Casually, this was going to be a one-shot, but I thought it'd make for a cute story for when I want a smut break looool

As usual, i don't really know what I'm going to update next, but school comes first. I just really wanted to get something out to have a lil chat with yall

hope you like it!

Some folktales and fables outlined the world, reminding people that lessons were to be learned or how foolishness could consume you with one wrong move. How it was better to be wise rather than selfish. How being kind without thought could land you in the worst of situations.

Some didn't have a lesson and instead told you about the existence of particular creatures. Werewolves, kappa, vampires, wendigo. And how to protect yourself.

And then there existed stories of the lonely, locked away beings that were forced to live a life of solitude.

Like the girl on the moon.

She was a princess, so his mother had told him. A forgotten princess locked away by the stars themselves. And not because she did anything terrible, but because they didn't want to lose her.

They loved her so much that they wanted to keep her hidden from everyone else. It's said because she was too beautiful to be seen by anyone unworthy of her. They wanted to protect her, even if she didn't like it.

Natsu always cried when she told him that story. He wanted to be her friend; share his toys and snacks so she wouldn't be so lonely anymore. It became his habit to talk to her, at least when he was younger.

Every night before bed, he would sit by his window and tell her about his day, wondering about her own. He always managed to save part of a snack or meal, leaving it on the sill for her to enjoy. And when he woke up, it was always gone; he was happy knowing she had something to eat.

As the years progressed, Natsu paid mind to other things, leaving his imaginary friend in his childhood.

Every once in a while, when he looked toward the sky, he couldn't help but smile. It was a cute story, he thought. And maybe a part of him still believed there was a girl trapped in its core.

The young adult groaned, tossing himself on his side for the millionth time that night. He just couldn't get to sleep.

Usually, he was tired enough after work. He passed out without a problem, but his parents forced him to use up all of the vacation time he accumulated over the years. A whopping total of four months…ugh.

He worked at his family's dojo with some of his best friends. They also had been badgering him to at least take a Monday off once in a while. But how could he when his students were so eager to learn from him? Romeo was turning out to be one of his best students, too; he didn't want Gray's instruction to get in the way of his success.

Work didn't even feel like work; he always had a blast and was constantly surrounded by family. So why would he ever need a vacation from that?

But even his parents insisted that he take some time, maybe develop a new hobby. But, again, his job was basically his hobby. He ran, boxed, watched karate movies, and practiced new forms of fighting. He was a pretty simple guy that made time for his kitten; what more did he need to do with his life?

Gray and Gajeel figured he should go out and get a girlfriend; it'd been a while since he broke up with Lisanna. They were high school sweethearts, though their breakup was amicable. Lisanna wanted to travel the world, and Natsu was happy to stay in their hometown. They were just meant to do different things in life, and they promised to remain friendly.

Maybe they were right, but Natsu didn't feel like he was the type to go out and search for someone. He'd meet the right person when it was time; getting drunk and hooking up didn't sit right in his stomach.

He reluctantly sat up, getting out of bed to get something to drink. Only three months and two weeks to go…wonderful.

He took quiet steps through his apartment, careful not to wake the blue cat curled up in his hammock. Happy at least deserved a good night's rest. He grabbed a bottle of iced chamomile tea, hoping it'd help calm the unnerving stillness that ran through his head.

Returning to his room, he walked out onto his balcony, breathing in the crisp night air. Natsu was a relatively warm person, so he never found the atmosphere too uncomfortable, even when the sun was down.

He took a sip from his bottle, casting his eyes over the quiet city, street lights and signs illuminating the distance. Then, he looked up, smiling at the full moon while drinking a bit more.

"Hey, Luce. It's been a while, yeah? Sorry, I've been a bit busy, we haven't talked in a while. But that's no excuse. I should check on ya when I have the chance. I hope everything's fine up there. Hopefully, they let you out of your castle every once in a while. Fresh air can really do you wonders, I'll say. It's so boring without having my schedule to stick to…maybe we could have some fun together, just like old times. I figure your night is my day, so I hope you like breakfast for dinner."

He kept his eyes on the sky, watching the clouds slowly pass by. Finally, a yawn graced his lips, and his eyes felt droopy; finally. He gave one last wave before heading back inside, settling under his blankets with a comfortable smile.

Morning came and the sun made its way through the curtains, the stream of light stirring Natsu from his slumber. He yawned, stretching slightly as he attempted to sit forward. He raised a brow, suspicious at the weight that kept his right shoulder pinned.

"Happy? Bud, did you get into the fridge or somethin'? Why're you so-?"

Natsu cut himself off as he opened his eyes, the gentle snore of another person reaching his ears.

"What the…" He stared down at a girl with golden hair, her eyes shut and the rest of her body hidden under his sheets. He could feel the silk garb she wore, warmth from her hands wrapped around his bicep.

Natsu carefully laid back down, giving himself time to try and understand the situation.

He knew he locked the door and lived on the twelfth floor, so how would she have gotten in? Unless Happy learned to undo the lock, it seemed unlikely. And he would've known if he had a stalker, but even that scenario didn't make any sense. They would've at least had the sense to tie him down if it was someone who meant ill will. Waking her up was probably the best way to figure this all out.

He gently held her as he sat up, blushing somewhat as she cozied against him. If he took the time to look, she was actually pretty cute. The observation made him feel like he was in the wrong here, Natsu quickly shaking his head. He carefully slipped himself out of her grasp before laying her back down and scooting toward his wall.

He took a deep breath before shaking her carefully from her sleep. He pulled his hand away as she grumbled, Natsu watching and waiting carefully for her to wake.

Her hand carefully reached out across the bed, her nose scrunching and her eyelids lifting.

"Natsu…where are you…" Her voice was light, a bit hoarse from slumber. He felt his chest tighten, unable to resist the urge to reach out and grab the hand looking for his.

"Right here," His throat felt dry as he answered, the blonde slowly getting up with a yawn of her own. "Um…"

The blanket slipped down to her hip, Natsu casting his eyes anywhere else; there was such a thing as too much cleavage. At least for the strange woman sleeping in his bed.

He felt his cheeks flush as she enveloped him in a hug, her arms tight around his neck.

"Oh, Natsu…" He awkwardly put his arms around her, panic slowly rising in his chest as she began to weep.

"Is everything okay?" He asked, slowly rubbing his hand against her back. "Can't say it is when it's the first thing you do after waking up."

She didn't answer right away, her hiccups and sobs filling the empty space in his room. He sighed as she only clung to him more, refusing to let go of him for even a second.

"Wanna tell me your name? I feel like that would clear up most of the confusion." He chuckled, peeling her away enough to help wipe her tears.

"O-Oh, right," She nodded, her wet eyes meeting his own. "It's…um, it's me, Lucy."

I bought a handheld keyboard to write with while I'm chilling in my blankie the, so unnecessary but I'm having so much fun

its like a game controller; lowkey feel like my creativity is a lot more fluid with this!

in other news, I have something to share!

A couple of weeks ago, I was sexually assaulted by a girl I was acquaintances with. I've slowly been feeling better, but I know I'm not my old self anymore. I'm wary of getting triggered, so I haven't written any smut in a while. Even Greedy Dragon has been a bit hard to look at. So it might be a while for me to make an update with any smut. I really hope you understand and thank you for your future patience!

I think this story will help me feel more comfortable writing again, same with His Crush! I think that's where I'll put most of my focus until I feel like writing smut again
