Chapter 14-Epilogue

Quinn narrowed her eyes at the teenagers. "Noah, straighten your tie. David, fix your shirt. SJ, you couldn't find pants that weren't wrinkled?" Quinn let out a huff as Lucy helped the boys, while Kyle and Ty laughed. "Livi, you look absolutely stunning. Jesse, you look pretty. Billie, you look beautiful as ever."

Noah rolled his eyes, "Of course they do! I hope you have nothing but boys. Nothing's ever wrong with the girls. By the way Jesse, your bow is crooked." The boys laughed as Jesse ran off upset.

Quinn popped Noah, but before she could speak, Billie did. "Noah, that wasn't nice. Go apologize to her! You're supposed to be her hero and protector! Like daddy and Aunt Liv." The boys stopped laughing and Noah walked to the bathroom to help Jesse. Kyle and Ty stood up and joined them. They knew Billie was right.

Kyle gave Noah and Jesse a minute. "Come on, we can't be late." On the way to the car, Noah hugged Quinn. "Sorry Quinn." She kissed him and they climbed in to head to the ceremony.

It had been a little over 13 years and life was different. Kyle and Lucy were still married. He was now an assistant coach with the Yankees after a successful baseball career. Lucy was an elementary school teacher. They had 2 boys and 1 girl. Matthew Oliver was the oldest and he was 10. Mason Kevin was the baby and he was 6. They had a girl in between them named Taylor Amanda Grace and she was 8.

Quinn hadn't changed much. She was always Olivia and Amanda's fire child. She ran things and was Olivia's twin. Olivia was her mom when she was younger, but as she matured even though Olivia was still "mom", they had a sister relationship too. It was a rule. When Quinn was 16 and in love with a high school senior on the boys basketball team named Dominick Carisi, she called "sister" and Olivia had to listen to her in a different way.

Olivia didn't react poorly when Quinn told her she was ready to have sex. Olivia and Amanda always supported her, Kyle, and the rest of the kids as the best parents, because they never had that. Olivia's only request after meeting with Dominick and his family was that he marry her one day. That day was coming in a few months, after Dominick's law school graduation.

Quinn played basketball her whole life. She had a shot at the WNBA, but she decided to become a sports agent under Prince Miller's agency. They were still close. Prince Miller was a different man after meeting Olivia and Quinn.

Ty jumped out of the car, "Dom, what's up man. Our graduation is so close." Ty and Dominick were best friends and soon to be lawyers, which is how Quinn and him met. He was a part of the family and piece of their growing puzzle.

Dominick smiled, "Yeah, I can't wait." He pointed to the 3 kids eating ice cream on the bench. "Sorry Kyle and Lucy, they couldn't wait either." Lucy grabbed wipes from her purse to clean up the sticky mess. "Dominick laughed, "Hey, I made them get cups not cones." Kyle and Lucy knew that's why they loved uncle Dom. Quinn kissed him and whispered that he was in trouble.

They all walked in and took their reserved seats at the table. Quinn smiled at the huge banner that read "Happy Retirement, Captain Benson!" She looked at her phone to read over the notes she worked on typing over the last week. She made sure everyone was settled and watched the people come in and take their seats.

She walked up to the podium. She hugged Fin and Nick. They were still at SVU and she loved them too. Fin was just promoted to Captain and he was getting ready to finish his time and cover the unit. Nick was a Lieutenant now and could have moved on, but SVU was his home.

Amanda tapped her shoulder, "The kids look perfect, I know you're to thank." She hugged her tight. Amanda had her own struggles and really had a hard time a couple of years after the twins came. Quinn was still young and she didn't understand why, but all she really remembered was her mama being sad and Olivia helped her recover.

Amanda left SVU after the squad had a case that crossed with APD. To make it worse Reynolds and Patton made a trip to New York for a convention. They raped a young police officer in their unit. Amanda and Olivia had to run point on the case. It was too much on her and her secret came out. Both men went to jail after that. It eventually helped her get her own closure.

Amanda moved on and worked with forensics for a private company. Stepping away helped her heal and made her happier. "Mama, I don't want to mess this up. What if my speech isn't good? Why didn't you do this instead of me? I don't know what SVU is about. This is her special day, her retirement. She gave her life to this."

Amanda kissed her cheek. They all knew Olivia was a police officer who helped victims, but they worked hard to keep the bad stuff about her job away. "She's your mom most of the time and sometimes your sister. She loves me, but Quinn, she loves you the most. You're the perfect person for this speech. She gave her life to everyone. I love you baby and you can do this."

Quinn looked at the empty chair that was there for Olivia to sit in while she received her accolades. When Amanda stepped down all the teenagers hugged her and she heard the little ones call "Grandmama" to get her attention. She was too young for grandkids, so was Olivia but they took the title with grace. Amanda hugged them all, but gave Billie a little more attention as she sat down in her white floral dress. Billie was Simon and Tracy's last baby and a huge surprise. Tracy thought she was done after having Simon Jr.

It had only been a year since Simon and Tracy died. All of the kids were Olivia's and Amanda's now. Tracy and Billie went with him on a work trip, for a little get away. They did that sometimes and in turn gave Olivia and Amanda the same privilege. Tracy took Billie because it was Florida and of course Disneyland was there. Ty was too old, Livi was more interested in her phone and boys, SJ followed David and Noah, but Billie was still their baby. They were in a car accident in Florida.

Quinn remembered the call and held Olivia while she cried and Amanda packed both of their bags as quickly as possible. They took a flight to Florida on the plane to get Billie and identify their bodies. Quinn thought that was one reason Olivia was letting the job go. She figured she would run SVU forever. Olivia waved at the family and smiled. She winked at Quinn who was at the podium.

Quinn introduced all of the people that showered Olivia with gifts, speeches, and certificates. Then it was her turn. She looked at her family and then Olivia and smiled. "Most of the time when a young girl is asked what she wants to be when she grows up, the answers are usually a ballerina, a princess, an actress or a singer. But as far back as I can remember, I have always said that when I grow up I was going to be just like my mom, even though most of my family would say a baller."

Everyone laughed because they knew Quinn. Everyone knew Quinn because of Olivia. "I wanted to do everything she did. Live in New York City and become a police officer. I wanted to get married, have kids, and raise a family all at the same time, because she did it. So I guess, you could say, that growing up I wanted to be a superhero, but more specifically, superwoman. My mom has many powers, to say the least."

Olivia smiled proudly. "My mom is smart, even smarter than me, which is pretty hard." More laughter erupted. Quinn looked to see if Olivia was enjoying it.

Her smile told her to keep going. "She is the smartest and most knowledgeable person I know. Everyday she used her brain skills to be the best detective and help others. She gave her life to this job. She hasn't just been our superwoman, she's been so much to others." She always seems to know what is going on. Believe me, my brothers and sisters don't get away with anything with a mom detective."

More laughter exploded, mostly from the table of her siblings. "My mom is strong. My mom is the strongest and bravest person I know. I'm really her sister. Some of you know but a lot of you don't, but that's because she doesn't treat me any differently. She adopted me and Kyle in the middle of her career and she did it with grace, never missing a beat. She became a Sergeant, then a Lieutenant, and finally a Captain while taking care of that entire table. That's a lot to take care of."

Quinn smiled and winked at Amanda then turned to Olivia. "Now mom, I know it's your day but, you can't have all of the credit." Quinn heard some laughter and Olivia put her hand out and agreed. "She had my mama and she was pretty tough too plus the forensics background was killer, right Kyle?"

Kyle nodded and Noah laughed, "I know right!" David,Jesse, Livi, and SJ just giggled because they were just finding out since they becoming teenagers.

Quinn looked at Ty, Livi, SJ, and Billie. "She also had my uncle Simon and my aunt Tracy. We miss them so much. The four of them formed a team. They were all our parents and we are all brothers and sisters. That's how we were raised, with love for family. I know mom misses them the most though." She looked at Olivia wiping away tears. "Mom, don't be sad. They are with David and they left you the most precious gifts to raise."

Billie cuddled up to Amanda and covered her face smiling. "My mom is a risk taker. She has watched people go through traumatic events in their lives, all while facing her own. She took a risk on all of us. We promise to make you and mama proud everyday. Thanks for taking that risk."

Quinn looked at her phone with the speech and decided to go on her own. My siblings and I have learned a lot from our mom in both our professional and personal lives. She has inspired us to be career driven, to always go after what we want no matter how unattainable and that no obstacle is too great to overcome. She has taught us to dress the part, because eventually, if we are going to be successful, we have to look good doing it."

Noah straightened his tie and brushed his jacket down. "Most importantly, she has taught us that life doesn't always go as planned. We must take chances and risks, embrace new opportunities with enthusiasm, even if we have doubts, and if we believe in ourselves, we can make any dreams of ours become a reality."

Quinn called the entire family up and they held a huge painted picture of everyone. They hadn't taken a family photo since Tracy and Simon died. "Happy Retirement mom! We love you. Thank you for being the centerpiece of our puzzle."

Olivia was shocked. The picture had everyone. David was standing in between a very tall Noah and almost as tall David who was his twin. He had his arms around Jesse who was standing in front of him. Olivia was standing next to Noah on the other side, while Amanda was next to David, Jesse, and little David. Kyle and Lucy were sitting in front of them with their kids in their lap. Simon was next to Amanda with Tracy holding his hand. A taller Ty was next to Tracy while holding Billie up just enough to peek between SJ and Livi's shoulders. "Oh my God! Quinn! When? How?"

Quinn explained she had her friend from college take a photo from the park that the kids took and paint everyone in place. "Mom, now you have all of your pieces. No puzzle should have missing pieces."

Olivia embraced her crying happy tears. She hugged everyone and they celebrated the entire night with dinner and dancing. She saw Quinn finish dancing with Dominick, "I can't wait for the wedding, but I'm sad you're leaving me. I'm going to miss you."

Quinn shrugged, "Actually mom, I talked to Dominick. Can we have the bottom floor for a while?"

Olivia smiled and nodded with excitement. "Quinn, when I met you, my life changed that day. Quinn, I met Simon before you and it was hard. It wasn't a sibling relationship. I never wanted another sibling again after that, because it crushed me."

Quinn looked sad, she had never heard her say that. She always thought her and Simon were perfect. She questioned it immediately. "No baby, we weren't. We had to grow into it, but Quinn, you…" Olivia pulled her into a tight hug. "You were my missing piece."
