Oliver and Lisa were decorating the barn for Eb's adoption party. While doing this, Lisa was doing some hard thinking. "Oliver, I just realized something. Eb is adopted by us now, but he doesn't know that I'm his real mother" This made Oliver nervous. To be honest, he didn't want Lisa to tell Eb.
Once the party started, Lisa knew that it was time to tell Eb the real truth. "Oliver, I'm going to go tell Eb- in front of everyone" Oliver was nervous, but he knew that it had to be done. Lisa walked up onto the little platform that they created in the barn. She tapped her glass. "I want to make a toast. Eb, I need you to come up here dahling"
Lisa looked Eb in the eyes. "Eb dahling, Oliver and I are so honored to be your parents now. I think back to all those days of hearing you call us mom and dad. Now it's really true! I have to get to the point" Eb looked at her questioningly. "What is it mom? You look nervous" "Well you see Eb, I was your mother legally before we adopted you. I got pregnant with you when I was younger by a stranger, and when you were born, I got to see you for a split second until my father took you away to your parents who you grew up with" Eb started to cry, but was still very confused.
Eb didn't want to make Lisa's speech awkward, but he wanted to talk with her in private. Eb whispered to Lisa, "Mom, can I talk to you in private?" "Well of course dahling! Come over here" Lisa and Eb decided to step outside as it was very loud in the barn.
"Now mom, what do you mean that you are my real mom?" "When I was a young girl, a man took advantage of me, and I found out that I was pregnant; with you. When you were born, I got to hold you for one second, but then my father took you away. He was mad at me for having a child. It wasn't until we moved out here, that I found out that you were my child"
Eb began to cry again. He now understood what Lisa was saying, but he couldn't believe it! "I love you mom. I always wished you were my real mother, but you were all along" "Yes. I didn't tell you because Oliver didn't know and I never thought it was the right time. Now I'm glad that everyone knows and it's finally official!" Lisa and Eb embraced each other in a warm hug.
