Intruder Alert
Chapter 22th
Doctor Anthony Sterling placed the electrodes over Captain Chip Morton's head to check the levels of his ESP of the brain and other activity.
Morton had been sitting up in the chair of his office as he was hooked up with the doctor finishing up with the hookup. "Are you comfortable Chip?" he alluded to asking the question.
With the shake of his head briefly. "Not really Doctor, but nevertheless it needs to be done Doc to find the truth to what exactly is going on. By the way, did you get a chance to inform Admiral Nelson?" he posed the question as the doctor was now ready to turn on the device.
"I have informed him and he's going to be here in a little while with needing the results of all of the tests done on you and the those chosen." he exhales with a deep breath into his lungs.
"I can bet Doc that Admiral Nelson wasn't exactly happy that you were running the tests on us?" he was pensive for the moment with asking the sensitive nature of the question.
Shaking his head for the moment removing his glasses to clean them. "He was upset Captain, but it needed to be done nevertheless." he inquired with his statement.
"Let's do this now, I really need to know what is going on to have my demeanor to have changed?" Morton was scared at the moment as it might be the fact that the aliens will be the cause of his ill manner of late.
"Okay, let's get started Captain relaxing while I turn on the machine to see if anything has changed inside the brain." he recanted switching on the device to read the electrical impulses of his brain. "It's not going to hurt. All I need for you is to relax while the impulses are shown onto the screen," he said strongly with his tone of voice.
Moments later he's able to see the electrical impulses on the screen for the moment. He sees the light colors on the screen to see the slight change in his brain impulses. "Now this is interesting Chip, it seems that something has changed. But from what I can see if the fact that I can give you a hormonal shot to stop the impulses to stop the changes in your personality." he alluded with his words waiting for a moment to check it again only to get the same results.
"If this is the case Doctor. Whom do you think might have done this to me?" Morton asked with his curiosity at the highest.
Thinking about it for the moment. "If I had to hazard a guess Chip, I will have to say it has something to do with the new race Cajuns and Lauren's friends. However, we will have to ask her directly whether she or her lab technicians had anything to do with removing the GPS tracking traces and changing the impulses of your brain and no doubt the others." he points out his statement to be basically true.
"Now what?" Captain Morton will ask him the two-word question.
"I will remove the electrodes from your head while I will get my corpsman to set up the shot to have the impulses stopped with being two-fold with two shots. I will need to have you come back tomorrow with the second shot. Even though I will need to find out about the others to see if they will be needing the same shots as well." he said with sympathy.
He removed the electrodes to have Captain Chip Morton wait for the time being in the examining room while waiting for the shot to be ready.
Meanwhile, Admiral Harriman Nelson had arrived at the medical center of the Nelson Institute. Doctor Anthony Sterling turned to face the man to say the following. "Chip has been affected with a change in his brain impulses Admiral. I am setting up two-fold shots to be given to him today and tomorrow and hoping it will stop all of the negative impulses."
Nelson will place a hand over his chin for the moment to say the following. "Will it work Doctor Sterling? Since the entire Seaview crew was taken to that island and laboratory at some point? Admiral Nelson alluded to his own emotions getting in the way.
"We won't know anything Harriman until we have injected the shots into everyone. But Captain Morton will be the first to be given the shot tonight and then the second one tomorrow. While during this time we will have Chip write down any changes on a pad no matter how small it might be." Doctor Sterling stern will say to him.
It was at this time that the technician knocked on the doctor's door to tell him that the first dosage was now ready for the captain.
"Okay let me have it Louis so that I can give the captain the dosage of the entire syringe." Doctor Sterling takes the syringe from Louis with places on his blue gloves to take a long look at the dosage as Admiral Nelson watched the scene.
"Sir, the others are here as well and have been advised of the shots for today and tomorrow. None of the 11 personnel haven't said a thing about not taking the shot." Louis has been with the medical section of the Nelson Institute for the past year transferring off a Naval submarine vessel after spending five years as a medical technician onboard the U.S.S. Gordon.
"Have the shots been put together for the others as well Louis?" Doctor Sterling asked calmly as the syringe was ready to be given to Captain Chip Morton inside the examining room.
"They have sir." he paused for the moment before leaving.
"Alright Chip before I give you this shot into your right arm. I will need you to keep track of your activities or anything that might upset you during the night and in the morning before coming back here for the second shot. Understand my orders Captain Morton?" he looked at the syringe as he will say the following.
"Yeah, I do Doc!" Doctor Anthony sterling will roll up his black short sleeve cotton shirt as he will inject the liquid into his vein that will circulate throughout his bloodstream and most of all the brain. Now you can go home to your wife Carol. No doubt she is very worried about you?" he alluded with his question.
"After 30 years of marriage, she is always worried about me." Chip said moving away from the chair as he was a little off-balance as the shot will probably do that at first.
"You're going to be alright Chip since your metabolism is adjusting to the shot I have given to you. Just try to relax the best you can until tomorrow," he noted writing notes onto Morton's medical chart.
