Ada met them as they landed on a small airport, hidden in the forest. Cara almost wished to sign, just seeing the woman made her angry. Ada had been gone for such a long time, only visiting very short moments and when she did she never saw her, but as it was now, she was impossible to avoid. The woman was the one who knew about this place, the virus and everything else. Sure Wesker knew some, but Cara doubted that he knew everything, since she suspected that Ada kept some things secret from him.

"Leon arrived a few hours ago," was the first thing Ada said when they got closer and Cara actually sighed this time. There was always someone there, someone irritating. Sure Leon was far from the worst, but she could have done without him. "I overheard some villagers muttering something about a prisoner, and my guess is that wonder boy is looking for that person."

"Have you been able to infiltrate Salazar's gang?" Wesker asked and Ada shook her head.

"No, it would be impossible for me to get close without him wondering who I am," Wesker gave her a disappointing look and Cara understood him.

Ada had been away for such a long time that she should have been able, however, Cara doubted that the woman would ever go in directly into a situation, no matter how much time she had. Ada didn't felt like the person who went undercover, preferring to collect information by sneaking around or by getting close to someone on the inside. Cara could understand it to some extent, seeing it was easier to get out, and you didn't put yourself in as much danger as you did when you went undercover. However, you were dependent on others and could never be sure if the intel was correct or not.

"Let's hope that my contact on the inside knows more than you seem to know," Wesker told her and Cara glanced at her husband, unaware that he had anyone on the inside. He hadn't mentioned anything, and she couldn't understand why, but she knew better than asking now. But seeing that Ada almost seemed to be offended, if only for a second, that Wesker had someone else here, pleased her.

"Here is a map of the village and the surrounding areas," Ada said and handed it over to Wesker even if it was far from needed. The map had been included in the files the woman sent them and they had already studied it.

"You have your orders, so spread out!" Wesker told his men who nodded at once and started to prepare to head out. "I want you to search for the parasite, it will be close to Salazar."

Ada nodded, if a bit reluctant, before she headed out and Cara turned towards Ethan who was leaning against a wall.

"Locate Leon and see if you can find whomever he is searching for, also be on the lookout for the parasite, seeing he is most likely searching for that as well," she told the man who smirked.

"Any other obvious order you want to give me? Or any other evident thing I should search for?"

"Don't die, and some tea would be nice," she teased him and Ethan chuckled.

"I will see what I can do," with those words he disappeared towards the village and she turned towards Wesker.

"Care to inform me who's your informant?"

"His name is Jack, he contacted me a while ago, offering his service."

"And you thought I didn't need to know this when we went here?" Cara tilted her head a bit puzzled and Wesker seemed as equal baffled.

"I simply never share all my information, never have," he said as it was obvious and she rolled her eyes.

"Do as you please, I know how to adapt to most situations, but it would be nice to get all the data when it comes to the assignment."

"It was simply information you didn't need in order to go on the mission," he told her almost sounding irritated that she pointed it out and she sighed.

"Always the same," she met his eyes. "It may not be information I need, but as your wife, I like to know at least everything about what we do, needed or not."

Wesker seemed to take it into consideration and she sighed but didn't comment as she walked towards the house Ada had rented for them. She had gotten used to Wesker not telling her everything, yet it irritated her, more than normally. She was unsure of why, maybe because they were married now and in contrast to her other marriages where they shared more or less everything, this was different. She knew it would be, and she didn't want Wesker to change and force himself to speak to her, yet she would have preferred if he opened up a bit more to her.

She almost sighed once more over how she behaved, like a cranky girlfriend or a youth, and she was neither so she needed to collect herself. However, as she entered the house with the dogs by her side she got more irritated when Wesker continued ignoring her, and she almost wished she had gone with Ethan, or at this point stayed home with Barry and Sherry. Barry was far from keen on going on any mission at the moment, and Sherry was just thrilled that someone stayed with her, and so was Wesker even if he didn't say anything, but Cara missed Barry. She and Wesker worked well together and she loved working with him, but she and Barry had more fun in the past, something she needed now. In all honesty she wasn't really needed here, or well she never was on any of the mission, she only came because of Wesker and that she wished to accompany him, but as he went straight to work and ignored her she regretted it.

God why was she so irritated? Wesker didn't act differently than he normally did, but maybe she was just more frustrated since she didn't have a clear role here. She didn't know why Wesker had decided to stay back as his men went and searched for the parasite, he normally would be right in the middle of it, and so would she, but this was different. For a second she wondered if Wesker thought of this mission as more dangerous, and that was why they stayed back. Well that was almost a ridiculous idea. Sure if it was true, she appreciated the thought of him wishing to protect her, but she wasn't some unexperienced newbie who would get killed at once. So why were they just sitting here? God she wished Wesker had told her something about this fucking mission, or that she had at least asked. But she had simply thought he would inform her when they got there.

Maybe she had herself to blame, she was old enough to know better. She should never count on anyone to give her information, no she should collect it herself! However, it felt strange that she would need to either ask her husband directly, well in this case it felt like she would need to force him to tell her, or look through what document he had collected. She felt how she became irritated once more, this was so idiotic. She was here without needing to, Wesker didn't tell her anything, and she just got more frustrated for every second that went by.

"You are angry," Wesker stated without looking at her, and she couldn't determent if he was amused, puzzled or irritated by it, maybe all three.

"Why am I here? You don't need the emotional support, you clearly aren't going into the field where you need a partner, and you don't seem interested in telling me anything, which I actually thought you would when we got here," she honestly told him.

"I informed you that you simply don't need to know everything," he said in the same voice he had used when he was her captain back in Raccoon City.

"Wesker I don't know anything, well besides that we are here for some parasite, I don't even know why, and I don't really care. If you feel like you need it for something, I will help you get it if I can, but I would still like to know what the plan is, like why we are just sitting in this house, and especially why I am here."

"You are here because you offered," it was clear that he started to get frustrated by her questions and rather focus on whatever he was reading, which seemed to make him concerned.

"Oh thank you, I had no idea," she muttered sarcastic which made Wesker look at her, clearly irritated at her by now. Cara glared back at him, only to see that he really was concerned, behind all the anger and she stood up and walked over. Wesker followed her with his gaze and she could tell that he was wondering what she would do, and he almost seemed to expect the worst. Cara almost shook her head as she took the papers from his hand, glanced at them briefly only to see a lot of schematics she couldn't understand without context. But she ignored them and placed the papers on the table and took Wesker's hands.

"You are clearly troubled by something, what it is I have no idea about," she wished to say it was because he hadn't told her, but she didn't. "But being short with me isn't the solution here, at least not without reason. I have told you before, simply tell me when you are busy, or if something is bothering you, but don't treat me like I am just another irritating soldier. I want to help you if I can, and if I can't, let me at least help you feel better."

Wesker met her eyes as he removed his glasses and rubbed the corner of his eyes, clearly tired, but he relaxed and leaned his head against her stomach, and she hugged him.

"You are too perfect dear heart," he mumbled and she giggled.

"Pfft, not really, I almost punched you just now, before I calmed myself down and remembered that I need to approach you differently than most. You really drive me crazy sometimes, you know that."

"It is never my intention," he admitted and she stroke his hair. "I think I am still adjusting to having a partner who isn't following my every order."

"Well if I did that I wouldn't have been your partner, I would have been your pet, and you would get bored with me after a while, and most likely kill me."

"You know me so well," Wesker lifted his eyes to meet hers and she kissed him.

"It's because I took the time to get to know you, still do, because you are refusing to let me in fully," she kissed him again before he could answer. "Don't apologise for it, I know how you were when I chose to stay with you."

"Sometimes I wonder if you are even real, or if you are a spy sent by someone to destroy me," for a second she heard sorrow and worry in his voice, and she wondered how often he worried about that.

"Pfft as I would ever work for some shitty organisation in this world, or pretend to love someone to get information. I would just torture the person if I wanted intel," she honestly said, as she tried to joke and Wesker smiled towards her. "And you know that it's okay to be concerned, I won't think less of you if you ever tell me something that bothers you. You can simply talk to me about whatever you want. I have no idea what you have gone through, not really and I don't need to know, but I know that it has fucked you up in some ways, and that's okay."

Wesker looked at her, seemingly unsure of what to think, as he thought of what to say.

"How do you know?" He finally asked and she smirked at him.

"Well first of all, you know some of the shit I have gone through, so some things you just recognise in others, and do not take this the wrong way, but you could never do the things you do if someone hadn't fucked you up. If you hadn't lived at an orphan and instead with two loving parents, I think you would have chosen another life. I don't think this is the wrong life for you, and I do not pity you, saying that you missed out or were forced into this life, because I don't think that, but most normal people can't lure people who were their friends into a trap and then kill them."

"You killed Chris without thinking," he commented and she giggled.

"Case in point, I am far from normal. I once was, and if I had grown up with only Sev, and then later married Simon, I wouldn't be who I am today. I won't say I am happy that I have gone through what I have gone through, but I don't dwell on it, and I rarely stop and think about how much it fucked me up, but it happens. I have told you about some of the things and you have never judge me, and I want you to know that you can do the same."

Wesker simply looked at her for a long time before he pulled her into his lap and kissed her deeply, they were both panting when they separated and Cara smiled at him. She could see that he was thinking about his options, so she made it easy for him.

"The house has a bed, we have time before your men will report back, and we can talk later if you want," she said as she pressed herself down on his erection, which made Wesker bite her lip, hard, before he lifted her up and carried her to the bedroom.

Wesker was lying next to her, feeling as satisfied as she was, and he was lazily drawing small circles on her back with his fingers. Cara had closed her eyes and she could almost fall asleep, feeling completely safe in the arms of her husband, forgetting why she had been angry before.

"We are here because I need the parasite for my research," he started and she hummed in response. "I hope it will help me create another virus."

"Okay, then let's get the parasite," she simply answered, not caring to much about why he needed it.

"That's all you are going to answer? You were more than angry at me before for not telling you anything," Wesker teased and she looked up at him.

"It is all I need to know. If you need this for your work, I accept that. I don't need to know what the work is, why this particularly parasite is important or anything else. I just wanted a simple answer. You are right when you say I don't need to know everything about the mission, I just want to know more than your men, and basic things like you having a man on the inside."

"Hm, I am surprised, maybe I shouldn't be, but it is unusual to have someone who wants to know somethings, but not everything. Birkin always wanted to know everything, at least when it came to work. I feel like William feared that I would have come up with something he hadn't, or get too far ahead and leave him behind. So every time we saw each other, he wanted me to tell me everything. Christopher was the opposite, he never asked, he was curious about some things, but still never asked. I admit that it sometimes drove me crazy, more than Williams wish to know everything."

"Can I be honest?" She lifted herself up on her elbows and met his yellow eyes.

"Always."

"None of them were perfect for you, or even really understood you. I know that you at least felt something for them, so you may not see it the same way I do. It was clear that William loved you to some extent, and I will not talk ill about the dead, at least not too much, but he simply wanted someone that could match him at work. I am sure that you two did grate things together, but he didn't want a partner in the same way I think you did, he simply wanted someone to work with. That may be one of the reasons he chose Annett in the end. She was his wife, but he saw her more as a lab partner, and when he could get away from work, well I could tell that he loved you in some ways. However, work was always more important to him than you ever were," she started and she could tell that Wesker reflected over what she said.

"And Chris, well he's another type of idiot. He idolised you, he thought you were perfect, someone who could do everything, and he wanted to be like you. He realised that he never could, but he didn't know why. He couldn't figure out that you are willing to do things he never would, or maybe he didn't dare to ask. He wanted you to live up to this perfect picture he had of you, and my guess is that every time you didn't, a part of him shattered and that may be why he cheated on you. Sure you had an argument, but you normally don't sleep with someone else due to that, so I guess that whatever you argued about made him realise that you weren't as perfect as he thought you to be. He still wanted to be with you, because even if you couldn't live up to his dreams, no one else came close. That's why he tried to make you forgive him after you broke up. He wanted to be with you, because you were everything he wanted to be, or thought he wanted to be, and I guess he hoped that he could transform into you one day. But he would never have accepted the real you."

"Is this your way to let me know that you are perfect for me," he teased and she smiled towards him. However, even if Wesker's voice was light she could tell that her words had affected him in a negative way. It was so easy to miss things about people when you loved them, and hearing them from someone else could be difficult.

"Better than they were, however, I will never pretend to be perfect for anyone, because if you do, you stop working on yourself and to be better for the one you love. And you do deserve the best!" Cara wasn't sure why she suddenly had become so sappy, maybe it was because Wesker had sounded so unsure before, like he thought someone would try to get close to him by pretending to love him. She knew that if she ever got to know what people had done to him, and then found that person, well whoever that person may be, they wouldn't live long.

"Thank you," Wesker finally said, and that was all she needed to hear. She didn't need any explanation to know that what she had said meant a lot to him. For her it was clear that few people had ever thought of him first, and wanted what was the best for him. Cara simply kissed him before she stood up to get dressed.

"So need any help with whatever you were reading before?" She asked and she could see how Wesker became frustrated at once, not at her, but clearly with his work.

"You are still no expert at viruses," he told her, and once again she heard how he tried to joke to hide what he really felt.

"No, you are a lousy teacher when it comes to teaching me about them," she joked as she put on a sweater. "But I can always listen, or read the papers trying to see things from a different angle, or I can simply make some food and keep you company."

"I would appreciate your company, maybe it will keep me in a good mood."

"Oh I am sure that I can keep you in a good mood," she blinked with one eye at him before she went out to make them some cookies to eat while Wesker worked, and they waited for the men to report.

"You are getting angry again," Cara simply commented as she looked up from her tea cup and at Wesker, who were staring at the papers.

"Hm," was all he answered and Cara rolled her eyes before she teasingly kicked his boat to make him acknowledge her. "What?"

Cara raised an eyebrow at his voice before she smiled.

"I am here to keep you in a good mood, remember? And you aren't at the moment, so take a short break. You can talk to me if you want, we can take a walk, or you can just close your eyes for a few seconds and relax."

"I need to make this work," he snapped at her and she rolled her eyes.

"I know that, but staring at the paper and getting angrier when you can't make it work, isn't helping. So how about just listening to me and take a short break. Walk around the room or something if you don't want to take a longer break."

"I know what I am doing."

"Never said you weren't; you actually think I doubt you because I am suggesting that you relax? Wow sometimes you are such an idiot," she muttered which made Wesker glare at her in anger. She was sure that most people would have backed down and refused to meet his eyes, which most likely was Wesker's intention, but she simply held his gaze, until she saw him relax. "Willing to listen now?"

"I am aware of the fact that you believe in me," he told her and she nodded.

"Yet something about it bothers you," it wasn't a question, it was a statement and Wesker was silent for a long time, and she simply went back to her tea, and patting the dogs.

"And if I cannot make it work? Are you going to be disappointed?" He asked sounding cocky, but Cara tilted her head, knowing that wasn't the case and he often made her so confused. How could a man that was so sure of himself sometimes sound so… hm she felt that insecure wasn't the right word, but some type of doubt. But she guessed the answer to that question was in his past that she didn't know about.

She didn't really need to know everything about him, and if he wanted to tell her he could, but sometimes it was both frustrating and difficult not to know everything and still trying to trade around it. Luckily she had been around enough people with tragic and messed up pasts, herself included, to know how to handle the situation, somewhat. But his statement made her wonder if the people he had met in the past had told him how disappointed they were in him. He was one of the smartest person she had met, so she wondered if the people he grew up with was even smarter, or just tried to mock him? God she really wished to know what he had been through sometimes, or at least have a chance to fucking end the people who had done anything to him as a kid.

"You think I will?" She asked and she could see how Wesker thought it over, like he was debating it in his mind, and she guessed he was torn because he knew her, but things from your childhood could be difficult to get over.

"No," he finally answered her and she took his hand.

"Right answer. I don't care if you can make this work or not, I will always support you no matter what. I wouldn't even care if you failed at this. However, you are one of the smartest people I have ever met, so I don't doubt that you will figure it out somehow. And if this doesn't work, you will simply find another way."

Wesker met her eyes and gave her a small and warm smile, which made her freaking happy. Wesker often smiled around her, and even if his smirk towards her wasn't the same as towards others, it still wasn't a smile, not like the one he gave her now.

"I needed to hear that."

"I know, you are to freaking cocky sometimes and don't really need me to tell you how good you are, nevertheless, I am here to help you when you doubt yourself, because there is no reason!"

"Care to try to help me?" He asked and she walked over placing herself in his lap, far from optimal, but Wesker seemed pleased and so was she. She just wanted to be there for him, and she could see that he tried to accept that someone actually was, and that he didn't need to do everything by himself.

"So what are we working on? I mean it's hard for me to try to help you if I don't even know what the goal is."

For a second Wesker seemed hesitant to tell her and she just waited for him to decide what he would do.

"I want to find a strand to inject myself with," he started before falling silent, most likely waiting for her to say something.

"Oh you want me to stop you, or tell you that you are an idiot or something?" She teased and he smirked. "That would be a normal reaction, wouldn't it? But nah, that isn't me and you know that. As long as you don't become like everyone else who injects things into themselves, do what you feel is right. But I am glad that you are at least trying to figure this out, and don't do like Birkin. Sorry."

Cara saw how Wesker thought about William for a second before he sighed.

"He should never have injected himself, not only because the G-virus wasn't stable enough, but also because it wasn't fitted for his body."

"People do stupid things in desperate situations," she simply told him. She thought Birkin was an idiot, for more than that reason, but she could also understand him when it came to the fact that trying something is better than doing nothing. He would have died anyway, Ethan had told him that, by injecting it he at least had a slim chance of surviving, and to rob Umbrella of the virus.

"Yet to turn oneself into someone or something where you aren't in control, is more than a bit stupid."

"That was your words not mine," she smiled before turning towards the papers. "So let's avoid that happening to you. What is this strand supposed to do exactly?"

"This one is to increase my healing abilities."

"And what would that mean? Moreover, I thought you already had grate healing ability, seeing that you came back from the dead more or less at the mansion," Cara traced her fingers over Wesker's chest, where the gaping wounds after the tyrant had been.

"That was simply due to the virus I injected and won't happen every time, and my healing capability is better than mare humans, however yours are greater than mine. How did you come by them?"

"I think I was simply born with them. It's a bit complicated, but they are connected to my magic, and not the kind of magic I need to actively use. I guess my magic is a bit like the virus inside you, it's always there even if I don't use it. I actually need to fight my body if its' not to heal me, otherwise it starts healing as soon as it can."

"And is every person in your world equipped with these powers?"

"God no, I am not even sure why I am. Sev told me that my father tried things on me when I was a baby, so I don't remember it, but maybe he gave them to me. Or maybe they come from some powerful relative on my mother's side. I actually don't know, and don't really care. I have stopped trying to figure it out and just accepted that some of my magic works on their own, well as long as someone doesn't block it."

"You are a fascinated person," Wesker almost purred in her ear and she smiled, knowing that it was the scientist in him that liked to figure it out.

"I know, sadly I can't give you any answers, and I can also inform you that there is no scientific way to figure out my powers."

"How do you know?" Wesker almost tilted his head and her smile dropped.

"People have tried throughout the years, in very unpleasant ways, but no matter what they did they couldn't find an answer," she simply stated and Wesker placed an arm around her shoulders before he kissed her forehead.

"I would never have allowed it, you are far too great to be a simple test object," he told her and she only nodded. She wasn't sure if she believed that or not. If she had met Wesker when he was younger and he didn't know her as he did now, he may have tried. However, she didn't comment on it, seeing that there was no point in thinking of an alternative that would never happen, and she turned her gaze to the paper once more.

"So increased healing abilities, let's see what we can come up with."

Wesker was pacing back and forth, talking on the phone with one of his men, she was barely listening, her focus was on the dogs. They were lying beside her chair, where she was resting, feet over the armrest, closed eyes and a lazy smile on her lips. She found it amusing when Wesker talked to his men. He reminded her of when he used to be her captain, less friendly towards these people, but still the same voice, expression, words and orders, it could easily have been one of her former S.T.A.R.S. colleagues on the other end.

Cara opened her eyes when she felt the anger coming from Wesker before he raised his voice, not much, but still enough to make the other man go silent. Apparently the men had trouble with the villagers, fucking villagers, sure they were infected with the parasite, but Wesker's men should still be able to handle it. Cara almost sighed, thinking that it would have been easier if they just went in themselves. But she had understood that Wesker had no interest in just chasing around people with pitchforks and avoiding a castle full of traps, just for fun. No they were waiting here so he could work, but still be close to jump in when it was needed. Took sometimes for her to get that, but now that she had, she accepted his plan.

"Hello," Cara answered when answered after her phone buzzed.

"Well someone sounds happier, guess trouble in paradise is over?" Ethan teased and Cara almost giggled.

"Nothing a good talk, some sex and work can't solve," she honestly told him, which made Ethan chuckle.

"He still sounds angry tho," and she understood that he could hear him in the background.

"Yeah his men are trying to explain why they are having trouble with the villagers."

"They are tougher than one may think," Ethan commented, and she could almost hear him smirk.

"So how many have you killed?"

"Anyone I need too, but I am not here to play tank for this people. You gave me other orders, remember."

"I do, have you found me any tea?"

"Sadly not, found Leon tho."

"No tea, what a disappointment you are, anyway, what can you tell me about Leon?"

"He's here to save Ashely Graham," he told her and it took her awhile to place that name, mostly because she didn't keep up with politics in this world.

"The president's daughter? Hm, you know why she's here?"

"Not really, well beside the obvious answer that she has been kidnapped."

"But why only send in one guy? Either the president is an idiot, or he doesn't really care about his daughter."

"But it's Leon S. Kennedy, wonder boy you know? They don't need anyone else," Ethan taunted and Cara laughed, which made Wesker look at her for a second, before he returned to the phone call.

"So he's here for her, have he found her?"

"Both yes and no, he found her but they got separated again at the church. Couldn't really follow him inside without getting caught by a fucking dwarf and his men."

Cara thought about it, she had no idea who the dwarf was, but she guessed he was some sort of leader in this, or at least someone higher up if he now had a lot of men.

"Well we don't want you to get caught now, do we," she teased and Ethan chuckled again.

"If it was Ada you would have been disappointed that she didn't went inside."

"It's because I don't care if she gets caught or not, and talking about that horrendous woman, have you seen her?"

"Oh you do care about little old me," Ethan joked, both of them knowing it was true. "But no, not since we entered the city. I don't know what she is doing, but even if you hate her, we both know that she is good at stealth to get caught, which I am not."

"Isn't that the truth," she commented. "Anyway, can you follow Leon without getting spotted?"

"He isn't to observant, not as much as you guys at least, so it won't be a problem."

"Good, because I don't think Ashley was just kidnapped, especially not by someone who has a Bio Weapon, so I guess that if we follow him we will find what we are looking for. Oh also see if you can see Ada."

"You don't trust her? I mean you don't like her, but she has done her job here."

"Maybe, but after such a long time I feel that she could have done more if she really wanted. I don't know what she is waiting for, but I feel that she is trying to decide whoever is worth her time. At the moment it's Wesker, but with Leon here who knows."

"How well do they know each other?" Ethan sounded a bit surprised and she couldn't blame him.

"Well Louis have sent me some documents telling me about Raccoon city, and they were close, and I wouldn't be surprised if they have kept in contact. I don't think she wants to join his cause, but she would most likely sell him things if the price was right."

"Does Wesker know this? I mean I guess he does, but still, I can't get why he has her around if he knows."

"Beats me," she said even if she knew it was because Wesker could still use her. They both know that Ada had no idea about what they knew, she thought she could play them, but they would get rid of her if needed. However, as it was now they got good information because they paid her well, not that she would tell Ethan that. She trusted him, but she would never tell him everything. "Anyway, be on the lookout for her, and if you happen to shot her, well I won't tell."

Ethan was about to answer when Wesker suddenly shouted and she turned towards him.

"Trouble in paradise again," he joked and Cara just hummed before she ended the call, turning towards Wesker who glared at her.

"If you have time to joke around with HUNK, you can go out there and work! Your skills are needed and you aren't doing anything useful here!"

"I am sure they would be, and I am here because you didn't want me out there," she simply told him.

"I do now, so get ready to leave!" He was about to turn away from her when she actually picked up a book and threw at him. The book hit his shoulder and he turned towards her with anger in his eyes, and she saw that he almost wanted to attack her by instinct.

"Still not one of your men and someone who will do whatever you want! If they are fucking up out there it isn't really my fault, and shout at me all you want, but you do not order me around!" She glared at him as he took a step closer, she wasn't scared of him, she would be pissed if he hit her and she wasn't sure what she would do then, but she wasn't afraid.

Wesker soon stood in front of her where she was sitting, sure it was to her disadvantage, but then again she wasn't afraid of him, and she wasn't really trying to prove anything to him. Sure she could stand up and start some fucking pissing contest where they argue about god only know what, but she wasn't interested in that. She knew that he had ordered her now because he knew she was better than his men, which was true. And she had no problem going out there and trying to find whatever he needed, but she hated that he tried to order her. Or it wasn't really the order that bothered her, more the fact that he thought he needed to order her for her to help him.

Cara understood that this was due to habit, he was used to be in charge, and he had and kill her then. But some things were really hard to break free from, and she guessed it was easier for him to try to order her, than ask and hear her say no. Or maybe Wesker didn't even reflected over the fact that he did it. However, no matter the reason, she wouldn't roll over like a good dog and let him get away with it.

"This is my mission," he started and she raised an eyebrow.

"And I am not really a part of it," she told him simply, which seemed to surprise him.

"You are here."

"Because I offered, not because you included me. And if you don't want to include me that's fine, just don't expect me to jump in and fix your mess then."

Wesker suddenly threw her cup across the room which made the dogs growl, clearly concerned for her safety, but she just stopped them and told them to lay down again. If Wesker wanted to break things, she would let him, she didn't really care since she often did the same when she was angry.

They stared at each other for a long time before Wesker seemed to calm down and she took his hand, and kissed his knuckles which made him soften some, and he sat down next to her on the floor.

"I shouldn't have lost my temper with you."

"You can lose it as much as you want, as long as you don't hit me."

"You thought I would?" Wesker almost sounded disgusted and she kissed him gently.

"Nope, I know that you have more control than that. Sure it seemed like you wanted to, but you aren't that irrational, if you were I would never be with you," Wesker seemed pleased by it and she smiled as he leaned back against the chair, and she started playing with his hair.

"If you want me to go out there and find whatever you need, just ask me, I have told you before. Or are you afraid that I will say no?" She couldn't stop herself from asking.

"I…" Wesker felt silent as he thought it over. "No I won't say that it concerns me, I am aware that you are willing to help me, I am just adjusting to the fact that I can ask."

"Oh I can tell," she teased and Wesker gave her a look, but didn't answer. "So tell me why your men struggle as much as they do, and why it gets you so angry. You normally don't care if they die, and even if you need them to search the place, we can do it ourselves if needed."

"I can't tell you why they struggle, but I will inform you that aren't only looking for the parasite, they are also looking for information about Spencer. Saddler who is interested in killing Spencer due to the fact that he kicked him out of Umbrella, have collected what intel he can find about the man. I hope to be able to find said information."

"Oh," was the only thing she said at first. She had tried to find more information about Spencer, but she hadn't been able, no one had, at least to her knowledge. This Saddler may have channels she doesn't, so she isn't too surprised if he knows more than she does, but she wonders why Wesker hasn't told her. "And you didn't tell me that because?"

"I am unaware if the information actually exists or not."

"Let me guess, Jack told you?"

"You are to cleaver sometimes," Wesker answered and she snorted.

"Not at all, it's simply what I would have told you too. People know you were a part of Umbrella, and it isn't a secret that you have gone after them, so if I knew about information guarding their leader and founder I would have told you that too, no matter if it's true or not."

"You think it may be false?"

"You clearly does since you haven't told me about it. Or is it because you don't really want me to know more about Spencer. You have never told me to stop looking for him, or read what little I could find about him, but you are always tens when I do. Is it because you think I will turn on you if I find out more about him and you, or some other reason?"

Wesker went silent again and she almost sighed, she knew that she asked a lot this time. He barley told her anything personal on a good day, and whatever connection he and Spencer had was very personal. So she kept silent and let him decide what to do.

"He knows things about me and my childhood I do not, and I am not sure I want you to know things I don't, at least not when it comes to my past. I am not even sure I want you to know the things I do know."

"Fair enough, I haven't really found anything about the man, but if you want me to stop looking I will."

"Not sure I do, I want answers I know only he has, and if you were to find something I still want to know."

"I can simply not look at it, if I were to find something."

"Hm, again you surprise me. I know about your past, yet you know barely anything about me, and you offer not to look if you get the chance."

"I told you because I wanted to, and you can do the same if you feel like, but we all have right to our privacy. And since you don't seem to know much about it, it wouldn't be fair for me to know anything before you have had the chance to decide what to do with the information."

Wesker took her hand and intervened their fingers, as he remained silent, however, she didn't care. She didn't need him to use words to express himself, small things like these were enough for her to understand that he was grateful.

"What did HUNK say?" Wesker asked after a few minutes of silence.

"Leon is apparently here to save the president's daughter. Told HUNK to follow him, feeling that he may have a better luck finding the parasite than your men," Wesker hummed in agreement to that.

"I clearly need new men."

"Or train them better, say what you want but you trained S.T.A.R.S. to be fucking great, or most of us."

"You didn't need much training, did you," he smirked and she chuckled.

"No I did not, but I was talking about Joseph and Brad, especially Brad, didn't matter what you said, he never learned. Or was that your plan, making sure he didn't learn so he would leave us at the mansion?"

"When we got there I counted on it, but I hadn't planned it," he honestly told her and she nodded, seeing the logic behind that. "Still surprised how well you took it all, never thought I would meet someone who would walk around such a place and see it as a game."

"It was something new which always interests me, nevertheless, I have seen far too many things to be freaked out by such a place."

"You were far more collected than the others who didn't know, it made me wonder how that could be."

"I am sure you did; I could tell that you got surprised when I told you, that I know I would get out alive. But seeing that you didn't know about my magic, it isn't so strange."

"You sounded so sure."

"Isn't that what you would want from one of your men," she teased when the phone rang again and Wesker glared at it. "Ask me and I will either kill them all or do their job."

She kissed him briefly before Wesker answered and soon started pacing once more.

Cara didn't know when she had fallen asleep, but she guessed somewhere between trying to help Wesker with his research and one of his many calls. His frustration and anger had gotten worse as his men continued to fail. Cara didn't know what it was that made the men struggle so much here? Was it because there were more infected, that these fought back in another way, that they didn't know as much about this place as the facilities they had visit. She was really puzzled about it, but she didn't really care, besides that she got exhausted when it came to handling Wesker.

He had stopped giving her angry looks and shouting at her, knowing it wasn't her fault, however, he had thrown a few more glasses and cups which made her smile. He simply muttered things about his men, this fucking place and that he was sure that Saddler enjoyed this. Well that Cara could agree on, someone didn't just enslave a whole village if one didn't enjoy things like this. Why the man did it to begin with she didn't know, and it didn't matter.

In the end she found that the easiest way to calm Wesker down was to encourage him to make a list of punishment for his men. He had just stared at her at first, thinking she was ridiculous, but she managed to make him try, even helping him, not that it was really needed. He was freaking good at coming up with punishment, most of them were deadly, but she didn't care. It was an easy way to release stress and anger, and it did work. Every time he finished a list he was smirking and she knew he may use more than one of those methods, if the men survived.

Yet when she woke up it was clear that he was angrier than before, angry enough that she knew that the list wouldn't help.

"What happened?" She asked and he turned towards her, and she could almost see his eyes glow behind the glasses.

"Jack called," he only said, as that would explain anything, before he continued. "So did HUNK."

"He called you?" Cara couldn't help but be confused and surprised.

"You were asleep and didn't answer, so he called me."

"You could have woken me," Wesker softened, if only for a second waving her off. She knew that he didn't like to wake her if it wasn't needed, yet she felt that he could have this time.

"He simply wanted to inform you that Ada helped Leon. Apparently you asked him to be on the lookout for her, which he did. He informed me that she saved him from the village chief."

"Not surprised," Cara only commented while Wesker was silent. "So what did Jack say?"

"He claims to have the information I am seeking and wants to meet up now."

"Guess that wasn't the plan?"

"No, he was to acquire the parasite too, now he refuses too, says Saddler is after him and he wants to leave at once."

Cara understood the problem, Wesker wanted and needed both things, and it was clear that Jack tried to pressure Wesker, something he didn't accept, which he shouldn't.

"Then let's send HUNK to collect Jack and the information, while we try to get the parasite, since your men or Ada hasn't succeeded."

"None of them have seemed to locate it."

Cara only nodded as Wesker continued to walk back and forth, seemingly angrier for every step.

"What are you waiting for? Call him now!" Wesker told her and Cara turned towards him at once, now angry.

"Enough! You have to stop doing this!" She told him, her voice higher than normally which made him stop and glare at her. "I am exhausted; we have been doing this for two days! I have been very patience, and I get that you are stressed or worried, or whatever, and I don't care that you are angry, actually I am pleased that you feel that you can show me this side of you. But you have to fucking stop giving me orders like I am one of your men, like I mean nothing to you and that you expect me to just do whatever you want, you are no longer my capatin. Stop doing that or I will leave Albert!"

She glared at him, showing him that she meant it. She had no trouble getting back home by herself, or leaving him here to deal with all this. She was honest, she was pleased that he felt like he could let lose around her, not only when it came to small things, but also this. She knew it was difficult for him to show that he wasn't always as collected as everyone always thought, but him ordering her around was pissing her off. He really needed to stop doing that! She glared at him for a few seconds and when she saw that he was about to answer she picked up her phone, calling Ethan. She wanted Wesker to think about it, not just give her another answer or apology. She knew he meant it when he said it, however, if he didn't learn it was little to no point of him keep apologising.

"Sleeping on the job, is that the perk one have as boss?" Ethan asked when he answered.

"Since you will never become the boss, you will never know," she told him in a joking voice. "Do you know where Leon is?"

"At some sort of training facility. I have followed him there; Ada seem to be here too!"

"Do you know if a person named Jack is here as well?"

"Military dude? Yeah seen him here, looks like he tries to hide. I don't know from whom tho."

"Saddler, guess the man found out Jack betrayed him."

"Hm interesting, because he seemed to be one of Saddlers closest men at first, he was apparently the one who brought Ashley here."

"You know why?" Cara couldn't figure out why this Jack would just kidnap the president's daughter, well seeing that she didn't know the man it could be for any reason.

"I think he simply wanted to get the parasite, maybe for himself at first, but he soon learned that only Saddler had the type that didn't turn you into walking, angry slaves, and only Saddler can control others. I don't know everything, only heard a few things from people here and there, and seen some paper."

"I know there was a reason for me to keep you around, even if you don't bring me tea. And don't worry, you have given me more information than any of Wesker's men have. Are they there as well?"

"Haven't seen any of them, so guess that they are either dead or haven't made their way here."

"Can you try and find Jack, he has things we need."

"I will search for him, what do you want me to do with him when I find him?" Cara liked that Ethan said when, not if, knowing he would get the job done.

"Protect him if you can, we may need him. However, if you have to kill him I won't complain."

"Alright."

"Do you know where the parasite is?"

"I do not, but I heard Leon talk to Ada about it, so I guess he has it or at least knows where it is."

"Hm, well better him than Saddler I guess, anyway we will move out, so see you soon." Cara ended the call and turned towards Wesker who was studying her now. "I am ready to leave whenever you are."

She simply stood up and collected her things, still not giving him the time to comment on what she had said before the call. He glared at her for a second before he grabbed what he needed and walked over to her and they left for the chopper.

It had taken them nearly three hours to get to the facility, and Ethan had kept her updated along the way. He had found Jack, and they were on their way to where they could be picked up. Ethan begged to let her kill Jack, who apparently talked and bragged to much, and Cara smiled and told him, teasingly, to do his job.

Cara was leaning against Wesker, showing him that she didn't hold a grudge, and he seemed to appreciate it. He kept her updated on what Jack sent him, meaning that the man didn't know that Ethan talked to her.

"Ada claims that Leon has the parasite," Wesker shoed her the message and she shewed on her lip.

"He may have, I mean as now he is a trained agent, so even if he wasn't looking for it at first he knows it has to be important and tries to get it."

"Hm, she should have taken it from him already," that Cara agreed on but didn't say anything else, and she could tell that Wesker was deep in thoughts, most likely thinking over his options.

"We will find a solution when we get there. HUNK has Jack, and it's freaking Leon we are going to deal with, we can simply take Ashley and he will give us the parasite."

"Sounds to simple."

"It does, so guess something will go wrong, and my guess is Saddler, but I don't know enough about him to know what, and HUNK has stayed away from him, mostly," she glanced at Wesker who felt silent once more as they continued flying.

She hated to be right, she hated it so much. Of course it had been fucking Saddler who would be the problem, and as all the other idiots they met, he had morphed into something. Could none of them control the things they injected into themselves? Was Wesker the only one who wanted to do research before doing it?

Ethan had called her before they got there and warned them, he had told her that he tried to protect and hid Jack, but Saddler was searching for him, and Leon. It didn't seem like he was aware that Ethan and Ada was on the island, and that was always good. Cara had told Ethan to stay safe, that Jack wasn't worth dying for, and he had simply agreed. She wasn't sure if Ethan would dye for anyone, and she was glad to know that he wouldn't try to be some stupid hero.

However, as they got closer it was clear that Leon was struggling with bringing Saddler down, Cara saw that Ada tried to help him and she wasn't sure if she was pissed about it or not. Sure Leon was an enemy, but he was the one who had the parasite, or said to be, besides she didn't want Saddler to come after them. Maybe it was for the best that Ada was trying to help him.

Wesker was observing the situation next to her, clearly angry that Ada hadn't dealt with it, she also guessed that he was livid that neither of his men had made it here. That she could understand, and she wasn't sure if she what reason was the better one: that were dead or simply hadn't figured out where they should go. Both were bad, they should have been able to survive the village, but if they hadn't they couldn't be here, and if they survived they were clearly too stupid to figure out where to go, which were bad as well.

"I see HUNK and Jack," she pointed towards where the two were hiding.

"She should have finished this by now," Wesker muttered and she couldn't agree more when she suddenly saw some people entering the platform, clearly being some of Wesker's men.

Huh, well then all of them hadn't die, nevertheless, it wasn't much better that they showed up now. Sure Leon and Ada could use the extra guns, but the men hadn't done their job, and were barely making any difference.

Cara was looking around the chopper to see what they had to work with, glad that they had stocked some extra weapons in here. It was mostly things they wouldn't bring with them normally, things that would be in the way if they did. Cara looked at the grenades and rocket launcher, which had been Barry's idea. She reminded herself to thank the man later as she turned towards the platform again.

"Useless all of them," Wesker's eyes were almost glowing again and she felt how he became even more furious when Saddler managed to kill Jack. "Go down there and finish this! Now, Riddle!"

Wesker said those words as he was gathering some weapons himself, so it was clear that he aimed to go down with her, even so he had still ordered her and she stood up and gave him a cold smirk. And he seemed to realise what he had done, but she gave him no time to answer.

"Oh there is no use for you to go down too, Captain, I will manage on my own, sir!" She glared at him before she grabbed the Rocket Launcher, with some shells before she climbed down the ladder hanging from the chopper, and she soon stood on the ground.

She could tell that Ada was watching her, but she ignored the woman and walked over to Ethan.

"Can you search his pocket and see if he has anything on him, he claimed to have information," she glared at Jack and Ethan simply nodded before he began searching the corps.

Cara walked closer to Leon who were struggling and she understood why. Despite being a large creature he moved kind of fast. She tried to aim at Saddler, having the first fire miss as Saddler went after Ada, however the shot made him look at her. Cara almost smirked, well she didn't really enjoy fighting these things, but she could get some of her anger out of the way.

She avoided his first swing at her, but she had to reach for her knife when the second came at her. She stabbed one of the arms, which did seem to affect Saddler somewhat as he pulled it back, giving her a second to recharge and she soon fired again, this time hitting her target.

It didn't kill him, but wounded him greatly and she soon fired another one resulting in the man exploding. Luckily she was standing far back avoiding getting hit, something neither Leon or Ada, who had been pulled down by Saddler, were. Cara glanced at them seeing that they were exhausted, not to strange, they had after all been running around in this nightmare. Nevertheless, she acted before Leon could react.

"Give me the parasite," she calmly told him, and he turned towards her prepared to fight her. Cara just glared at him as she pointed her gun at him. "Give it to me, or I will have HUNK kill Ashley."

She pointed at Ethan who heard what she said and aimed his weapon towards Ashley who had started walking over as soon as Saddler died. Cara was pleased that the girl was that stupid, and that she had been right about Leon who handed it over at once. She wasn't sure if it was because she had threatened the president's daughter, a young girl, or a civilian, could be all three, but Leon was clearly unwilling to let her die, even if it meant that she would get the parasite.

Cara glared at Ada before she backed away towards Ethan, who still had his gun pointed at the girl.

"Found anything?" She asked and he nodded, handing over a USB, and she gave him the parasite, just as the self-destruction alarm started to sound. She wasn't sure who had triggered it, but she didn't care, only looking at Ethan.

"Give this to Wesker, and give me the keys to the boat you took here."

"Huh?" She wasn't surprised that Ethan didn't follow, but now wasn't really the time to tell him either.

"I will call later and explain, just do what I asked you to do," she told him and he handed over the keys. "Tell Wesker that I will be back when and if I feel like it, and that he shouldn't follow me!"

"Okay," she couldn't see his face, so she wasn't sure what he really thought, but it was clear that he was a bit worried about her.

"I will be fine, where did you leave the boat?" Ethan pointed in the direction and told her how to get there before squeezing her arm and she smiled. "I promise that I will be fine, but we need to go now, before this place explode!"

Ethan agreed and he walked towards chopper where it was clear that Wesker had shot the men who tried to board it, displeased by their action. She also saw that Ada was already climbing, having no problem leaving Leon behind, who seemed a bit lost and Cara sighed.

"Leon come on, I will help you get off the island."

"Why?" She couldn't blame him for being suspicious, but she didn't have time for it.

"I have no wish to see you two die, but if you aren't interested I will leave without you," with those words she started running and she heard how they soon followed.

Ethan followed her as disappeared and he really wondered what had made her just leave. He understood that Wesker had fucked up somehow, but what could be bad enough for her to leave? He guessed she would tell him later, if he was alive then. He had no idea how to tell Wesker that she just left, or well he guessed the man had seen it with his own eyes, still how did he tell him.

He didn't have too much time to think about it tho as he entered the chopper. Ada was sitting there looking out the window, as she had done nothing wrong and just had the most successful mission ever. He could almost laugh at that, but didn't, instead he turned towards Wesker.

The man looked as collected and cool as ever, like he had no problem in the world. For a second he wondered if the man even knew that his wife just left, or didn't he care? With him Ethan wasn't sure, it was clear that the man loved Cara, yet he simply looked at him like he didn't care. This man could make him crazy, how Cara fucking understood him he couldn't get. However, he handed over the parasite to the blonde.

"She told me to tell you that she would be back when and if she felt like it," Ethan thought he saw some sort of reaction in the man's eyes, if only for a second. He couldn't tell what it was, and he knew that he would never be able to figure it out.

"Okay," was all Wesker said, as collected as ever while they headed back to the base.

"I don't get you," Leon said as they were riding in the boat and she raised an eyebrow.

"Really, what a surprise, you don't get me, a stranger."

"I am not sure I would call you a stranger, I know off you. So why would Albert Wesker's girlfriend…" Cara couldn't stop herself, she lifted her hand and showed him the ring, she was still married to the man, and the look she got from Leon was priceless. "You married him?"

"I did, so what don't you get mister Kennedy?"

"Why would his…wife… help us leave the island? Why just not kill us, and why are you leaving in a boat when he went off in a chopper."

"How do you know I came with him?" She teased and Leon glared at her, trying to look older and wiser than he was. "Fine, I told you I don't wish to see you two die. I wouldn't be bothered by it, but I could help save you so I chose to. And to answer why I am leaving in a boat, well that's none of your business."

"I should arrest you!"

"Yes you should! She had her friend threaten me with a gun!" Ashely commented and Cara could tell that she would hate the girl at once.

"You could try, but it would be a shame if you died here, out in the middle of the ocean, especially since you survived everything Saddler did to you."

"What do you know about him and what happened at the island?" Leon crossed his arms and she smirked.

"Nothing really, but I could guess, besides I think your BSSA friends would be sad if you weren't to return."

"What do you know about friendship? You betrayed yours at the mansion!"

"Who's friendship? Jill's? Rebecca's? Chris? Hm well you are right about that, however, I didn't betray Wesker and Barry, so guess it depends on how you look at it."

"Both Jill and Chris says you are a piece of shit, and as bad as Wesker."

"Hm, in some ways I guess I am, but I can assure you that he wouldn't have saved you," she taunted him and he only glared at her for a long time.

"Who is she, really?" Ashely suddenly asked, not her who was sitting near her, but Leon.

"She was a member of S.T.A.R.S. but she chose to join Wesker and Umbrella in the end."

"Wrong, we never joined Umbrella, wow your intel is shitty. Or was it that Jill and the others couldn't believe that Wesker wasn't interested in staying with Umbrella, and me, well I am not much for joining organisations."

"Anyway," Leon said irritated that she had interrupted her. "She decided to turn her back on everything she stood for, simply because a man."

"Again wrong. You guys thought I joined S.T.A.R.S. because I wanted to fight for a better cause. Sure I did that, but I joined because I was bored, however, I did chose to join Wesker. If he really had died I would have moved on, and found something else to do." Cara had no problem telling Leon that, because it wasn't anything that could be used against her. Beside made tell the BSAA that she hadn't been as noble as they once thought.

"Bored? You joined them because you were bored? What is wrong with you Lady? Do you kill people because you are bored too?" Ashely almost shouted and Cara sighed.

"No, I kill people when it's needed, or when teenage girls irritate me!" She said in a cold voice, shutting her up, and for a short second she saw Leon smile, clearly the girl had irritated him sometimes too.

"So you mean you could have joined the BSAA too, if you were bored?" He asked and she shook her head.

"No, too much work and too much rules. I would just be frustrated, not intrigued, and don't think you will be able to talk me over during this ride. You would have needed a lifetime to make me even consider it."

Leon finally went silent, and she wasn't sure if she was pleased by it or not. He wasn't interesting or someone she particularly liked having a talk with, but it had helped her stop thinking about Wesker.

She knew it was a bit childish to leave him like this, but she couldn't take it anymore. They had done the same thing for two days, and she had warned him merely hours before, and yet he did it again. She knew he was a man who demanded respect, someone who wanted people to follow him, and that he needed to be in charge. She also knew that this mission had been stressful, everything had gone wrong and that gave him the right to be angry, yet he needed to learn.

It would have been possible for him to search for the parasite himself, it would have taken a long time, but he would have been able. He wanted to work on the formula, she knew that, but since he couldn't make it work at the moment, maybe it would have better if he just had gone out onto the field.

He could have been more stern with Ada, making her do her job better, or higher better men. He could even have asked her to go in and search for the parasite. Sure she knew that she may not have found it, but she would have tried.

She didn't even know what to think about it all, she just needed to get away for a while and think. She loved the man, there was no doubt about that, and she had no intention to hurt him which she knew this would. However, she also knew her worth and that she wouldn't let herself be treated in whatever way Wesker wanted.

If he still had been her captain, she would have followed his order without a doubt, but since he wasn't, she couldn't. She guessed it reminded her to much of everyone who had tried to make her do things she didn't want too.

Her father ordering her around, then Draco, Rahl, Fei and all the others, god there were almost more than she could remember, all of them bad. None of them were people she would follow out of free will, none of them were people who care for her, only wanted things from her. Hm maybe she should have explained that to Wesker, however, she shouldn't need to.

If she asked him to stop, he should just listen to that. He rarely explained anything to her, and she was fine with that, so why couldn't he do the same. Once again she returned to his upbringing, she knew nothing about it, but she guessed it started there. It was then she remembered that she still had the USB, she had forgotten about it when the self-destruction had been triggered. She felt that it was still in her pocket and decided that she should check it out when she could, if it was something Wesker could use, she would send it to him, if not well at least he didn't need to be disappointed.

It was a shitty plan, she knew that, but it was something and a start. She needed something to do, something to focus on other than her argument with Wesker, and this was a start. Get to land, find a computer so she could read the USB and after that, well she just had to see.

Cara wondered if this was how Barry felt when he returned, unsure of how to enter. She had a key, she owned the house for god sake, yet she wasn't sure if she just wanted to unlock the door and walk in like nothing had happened. She could knock, but that felt even worse. Knocking at your own house, hoping someone would let you in? Nope, she would not do that, so she guessed she would use her key then.

She hesitated for a while, it had been five months since she just left. She had told Ethan some of what had happened and she just called Wesker an idiot and asked if she needed anything. She told him to look after the dogs if and when he could, and he said that if they accepted him he would, which they had. He had sent her photos of him and the dogs in his bed and she laughed, telling him that they will forever love him, because she did not allow them into her bed.

Cara talked to him a few times a week, even met him a few times when she was close to one of his missions. He never asked when she would come back, only asked if she needed some assistants on whatever she was doing, she always said no and he accepted that. She had gone with him on a few of his mission, mostly so they could talk some more before they went their separate way again.

She never asked him about Wesker, but he told her sometimes, mostly when he complained about how difficult he was to be around these days. Always irritated, snapping and keeping almost everyone away. Ethan had told him that the exception was Sherry and sometimes Barry, which made him pleased.

Sherry did ask about her a lot though, wanting to know when she was getting home, why she had abounded Wesker and if she was okay. She had told him to tell her whatever he wanted. Cara know that Sherry liked Ethan and would simply accept what he told her. She never asked what it was, but after a while she seemed to stop asking about her, even if Ethan still told him that she was upset. Cara didn't want to hurt the girl, but she wasn't her biggest concern so she didn't give it to much thought, at least not as much as Barry and Wesker.

Barry also called her from time to time, and when she felt like it she answered. At first he had been worried sick, thought she had died until Ethan told him what happened, because Wesker had just walked down to his laboratory. Barry had walked after and actually yelled at him, enough for Ethan and Sherry to hear it. They had no idea of what Wesker answered, and Barry had told her that he barely said anything.

It was clear to him that Wesker was upset, but refused to say anything about it. Barry never tried to force him to talk, but he told her it was clear that Wesker wasn't himself. He had trashed the laboratory when she had been gone for a week, then he barely ate or slept, and he threw himself into work. Barry informed her that he had a hard time to get him to leave the lab, and Cara had almost rushed home then.

She knew Wesker would be hurt and upset, not to this extent, but still. However, she wasn't ready to get home yet. Sure she did want to make Wesker feel better, but she also needed to figure herself out, besides she wasn't sure how much the blonde had learned if she has just been gone a few weeks. He would know that she could leave, but she hadn't been surprised if he had gone back to his old ways in the end. So she tried to ignore her worry about Wesker as much as she could, while focusing on what she had decided was her mission. It hadn't taken as long as she thought it would, still five months was longer then she had hoped for. Then she sighed, if she didn't move it would be even longer.

She unlocked the front door and stepped inside. Her hair was longer and in two braids, she wore a pair of practical trousers and combat boots, a black top with a green jacket and a backpack over one of her shoulders, looking as she just left the field. And she guessed she had.

The dogs were the first one to notice her, and she soon heard how they came running as they barked and she sat down to hug them, happy to see them all. Ethan followed after, clearly puzzled to where they had gone. He blinked a few times when he saw her before he smiled.

"Fancy seeing you here," he said as he walked over hugging her. "And you look better than the last time I saw you."

"The last time, well I had just gotten out of a tricky situation, not my best moment," Cara had more than a few injuries, her arm in a casket and in a lot of pain. Ethan didn't comment on it as Barry and Sherry entered the living room, they had also heard the dogs.

"Cara," Sherry ran towards her and Cara hugged the girl, pushing away all thoughts of Mina. Sherry was older now, so it was easier, but a part of her hated that Sherry was blonde because even if they didn't look alike, she could still picture how her daughter would have looked at Sherry's age.

"Wondered if I would ever see your face again kiddo," Barry said with a laugh and hugged her too.

"And leave you all alone with this boring people, nah you don't get rid of me that easy old man," Cara smiled at him and she was glad to be back. They were her family and she had missed them, so freaking much. She was about to answer something Sherry asked when Wesker entered from his lab.

Cara looked at her husband and she could see that he wasn't doing well at once. Sure he looked as kept together as always, his clothes were as perfect always, just as his hair, and he wore his sunglasses and a cocky smile on his lips. If she hadn't known him well she would never have thought anything was wrong, but she did know him well.

She could tell that he looked colder and more cut off, just so he didn't have to deal with any emotion. Even if he wore glasses she could tell that he was tired, and the clothes looked perfect on him, but he was thinner than before. All she wanted to do was to hug him, but she wasn't sure what he wanted.

"I told you she would come back," Sherry smiled widely at him and Wesker gave her a small smile, more to please her than anything.

"How about giving them some time to talk?" Barry said to the girl, masking it as a question but not giving her an option to say no as he walked her back to her room.

"One world and I will shoot him," Ethan whispered to her and she gave him a smile as she rolled her eyes. "Come on dogs."

But the dogs removed to move and she giggle.

"Wow you are back for five minutes and the forget all about me," he pretended to be hurt before she told the dogs to go with the man and Cara turned towards Wesker, before she walked towards their bedroom.

She wished talk to him somewhere where no one would bother them, on purpose or accidental.

Cara looked around the room, it was covered in dust and she could tell that Wesker hadn't used it in a long time, just like Barry told her, however, she ignored that as she popped the bag on the floor and sat down at the window, and Wesker placed himself on the bed.

They just looked at each other for a long time before she smiled at him.

"Hi," god she had missed him so freaking much.

"Hi," he answered after a few more seconds of silence, as he was unsure of what to answer.

"I have something for you," she thought that she could give it to him at once. She turned towards her bag and soon founded a folder with maps, photos, addresses, documents and two USB, the one Jack had on him, and one she had been filling with stuff. "Here."

Wesker accepted it but only put it as side, clearly not interested in it.

"I would look at if I was you."

"Later," he simply answered and she shrugged her shoulders, she hadn't returned home to argue with him the first thing she did. "Five months Cara."

"Took a bit longer than I thought."

"Five months and not a single word! I had to rely on Barry to tell me if you even were alive. I tried to use the neckless you gave me, but I guess you throw it away," he confessed and she shook her head.

"Nope, simply took it off. I guessed you would try to use it, and I wanted to be alone."

"Yet you met Ethan."

"When it was possible yes, not that we hanged out every weekend, both of us have been busy."

"Hpmh," was all Wesker answered but she could tell that he didn't wish to argue with her, so they sat in silence for a long time.

"You should eat something," she uttered after a while and Wesker removed his glasses, rubbing his eyes tiredly.

"I haven't been hungry."

"I didn't mean for you to stop eating, or sleeping, yeah Barry have told me, almost returned home at once."

"Why didn't you?"

"First because it wouldn't have changed anything between us, you wouldn't have learned and I wouldn't have had time to think things through, and I was on a mission."

"And you decided on what? A divorce? You could have texted me that and not wait five months. Or did you need time to collect yourself?"

"Wow you are such a dramatic idiot sometimes," she told him as she giggled which made Wesker look at her, a bit questioning. She could understand why he was worried, normally your spouse didn't leave you for five months without a word, yet he should know her better than that. "If I had wanted that I would have told you when I left the chopper. I would have said goodbye to Ethan, went home before you did and said goodbye to Barry and Sherry and then really left. Why on earth would I be gone five months, only to return tell you I want a divorce and then leave again?"

"So what did you need to think about for five months?"

"Haven't you thought about anything these past months?" She asked instead, because yeah she could tell he looked like hell, but if he just had thought of her leaving him, she felt that he hadn't learnt anything.

"Barry made it very clear to me what I did wrong," for a second he sounded irritated, before going back to looking empty.

"So did I, that wasn't what I really hoped that you had thought off, or well not only. Sure I need you to stop ordering me around, but I wish that wasn't everything you thought off."

"No it wasn't," Wesker took a deep breath and she gave him an encouraging smile. "I have been thinking about what you mean to me, why I couldn't hinder myself from ordering you around. I have been wondering if you would ever return and what I would do if you did."

"And what is your conclusion?"

"I won't say it's easy to open up to you or anyone, but you make me do it, and as I did it was easier to become emotional around you. I never thought twice about giving you a command, it's second nature to me, always has been, but as I got more stressed I didn't really think about you. You were just there, someone who I could order as I tried to gain some control over the situation. It drives me crazy how irrational you make me; it has never been like this with anyone else. I have almost always managed to keep in control when I am with others, but I can't when you are around. I have spent these months wondering if you are okay, are you injured, lost, in trouble, have you taken care of yourself or skipped eating and sleeping like me. These months has been hell, because no matter how hard I tried I couldn't stop thinking about you, and that you may never return. Furthermore, I couldn't blame anyone else than myself, even if I wanted to."

Wesker met her eyes and she chuckled before apologising.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have laughed, but you have just described what it means to be in love with someone, and that isn't something you can rational, even if you want to. I never wanted you to feel this bad, but it sounded like you needed to think about it. You are used to taking things for granted, including me. I realised that when I was away, and that's my fault."

"So what have you been thinking about when you were gone?"

"First I really had to try to figure out why it bothered me when you ordered me around, that wasn't so hard to understand," she almost muttered to herself and Wesker gave her a look. "Since you aren't my captain anymore, it bothered me because it reminded me off every arsehole I have met throughout life who has tried to, or ordered me to do things and hurt me. That isn't really your fault, I never thought it would affect me as much as it did, but I clearly had issues I didn't know about. So I have tried to work on that. It won't excuse you doing it, sense I told you not to, but I can at least tell you why it bothered me."

She could tell that Wesker felt bad at once, not wanting to be like any of those people, so she raised her hand and stopped him before he could say anything.

"You aren't like them, don't worry, I would never compare you to any of them. Anyway, after I figured that out I came to the conclusion, like I said that I am to blame or partly to blame that you take me for granted. I kept telling you I would always be here to help you, and I joined you without thinking twice when we went to places, like Spain. It is true that I always will be here, and I don't have a problem helping you, gladly do, yet it resulted in you just assuming I always would. And there is a part of the problem, you took me for granted and even if I put up some boundaries and said I don't except everything, I still didn't assure myself enough. Like I said I gladly help you, that's not the problem, you just need to stop assuming I always will, and I need to think before I jump into situations, or at least ask some question. It doesn't mean I need to know everything, because I really don't. I just need to make sure of some things."

Wesker listened to her before he sighed and nodded.

"I apologise for not treating you better, you are always thinking of me and I couldn't even do that when we were in Spain. You are right, I took you for granted, have for a long time. Think I have since the beginning. First it was because you didn't really tell me know when I wanted sex, then when everything with the mansion happened you simply accepted it, and after that it just went on and on. I was so occupied by myself that I rarely thought about you, because you were always there, and seemed happy with what you got."

"I was happy, and I am happy with it. Wesker I don't need you to think about me first all the times, you are allowed you put yourself first too, and for me it is enough that we live here, that you ask for my help, those smile you only give to me, that I can tell you everything and you never judge me, and all other things you do. Yet you need to remember that I am your wife and you need to separate me from everyone else sometimes, like you do with Sherry and Barry."

"It's harder when it comes to you, because you are always by my side, so I always thought of you as an asset."

"Which I am," Cara joked and Wesker gave her a small smile.

"You are, and with you gone I have realised how much, but to be honest I have missed all those things you mentioned and more, far more than I have missed your skills out on the field or down in the lab."

"Well that's good, then I guess we both have learned from this," she simply said and walked over to him and stopped right before him. Wesker carefully took her hands and she leaned in and kissed him, and she soon heard him moan and she smirked.

"You have no idea how much I have missed you," he pulled her closer and she chuckled.

"As much as I have missed you," she kissed him again before she took a step back. "Can you look at the folder now?"

Wesker glanced at her almost insulted that she wanted him to look at that, rather than continuing kissing her, but he did as she asked and she sat down next to him, with a big smile on her face.

It took him some time to realise what he was looking at, not surprised, seeing that most of the information was on the USB.

"How did you found this?" He slowly turned to her and she leaned at him.

"I went undercover."

"At Umbrella? I don't doubt your skills, but are you an idiot?" He asked, looking at her as he thought she would suddenly die.

"Nope, just super good at this shit," she gave him a look, ensuring him she was fine.

"Well I say, you managed to get all this information in just five months, it is impressive."

"It was easier when you learned where to go, who to talk to and what to do. That and that I have a few potions to help me," she grinned as she looked at the picture showing a mansion at a cliff. "He is apparently ill."

Wesker looked down at the folder too and soon saw a picture of the old man in a wheelchair and Cara studied her husband who didn't say anything, lost in thoughts and she closed the files.

"How about this, I make us some food because you clearly need to eat! Then we can return here and you can show me how much you have missed me," she kissed him deeply before she stood up. "And tomorrow we can talk about everything we have been up to this past five months, and how we will bring down Spencer and Umbrella."

"You are perfect Dear Heart," Wesker answered as he pulled her closer, and she guessed dinner could wait a little while longer.
