"Are you sure you're gonna be alright my love?" ask Snape to Hermione. His hand stroking her pregnant belly, he's gonna miss them both while he's away. "If you need anything, tell me immediately. I'm going back home".
She smiles, straightens his jackets. "I'm gonna be fine". She kissed him on the lips. "Besides, the reality who needed you the most was Scorpius. Even though I'm telling them to stay away from Malfoy. It wasn't his fault while I was thinking that. Oh gosh!"
"Darling. It wasn't your fault, you had the right to say that. I was afraid.. Lucius".
They sigh. Hermione patted him. "I'm gonna miss you husband". They share passionate kisses before Snape steps inside the fireplace.
"I love you my love. I'll be back soon when I'm done with the boys".
Hermione watches Snape step into the fireplace as the emerald green flames transport him straight to Hogwarts.
She's alone now. Without a husband and kids around the house. She still had time for breakfast before going to work.
"Just two of us now". She looked down at her belly. "Just two of us".
Hogwarts. Great Hall. Snape takes a seat at the high table between him and other staff. His eyes wander around looking for his kids' presence at the Great Hall.
Exactly those moments. Tobias and Susannah step inside the Great Hall. Follow that after Henry and Aurora. Then Tristan and Ariana.
They took a seat at their table. Didn't notice their father was there and watching. None of them noticed Snape was there because of his new look, young appearance they don't recognise.
Compared to his older self. The greasy git, probably they will recognise him immediately if he look like that. He felt someone lean on his side, so he turned to look.
"I'm so glad to see you back in here, Professor Snape".
"I'm not teaching anymore as for my son regarding the request I must".
The teacher nodded. "You are kind of handsome and young or just my eyes need glasses".
"Perhaps you'll do, Professor Kitch. Now I ask you to move to the other side of yours". he asks politely. "I don't like what students think about us, especially my child's".
Professor Kitch moved aside without a word. Immediately Snape snatched the spoon and began to eat his breakfast.
Moments later. Headmistress Office. Snape was talking to Dumbledore hanging portraits while Minerva was out for Transfiguration teaching class.
He pacing around the room. Thinking. "What can I say? Malfoy still needs me".
"My dear boy, Severus. Your loyalty toward the Malfoy family never ends even though you have to kill me that night to save their boy. I am so proud".
Snape eyeing Dumbledore portrait.
"Proud? you ask me to kill you before Draco does. His mother asked me to protect her son as the Dark Lord gave him a mission to kill you. Is that what you are proud of? I have to pretend my loyalty to the Dark Lord by killing you!"
"So we could save Harry". said Dumbledore. Snape staring. "Not just Harry you safe, Severus. Miss Granger who you are now married to. You save all of us, you save the world".
"By killing you!" Dumbledore sighs as Snape barks. "When you ask me to kill I was lost and I don't know what to do whether I have to do it or not. Which I do on your orders!"
"And you do it extremely well. Do not think that I underestimate the constant danger in which you place yourself, Severus. To give Voldemort what appears to be valuable information while holding the essentials is a job I would entrust to nobody but you".
Snape cried, rubbing his back. Dumbledore spoke back.
"I prefer not to put all my secrets in one basket, particularly not a basket that spends so much time dangling on the arm of Lord Voldemort".
Snape breathed. "I saved their lives. I couldn't forget the way I've done it. My life was full of mistakes and ashamed".
Suddenly it reminds him of the Marauders, his school bullies and enemies. James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew.
It Is painful to remember all those years. "I feel hopeless and joining the dark arts was my mistake".
Dumbledore smiling. "Look at me, Severus". Snape eyes look at Dumbledore. "You are the most capable man I've ever seen. You let me survive for at least a year from Marvolo Gaunt's ring. Miss Bell's life, Draco wound and you cured all the victims of petrification that include your wife. Your skills are valuable my boy".
"Valuable but they mistaken me!"
.."Ehem.."
Dumbledore looked up so did Snape turning behind him. It was Minerva McGonagall who just finished teaching her class.
She walked closer. "I have provided you a guest room between here and the Gryffindor dormitories, Severus. And you weren't allowed to be in students' dormitories".
"I understand. Thank you, Minerva". he looked up where Dumbledore was. "As you say, Headmaster. My son needs my skills to help him".
"I advised you not to bring any technology with you to Hogwarts, Severus". ask Minerva. Snape shook his head no. "Very well. You can use an owl post if you like. Mine or one of your children's owls".
Snape nodded his head. Sling his bag on his shoulder. "I'll see you again, Headmaster".
"Your presence will be informed at tonight's feast. For now you rest, do anything while you can to entertain yourself. Password of your room is Don Juan".
Snape nod head again, walkout. Minerva watches him. "Albus?" She turns to Dumbledore's portrait but he's already gone. She rolled her eyes up. "I cannot believe this".
Ministry of Magic. Hermione staring down at the letter from her husband, Severus Snape. It's only a couple of hours he left Hogwarts now he missed her and the baby dearly.
Snape never was leaving Hermione behind, and today he had to. He's afraid of losing her. Once he loses someone he had love, and he will not lose it twice again.
Her smile that she hadn't realized Harry was seated right in front of her for two minutes. She then keeps the letter inside the drawer and looks up.
"HARRY!" she screamed. "What are you doing? I didn't see you".
Smirking. Harry said. "Two minutes I was right in here watching you smiling at the letter you read. Snape?"
"Oh Harry. I'm sorry I didn't tell you yet. Starting today, Snape will be staying in Hogwarts for a couple of days or weeks".
"Why?"
"Henry. He had difficulty learning his potions. And Malfoy".
Harry's green eyes wide open. He leaned closer to her. "Malfoy? I don't understand, Mione. What Snape had to do with the Malfoy again".
"Harry". She breathed. "Last night Narcissa Malfoy came over the house, she's upset about Scorpius for not having a friend of his own at school. She asked my husband if he could.. you know.. talk".
Harry frowned. "We're not talking about this right, Mione''. They stare. "Malfoy?" he sighs. "Wasn't our fault his family had to deal with two world affects. How many times do we need to say''.
"But Snape wasn't thinking the way we think, Harry. This is Scorpius we talk about, he is just a boy. He doesn't know anything about the past we've been through together. I know I say it".
Hermione leaned on her chair. "We all ask our kids not to be friends with Malfoy. Sometimes it feels.. unfair. I know it was the right thing to do as a parent. But Harry.."
"I get it, Mione. Still we cannot trust Malfoy. You understand?" she nodded weakly. "I've got a report to inform you. Last night an old man claimed the wand was found inside the sewer and it was lit when he touched it. He didn't use it for his use".
"Then?"
"We brought him here today. So I ask you to stop thinking about the Malfoy problem for a while. If Snape can handle this, let him do it. You're pregnant and I don't want anything to happen to you while he's away".
She nodded and sighed. Gather her things then stand up. "Alright. You were right. Let's go Harry". she dragged him arm to arm out from her office.
Great Hall. Evening. Students are having their feast, chatting, and laughing. Snape's kids still hadn't noticed him yet.
Tonight's feast was brilliant. Grilled steak, chicken wings, apple pie for dessert with orange juice.
Snape cut the steak then gently scooped it into his mouth, as his mind was blank. His mind thinking over his wife, Hermione. He couldn't be apart from her, her smell, her skin, her touch.
Just.. he couldn't..
"Your wife is gonna be alright, Severus". whispers McGonagall to him. "She's strong and brave, nothing is gonna happen. I'll send an owl to Mrs Potter if she can accompany her while you are away".
He noted with thank you. At that moment, McGonagall stood in the middle of the Great Hall between the four tables to announce Snape's arrival in Hogwarts. It's been too long since.
"Can I get your attention please". The chatting stopped immediately, they turned to McGonagall. "I have a few things to say, before all of you went back to your dormitories after the feast. I myself I am particularly looking forward to the Mandrake plant grown at the green house".
They look at each other and feel kinda weird when Minerva says that.
"Mm. Yes. First, I'm pleased to Welcome to our special guest house, the former Headmaster in Hogwarts, Slytherin Head House, Defense Against The Dark Arts and the Potions Master teacher. None other than.. Professor Severus Snape".
Henry, Susannah, Tobias, Ariana, Tristan and Aurora were staring at each other's faces. Did they hear right? Was that the name of their father Minerva announced.
Amid scattered applause by the students. Snape pushes the chair gently, politely bowing towards the students, while his eyes staring at his children. He was smirking.
"Professor Severus Snape who has kindly consented to fill the post of Potions while Professor Slughorn is away for another month. Good luck to you, Professor".
Immediately Snape eyes turn to Minerva McGonagall. Did he hear right? posting? Potions? becoming a teacher.. not again!
