Intruder Alert

Chapter 21th

Lisa walked over to her husband after the steaks were done as he started to eat his food having to starve. She wanted to find out the full truth as to what was going on with the conversation with Admiral Harriman Nelson.

"Lee, what did Nelson say on the phone?" Lisa will ask annoying him slightly with the question.

Everyone at the barbecue including Chip Morton chewed on a corn on the cob smothered with butter and salt.

"Listen, Lisa, I might as well say something to everyone here right now." he alluded. Lisa will sit back down on her lounge chair along with Sharkey coming outside after using the toilet from too much beer. "Everyone, I have something to be said with a call I received from Admiral Nelson."

Morton will say the following..."So what is going on Lee?' his voice somewhat dry as he needed to get himself another Budweiser. Carol kept her eyes on her husband since he's not been getting drunk today of all days.

"Admiral Nelson tells me that Lauren of the Cajun rebels called the United Nations and the Institute to let them and us know that they have decided to join the alliance after taking a vote with those with her, while the captives in the cells will be turned over to the alliance. It seems that none of those involved wished to see the captives killed." he exhales...

"I will have to say Lee that it's wonderful news in spite of the fact the Seaview submarine had lost 21 personnel because of their inner action to stop prior to killing them in the first place." he was pissed as hell as his anger was taking over his senses.

"Chip, please calm down already!" Carol cried out by getting off the chair to help her husband of 25 years.

He turned to face her saying that he was angry because of the deaths. Otherwise, he's going to be alright with a corn on the cob. While Sharkey and his wife headed for the platter with the steak, chicken, and spare ribs.

Elizabeth will say to her husband in his ear. "Sharkey, do you think as to why Chip Morton had gotten upset that quickly might be the GPS tracking devices that might have caused some mental harm to the crew?" she had a question that had to be answered in spite of the fact the alien race is going to be joining the alliance.

"Now that is interesting Elizabeth! Maybe I should speak with Doctor Anthony Sterling later at home and asked him the question?' he noted taking the last bite of his spare rib and the mess from the sauce.

The barbecue lasted another hour before everyone was breaking up by saying good night.

Chief Sharkey walked into his apartment complex with his wife Elizabeth behind him. he had turned on all of the lights inside the living room. There was a note on the coffee table by his nanny telling him that his daughter Sarah age 12 was out with friends, the nanny was with her as well as a chaperone for the most part.

"I really don't know about this Elizabeth?" he croaks out with the question about his daughter from another marriage now divorced for the past five years. He had married Elizabeth a year ago and has to be a communications officer at the Nelson Institute.

"It can't hurt to help ask him, Sharkey with the question?" Elizabeth was trying to be involved in his work and in general their lives.

"Okay, I will call him. Even though I have no idea whether he's still awake or has gone to sleep?" he will call the main number that will be put through the main switchboard to have the number sent to his home on the Institute grounds.

Doctor Anthony Sterling sitting in the library of his apartment complex had a cup of tea sitting on the table next to him in the library. His wife Margie had come in with the late-night snack with a Turkey club sandwich and pretzels with the tea.

"I do hope Anthony you're going to like the sandwich since I added the extra tomatoes on the top?" she paused for the moment when his house phone was ringing. The caller ID tells him it's Chief Sharkey of the Seaview. "Chief, what can I do for you, tonight?" he alluded to asking the question.

Exhaling slightly..." I am sorry to be asking you this question again Doctor. I seem and others think that there is something going on with Captain Chip Morton ever since the GPS tracking device had been removed?" he responded looking over at his wife Elizabeth.

"You're not the only one that has voiced their opinion Chief, now that you have said something, I will have to ask Morton in the morning to come to see me for a complete checkup on whether the GPS tracking device has done any damage to his brain thinking process?" he points out...

"Good Doctor, I am glad you're able to understand what I am trying to say with being concerned?" Sharkey inquired.

"Don't worry I plan on trying to find the answer!" he said strongly his emotions spilling over for the moment.

"Thanks, Doctor for all of your help. Now if you will excuse me I will hang up to let you get your rest tonight." he preceded to say after hanging up. "Feel better Elizabeth that I was able to call the doctor?" he motions moving over to her with a sparkle in his eyes to kiss her on her lips pulling her out to head to the bedroom to see what happens this evening between the both of them.

EARLY THE NEXT MORNING Institute Medical Center

Captain Chip Morton had no choice in the matter as with ten others that Doctor Anthony Sterling had requested them to come in for a complete check. Morton was angry as hell as to why he had to come here in the first place when he walked into the doctor's office after he was going to go shopping with his wife Carol.

Doctor Sterling sitting in his office with the medical files on the desk as he will be able to compare the electrical changes of the brain once the GPS tracking device had disappeared from the back of everyone's necks.

"Would you mind telling me why the physicals once again Doctor?" Captain Morton alluded with his comment to be somewhat hostile.

Doctor Sterling says the following. "This exactly why Chip with your change of demeanor and sudden burst of anger all of the time. I have suspected as with others that something is not right for when it comes to your brain wave patterns ever since the GPS tracking devices were gone from everyone's necks." he paused briefly with a deep breath.

"Actually I have been feeling kinda sort of off Doctor Sterling and even Carol had mentioned it to me twice since last night," Morton tells him.

"There you go, Captain. I will need you to follow me into the examining room to begin the tests on you. This is going to take at least an hour, while my staff will be doing the same with the others requested." he says.
