither of them would say a word. She would just pull him in and hold him and Danny wouldn't cry. His dad would appear later, completely silent despite his bulk, and hand him his glass and a plate of fudge. He'd ruffle Danny's hair and send him back to bed with a pat on the shoulder and a worried smile. Jazz would meet him in the hallway outside her door with tired eyes and sleep mussed hair. She'd pull him in and give him a kiss on the forehead, accompanied by a gentle "Sweet dreams Little Brother."
Even a small percentage of those little moments answer him better than words ever could.
But Adrien? Adrien didn't get to have those moments.
Danny reached forward and cupped Adrien's face, forcing him to meet his eyes. "What happened?" He said forcefully.
Adrien's already glassy eyes started to fill with tears.
"I don't feel safe," he gasped.
Discipline
Randy took a deep breath through his nose, and let it back out.
He waited one beat….two beats….
"Nope!" Randy through his hands in the air and opened his eyes. "Can not do this!"
Jake let out a noise of frustration and opened his eyes. "Cunningham it's been two minutes."
Randy groaned and flopped back on the floor. "Two minutes, forever, same difference!"
"To-MAY-to, po-TAH-to," Spud muttered under his breath.
"Thank you Spud you are a true friend." Randy said, throwing a hand up for an air five, "The french fries to my salt."
Without looking up from his computer, Spud threw his hand out and made a slapping sound with his mouth, pretending to hit Randy's open palm from across the room.
Jake buried his head in his hands.
"If it helps, Nomicon and First Ninja say I have discipline problems."
Jake mumbled into his hands, "Is that all they say?"
"Pretty much the only thing those shoobs will say to my face."
Jake giggled, lifting his head up, "Man does that sound familiar. Okay, maybe we should try a different kind of meditation since this isn't working."
"Acupuncture!" Was Spud's not-actually-that-helpful-suggestion.
Randy's face lit up.
"Wha-? No! Nope, nuh-uh, no needles! That's all kinds a whack! No, bad idea!"
Wings
(The Miraculous Holders AU*)
When Jake was 13, he was given a box. It was made of old wood, worn smooth by generations of fingers passing over the dragon design on the front. Inside it was a test.
Jake looked at the box in his hands before looking back at his grandfather, "But Gramps, what if she doesn't wake?"
Lao Shi gave his only grandson a smile, "Then the box will be given to your sister when she turns of age."
Jake made a face and looked back at the box in his hands.
He knew that it contained a miraculous and it's kwami. He knew all about the magical world, his family being a part of it for generations before him. The box being passed down from mothers to sons, fathers to daughters, and occasionally to nieces or nephews or grandchildren. Jake was next in line to receive the mantle his grandfather held before him, if only the kwami would wake for him.
Jake took a breath and opened the box, revealing a small necklace resting on the centuries old velvet. He picked it up gently, undoing the clasp with the utmost care before putting it on. The necklace fit perfectly around his neck and the dark marble like bead hung neatly in the hollow of his throat.
A flash of light momentarily blinded him and he threw his arms up in response. As the light died, he could see a tiny dragon-ish creature no bigger than his palm. Wings gracefully flapped slowly, more out of habit than for a need to fly. She was blue and white, reminding Jake of the pictures and drawings of his grandfather in his youth as the Chinese Dragon.
The kwami swam through the air till she was inches from Jake's face. "What's your name?" She asked in a low and raspy voice.
"Jake."
"Hello Jake," the kwami smiled as her coal black eyes glittered, "I am Maahj."
Then Maahj leaned forward and pressed a kiss on Jake's forehead, immediately filling him with warmth. Red and yellow started seeping from the point where she touched Jake, replacing the blue and white in her scales. Green started to color the tips of her spikes, matching his own hair.
When she leaned back the warmth inside him stayed curled up in his chest, beating with his heart.
She patted his nose, "You have quite the inner fire in you." She grinned sharply, "I think we'll get along just fine."
Jake matched her grin, "So what do I do now?"
"Say Dragon Up!"
...
On the last day of summer, before his first day of high school, Randy's house got broken into. He probably should have been more worried than he actually was (which was not at all), but he was too busy having something totally bruce happen to him.
Randy had just gotten back to his room and noticed a shadow dancing across the floor. His eyes darted to the window just in time to glance blue eyes and a cowboy hat before disappearing completely.
Randy would have been more concerned with stranger danger if he hadn't seen the box sitting on his coffee table that for sure hadn't been there earlier.
He opened the box to see a note saying, "You are the Monkey Ninja."
Randy grinned and let out a shriek, "SWEEEEET!"
He reached into the box to pull out….a book.
Randy frowned and tossed it over his shoulder.
Underneath the book was another small box. Randy picked it up and squinted at it. Shaking it revealed a slight clunking inside.
When he finally opened the box, all he saw was a funky looking symbol and a metal belt with five beads on it.
Randy couldn't figure out how exactly this made him the next Ninja but it was a cool belt so he put it on.
As soon as the ends came together with a click, a bright flash caused Randy to yelp and trip backwards.
When his readjusted to the lights he let out another shriek as he saw a tiny flying thing right in front of his face.
It laughed to itself, flying up and hanging from his ceiling fan. "That never gets old!"
Randy gaped at the little flying thing some more before asking, "What the juice are you?"
"A kwami! I'm how the previous Ninja have all been able to protect Norrisville."
Randy's face lit up and he sprung to his feet, excitedly coming closer to the little monkey. "Oh! Tell me how!"
They smirked at the overeager teenager, before launching into the scripted introduction Nomicon had forced them to do centuries ago.
Norri flew around the room, nosing into Randy's drawers and covers and generally making a nuisance of themselves.
Randy was sitting at his desk, nose scrunched up in confusion and he thought about all the stuff that the little monkey god ("I'm a kwami!") told him five minutes ago.
"Are you absolutely sure I can't tell anyone?" Randy asked.
"Yep!"
"So I can tell Howard!?"
"Nope!"
Randy groaned, throwing himself on the ground, "Man that's wonk."
"No it's called the rules," They said, before laughing to themselves. Randy groaned again.
"Sooooo," Norri drawled flying closer to his newest chosen. "Wanna have a test run?"
...
Click
Danny blinked at the flash cause by Sam's camera.
"It's so cool! A portal to a whole other dimension." She said, "Have you tried going in it?"
Danny just shrugged. "It doesn't even work."
Tucker poked at some of the wires sticking out of the control box. "Do they know what's wrong with it?"
"Just that it wont turn on. They found this weird box and crown thing that's supposed to…. I don't know power it or something. They got really excited when they found it. Guess it was just a crown."
Click
Sam took another picture, a glint appearing in her eye, "You should check it out."
Danny looked at the hexagonal hole in the wall, "I don't know…."
Tucker peeked in it, "Its a portal to another dimension."
"One that doesn't work."
"So it should be perfectly safe to go in!" Sam said.
Danny rolled his eyes, a small smile forming on his face. "It does sound really cool."
He grabbed his spare jumpsuit from the wall, slipping it on. His parents always made sure to keep a jumpsuit for himself and Jazz (despite their constant denials and pleas to stop buying jumpsuits cause they never wore them and never will). He zipped it up and was about to step forward when Sam's hand stopped him.
"You are not going around with that on your chest," she scowled, ripping his dads face from his chest. Danny blushed and mumbled a thanks as Tucker snorted with laughter.
The inside of the portal was much darker than he thought, so he put a hand on the wall to keep from tripping on all the wires on the ground.
Danny got to the end, where a circular object was sitting on a shelf with a few wires laying across it.
His palms itched the longer he looked at it and he reached out to pick it up. A quick tug got it free from the wires and he brought it closer.
A large black gem shaped like a teardrop rested in the center, four smaller gems framing the sides.
Danny turned to shout at his friends, "Check this out!"
Tucker and Sam peeked in as Danny brought the diadem up set it on his head. He slipped down till it rested on the middle of his forehead, almost hidden by his hair.
There was a flash and everything after seemed to happen in slow motion.
Danny tried to step backwards and tripped over a cluster of wires. He flailed his arms out as he tried to catch himself. He felt his hand catch against the wall and push a button.
Danny remembers meeting his friends horrified eyes.
He remembers something small and black flying at him with wide green eyes.
Then there's nothing but pain.
Boots
(This was written in honor of the last day of Pride, featuring my favorite personal headcanons of the boys.)
Jake rummaged through his closet, half listening to the rambling coming from his computer.
"-and it was a honkin' shark! A shark!" Randy's arms flailed off screen as he got to the climax of his story.
Adrien frowned, "Sharks aren't biologically capable of doing that."
Danny snorted, "You turned into a catfish two weeks ago and you're questioning what sharks can do?"
Jake laughed as he leaned back, black and white striped tank top in his hands. "Dawg have you seen some of the things Viceroy comes up with? Just be thankful he didn't create Sharknado."
Randy visibly paled, "Oh gosh I'm going to have nightmares now."
Jake grinned sheepishly, "Sorry PJs."
He leaned back in his closet, tossing the tank top on the bed and rummaging through it some more.
"What are you even doing besides giving our poor pajama boy nightmares?" Danny asked from behind him.
"Looking for my old ally clothes." Jake murmured.
He pulled a black jacket out, tossing it on the bed with his tank top.
He slipped out of his t-shirt and pulled the tank top on. He picked up the black jacket and turned to see three confused faces staring at him from his laptop.
"Pride parade today. Trixie, Spud, and I always go." Jake grinned holding up his jacket so they could read it.
Danny started laughing. "Oh my god, where did you get that?!"
"'I've been straight all my life but there's always tomorrow,'" Adrien read with a grin. "Oh I love it. You are a true ally my friend."
Randy bounced in his seat, "There's a pride parade today? Can we go?"
Adrien got a wistful look on his face, "I've never been to one before."
"Oh we are totally going now, we have too." Danny said, "I'll be there in like five minutes."
His screen went dark and Randy let out a squeal. "This will be so bruce!"
Adrien waved to catch his attention as Randy's screen went dark as well. "It is okay if we come right?"
Jake slipped on the jacket, "Of course man! Trix will be stoked to have you guys here."
"Cool, see you in a minute," Adrien grinned and his screen went dark.
Jake chuckled to himself as he grabbed his wallet and phone. He heard the door open as his friends let themselves in.
"Hey Jakie!" Trixie said as Jake hopped down the stairs. "You ready?"
"Yeah but the guys are coming with, so we're waiting on them. Looking good Trix."
Trixie had thrown on a yellow shirt and some orange shorts, with black combat boots on her feet. She had sprayed some green costume hairspray on her hair and had glitter scattered lightly across her cheekbones.
"She kills it every year doesn't she?" Spud asked.
"Heck yeah she does." The boys grinned at her while she rolled her eyes. "Same as usual Spud?"
"Why mess with perfection?" Spud said, gesturing to his shirt which just had 'IDK'.
There was a loud crash from upstairs, followed by Randy yelling "I'm okay and nothing's broken!"
Randy ran downstairs in a blur of pink, yellow, blue, and glitter.
"Dawg did you take a bath in glitter?" Jake asked incredulously.
Danny and Adrien came downstairs after him, Adrien's face sporting a red blush.
"Yeah it's all over your room." Danny said, "And the hallway, and your stairs."
Adrien tugged on the bi flag he wore as a cape, "He also got some on us and he'll get some on you just be standing too close."
"But look on the bright side!" Danny said, "Adrien came out of the closet!"
Adrien went red again, "It's not my fault the portal spat me out in Jake's closet!"
The others burst out laughing.
Randy bumped Danny's shoulder, getting glitter all over his blue, pink, and white striped shirt. "How long have you been waiting to use that pun?"
"Forever!"
Trixie clapped to get the boys attention, "Well? Are we going to go or not?"
Soda
(I realized I hadn't mentioned any Zoolander and was so mad at myself.)
It was Jake who had asked Adrien the question.
"Can you do the Blue Steel?"
Danny immediately inhaled his soda, choking on it and making a mess of himself. Randy started laughing at both Danny and Jake's question.
Adrien blinked giving them a confused look, "The...what?"
Jake started grinning, "You know, the Blue Steel."
Randy jumped up next to Adrien, "It's this."
He then proceeded to make a face, pursing out his lips. Adrien scrunched his nose and leaned away.
Jake shook his head, "No no no. Dawg you're doing it wrong. It like this."
He then proceeded to make the exact same face as Randy.
Danny was of no help as he was recovering from having his drink shoot up his nose.
Adrien looked between the two, "Is this another American thing?"
Jake and Randy dropped the looks to groan at him.
Danny coughed a few times, his eyes watering, "No it's a male model thing and we're going to watch it right now."
"Okay?"
"We have to watch the second one too!" Jake exclaimed.
Randy patted his shoulder, "You'll either find it hilarious or be extremely offended on behalf of male models everywhere."
Discreet
(This is some next gen kinda stuff cause I'm weak and love them. Lucas, Lilith, Terry, Lynn, and Dray are mine*. Emma belongs to toriitorii on Tumblr however most of my knowledge of her comes from miracusims also on Tumblr.)
Six teens were sitting awkwardly in the bedroom, none of them sure of what they were supposed to be doing.
Emma Agreste had claimed the desk chair, resting her chin on the chair's back and pouting at her phone. When her dad had asked her to tag along for some father-daughter bonding time, visiting his old American friends wasn't exactly on her mind.
Terry Cunningham was curled up in a beanbag chair with a portable game, mashing the buttons half-heartedly. His best friend Lynn Weinerman was leaning against his bag, smirking as she viscously destroyed her friend on her own game.
Lucas and Lilith Fenton were making themselves comfortable on the futon beneath the bed, having been to the house enough before to be relaxed. The twins were on their phones, texting their friends back home.
Dray Long was lounging on their bed above the futon, observing all the guests in their room quietly.
Laughter drifted up from below them as their fathers reminisced in the kitchen.
"Nice ring."
Dray's quiet comment to Emma caught the attention of the bored teens.
She discreetly moved her hand to her lap, hiding the white ring. "Um, thanks."
Lynn frowned, "It looks familiar. I swear I've seen it before."
Emma couldn't help rolling her eyes, "I doubt it. It's one-of-a-kind."
"Your dad gave it to you, right?" Dray asked.
"Noooo," Emma frowned, "Why would you say that?"
Lilith's eyes lit up, "Oh! I recognize it to! Dray where's that old picture of our dads from way back then?"
Dray pointed to his desk and Lucas got up to rummage through it.
Lynn started to move towards Emma, squinting at her hand. Emma throws her hands behind her back with a scowl.
Lucas pulled out a bunch of old photos, flicking through them till he found the right one. "Here."
He handed it to Emma as everyone else abandoned their seats to peer at the photo in her hands.
Emma's eyes go wide as she spots her father at her age with the same ring resting on his finger.
Dray gives her a curious look, "You didn't know Adrien was the Chat Noir before you?"
*Miraculous Holders AU was an au that was brought up on Tumblr and I fell in love with it. You'll probably end up seeing more of it cause I really do love writing it. Check out the secretquartet tumblr blog for more info on it.
*Even though I created Dray, Lucas, and Lilith I hadn't written anything for them yet. Terry and Lynn however had some oneshots in Ninjavember 2016 so you can check those out if you like them.
Also I'm still mad at the Zoolander thing I could have been dropping references this entire time.
