Intruder Alert

Chapter 17th

Captain Chip Morton was angry at the doctor. But he was right in a way with himself, Sharkey, and Kowalski needing to rest after the emotional episode. Even though he had lost under his command with several of his crew having been killed in the process.

When he finds out all of the names of their deaths. He's going to be needing to be writing letters to their families like Captain Lee Crane had to do over the years once he had given up his command to take over the Nelson Institute.

Even though I still think it was a mistake to do so in the first place. Captain Morton changed out of his soiled clothing into his white pajamas and slippers to lay down on his bunk exhausted. He had set his alarm on his black wristwatch to wake him up in four hours nevertheless.

While Sharkey and Kowalski had been doing the same with everyone on board had been adjusting to being back on board the Seaview still not believed it had happened. The Seaview had left the port of Saipan heading out to sea and home that was going to ten at least ten days along with a debriefing with SECNAV, and ONI on what exactly happened. Even the United Nations will be involved with the alliance members, though the new aliens will be filing a document to join the Alliance in spite of the issues they had to face.

Meanwhile on board the Bellius...

Captain Lee Crane had asked the four from the Bellius one to come into his quarters to discuss the operation and the outcome.

He had set up drinks for everyone to have while Commander Danny Wills walked in first along with Chief Petty Officer Timmins, Patterson, and then third class Sarah Goodman.

Captain Crane watched the four of them walk in looking somewhat dejected or was it exhaustion for the most part.

"Okay, let's get started, everyone. Commander Wills would you say that the situation with the aliens had turned out well?" he alluded to the question as he was sipping his drink as he tells them to do the same while Commander Wills will answer the question.

"Captain Crane, I am still slightly confused as to why these aliens had to use mental imagery to Admiral Nelson and your wife Lisa to have us and the Seaview involved in their own take over plot?" he pointed out with his comment.

"This is why we need to find out for sure Commander Wills? Even though there are 20 crewmembers dead because of it nevertheless." Lee Crane needed to say with sipping his Bourbon drink.

Sarah Goodman will say the following. "Sir, I need to ask whether or not the United Nations alliance has advised Darien of the situation?" she almost coughed on her drink since she wasn't used to drinking like this.

"They were able to be contacted by Darien and his spaceship to be here in four days on another life-saving matter in the galaxy. I have a feeling he's not going to be thrilled with the idea that an alien race fighting each other for dominance only to wind up killing 20 of the Seaview crewmembers." he exhales feeling his emotions getting in the way again.

"That's too bad sir," she noted with her short comment.

"Me too," Crane said asking the following. "Commander Wills do you think this woman Lauren will have her people join the alliance in the first place?" he recanted with his question.

Thinking about it for the moment...

"Yes, sir, she will convince all of them as to why they came here in the first place Captain. It's a damn shame they had to resort to something like with the laboratory to place the GPS tracking devices into the Seaview crew and with the side effects once they were removed?"

"I agree with you on that fact. Is there anything else to discuss the operation?" he asked...

"There is sir I would love to know more about the cloaking device since the Seaview has the Flyer with a similar type of device?" Sarah Goodman having to be an engineer as with Patterson was curious.

"Maybe Lauren will allow us to examine the cloaking device when Darien gets back from his mission?" Captain Lee Crane says to the group.

"Sir, I must admit that the power cost of hiding the laboratory base was enormous. I was amazed that there were openings in the energy field once the Bellius One was able to leave the bubble?" Commander Wills had to say on the subject.

"Patterson, are you able to check the computer systems when it comes to the number of energy levels used with the cloaking device?" Captain Lee Crane needed to ask the importance of the question.

"Yes, sir, I and the engineering staff will get to work right on with the results of the cloaking device." Patterson had to tell him.

Thinking about it for the moment with the suggestion.

"Actually Pat, I want only you and Third class Sarah Goodman to work on the equation of the energy power levels. Maybe we will be able to store that kind of power to our Flyer and the cloaking device we have as well?" Lee croaks out with his response.

"Sure, captain. Do we only report to you or Commander Wills as well?" Patterson was pensive for the moment thinking about the question he had just asked.

Placing a hand through his hair. Lee will say the following..."The both of us in case one of us get into trouble."

Chief Petty Officer Timmins barked back with his response. "What is that supposed to mean Captain Crane?" he pointed his hand at him.

"Just that Chief Petty Officer on whether or not we have someone on board the Bellius might have come on board with the Intruder Alert alarms to go off with having to be disabled," Lee noted with the rest of the group not believing in what the Captain was saying in the first place. "I want Commander Wills, Timmins, and the two engineers with their department to check all of the wirings on the Bellius. Do I make myself clear with the order?"

With a unison response by everyone.

Meanwhile, the group broke up with Captain Lee Crane to call the Seaview to have a full report from Morton having to be in his quarters when Sparks had received the coded message.

Morton had gotten up from his bunk feeling better he pressure the Intercom button. "What is it Sparks that I can do for you?" he hesitated briefly with his response.

"Captain, It's Captain Lee Crane of the Bellius. He wishes to speak with you needing a full report from you?" he inquired with his response.

"Put him on line one Sparks." taking a moment for the line to be switched over to the intercom. "Lee how are you old pal?" he noted with a deep breath and a slight headache all of a sudden.

"I should be asking you the same question Chip. How's the crew doing since being back on the Seaview?" he motions with his exhale to be heard over the intercom.

"Surviving right now Captain. Since those that are on board, we have a total of 21 deaths that are on the way back to the Institute. Four departments are short of personnel and I have decided to intertwine the crew with working in those departments to get the experience so desired." Captain Chip Morton recanted his statement.
