Chapter 5
Lisa exchanged looks between her husband and his father. She took a deep breath. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. The being infront of her looked fine on the outside. But the emotions that he was showing. It was like he was becoming something new. Something different. Taking a step forward, she put a hand on Q's shoulder. Saying nothing. Q looked over his shoulder, he gave her a sad smile. Like he knew it was all coming to an end. Or a new beginning. Either way, this Q. The one that she had known all these years, was dying. She could see the uncertainty in his eyes.
And looking over at Ellie, she could see how much love he had for the young girl. Even if the Continuum love was considered to be a taboo, she could see it in the Entity's eyes when he gazed upon his precious Ellie.
It was hard for her to believe that the same entity who put humanity on trial when she was a teenager was the same man who was standing in front of her at the moment holding her child. And he wasn't making any snide comments about humanity. He was just trying to enjoy time with his family.
In a reality that he made just for his granddaughter. Looking back her husband, she cleared her throat. "Ok," she began. "We can play this game. But.." Her gaze shifted back to the older entity again. "Everyone stays safe, No one gets hurt. Not like your other games," she added with a tone of voice that implied that she was not to be messed with.
Q held up his free hand, nodding in agreement.
"No one will be harmed," he agreed. He looked at Ellie. "I wouldn't dream of hurting her," he said softly.
"I want your word," Lisa replied.
"I give you my word, no harm will come to Ellie while she is here with me."
Turning back to look at her husband, Lisa didn't say anything. He just nodded in agreement. He knew that his father was telling the truth. They both did. They both could see it in the way that he looked at the youngest member of the family.
"Well, well," a voice echoed through the walls as it came closer to them. "Who is the tiny being my husband is holding?" it continued as a female with fiery red hair strode her way over to them. Stopping just short of the four people that were in front of her, the female placed a hand on her blue satin covered body. Looking over at Junior, the red head's gaze softened. "It's been so long since I've seen you," she said with a touch of sadness in her voice. Reaching over, she gently touched the side of Junior's face with a look of love on her face.
Lisa arched an eyebrow. "Who are you?" she asked, watching the other female closely.
The red gave her a slight glance before turning back to Q and the small child that he was holding so closely in his arms like a precious gift.
"I'll ask again," she sighed heavily. She arched an eyebrow. "Who is that and why is my husband holding it?"
Junior shot the red head a glare. "That is my daughter," he replied. "You're GRANDDAUGHTER."
