Intruder Alert
Chapter Eight
Captain Chip Morton had been trying to stay patient as much as he could while waiting to answer he had asked about his crew and submarine.
Colonel Lee Wong had gotten up from his swivel chair to say the following. Besides those here down in the laboratory region. The rest of the crew is on the other side of the island along with your submarine being closing guarded by the residents of this particular island. A handful will be taken to this locale for where the GPS tracking device will be fitted."
"For what purpose Colonel? Along with the fact that the Alliance president of the United Nations will be extremely angry once he finds out about the Seaview disappearing?" Morton advised with a hint of a snicker.
"You mean Darien?" he will mention his name with the question. "Darien doesn't know what is going on since all of his communications had been sabotaged on board his own vessel, and at the headquarters of the United Nations. Even your Admiral Harriman Nelson doesn't know where you are at the moment. However, he will know about the 12 bodies that are dead and will be flown back to the Nelson Institute?" he croaks out with his response.
"I just don't believe this at all as to why this is happening in the first place?" Captain Chip Morton needed to say.
"Listen, Captain, I and my rebels can only do so much here to stop the non-alliance members trying to gather further information with the aliens they had gotten involved with for global dominance. Slowly we are working on opening a small region of space to try and send a coded message to your Admiral Nelson to let them know where you're located. But I am afraid that time is running out with the Bellius is on its way here and those same aliens are trying to slow them down with the breakdowns of their equipment." he was pensive with his statement.
"Is there any way Colonel that I can get to my people on the other side of the island in order to get them to help you and the rebels to take over?" Captain Morton was trying to be bold by asking for his help.
"I can get Lauren and her associate to help out Captain since they are not being watched that closely.
Colonel Wong tells him with needing to drink some of the cold water in the white pitcher by taking one of the small plastic cups sitting on the table.
While all this was going on back at the Nelson Institute
Nelson is home on the grounds. As he's resting on the brown recliner in his library trying to relax he could with a number of worries on his mind.
When all of a sudden he heard someone walking inside to be standing at the entrance of the door. It was his wife Syrian having arrived back after 18 hours of traveling on two different means of transport. She was never so glad to be back home and the Institute.
She had a feeling that her husband will be relaxing in the library as the housekeeper had alluded to her before coming to the library. "Harriman, are you alright?' she advised quietly with the question.
Sitting up slightly on the brown recliner to say the following. "No, I am not Syrian. Too much to think about with not hearing anything further from Seaview. Even though the 12 bodies found in the waters of Saipan are on their way back to the United States. The commander in charge of the Naval base was able to send me the list of names." he croaks out with his emotions.
She came in closer to her husband with a kiss on his chapped lips. "Anybody important from the Seaview on the list Harriman?" she barked back with the upsetting question.
He blows up to be sitting up completely with his blood pressure rising. "Where do you get off Syrian to say that none of the Seaview crew is important? however, none of the command staff for the Seaview was on the list. Even though there is a possible chance that the list just might be wrong?" he noted to his wife feeling bad for him at the moment.
"I am truly sorry Harriman. I will leave you to your rest while I go change of these clothes to make dinner if you like?" she pleaded with him with another well-placed kiss on the lips.
"Stop already! I want you to call for Chinese food instead?" he was being defensive with his wife for a long time.
"I will call then and get the usual order, Harriman. However, I will need you to bring me up to date on what is going on with the Seaview and Bellius. How soon before they arrive at the location of the Seaview disappearing?" she preceded to say...
"It's another four more days before they reach the coordinates. However, the Bellius had been suffering from shipwide system shutdowns. Captain Crane and Commander Danny Wills are trying to keep the crew together since they are untried for this cruise."
"Don't you think sending Lee Crane to run the cruise was a mistake?" she will give him a piece of her mind even though exhausted from the long flight.
"It was the only thing I needed to do in order to break him out of his year-long funk since the divorce with Commander Rose Marie Cerley. However, I spoke with his second wife Lisa and she tells me that he's been a real bear to be around," he noted with a exhale getting off the recliner feeling slightly off-balance all of a sudden and an image in his mind.
She turns to hold her husband up in her arms seeing the paleness of his face for the moment. "What happened Harriman?" she regretted asking in the first place.
"I really don't know at the moment Syrian, even though there was a flash of an image of an island and several people inside of a compound and the Seaview sitting in some type of a harbor," he muttered under his breath.
"Could it be that the Seaview crew is trying to project it to you or another alien force is causing it? If this is the case, Harriman, you're going to be needing to be talking to Doctor Anthony Sterling to discuss the fact this might of happened? You've been around aliens over the years that had messed some of your crew members' minds. Maybe you should try contacting Darien as well?"
Turning to face his tired-looking wife. " I have tried several times without success. No one knows where he's located at the moment. As for Doctor Sterling, I will call him now to set up an appointment with him to be coming here to the house on the grounds." he alludes with grabbing the black house phone to contact the doctor at his office since he stayed behind on the cruise leaving the rest of the sickbay crew to run the department.
INSTITUTE Doctor Sterling's office
Even though it was beginning to get late. Doctor Anthony Sterling is alone in his office with a ton of files sitting on his desk. Though he had been asked by five of the personnel on the grounds to have his services as a therapist instead of a regular doctor.
He had a slight headache as he removes the rims of his glasses onto the black table. Even though he had asked to change it to a different color.
It was at this moment his office phone began to ring he was annoyed all of a sudden that it was Admiral Harriman Nelson on the line. He had no choice in the matter to speak with him.
"What can I do for you Admiral Nelson?" he intervened with the question while looking at the time to be seven-thirty at night and he needed to get the reading done.
"Anthony I need to speak with you in person about images and dreams I had been having and the latest one was moments ago when my wife arrived home from Russia. I believe some force is trying to tell me, something Doctor? Can you come to my house so that we can talk?"
This was a good idea with his excuse that he doesn't wish to read the rest of the files. He can do them in the morning. "I will come to your house, Harriman. Just be sure to have some whiskey waiting for me and a sandwich since I missed having dinner?" he paused briefly...
"Okay, I will have the Whiskey and a sandwich. Actually, we have ordered Chinese food and it should be here soon. Would you like soon Doctor Sterling?" he will ask with his generous offer.
"I love Chinese food and I will be there in 15 minutes Harriman," he says hanging up the phone to gather up his personal belongings.
