Intruder Alert

Chapter 23th

Since the Bellius and the Seaview crews back home won't have to leave again on a mission until the mess with the Cajuns is cleared up along with the results of the shots.

Though Patterson and Third Class Sarah Goodman decided to have dinner outside of the Institute at a Seafood place. They had been chatting away since she wasn't used to going out with anyone for a long time.

She had been munching on the jumbo shrimps popping them into her mouth. She had been wearing a pink short sleeve cotton dress with even keel cleavage above the knee. She had placed on eye shadow (BLUE) with black mascara and red lipstick.

Even Patterson liked the colors she had chosen for the makeup. It's been a long time since he had enjoyed himself with a woman. He had ordered the lobster as he was squirting the butter on all of the lobster meat he was pulling.

He looked up to see Sarah's face wondering what was going on with her. "Is there a problem Sarah?" he croaks out with his reply.

"Only a few questions I need to be asking you about your life and the Seaview. That's if you don't mind me asking?" she smiles back at him finishing up more of the lobster in his mouth.

"No problem Sarah just simply ask within reason nevertheless," he noted taking a sip of his Budweiser beer sitting on the side of him.

"Have you ever married Patterson?" she will ask with slight blushing on her face.

"Never, I wasn't able to find the right woman. Even though I was always working away on missions with the Seaview for the longest time. However, I was engaged once to a woman named Elosie an engineer for six months. Even though as it had turned out she returned the ring telling me that she had lost interest altogether and transferred out of the Nelson Institute." he exhales.

"I am very sorry to hear that Pat." she paused for a moment to think of the next question. "I assume that you were in the Navy before coming over to the Seaview and the Institute?" she says calmly with a sip of her diet cola.

"I was in the Navy for five years as an engineer on the U.S.S. Grimson before deciding with Admiral Nelson to send me the paperwork to transfer out and where I was able to meet up with my best friend Kowalski." he alluded with his comment about his friend." Patterson coughed slightly as a piece of the lobster had gotten caught in his throat while sipping on his beer.

"Are you alright Patterson?" she asked with grave concern for him as a friend. She was hoping for more if possible.

"Yeah, I will be Sarah. By the way, I am wondering how the Seaview crew is doing after I heard that a number of the crew, had been asked to come to the medical center of the Institute with Doctor Sterling to perform some tests on them?" he paused...

"I heard the same thing, Patterson. Especially having 21 bodies having been shipped back to the Institute to have autopsies performed on them." she makes a face at her comment about the 21 autopsies.

"Believe me I know the feeling since the Seaview had dealt with a number of alien races over the years, along with a number of deaths. It was rough on Admiral Nelson, Captain Lee Crane, and Commander Morton to lose all of them." Patterson cried out.

"No doubt they are feeling that way again with the deaths Pat?" she said with sympathy with her demeanor.

"I know so Sarah. I have known Lee Crane for a long time. He has always taken it bad for whenever any crew member is injured or killed under him, Nelson or simply the Institute." Patterson alluded with his emotional response. "Do you need anything else for dinner Sarah?" he asked the question.

Thinking about it for the moment. "Matter of fact in this order Patterson. First, it's Apple Pie, and then the next is you with a kiss outside of this restaurant. That's if you're not scared to kiss me, Pat?" she had come to her point with the question.

"Of course not, I am able to kiss you outside without having to be paying for the entire bill with my credit card?" he preceded to say to the woman with her entire complex brightening up...

He waved over to the waitress to ask for the dessert list as the blonde waitress came over asking the following. "Do you need anything else with your dinner?" she hesitated briefly with waiting for the results of her question.

"Two large pieces of apple pie with whip cream if possible ma'am?" he gestured with his answer as Sarah was feeling flushed once again with her face and most of all her body.

"Sure, I will be right back with your desserts and the whipped cream on the side." she alludes with a hint of a smile.

MEANWHILE...

Chip Morton's residence

Carol had been the one to suggest that she drive the black and white station wagon parked in the driveway. Chip looked at his wife having to be somewhat angered at her with the idea to drive home from the Medical Center of the Institute.

"I told you, I am able to drive Carol after getting the shot. I have been feeling fine since Doctor Sterling had injected it into my bloodstream." he had the keys in his hands as they moved inside the garbage to have the door opened leading into the kitchen area of the house.

"Okay, already Chip. Are you hungry I can make us Turkey Club sandwiches? I also could use a hot shower before going to bed." she made the suggestion.

"I will help you, Carol with the sandwiches. However, I feel a little hyped up some since the shot. but nevertheless, I will use a hot shower with my beautiful wife." he gave out the compliment to her as she knew something was up with him when it comes to the shower and the sex issue no doubt.

Moving slowly from behind the counter. Carol had been concerned for her husband since this particular shot given was basically new for everyone taking it. But Doctor Anthony Sterling needed to know the truth on whether the Cajuns the new race are behind it.

Morton had pulled the essentials out of the fridge as he was trying to control his temple as Carol was trying to get on his nerves.

However he will stop her in midstride..." Will you stop being a mother hen Carol? I am going to be fine nevertheless with eating, showering, and bed. Sometimes you're worst than Lee Crane at times?" he motions with the comment to upset her as she walked away to do her work with the sandwiches and pulling out the drinks.

Moments later...

Moving into the dining area. All of a sudden Morton had one of those side effects from the shot. His anxiety had increased slightly that lasted a few moments as his wife Carol saw this. She will be the one to note it on the yellow pad that they had in the dresser drawer of the living room.

After a few moments, he was feeling better and ready to have the sandwiches, drinks, and then afterward the shower.
