He has been warned by his boss Ayana Bell. He has just met Noah and finds this out. Two groups could have put the hit out on him. The group that is after him is either the Mercy Killers or The Brotherhood. But Ayana has a sneaky feeling that Donnelly is setting Elliot up. Donnelly is part of The Brotherhood which he is investigating. Nova is undercover with The Mercy Killers. He is sneaking around a Mercy Killers warehouse when Nova blindsides him by putting a gun up against him and pinning him to the wall. While all this is going on Liv does not know he has been set up so she texts him. She starts to worry because he hasn't texted her back.
This does start to worry hurt but she shakes it off. While across town he is still being held up against the wall by the gun that Nova has pushed up against his chest she says something to him but we cannot tell what it is that she says. He does not have a bullet vest on so if he gets shot he might not come back like he did the other time when he was younger. As soon as she lets him off the wall she shoots him. As soon as he falls to the ground he is gasping for air.
She runs out of the warehouse and leaves Elliot to die. Luckily someone finds him and calls the cops and an ambulance. As soon as Ayana entered the building she saw Elliot on the floor she automatically asks what happened. The EMTs followed in right behind Ayana and loaded him onto the stretcher to take him to the hospital. While on the way to the hospital bell is in the squad car and calls Olivia. She answers the phone Captain Benson, what's up sergeant Bell. Bell tells Olivia that Elliot has been shot and she automatically asks what hospital. " Bell says he is going to Mercy. She asks bell what happened. She is so frantic that she forgets her keys and Fin is like would you like me to drive you to the hospital she agrees. She asks Amanda to pick up Noah from Lucy at her apartment.
When they get to the hospital the ambulance has not arrived yet. As soon as the ambulance arrives they bring him into the ER. She asks what happened to you and she is crying. He is having a lot of trouble breathing all he says is I was shot. All of a sudden he flatlines.
