Chapter 12: The Return of the Banished God? The Ruthless Ice Conqueror of the Empire vs The Divine Aztec Guardian of Mexico! Part 2
Esdeath aims the spear at Quetzalcoatl while the Aztec God keeps a firm and focused look on the Ice General, he uses Aguas Místicas De Tláloc to heal his wounds but only the minor ones were healed. Esdeath lunge forward at the Aztec God goes right for the kill as she intents to stab him right through the heart but Quetzalcoatl slams his macuahuitl on the ground and created a large wave of fire that split the arena in two parts and make a go for his shield, this doesn't stop Esdeath though and she created a pillar of ice and then take a big leap over the wall of fire and dive bomb right at Quetzalcoatl with her spear in hand and ready, she land on her feet first and use the mix of force and her own strength to slam the spear down at Quetzalcoatl to split him right down the middle! But the Aztec God was able to get his shield and block the strike; he then used Escudo Del Sol Abrasador and hit her with a blast of heat. Esdeath back away and wince in pain, she hadn't reacted fast enough and as a result her right arm and leg were burnt, she used her ice to chill the heat and ease the pain, she took a defensive stance with the spear and waited for Quetzalcoatl to make the first move.
Quetzalcoatl had a firm offensive stance and once more had water and fire surrounding his macuahuitl. He lunge forward and attack with a flurry of strike with flame infused water, Esdeath counter by defending herself with parries and blocks, this continue until she see an opening and surrounds the blade of the spear in ice and goes right for the Aztec God's neck but he deflect with his macuahuitl and gets his cheek cut instead, the cut felt different from before, he knocks Esdeath back and take a moment to observe his new wound and wince at the touch but felt no blood just the cold touch of pain.
"I see now, she made the blade cold to the touch. Any cut she lands will instantly freeze, quite the dangerous move if she lands a direct hit on a vital point." Quetzalcoatl thought, keeping his gaze focused on Esdeath.
He heated his fingers and wiped away the freezing cut on his cheek to thaw out the blood. He took deep breath and then exhale, he continue to do this over and over until he started breathing out fire then he focus all his strength into his legs and blast himself forward and as Esdeath brace herself for another strike she was caught off guard when Quetzalcoatl uses Aliento Del Dragon: Fuego, unleashing a powerful stream of fire right from his mouth! Esdeath quickly created a thick wall of ice to block the attack and it was barely enough to hold it off but the gave Quetzalcoatl the chance to burst through and hit her with a powerful slash right to the abdomen, giving her a deeper cut then before and making her wince in pain, the Aztec God follow up by hitting her with a strong kick to the gut and sent her flying and slamming into the arena wall, she spat out blood and was panting from the pain. Quetzalcoatl doesn't give her the chance to recover and unleash another blast of fire from his mouth right at her and was seen engulfing her and creating a large explosion. There black smoke and Humanity dreaded that they had suffered another lost but when the smoke cleared it was shown Esdeath was gone, the Gods thought she was reduce to ashes but Quetzalcoatl known better then that and was right when a spear of ice slams right into his left shoulder, he look to the sky saw Esdeath. She gives him a dark smirk and licks the blood off her lips in a sinister manner. More spears of ice were created and she threw them at the Aztec God, he used Fuego y Agua: Ira de la Naturaleza to defend himself but more just kept coming.
As Esdeath was descending she created five ice clones with matching spears, when Quetzalcoatl was done dealing with the spears he ended up fighting the clones and doesn't waste time or energy on them and hit them with Aliento Del Dragon: Fuego melting them, this was all a distract Esdeath to slash the spot between the neck and left shoulder, causing Quetzalcoatl to gasp in pain and clench it, the same freezing pain and quickly heat up the wound and blood soon gush out, he would have heal himself but Esdeath charge forward and the two clashes weapons it was greatly more intense then before and they didn't waste a chance in landing a hit in, cutting each other up. Esdeaht got slash across the right leg, left thigh, right arm, left shoulder, and left side of her torso while Quetzalcoatl was slash across the chest, right arm, left leg, right shoulder, and right side of his abdomen, they two put all the strength their arms could muster up and struck each other so hard it created a shockwave and knock the two back. Esdeath was panting slightly but still had smirk on her face and use her ice powers to freeze her bleeding wounds shut while Quetzalcoatl use some heat to thaw out the freeze wounds and blood gush out and on to the ground he tries healing himself but not all of the wound heal so burnt them such and keep his eyes in Esdeath.
"Hahahaha, I guess you live up to your title of Highest Rank God." Esdeath told him. "You're indeed a strong God but if this tournament between Humanity and the Gods has proven anything, you Gods… aren't all powerful ever all." She said with an arrogant smile on her face, shocking and angering many of the Gods but Quetzalcoatl had a neutral face. "I mean fight after fight, Humanity has proven they can battle the Gods as equals and even kill them, although it could be that all those Gods that died were just weak… and the weak will perish while strong survive, such as the law of nature." She said with a dark look in her eyes and sadist smile. "Wouldn't you agree, Almighty God?" She asked.
Quetzalcoatl didn't say anything at first, he took in the information and processed it all then looked at the Ice General with a more relaxed face.
"You… make some fair points." Quetzalcoatl told her, surprising her and many others on both sides. "We Gods aren't all powerful… I never once believed we were, we can bleed, we can get hurt, we could even die…" He said, looking at the blood on the ground. "We love, we laugh, we feel sadness, anger, happiness, sorrow, fear, and hatred. In many ways this makes us a lot like humans… and honestly, I don't mind it." He said softly, a small smile appearing on his face.
Many were shocked to hear such words come from one of the most powerful God in all of creation, it was met with mix reactions, some God didn't like the fact of being compared to humans in any way, some couldn't help but agree with Quetzalcoatl, some out reject what Quetzalcoatl. Most of the humans could see the flaw in his words and were touched, others felt indifferent by them but one thing was clear; Quetzalcoatl's words were from his true and honored heart!
On the side of Humanity
"Sister… Lord Null, I didn't think Lord Quetzalcoatl felt that way." Geir said, brought to tears by his words
"Indeed, it was one of the reasons why he was so beloved by mortals." Brunhild told her, Null merely nodded.
"But wait… if Quetzalcoatl was so strong and powerful, why was he banished?" Geir asked, confused.
"A good question indeed, the answer to that is something that happened a great time ago." Lord Arcanel told her.
On the side of the Gods
"He really hasn't changed at all." Zeus said with a sigh, stroking his beard.
"Indeed, still as soft-hearted as ever. But it is what made him so beloved." Hades said with a chuckle. "Although it did nothing to damper his overwhelming strength and power."
"W-What I don't get is… why was Lord Quetzalcoatl banished if he was so powerful?" Ares asked.
"It happened quite a long time ago, my son." Zeus said seriously.
It happened a long time ago, Lord Arcane and Zeus explained how Quetzalcoatl was banished, it was after the great war that nearly split the Heavens and the God were having a meeting given the fact many of other Pantheons got swept in intense battle, Quetzalcoatl's pantheon was one of them. The Aztec God wasn't pleased with this and he wasn't the only one but he voiced his opinion on it, outright demanding the reason for this war to happen in the first place, he pressured either Zeus or Hades to tell the truth. They reveal that there was a traitor and a suggestion was made plus Zeus's overwhelming battle lust this was the reason for the war but Quetzalcoatl wasn't satisfied and noticed that a Greek God was missing and ask for Admas which was meet with silence and the one to tell him he doesn't existence, Quetzalcoatl demanded what Poseidon did and the God of the Sea remain silent, Quetzalcoatl put more pressure on and once again ask what Poseidon did and the one at answered was Zeus in telling him that Admas was murder by Poseidon himself and Quetzalcoatl merely ask why Poseidon killed his brother, his own divine flesh and blood, and the Greek God told him that he wasn't fit to be a God of Olympus because the Gods are perfect and have no need for armies, for support, they are the pinnacle of perfection in all of existance. Quetzalcoatl asked him if he truly believed that and when he got nothing in return, the answer was clear and Quetzalcoatl told Poseidon that if he believed in that then it was a pretty sad and pathetic existence. Poseidon outright tries to attack him which Quetzalcoatl response in kind, by outright pummeling Greek God of the Sea to a bloody pulp and would have kill him but out of his friendship with Hades and refusing to sink to his level spare his life but because Quetzalcoatl had badly injure and nearly killed a member of the council of Vahalla and one of the 12 Olympus Gods, he was strip of his rank and exiled, no one not even his own friend Hades spoke against it. Quetzalcoatl left without making a fuss and after regaining consciousness Poseidon had it declared that Quetzalcoatl never existed as well and once again no spoke against it.
On the side of Humanity
"T-That really happened…?" Geir asked, almost speechless.
"Indeed… Quetzalcoatl returned to his temple and was replaced by his brother; Tezcatlipoca." Lord Arcone said seriously.
"I remember that, it was marked in the book as a critical event in history." Null said, recalling reading about it.
"If that is the case then why is he fighting for the very Gods that banish him?" Geir asked.
"A good question indeed I'm afraid that's an answer that only a few Gods know." Lord Arcane stated.
On the side of the Gods
"H-Huh!? Lord Quetzalcoatl nearly killed Poseidon!?" Ares asked, shocked.
"Yep. He would have killed him but instead spared his life and the result of his actions got him stripped of his rank and banished." Zeus said firmly.
"Yes, it did." Hades said with a look of regret.
"I see, so the only reason he is fighting for us now is because you promise to restore his rank and title." Hermes said getting to the conclusion of the manner.
"Indeed I did." Hades said, nodding.
Hades looked at his oldest friend and wished things were different but choices have been made. Back in the arena Quetzalcoatl keeps his gaze on Esdeath and didn't once spare the Gods behind him a glance.
"Hahahaha, dear me. I never thought a God would say such things. Comparing yourself to me." Esdeath said, still surprised but amused.
"Don't get it twisted, woman. You and I are nothing alike." Quetzalcoatl said firmly.
"You're right about that, I'm much stronger." Esdeath told him, a sinister look in her eyes.
"I must ask you something… sense the very beginning of Ragnarok I've watched and observed closely. I watched Kenpachi Zaraki and Thor share a mutual feeling of strength, I've watch the great hero Saitama push back the Mighty Zeus, I watch Miyamoto Musashi kill the arrogance Poseidon, I've watch the Red Hood teach and murder the naive "hero" Hercules, I've watch Shiva take down the powerful Sagat with great difficulty, I watch the savage beast Cumber and equally savage Baldur fight with sheer and mutual intent to kill, and I'watch Buddha outright defend Humanity and take down Zero who turned into Hajin." Quetzalcoatl told her. "And it is my understanding that each one of them had a reason to fight and show off their skills and power but my question to you is, why are you fighting for Humanity and what's your reason for being her?" He asked her.
"Why else? I'm here to kill a God and prove that my strength is unmatched." Esdeath answered, a bloodthirsty smirk on her face. "I don't care for Humanity as a whole, the weak will perish and the strong will survive and rule over them, simply as that." She told him
"Your views on strength are narrow and flawed, at one point everyone was weak before they became strong, even you." Quetzalcoatl told her. "And you told me that you're the strongest but I can't see why given that most of the other representatives show off more power then you." He stated.
"These men did they're part and while most of them are indeed strong but some of them are still dead and if they are then they weren't as strong as they thought." Esdeath told her, unfazed. "There's no crime in cutting away the weak and only having the strong."
"Just as I thought, you truly are the worst." Quetzalcoatl told her, letting out a sigh. "I will prove to you that your views of strength are wrong and that true strength comes from within and others!" He shouted, a firm and determined look in his eyes.
"Can you still handle my power, Almighty God?" Esdeath asked with a smug smile.
"Be careful what you're implinding, woman." Quetzalcoatl told her in a warning tone.
"Indeed, words are cheap. Taking your head will prove my might after all." Esdeath told him.
Quetzalcoatl rushed forward at Esdeath and both clashed their weapons creating a small shock wave both of them had furious looks on their eyes.
Many wonder how Quetzalcoatl was so strong to the point of being on the level of Zeus and Odin. And the answer is in the past before Quetzalcoatl was born, his mother Chimalman found a divine sapphire and made a wish for a strong and pure child, when Quetzalcoatl born the morning star shine the brightest the even been like signifying the birth of a great hero of the Aztec Gods and as a child was told that by his mother believing he was destined for great things in the world. As a teenage God, he saw humans clashing against each other and performing sacrifices, he asks why they commit these acts to which his mother replies because they seek power because they're weak and believe that devoting their victory and sacrifices to their gods will grant them that strength but Quetzcoatl asks if that's really true and mother told less than normal. As he grew older and became worshiped by humans he feared having sacrifices and appear before them and asked them that no live be taken in his name in and instead they live for him, that caused the others Aztec gods to make fun of him and believe he'll never be anything legendary until one day a large meteor shower came and threaten to wipe out the city of Tenochtitlan with the people believing that its divine judgment but Quetzalcoatl decides to stop the meteors himself with the other gods believing that he'll fail because he had no sacrifices devoted to him believing to be the source of their power but he persist either way because he refuses to stand by and let innocent people die and proceed to stop them with all his power and to the surprise of the other god and even himself, he was able to destroy one of meteors and as he look back and seeing the people pray made him realized the true source of their strength is faith and proceeded to destroy the rest of the meteorites which led him to be seen as a hero by the people of both mortal-kind and Gods and the tale of him saving Tenochtitlan being spoken by the gods. So as time goes on, his followers grow along with his strength as he continually trains to get stronger and master his powers, eventually being able to control the elements. He was invited by Ometecuhtli and Omecihuatl to become one of the their sons the Tezcatlipocas which is more of a title than being their actual son in which he accepts easily becoming the strongest of the four rivaled by Tezcatlipoca and being called the Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli better known as "Lord of the Star of the Dawn" and his twin brother, Tezcatlipoca was actually a manifestation of his darkness and sent to Helheim to help govern it along with Hades.
On the side of the Gods
"Oh, my son. I do hope he survives." Chimalman the Mother of Quetzalcoatl said, concerned for her son.
"If anyone can win this is Quetzalcoatl, no matter how soft he is." Tezcatlipoca, the Dark Aztec God of the Underworld and Brother of Quetzalcoatl.
Back in the arena, Quetzalcoatl channel his power and created multiple golden light with blue flames around them, he attack with Estrellas Radiantes Del Amanecer sending all the golden and blue flames right at her, Esdeath created wall of ice to protect herself but the flames blast right through and hit her making a explosion and when they some thought the Ice General couldn't have survived but were proven wrong, she was able to but not unscathe most of her outfit was burnt up along with her skin but thanks to her divine spear she was able to deflect most of them. Esdeath charge right at him and unleash a barrage of thrust but Quetzalcoatl blocked with his shield, Esdeath was able to maneuver her thrusts to hit Quetzalcoatl in the chest a few times and put more strength and power into her attacks like she was trying to force the Aztec God back but he stood firm and parries the blows with his shield and counter with some strikes from his macuahuitl, the two clash weapons once more and it look like it was a stalemate but then Esdeath stabs Quetzalcoatl in his right foot and then multiple ice sipke appeared from under him and pierce and froze his legs, keeping him trap and Esdeath follow up by delivering a horizontal slash to the Aztec God's abdomen and then another to his neck but he acts quickly and deflect the strike so it end up cutting just below his neck. Both cuts left a mark of frost that slowly froze his body, Esdeath smirking at him believing she was the victor which caused many to dread for Quetzalcoatl and so they cheered him on.
"This is over, I'll be sure to treat your head with care when I cut it off." Esdeath said with a blood-thirsty smirk.
Quetzalcoatl remain quiet as time slow down for the Aztec God, it was clear that this mortal woman was fair stronger then he gave her credit and was giving it her all, it was only fair he did the same he normally didn't before because it always put a drain on his body. But now he had no choice but to give this his all!
Esdeath swung the blade of her spear right at Quetzalcoatl, everyone thought it was over save for a few. In a single moment, Quetzalcoatl had disappeared from sight and another moment later Esdeath was hit and sent flying and slams into the ground, she spat out blood. Quetzalcoatl reappear with bolts of blue and yellow lightning around him he cover his body in intense heat then heal his wounds and took a battle stance and with his shield in front and look like he was going to take swing with his macuahuitl more bolts of lightning came off his body and began to cover his weapon.
On the side of Humanity
"W-What just happened!?" Geir said confused and unable to process what just happened.
"It seems like Quetzalcoatl is done messing around and is taking this seriously." Lord Arcane told her.
"Quetzalcoatl is now using his true full power, he isn't the Master of the Elements for nothing… damn things aren't going to be easy." Brunhild said, biting her nail.
"You're right about that but Esdeath still has more to give but one thing is for sure, this is going to get messy." Null stated.
Back in the arena, Quetzalcoatl was getting ready to attack and Esdeath was bracing herself for the next attack, he hit Esdeath with Golpe Del Trueno Retumbante with a swing of his macuahuitl and release bolts of yellow and blue lightning, giving her a nasty shock. She was stunned for a moment and Quetzacoatl closed the distance between them with Relámpago Oleada Destello, bolts of lightning surrounded his body and appeared in front of her within a flash and hit her with a combo of super fast punches knocking her back. Esdeath tries to hit him with her spear but he blocks with his shield and delivers a fast kick to her abdomen knocking the air out her lungs and sending to the ground. Quetzalcoatl channel more lightning and attack with Calor Abrasador Del Relámpago a thick yellow and orange bolt of lightning hit her as she was getting up, Esdeath could felt her flesh cracking and burning but instead of killing her it merely damage her because she stab her spear into the ground so it would go through her and into the ground. Esdeath despite her lethal injures lunged forward ready to pierce Quetzalcoatl right through the chest but he deflect the strike and attack with Aliento Del Dragon: Agua and this fired a powerful stream of water from his mouth and hit the Ice General but then follow up with some lightning and give her a painful shock but once again she stab her spear into the ground to direct the lightning. Quetzalcoatl use Tierra De Ascensión, he raises his foot and slam it onto the ground and at first nothing happened but then the ground started to rumble and shake then a pillar of earth appeared from under Esdeath and sent her flying to the sky and use Benditos Vientos De Coatl gathering the wind around her to hold her in place and hit her with Calor Abrasador Del Relámpago cracking up her body more and with no way to direct the lightning she was hit with the full force of it, Quetzalcoatl finish her off with Ira de los Vientos Divinos having a large tornado of strong winds slams her into the ground. By the end of it, Esdeath was badly damaged with her body cut up and cracked with blood leaking out and burnt from the lightning and was barely breathing. Even though their representative was a cold-blooded murder the thought of taking another lose only fill them with dread, they thought it was over.
"You put up a good fight but it's over. Although you're an unforgivable monster I hope that by some miracle of fate you're reborn into a kinder soul that values life." Quetzalcoatl said in a soft and sad tone.
He raised his macuahuitl and was about to bring it down right onto her head, planning on smashing her skull to pieces. But he ended up making contact with two ice spikes instead, they suddenly appeared and protected her head. Quetzalcoatl was surprised but acted quickly and put more power into his arm and cut right through only the ground. Esdeath had manage to get up but she was having a hard time standing, her eyes were dull and unfocus along with her vision being blurry, she body was slightly rocking back and forth with some trembling, she had loss a great deal of blood and had other severe injuries but she still stood with her spear in hand.
"So… you can still fight?" Quetzalcoatl said firmly, his guard up.
Esdeath didn't respond, in fact Quetzalcoatl wasn't even sure if his words reached the Ice General, it was likely she moved out of pure instinct. He figured it was best to finish her off now before something happened.
"Where am I? Wait… wasn't I doing something? I was… what was I doing again?" Esdeath thought, her mind all fogged up from the pain.
"Hey! Get your head together!" Alvitr shouted. "I don't want to die because you get lost in thought! Focus on the fight!" She told her.
"Huh? Right… the fight. Wait… who was I fighting again?" Esdeath thought, still dazed.
"Arrrrrrrgh! Get your act together, if you don't snap out of it we are going to die!" Alvitr shouted in frustration. "Were you going to prove to everyone that you were stronger than the Gods!? Then prove it! Because it seems like you are about to be killed off like a beaten dog!" She said, hoping to get through.
Quetzalcoatl charged right at the Ice General and was going to decapitate her but Esdeath heard those words and finally snapped out of her daze and dodge at the very slash moment, only getting a graze on her neck instead. She was panting and plus with the drain of stamina and the severe injuries to her body, it wasn't in top shape.
"Hahaha, not so fast, Almighty God. This fight isn't over yet, not until I claim your head." Esdeath said with a bloodthirsty smile.
"If you think you can still win this fight then I must have hit you harder than I thought." Quetzalcoatl said in a firm tone, getting ready to fight once more. "With the state your body's in you won't survive this next attack." He said seriously.
Esdeath didn't take his word as a bluff, he was serious on ending this fight on his next attack. She was hoping to use this strategy later but she guessed with the state of her body that wasn't going to be the case, she took a fighting stance as well and tightly grip the spear. Quetzalcoatl rush forward at Esdeath with the intent of finishing her off but then a large thick wall in front of him and block his attack, he channel his divine power and coated his macuahuitl in bright intense red fire and delivers a powerful strike which blasted a hole in the wall but he couldn't see Esdeath. Quetzalcoatl was confused on where she might have gone but he didn't have to look far but she was on the ice wall and drop down while aiming for his neck but the Aztec God was able to block at the strike with his shield and counter with a deadly slash at the Ice General, she back away but wasn't fast enough and suffer the consequences by having her right arm being cut off, leaving her with one arm left, she clench the stump in pain and stop the bleeding with her ice and glared at Quetzalcoatl.
"It's over, the next time I attack you it will be your head that rolls." Quetzalcoatl told her.
"Tch, don't get ahead of yourself Almighty God." Esdeath told him, she gripped the spear and a bright shine was released.
She was now wielding a crossbow, it was white and gray with a blue arrow. Quetzalcoatl figured it was just the Ice General's desperate attempt of fighting. She pulls the trigger and fires an arrow, Quetzalcoatl raises his shield to block it but something shocking happens because instead of being one it multiplies into over a dozen! The Aztec God widened his eyes and was still able to block some of them but most still pierced his body. He grunted in pain, Esdeath then quickly retreated away from him and the moment he came at her, she activated her ice powers and used them on the ice wall and caused it to collapse on top of him and bury him in ice and snow. Quetzalcoatl burst out of it and pulled out the arrows and looked around for the Ice General, but all around him was a thick mist. Quetzalcoatl looks through the mist carefully and tries to feel out Esdeath's presence but it is completely gone, he tries using his wind to clear the mist but it only makes more of it.
Quetzalcoatl narrow his eyes as he look around and keep all his five sense up, all of a sudden a arrow came from the mist and nearly got the Aztec God in the eye but he was able to block with his shield and unleash a wind blade slash but hit nothing another arrow came from behind aim right for his neck but Quetzalcoatl once again block with his shield and counter with another wind slash but miss, a third arrow was aim for his spine but he block with his shield once more and was done with this game and spun his macuahuitl at top speed and channel his wind to pull the mist in and soon a tornado was created and was use to clear up the arena and once that was done Quetzalcoatl disperse it into the sky, all that did was reveal a surprise, an army of ice centaur soldiers there seem to be hundred of them and they look much more sturdy and powerful then her ice clones and were wielding lances and shields, Esdeath was riding one of them and had confidence smirk.
"Is this your plan? Was that why you needed to make a large cover to create an army of larger targets?" Quetzalcoatl called out but Esdeath merely smirked. "Fine so be it, bring all the might you have." He said, taking a battle stance.
Esdeath signals her army to attack and the ice soldier follows their order and charges forward, Quetzalcoatl ready himself as the first one delivers a deadly strike but he is able to block with his shield but the force and power behind the strike was much stronger then the ice clones, the ice soldier put more power and forces the Aztec God's feet into the ground. Quetzalcoatl gritted his teeth and force the ice soldier back, another ice soldier came from behind him and tries to stab him in the back but Quetzalcoatl block with his shield once more and channel the power of water and fire through his macuahuitl and delivers and powerful strike to the ice soldier back but it wasn't enough to destroy it and the ice soldier strike back but Quetzalcoatl parries the strike, two more came at him from the left with their lances at the ready and strike but Quetzalcoatl uses his gauntlet to block and attack with Aliento Del Dragon: Fuego, blasting them with intense red flames but they block with their shields, another one tries to get him from behind but Quetzalcoatl uses Relámpago Oleada Destello to dodge and hit it across the head with his lightning coated macuahuitl.
That ice soldier's head made a small crack and stumbled a bit but that was it, Quetzalcoatl "tch" at this and concluded that Esdeath put more effort and time to make these soldiers much more stronger and formidable in battle. A ice soldier came from behind and stabs him in the back of his left leg, he wince in pain and another ice soldier stabs him right in the back and another stabs him in the right shoulder and one more stabs him in the left side of his chest, Quetzalcoatl grunted in pain and gritted his teeth and covered his macuahuitl in red flame and water and attack with stream of fire and water hitting the ice soldiers with intense scalding water which made their body more fragile than the Aztec God attack with earth spike and broke a few of them, he then attack with Aliento Del Dragon: Fuego hitting them rest of them and follow up with Calor Abrasador Del Relámpago making their body crack up and finish them off with more earth spikes. Quetzalcoatl took a moment to caught his breath and pull but was hit in chest by a ice lance and turn and saw more of the ice soldiers charging him, Quetzalcoatl pull out the lances and met the charge head on and attack the first one with a powerful strike with his macuahuitl now covered in lightning hitting them directly in the head then stomp his foot on the ground and attack with more rock spikes but it didn't do much damage.
Another ice soldier came to stab him but he block with his shield while two more try to pierce him through the chest but he block with his macuahuitl and gauntlet, the ice soldier put more power into it and were trying to push Quetzalcoatl back but he gritted his teeth and stood his ground but the out of nowhere an arrow pierce his left eye, he let out a cry of pain then mutter a few curses under his breath and attack with Aliento Del Dragon: Relámpago he release a thin line of lightning from his mouth and cut most of them in half then attack with swung of his macuahuitl and release a intense wave of fire and engulf them. He put the arrow out of his eye and even when he healed the wound he couldn't see out his left eye.
"Tch, damn woman." Quetzalcoatl mutters, looking at the bits of ice on the tip of the arrow. "So this is how you want to play then, huh? So well, I really don't like doing this because it drains so much energy but there's no choice." He said seriously, glaring at Esdeath from a distance.
He channel is power into his macuahuitl, fire and lightning now coated it and when the one of the ice soldiers came at him and he attack with Chispas De La Serpiente Armilla unleashing a blooming explosion of fire and lightning which broke the ice soldier, another one tries to get him but he spun around and hit it with Tormenta Eléctrica Carmesi, multiple lightning bolts surrounded by red flames strike them and cause them to crumble. Quetzalcoatl was panting a bit and when two more of them came at him from behind so counter with Alboroto Del Dios Del Trueno Ardiente unleashed a wave of fire and lightning which engulfed a few of them and destroyed them. Another came at him from the right side, he attacked with Rayo De Levantamiento De Xolotl which was a large gathering of lightning around his macuahuitl and he delivered a ball of lightning and created an explosion, taking it out. Three more ice soldiers rush at him and Quetzalcoatl attacks with Rayo Sagrado: Flash De Dios his body was covered in lightning and he delivers a powerful and fast strike to the neck and face but the ice soldiers merely stumble so he follow up with Rayo Sagrado: Colmillos Resplandecientes attacking the in the form of lightning dragon ready to bite and take them out.
Quetzalcoatl was panting, he stopped combining his elements because it drains him much faster that he can only do a couple at a time so he focuses on a single element. As he ready himself for the next rush of ice soldiers he was hit in a heel by an arrow, he wince and goes to grab it but was then hit in the throat by another arrow, Quetzalcoatl let out a gasp and quickly pull out the arrow from his throat and heals it before it was too late. He get the arrow out his heel and just him in time to block the lances of the ice soldiers with his shield, he channeled his elemental powers into his hand and attack with Rayo Sagrado: Holy Ray which was a barrage of compressed lightning and fire and created yellow and red lasers piercing through bodies of the ice soldiers. More came right at him and were trying to overwhelm him but Quetzalcoatl channeled fire into his hand and punched it into the ground and attacked with Erupción Floreciente causing lava to explode from under them and taking a good chunk of them.
"Enough of your games, women! You call yourself the strongest but you hide from me!?" Quetzalcoatl shouted.
Esdeath remain hidden and Quetzalcoatl tightly gripped his macuahuitl in anger, and raise his macuahuitl high in the air and both hands gripping it, he slams it onto the ground and cause a huge explosion of lava to appear and take a great number of ice soldiers, more ice soldiers came rushing right at him to swarm and kill him, Quetzalcoatl jam his fist into the lava and channel his power and attack with Erupción floreciente: Colmillos Ardientes and earth-looking serpent made of lava came from his fist and engulf many of the ice soldiers. The Aztec God exhaled but was then hit by another right to the chest and it nearly got his heart, he pull it out and crushed it, he hit by more arrow of these are had of solid ice and Quetzalcoatl turn and saw more ice soldiers and they were wielding bows and arrows made of ice while others had spears and swords and they look to have more armor on them. The one with close quarters weapons rush at Quetzalcoatl while the long range weapon ice soldiers attack from a distance.
Quetzalcoatl let out a battle cry and attack with combo of fire and lightning and destroy of them and damage a few but two stab him in the chest with spear and one with a to the back, he gritted his teeth in pain and delivers another destructive strike of fire and lightning he was hit by a few ice arrows, he merely endure it and attack with a combo of fire and water this time and then unleash more earth spikes, most of the get damage and on two are destroy. Quetzalcoatl attack many him with with a combo of fire and water strike and then quickly change it back to lightning and fire then finish with mix of earth and fire which cause a splash of lava and was able to get a couple them but there are still more left and swarm him and attack him getting him with more ice spears and swords and rain ice arrows, Quetzalcoatl tightly grip his macuahuitl and use a mix of fire and wind and attack with Viento Escarlata: Huracán Ardiente and release a large fire tornado that engulf all the ice soldiers. He fell onto one of his knees and was panting and covered in wounds from all the ice weapons and even as he healed himself there was still more.
Quetzalcoatl channel all his power into his macuahuitl and unleash combine attack of fire and wind once more created a intense heat wave then follow up with wave of lava by mixing earth and fire into his fist and slamming it to the ground, then release a blast of fire and lightning resting a explosion of destruction and finish with a downpour of water and fire. He saw many of the ice soldiers destroyed or damaged badly and attacks with Aliento Del Dragon: Viento release a barrage of wind blades which cut up many more of them, but only more showed up and were ready to fight, Quetzalcoatl "tch" and saw what Esdeath was planning, she was going to keep sending waves and waves of these soldiers until the Aztec God couldn't fight or likely die be it from an her arrow or one of the divine ice weapons, Quetzalcoatl needed to end this now.
"This can't keep going on like this." Quetzalcoatl thought, looking at the remaining ice soldiers. "It looks like I have no choice, my body is being pushed to the limit and all my combo attacks are only draining me faster." He thought, placing his macuahuitl in its sheath.
Quetzalcoatl puts his hand together and channels his divine power through his body and a golden aura was released and then the Aztec God transformed into his Sky Serpent form, he let out a mighty roar. He had thick green scales with rainbow feathers all over his body with two three-clawed fingers on the front and two back ones, he had glowing golden feather mane, and golden eyes with black slits. Quetzalcoatl took to the air and was soaring above the arena, he released a breath of red fire at the ice soldiers taking them out and looking around for Esdeath, smelling her out.
"Huh, I wasn't expecting him to transform into such a beast. He looks like a Super Class Danger Beast but is likely stronger than one." Esdeath said, finally appearing still on riding an Ice Soldier while looking at the Sky Serpent. "Hmph, so we're truly getting serious here? Fine by him, all you've done is make yourself a bigger target." She said with a sadist smile.
Normally this would have taken Esdeath more time in creating them but thanks to Volund she can create these Ice Soldiers within seconds but she can only make a few at a time. She made a few more and had them wielding thicker and large bows with spears, she had them aim and fired at the Sky Serpent and many of them flew and hit Quetzalcoatl but his scales and feathers were too tough but them to pierce, he growls and unleash another stream of fire at them. Most of them were burnt to nothing but a few of them had shield, Esdeath created ice chains and had the ice shield use them on Quetzalcoatl and so as the ice soldiers fire the spear they had chains around them and they got wrapped around Quetzalcoatl, he roar and thrash his body to break free but the ice soldiers had their feet frozen to the ground. They yank and pull Quetzalcoatl into the ground, he growls and unleashes a blast of lightning from his mouth this time taking out many of them and he follows up with a blast of wind blades and cuts them up. He saw Esdeath and his growl is more feral and he unleashes an intense blast of fire from his mouth right at her, she jumps off her ice soldiers and fires a few ice from her crossbow but they were burned to nothing. Quetzalcoatl rushed at her and opened his mouth ready to rip her apart with his mighty jaws and razor sharp teeth but Esdeath covered herself in a dome of ice. There were still ice soldiers left and attacked the Sky Serpent as he pounds against the ice dome.
"It seems things are getting quite intense and serious." Esdeath said, seeing cracks forming. "It is part two of my plan." She said, holding out her hand and then closed it.
Once she did that all the ice soldiers along with any ice that was left within the arena shatter and release a mighty blizzard that swallow up everything in the arena, Quetzalcoatl let out a roar and took to the sky to get out of the icy storm and he was able to but most of his body was covered in ice. Esdeath took control of the blizzard and had it form something else.
"I think it's time for another fighter to return to the arena for another fight, wouldn't you agree?" Esdeath said with a sinister smirk.
And to everyone's shock at what appeared to be a complete copy of Cumber's Great Ape form although it was a smaller version of it, Esdeath jumped high into the air and right into its chest. Moments later, the ice great ape let out a roar and swung it fist at Quetzalcoatl but he dodge and flew right at the ice construct and sunk his fangs into its right shoulder and wrap of his body around the waist and squeezed, trying to crush it. He tore a chunk off and got ready for a fire breath blast but the ice great ape grabbed him by the throat and pushed it above its head and squeezed tightly and with the other fist, repeatedly punched Quetzalcoatl's in the face. He growled in pain and caught it with his teeths and put pressure and tries to crush the fist the Ice Great Ape took a deep breath and breath out a blizzard and tries to freeze Quetzalcoatl's face but let go and shake his head and blast the ice copy in the face with lightning which damage it's face a bit and cause it to stagger back, it growled and tighten its grip on the Sky Serpent and slam it into the ground over and over. Quetzalcoatl grunted in pain and opened his mouth and unleashed a blast of wind blades once more and hit the Ice Great Ape and the ice copy of the beast marched forward and stomped on his head.
Quetzalcoatl wrapped his tail around the foot on his head and lifted it off him and tossed it to the side then he unleashed another blast of fire and took to the sky and breathed out a thick mist of water and healed his injuries. He divebomb right into the giant ice copy and slammed into the chest once more leaving a dent with spiderweb cracks, the Great Ape Ice Clone stagger back but it stood firm and when Quetzalcoatl rush it, the frozen duplicate of the beastly Saiyan swung their tail and hit them across the face. The Ice Great Ape Clone slammed their fist into his face and threw another punch but Quetzalcoatl caught it with his mouth and unleashed a blast of fire from his mouth and took off his fist! Quetzalcoatl slither and coil around it and squeeze until it starts to crack and then the Sky Serpent bite down on their head. The Ice Great Ape Clone struggle and thrashed about to try and break free but Quetzalcoatl only tightens his hold and squeeze even harder and more cracks start to form, the head was suffering the same as Quetzalcoatl took in air once more and unleash a blast of fire and created a powerful explosion and took out the head.
The moment he did that, Esdeath appeared, she jumped out of the body! She gripped the crossbow and a white light was release and now Esdeath was wielding a battle ax and slam it into his neck, digging into his scaly and use her ice powers to deal internal damage and caused ice spikes pierce out his neck and body dealing severe and even fatal damage which caused blood to spill out and he let out a roar of pain.
Quetzalcoatl turned into his normal form, the wound he's suffering was a large cut that went from his neck all the way to the abdomen and left leg, the ice shatter and blood gushed out like crazy. This injury was too much for him to heal on his own and fell to his knees and tried to stop the bleeding, Esdeath admired her work and knew that it was over for him.
"You put up a good fight, Mighty God. But in a battle of wits… you lost." Esdeath said smugly.
Quetzalcoatl was unable to form words and could only grit his teeth in pain and anger, he needed to stop the bleeding now or risk death from blood loss, only if Esdeath doesn't try to kill him herself. He created a wall of earth between him and her then used his wind to get some distance and grabbed his shield.
"I never thought I would have to use this but I have no other choice." Quetzalcoatl thought, vomiting up blood. "Resurrección del Fénix!" He shouted, activating the secret ability of his shield!
A bright red and orange flash of light came off the shield and Quetzalcoatl's body was covered in flames that formed a phoenix and once it was over his body was healed up but at a price. Quetzalcoatl's body was no longer bleeding out but his body now had a scar where the bloody wound was he pulled out his macuahuitl and placed his shield back on.
"Well, ain't that a surprise. I never thought you had such an ability hidden up your sleeve." Esdeath said surprise but kept her cool.
"It's always best to have such a trick hidden up your sleeve." Quetzalcoatl said calmly. "Unfortunately, I can only do it once per battle."
"Well now, I guess you're right about." Esdeath said in an ominous tone with a smile.
Quetzalcoatl thought it was time to end this and rush forward and Esdeath thought the same and both of them swung their weapon at full strength and the moment they hit it created a small shockwave. Both of them clash weapons making sparks and more small shockwaves, Quetzalcoatl slash Esdeath across the torso with his macuahuitl with wind around it, Esdeath slash Quetzalcoatl across the chest with her ax coated in ice, Quetzalcoatl cut her left shoulder, Esdeath cut his right leg, both of them cut each other up and blood spill out from Esdeath but she froze them shut while Quetzalcoatl heal his wounds. The Aztec God added fire to his macuahuitl and the wind made it more hot and intense, Quetzalcoatl delivered a downward swing at Esdeath and she met with one swing of her ice coated ax and caused their weapon to get knocked out.
Esdeath delivers a hard kick to the abdomen adding ice to her heel to stab him, he grunted but flexed his muscles and held her in place and channel wind around his fist and punched her in the gut, causing a small blast within her body and causing her to spit up blood. She clench her gut in pain and had just suffered from internal damage, Quetzalcoatl threw another destructive wind punch to her face, knocking her back and putting her in a daze the Aztec God ready another punch but Esdeath snap out of it and block with her arm and created a ice shield and get knock further and slam into the wall. Her arm was trembling from the internal damage and Quetzalcoatl throw multiple punches hitting her in the right leg, her left torso, and the face once more and the longer she try and dodge the punches the more sluggish her movement became to the point she could barely move a muscle and Quetzalcoatl finish with a punch right to her heart, blasting through her! The Aztec God thought it was over but then he was stabbed right to the chest and nearly got his heart hit by an ice spike, he looked and saw Esdeath was alive and had been created by her feet.
"How? I struck her heart! The internal damage could have dealt her in!" Quetzalcoatl thought in shock and confusion.
"I have to thank you for bringing me back, it was very risky of what I did and could've died." Esdeath said to Quetzalcoatl. "I had to slowly cool down my body to the point where my heart had stopped."
"What!? She did such an act in order to counter my wind punches!?" Quetzalcoatl thought in shock at such a stunt.
"Aaaaaah, don't look so shocked. I'm just fighting smart." Esdeath said, smirking at him. "I was lucky he aimed for my heart if he had hit anywhere else I would have died." She thought but then spit up blood and clenched her chest a bit.
Esdeath had more ice spike pierce Quetzalcoatl and froze his muscle, he grunted in pain and started breaking free but made sure to not get any of his organs pierced so he released great amounts of heat. Esdeath pick up her ax and walk up to the God, she created the ax to a sword and was getting ready to finish him, Quetzalcoatl let out a battle cry and break free and use his winds and call forth his macuahuitl and aim right for her head but this was part of her plan.
"Time to unleash my own hidden trick." Esdeath thought and cupped her chest near the black mark. "Mahapadma." She said and just like that, time was frozen. "Checkmate, Almighty God." She said, stabbing him through the chest and encasing his whole body in ice.
Time continued once more and everyone was in shock at the sight before them, Quetzalcoatl, The Strongest Aztec God, one of the Highest Rank Gods of the Council, The Divine Guardian, was defeated? Some couldn't believe it as they thought it was impossible.
On the side of Humanity
"L-Lord Null, what happened!?" Geir asked in shock.
"The trump card for Esdeath's Imperial Arms, Mahapadma. The ability to freeze time and kill her foes." Null explained. "It seems this was her plan from the moment she formed her ice army." He told them.
"Impressive, she planned out all of that just for this one moment where she would finish him off." Heart said, rubbing his chin. "How devilish."
Back in the arena, Heimdal was trembling as he couldn't believe his own eyes as Esdeath looked proud of her work. She turned to him and it made his blood freeze with fear as she gestured for him to come, he squeaked in and stepped forward.
"Don't you think it's time to call it? This man is as good as dead." Esdeath said, to the frozen God.
"W-W-W-Well… i-i-it just… t-t-that…" Heimdall tried to say but before he could, a crack was heard.
The encase Aztec God had a crack and more formed, Esdeath ready herself while Heimdall ran away, the ice prison burst in a cloud of steam and it was seen that Quetzalcoatl was still alive but no well, he was panting and shivering a bit. Esdeath was wondering how he was able to survive but she figured that she must have missed his heart and got careless.
"Well… color me impressed on you surviving. I guess I'll have to be more certain in killing you." Esdeath said, readying her sword.
Quetzalcoatl didn't respond, it seemed like he was more focused on heating up his body, it looked like it took a lot of energy for him to break free, she had frozen him from the inside out. He was lucky in his heart being missed when she stabbed him in the chest but the overwhelming freezing he was dealt and trying to break free took a lot out of him.
"I was careless, I blindly rushed at her without thinking and paid the price for it." Quetzalcoatl thought, panting. "I don't count on it, woman." He said, getting serious.
Quetzalcoatl used his divine power and unleashed his Hybrid form, four rainbow wings appeared from his back, green scales appeared on his chest, arms, legs, part of his face, he had yellow reptile eyes, and he had dragon-like claws on his fingers. He lunge forward at Esdeath and throws a strong punch aim at the gut and the moment Esdeath's block with her sword it broke in half he stomp his foot on the ground and pillar of earth slam into her back and pins her against the arena wall, he then channel fire, lightning, water, and wind all at the same time and unleash the powerful combo attack and even when Esdeath tries to block it with her ice, she still get it and created a explosion!
Quetzalcoatl was panting a bit, losing more energy and couldn't maintain his Hybrid form. Esdeath was badly injured and laying slump against the wall, she was burnt and bloody from the combo blast with her broken sword by her. Quetzalcoatl goes to pick up his macuahuitl and was going to finish this and her.
"He's unbelievably strong, even for a God." Esdeath thought, spitting blood and her body felt numb.
"Is that really all you got!? After all that talk about being strong and surviving, hmph! Pathetic." Alvitr shouted.
"Quite the mouth on you little girl, if you wish to survive then I suggest you do something to help." Esdeath said to her.
"After you went and had me get broken!? You want me to do more for you!" Alvitr said in anger but let out a frustrated sigh. "You better be grateful and win this, you bloodthirsty animal." She said with an attitude.
"You truly have a mouth on you, girl." Esdeath said darkly with a smile, grabbing both pieces of her divine weapon.
Quetzalcoatl had his macuahuitl and was ready to end this but then he sensed something and turned to Esdeath, her mark started to glow and real a white light that blinded everyone for a bit and when it went down it reveal Esdeath was back on her feet, she had black sclera, red iris, and yellow pupils, the black mark had the Valkyrie symbol added and she even had a new arm, it was made of ice, blood, and pieced of the divine armor it look more beastly and demonic, it was ice blue. She exhaled and a mist came out, she almost looked like a demon, and the most surprising was the fact that she was wielding a sword in one hand and a spear in the other hand. This was Re-Volund Arms!
On the side of Humanity
"Lord Null, what happened to Esdeath? Why does she look like that?" Geir asked, confused and a bit frightened.
"It might have something to do with Alvitr, it seems like she combines her ability with Esdeath's Imperial Arms." Null explained. "It affects her body so it is likely that she has become part Danger Beast."
"She truly is a dangerous woman to be able to handle such an experience let alone survive this long fighting Lord Quetzalcoatl." Brunhild said with a shiver.
Back in the arena, Esdeath felt different from how she was before, she felt stronger, more divine. Quetzalcoatl let out curse and activated his Hybrid Form once more and lit his macuahuitl on fire and added wind and lightning into the mix, the moment he and Esdeath's eyes made contact, they knew this was it.
"Time for the final act of this fight, Almighty God." Esdeath said, her voice a bit deeper.
"Let's end this." Quetzalcoatl said seriously.
Esdeath charged forward and thrust her spear and Quetzalcoatl block with his shield and swung his flaming lightning macuahuitl but she blocked with her ice covered sword and clashed! Quetzalcoatl released a blast of pressurized water from his mouth, Esdeath moved her head out the way but her right ear was hit and took some of it off. She didn't look fazed and countered with a slash from her sword and cut off two of his fingers on his shield arm, taking off his ring and pinky finger. Quetzalcoatl attack with upward swing unleashing a wave of fire and lightning that would have engulf her but she created a wall of ice to take the attack and when it was destroy, Esdeath lunge forward and thrust her spear at his neck but he deflect it with his shield and swung down his macuahuitl but the Ice General blocked with her sword then unleash some ice spike but Quetzalcoatl counter with rock spikes then breath fire at close range to her face but Esdeath unleash a ice breath to cancel it out and back away, she swung her spear and release a couple of ice shards at him but the Aztec God unleash a blast of lightning and charge forward and goes a strike to the neck in order to break it but Esdeath block with her sword and stab Quetzalcoatl in the abdomen, he didn't flinch and bash his head against hers dealing a dazing blow he repeated this a few more times, he does it once more time but end up hitting a hard surface and hissed in pain and it was show that Esdeath was now wearing her armor while still wielding the spear, which she pull out and swung at his neck but Quetzalcoatl blocked with his shield and thrust forward with a spiralling flames and hit the Ice General in the chest and knocked her back, leaving a visible dent.
Quetzalcoatl flapped his wings and unleashed a wave of wind and heat, Esdeath unleashed a wave of icy winds and the two attacks clashed and made steam. Esdeath used it as a cover and thrust his spear at the neck but Quetzalcoatl block and swung down his macuahuitl with a mix of fire and lightning and hit her right shoulder but the armor protected her but some of the damage of the explosion, she counter with spike of ice and pierce his chest. He grunted and knee her in the gut and form a sphere of air around it and dealt internal damage and follow up with Viento Escarlata: Huracán Ardiente hitting her and making it unbearable on the inside so she switch to a crossbow and right a barrage of them and only hit his arms, legs, and chest, Quetzalcoatl's skin was much tougher so he flexed them off and surrounded his body in lightning and rush at her and hit her with a barrage of strike from a mix of earth and fire! Esdeath grunted but endure that pain and charge her spear into a sword and unleash a wave of ice spikes, Quetzalcoatl put up his shield and block more of them but some still hit and Esdeath rush at him and fired more arrows at the Aztec God and he deflect them and unleash multiple wind blades with lightning around them but Esdeath turn the crossbow into a battle ax and deflect all of them and hit Quetzalcoatl in the chest with a cross slash. Quetzalcoatl fired Esdeath with a blast of boiling water, scalding her and following up with lightning to shock her! She gritted her teeth in pain and power through it and jump high into the air and created a boulder size ball of ice and drop it down, Quetzalcoatl release a powerful blast of fire from his mouth, reducing it the steam but second a spear come through pierce Quetzalcoatl's chest hitting the right pec and Esdeath come in fast and grip the spear and plants both her feet into his gut and bury her battle ax into his chest further then pull out, jumping back! Quetzalcoatl grunted in pain and spit out blood but let out a battle cry and charge forward hitting her with an explosion of fire and lighting then follow up with barrage of up pressurized water and wind, Esdeath made wall of ice to block and switch her spear for armor and rush at him and swung the battle ax at him but he blocked with his macuahuitl.
"Hehehe, after all of that he can still fight? He truly is a high rank God." Esdeath thought, licking blood off her lips and grin at him.
"She is still able to keep up and push me back even after all of this? I expected nothing left from a monster of a human." Quetzalcoatl thought, spitting up blood and reaching his limit.
Quetzalcoatl pushed off Esdeath, both of them were panting. Quetzalcoatl dropped his Hybrid form to save stamina, he wiped blood off his lip and spat out the rush to the ground and took his fighting stance once more, a calm and focused look on his face. Esdeath let out a chuckle and decided to humor the Aztec God and drop her armor and switch it out for a sword, she walked up and was well within his striking range.
"You are quite the powerhouse, you truly are strong." Esdeath praised the Aztec God. "He's more troubling than I thought he would be, I need to end him with Mahapadma and strike his heart."
"So are you, you have real strength and skill in combat." Quetzalcoatl told her. "If I can't finish her off here then I'll need to use my final trump card." He thought.
This was it, both fighters knew it and acknowledged each other's strength and tactical mind. Plenty of blood was shed on both sides and this was the final act of their fight, the God who seen everyone as equal and the Mortal that sees everyone as inferior.
Quetzalcoatl used his full power and swung his macuahuitl at Esdeath's neck. She block with her sword and battle ax, the force behind it cause her feet to sunk into the ground, she push off and attack with upward slash he blocked with his shield and thrust his macuahuitl at her, she parry it with her battle ax and thrust her sword and goes for a stab to his abdomen but he parry it and bash his shield across her face, she wince in pain and cut him across the chest with a swing of his sword, he wasn't fazed and kneed her in the gut and follow up with a swing of his macuahuitl and slashed to the chest, she doesn't flinch from the pain and swipe her beastly arm at him and slash his face, leaving a scratch on the left side of his face. The two were in close quarter combat with the intent to kill each other instantly, the clash grows more intense as they strike faster and viciously while also blocking and parrying.
Esdeath stabs Quetzalcoatl's right leg just above the kneecap making him grit his teeth and smash his shield on the top of her head repeatedly, she pulls out her sword from his leg and back away, blood painted her face but she still had a sadist smirk. Quetzalcoatl follows up with a full power swing of his macuahuitl and slash her human arm just below her elbow making blood gush out and damaging the bone. Esdeath swung her battle ax and cut deep into his torso and get his liver, he spat out blood and slammed the edge of his shield into her abdomen and cause her to spat out blood from the severe internal damage, she let out a more animalistic growl and aim her sword at his neck but he blocked with his macuahuitl. Esdeath and Quetzalcoatl back away from each other, both bleeding out from fatal wounds, Esdeath freezed her shut while Quetzalcoatl burnt his shut, both of them were panting heavily and had lost a lot of blood but still continued the fight. Esdeath and Quetzalcoatl rush at each other and once again strike with their weapons at each with the intent to kill, they continue and cut and hack away at each other's body, painting the ground with their blood along with fire and ice. Esdeath cut Quetzalcoatl's left bicep which cut a few nerves and muscle, the Aztec God smashed his shield against her forehead and fractured her skull, Esdeath stabbed Quetzalcoatl's right kneecap breaking the bone, Quetzalcoatl smash his flaming macuahuitl against Esdeath's beastly arm getting the elbow, Esdeath pierce Quetzalcoatl's abdomen with her sword and chilled his insides, Quetzalcoatl grab Esdeath and first shock both of them then superheated his body and both of them are engulf in an explosion of fire.
"This is it, I need to end this and her while I can still stand." Quetzalcoatl thought, looking at his shield and letting out a sigh.
"It's now or never, I need to get him with this strike." Esdeath thought, channeling all her ice into her beastly arm and sword, making it become bigger and more demonic, reaching absolute zero.
Quetzalcoatl raises his macuahuitl and smashes it into his shield at full force, shattering it! This shocked everyone and confused a few that didn't know what the Aztec God was doing. A intense heat was released as a golden fire was around him and focused it to his macuahuitl, it was just as hot as the sun making it equal to the meteor that killed the dinosaurs. While Esdeath switches out her battle ax for the armor.
On the side of Humanity
"This will be it…" Null said seriously. "How this will all end comes down to this."
"Yeah, by the feeling of there Ki this will be there all." Hearts said, sensing the energy from the two. "I never Quetzalcoatl still had so much power left in the tank."
"That's what makes him the Highest Rank Aztec God." Lord Arcane said seriously.
"I-I'm not sure how to feel about this." Geir said, looking at the arena.
"Just watch the fight, Geir. This can only end in one way." Brunhild told her.
"Right." Geir said, watching.
On the side of the Gods
"This is it… Quetzalcoatl's final trump card, the absolute power that is equal to a meteor." Hades said, looking at the fight.
"It's been decades since the last time I saw that technique." Zeus said, getting excited for the climax.
"How exciting, I wonder how this will end! I can't wait to see." Loki said, getting excited.
"It all comes down to one thing, who has the greater strength." Hades said, hoping his friend would win.
Back in the arena, Quetzalcoatl had destroyed Piedra De Sol to activate his final attack, Xiuhcoatl. The Aztec God had both hands gripped tightly around his macuahuitl that was now surrounding golden fire, the heat was so intense that it dry up any blood on Quetzalcoatl's body, Esdeath had to low the temperature her own body as much as possible without slowing down her movement, her beastly arm was cold to the touch and such ice would kill. This was it, Quetzalcoatl and Esdeath look each other in the eyes on more time and charge, as they rush at one another a million thoughts were running through their head, how should they attack? How should they dodge to survive? What would be their opponent's next step? How would they counter? If they even made one mistake it would be a fatal error that would end with their death.
Quetzalcoatl decided to attack with a horizontal slash aimed right for the head! He put all the strength he had from his body into his arm and strikes with all his might! Esdeath smirked at him and as the attack was inches away from hitting, she activated Mahapadma and froze time her decided attack was a sword thrust right to the chest, piercing his heart and then encasing him and solid ice, colder than what anyone could handle. Time continues and it reveals a sight that horrified everyone, Quetzalcoatl the Aztec God and Divine Guardian was frozen solid with a sword through his heart. Everyone thought it was over and the Gods look on in horror and shock but then for the second time the ice prison shatter and Quetzalcoatl was free, his heart was beating so loud it sound like a thousand drums were going off, his skin was bright red and steam was coming off his body and out his mouth. He raised his macuahuitl and golden flames burst off it and made sure to hold Esdeath in place and brought it down and created a powerful explosion that was so strong it made a golden flash of light!
Esdeath was sent flying through the sky and hit the ground, her whole body was burnt and her beastly arm was vaporized and her armor was broken and burnt black, her face and upper body was seen. Quetzalcoatl fell to his knees and spat out blood and grabbed his chest, his vision was blurry and he looked close to death.
"That was close, I nearly died for a second time from that move." Quetzalcoatl said, healing his damaged heart as best as he could.
"H-H… ow?" Esdeath gasped out.
"I merely copy your move, I figure you would use that move once more so I increase the temperature by superheating my blood to counter the chilling ice." Quetzalcoatl said, looking at his wound.
"I-Im…pr-pressive." Esdeath said, coughing and gasping.
"Not so impressive, given the fact my heart is in a critical state." Quetzalcoatl thought, the risk being more great then he thought, even with his healing ability.
The Aztec God was having a hard time trying to recover so he could feet and finish off Esdeath, the Ice General was in severe pain and struggling just to remain conscious but she forced herself to try and get up but only managed to get to her knees. Quetzalcoatl was able to get up and limp through the Ice General, he had his macuahuitl to her neck and look her right in the eyes.
"It's… over, undo… Volund." Quetzalcoatl told her, confusing the Gods and surprising the mortals. "Normally, I kill you now… but that Valkyrie… is innocent… so release her, and… except you defeat… with a… painless death." He told her.
Esdeath looked in his one remaining eye and saw that he wasn't lying, she couldn't barely move her body, her Re-Volund Arm was unusable at this point, and she barely used any of her ice but she refused to submit to the Aztec God, if she was going down then she'll take him with her.
"H-How… foolish, you're truly… no different from… the others… I fought." Esdeath said to him.
Quetzalcoatl wasn't what she meant but he saw her grab the sword and go for his heart once more! He blocked with his left arm and winced in pain but finished her by ramming his macuahuitl through her stomach. Esdeath spat out blood and knew that she wasn't going to make it out of this but gave the Aztec God one last sadistic smile that was now bloody, showing a truly terrifying face.
"It will be a cold day in hell before I submit to you, Quetzalcoatl." Esdeath said darkly. "So… take my final gift, straight from the heart."
Quetzalcoatl didn't like how she said that and he was proven right when ice started to encase her body and spread out his arm, he slash it off and back away quickly. Esdeath's whole body along with Quetzalcoatl's arm was fully frozen in ice, it started to crack and then it shattered, releasing light particles. Alvitr could be seen in the light particles and look sad but had a face of acceptance. Quetzalcoatl down in shame, he clenched the stumb and was debating on whether or not he could stop the bleeding.
Meanwhile the Gods in the crowd cheered for gaining another win and gloated at the mortals, Quetzalcoatl wasn't proud and couldn't stomach what he had to take part in, although Esdeath deserved her punishment it came at the cause of Humanity's loss.
On the side of the Gods
"He managed to win, I expected nothing else from him." Hades said, relieved for his old time friend.
"Indeed, that's another win for us." Zeus said, pleased for the win but that also meant the agreement that Hades made needed to be held.
"Lord Quetzalcoatl is truly a scary warrior." Ares said but also glad for the win.
"He sure doesn't look happy after being able to survive a fight with such a vicious mortal." Loki said, looking at the arena.
On the side of Humanity
It was completely silent, people in the crowd didn't know how to feel about their loss. Hearts had a cold look on his face, Brunhild's eyes were shadowed as she had a stoic face, Geir was trying not to cry but failing, Lord Arcane looked more mournful, Null had this aura of emptiness.
"Well, I guess it's to be expected from a High Rank God." Hearts voiced.
"Indeed, this was never going to be an easy fight but the result proves that." Lord Arcane stated.
Brunhild clenched her fist tightly to the point of blood leaking out and smashed her fist against the column so hard it shattered in pieces! Startlingly Geir, her older sister still looked angry and frustrated but before she could attack another Null stop her, she looked into his eyes and he could see it all; anger, frustration, sadness, and hatred. He covered her hand with both of his and a few seconds later it was all healed, the oldest Valkyrie walked and the Bookkeeper followed after her. When they were out of sight, Brunhild leaned into Null's chest and cried softly and all the Observer did was stroke her head.
Back in the arena, Quetzalcoatl spat out blood and fell onto one of his knees. He was panting heavily, no doubt from blood loss and the damage to his heart.

Quetzalcoatl force himself to his feet and walk off, he had enough of the cheers of the Gods and betray and resentful look of the crowd of mortals, he felt sick to his stomach. On his way out he ran into Hades, the Netherworld King looked at him and offered a hand but the Aztec God refused.
"I kept up my end of the deal, see that you do the same." Quetzalcoatl told him, a colder than he intended.
"You did good out there, I'll be honest though I thought you might bite it…" Hades told him.
"Hmph." Quetzalcoatl merely said in return. "But I didn't, so you worried for nothing."
"Can someone worry about their friend?" Hades told him.
"Friend? We stopped being friends a long time ago." Quetzalcoatl told him, harshly. "You made your choice on whose side you were on, you can pick your friends but not your family, right?" He said, walking passed him.
"If I could take back the pass I would, if I could undo my mistake I would, I wish to fix what I broke.." Hades said honestly.
"Some things are beyond fixing, King of the Netherworld." Quetzalcoatl told him softly and walked off.
Hades out a sigh and watches the God that was once his friend walk off. He was right, he broke his friendship when he took Poseidon's side and only made it impossible after this.
Meanwhile, Geir was still mourning the loss of her sister. Null and Brunhild came back and it looked like her tears had dried, Brunhild walked up to Geir and kneel before her and embrace her.
"I know it hurts, I feel it too but we must continue on… for Alvitr's sake." Brunhild told her softly.
"I… I just… I just can't stand it." Geir told her, still crying.
"I know, I know." Brunhild told her, soothing her.
Null felt something on his face and checked and saw it was blood, he started to get light headed and lean against a column to support himself, he would have fell if not for Hearts.
"Careful now, you better watch your step." Hearts told him in an even tone.
"Right… thanks." Null said to him.
The group heard heavy footsteps and saw it was Quetzalcoatl, he looked even worse up close. It was clear that he needed medical help and fast or else he would likely drop dead from exhaustion.
"Lady Brunhild…" Quetzalcoatl said, panting still.
"What are you doing here, Lord Quetzalcoatl?" Brunhild asked him.
"I came here to apologize for what I've done." Quetzalcoatl told her. "My actions can not be taken back, I doomed Humanity to another loss and push them closer to extinction. And… I killed you sister, I am sorry." He said, his voice full of shame. "All because I was given the chance to be given my rank and position back."
This caught Brunhild off guard by this and did know what to say, Null was far from pleased from seeing the God but was going to voice his opinion, Hearts didn't care but chose to listen in just in case, Lord Arcane was surprised but kept a calm face. But something surprising happened, Geir was looking at him with a lot of anger, so much so that her face was red and it had a few veins.
"You're sorry?" Geir muttered, clenching her fist. "What right do you have to say that!?" She shouted, running at him and punching him with all her might! Which didn't hurt much but it shocked everyone present. "Bastard! Jerk! Murderer! Jackass! Asshole! Fucker! Traitor! Just drop dead!" She shouted, hurling all kinds of insults at the Aztec God that he could think of, throwing punch at the punch.
Quetzalcoatl didn't put up any resistance as he watched the young Valkyrie hit him, Geir started to tire out but still would have kept going but Null pulled her away. She was weeping now as he just rubbed her shoulder.
"I see… I understand, if my words are not enough for you. Then you can claim my life as a way to avenge your fallen sisters." Quetzalcoatl said, getting on his knees and placing down his macuahuitl before them.
Geir looked shocked at this but looked away from him, Brunhild gave the Aztec God an unreadable expression, she looked at the macuahuitl then back at Quetzalcoatl. She pick up the weapon and it was heavier then it look but she was still able to hold, Null and Geir thought that she might actually do it, Quetzalcoatl had look of acception and closed his eye and embrace his end but then she place it in his hand, shocking him.
"Stand up, Lord Quetzalcoatl. If you wish to make amends then use your rank to help Humanity, it was the reason you fight so use it to help." Brunhild told him in a professional tone. "I suggest you head to the infirmary before you bleed out." She told him.
"Right…" Quetzalcoatl told her.
Quetzalcoatl put his macuahuitl back in the sheath and forced himself up, he limped off but couldn't get far and he looked to be on the brink of blacking out. So a medical team came to pick him up and carry him off.
"I'm surprised, I figure you take the chance to kill a God, Brunhild." Null said to her.
"It's not my time yet to fight but believe, I fully intend to murder my opponent with my partner." Brunhild said seriously and coldly.
"Okay…" Null said, walking off. "I guess it's time to prepare for the next Round."
"Indeed." Brunhild nodded.
Elsewhere within Valhalla, Kanoh Agito was seen panting and covering sweat so much that it made a puddle, Sigrun looked scuffed up a bit but had a smile on her face.
"Well done, Agito. You manage to perfect your fighting skill, you are a completely different beast then you were before coming to Valhalla." Sigrun told him.
"Then it is time to show the Gods the true power of human martial arts." Kanoh said, slicking his hair back.
