Okay, so this one wasn't quite as fluffy as the others but there's comfort so that counts right? Besides, I'm proud of myself for being able to write this while still being sick which is harder than it looks lol. I'm going to stick to more fluffy stuff than this from now on. I need the sweet comfort XD. This is also a sequel to my story 'Breathless'. You don't have to read that but it may help see the actual event that caused the trauma that caused Haru 'Acute Stress Disorder'. It's not a big enough incident for PTSD but this was interesting to write about.
Slightly shaky breaths left Haru's lips before they finally steadied as he finally settled into a sleep. It had been months since everything with Akuma had happened, and the monster had been let off with only a warning. Akuma had not bothered that, but his words still bothered Haru sometimes even when he and Rei were together. As Rei watched Haru sleep on their shared bed in his apartment – he had saved up money and gotten a double bed, in case Haru wanted to move in at some point – but right now, watching his boyfriend made his fists clench.
This wasn't the first time Haru had been triggered into a panic attack over something they were watching in a show and reacted the way he did, almost forgetting where he was for a moment. Rei knew it certainly wouldn't be the last and he wished he could turn back time to have murdered the bastard with his hands. His hands itched even now to wrap around Akuma's throat and strangle. With Hackmon's help, he could easily hide the body and get away with it.
A shiver distracted Rei from his violent thoughts and his gaze returned to Haru. Despite being in his jacket, his thoughts were probably making him cold. Rei grabbed a blanket from the cupboard, wrapping it around his boyfriend's body. This caused Haru to momentarily tense before relaxing and curling into the blanket.
I promise, Haru. I won't let anyone hurt you ever again.
