Hi guys, 65rogeryork here with a brand new story! I know a lot of you were probably not expecting this but I hope that you will give this story a chance.
This story may feel familiar to you if you've ever watched the Total Drama series. Except this time around, the contestants are from the Super Mario series! I call it Koopa Island Survival!
Trust me, the name will make more sense once we get into the actual episode.
Also, I feel that I should offer this disclaimer. I do know that a series called Toadal Drama Island exists with pretty much this same concept, but I have always wanted to do a story like this and put my own creative spin on it.
So with that, I'm gonna get out of here and leave you guys with the episode. I hope you all enjoy it! Reviews and constructive criticism welcome!

Episode 1: Island Overrun Part 1
The scene opens to an island with a distinct turtle shell rock formation located right in the middle of it.
On the boat docks of the island, a Koopa Troopa with a blue shell and shoes was sporting dark shades that were perched atop his head. He appeared to be talking on the phone.
"(on a phone call) What do you mean you lost it?...Ugh! This messes up my schedule man! I've got a show to run here!" said the Koopa.
"Hey boss, uh, we're rolling." said a Hammer Bro, behind a camera.
"*notices the cameras are on* Uh...let me call you back." said the Koopa, as he hung up the phone.
"You mind warning me next time Boris?" said the Koopa, a bit peeved.
"Sorry boss." said Boris, who was revealed to be the hammer bro. He was wearing a green beanie instead of the usual helmet.
"*clears throat* Hello there! My name is Isaac and this...*camera pans to a wide shot* ...is Koopa Island!" said Isaac, who was clearly the host of the show.
"Here's the deal. Twenty-two contestants have signed up to spend eleven weeks here at this deserted island. They'll be split into two teams where they will compete in challenges against each other every two days, hoping to win a reward that week. *transition to the bonfire pit* The team that loses will be sent here, to the elimination ceremony, where all but one contestant will receive a 1-UP." said Isaac.
*1-UP sound effect is heard*
"Haha. The contestant that doesn't receive a 1-UP will be eliminated and sent packing. In the end, only one contestant will be left standing and will be the winner of 100,000 coins! Who's gonna win this thing? I don't know! But I know you want to find out! So join me for drama, mayhem, and so much more here on Koopa...Island...SURVIVAL!" said Isaac.
*theme song plays*
NB: Now I know I've recently started using theme songs for my stories and seeing as how the show this story is based off of has one, I feel that this story should have one as well. However, I have no idea what that theme song should be and I don't want to reuse the one from Total Drama so, if any of you have any suggestions for a possible theme song or if you want to create your own, feel free to let me know in a review. Alright, back to the episode!
"I'm sorry Isaac! Really man!" exclaimed a Parakoopa, with a green shell, wearing a green baseball cap backwards on his head.
"This is just great Ryan. Here I am on the debut of my very first TV show and you managed to lose sight of an entire ship filled with my contestants?!" said Isaac, who was clearly upset.
"Calm down man. They can't be too far. I'll just fly back out there and maybe I'll-"
Ryan's statement was suddenly cut off by the sound of a loud foghorn.
The camera crew suddenly turned their cameras back on as their attention turned towards the sea. A giant cargo ship was seen approaching the docks of the island.
"Haha! Yes! This show is still on the road! (to Ryan) You were this close to getting fired." said Isaac, in a sudden serious tone.
Ryan could only respond with a gulp.
A few minutes later, the ship had docked and Isaac prepared himself to introduce his contestants.
"(to the TV audience) Hey there folks! My apologies for the slight delay, but our contestants are finally here! Let's meet 'em!" said Isaac.
At this point, each of the contestants started walking off of the ship using its ramp, onto the docks.
"Ooh child! That boat ride felt like heaven!" said a pink Goomba, sporting a unique helmet with a blonde ponytail.
"Goombella! You seem relaxed." said Isaac.
"I am honey, I am. That ship sailed so smooth!" said Goombella.
"Oh yes! *kneels down and starts kissing the dock* Finally off of that ship!" said a Charging Chuck, who curiously did not have on a helmet.
"Uh...Dave right? Are you okay man?" asked Isaac.
"Huh? Oh yeah. *gets up* I'm fine. I just don't like the sea. It freaks me out!" said the Charging Chuck, who was now revealed to be Dave.
"Well why did you sign up for this show if you don't like water hon? You do realize we're on an island right?" said Goombella.
"I know that! *sighs* I signed up for this show to prove my brothers wrong. They all think I'm a weakling. They think I'm useless. But this is my chance to show them that I'm more than that!" exclaimed Dave.
"Nice speech." said a female Boo, who suddenly appeared next to him.
*Dave suddenly screams and jumps into the air*
"Hey Boo. Glad you could make it!" said Isaac.
"Yeah I'm starting to have regrets about coming. This sun is so bright!" said Boo, who was trying to hide her eyes from the sun.
"Hey party people! Lyle's here to take this party to Cloud 9!" said a Lakitu, wearing dark shades with a goatee. His cloud was wearing dark shades as well.
"Lyle! How goes it my man?" asked Isaac.
"I'm flying high baby! I'm ready to win this thing!" said Lyle hyped.
"I'm glad to hear it!" said Isaac.
"Oh wow! This island is beautiful!" said Pauline stunned.
"Mayor Pauline, a pleasure to meet you ma'am." said Isaac, being polite.
"Oh please, you don't have to be so formal with me. I know you're not usually this polite." said Pauline, seeing right through him.
"Oh good! 'Cause I couldn't hold that act for too long!" said Isaac relieved.
"*sniffs the air* Hey, does anyone else smell onions?" asked Goombella.
"Ugh! That is a putrid smell!" said Pauline, holding her nose closed.
All of a sudden, the source of the smell emerged from the ship. It was none other than the mischievous Wario.
"*laughs hysterically* Where's the moolah at?" asked Wario, spreading his onion breath through the air with every word.
"Um, do you mind not violating my nostrils with your stench?" asked Pauline, still holding her nose closed.
"Hah! Sorry, I just downed two BOTs." said Wario.
"BOTs?" asked Boo confused.
"Bacon, onion and tomato. With extra onions." said Wario.
"Eww. That's gross." said Goombella.
"Eh, to each his own." said Wario.
"Wario! There you are!" said Mona, running down the boat ramp with Waluigi tagging behind her.
"Hey, why'd you run off like that?" asked Waluigi panting.
"Why else? I came for the money. (to Isaac) Where is it?" asked Wario.
"This isn't a charity buddy. If you want the money, you have to win the competition." said Isaac.
"Oh I see. Hardball huh? Well, I already came this far and I never back down from a challenge! It's on!" said Wario, as he charged down the dock.
"*sighs as she facepalms* (to Isaac) I'm sorry about him." said Mona, as she followed behind him.
Waluigi was following suit when he suddenly walked past Pauline. He was about to say something to her when suddenly...
"*holds her pointer finger out to him to silence him* Don't even say a word. Keep it moving behind Onion Breath." said Pauline.
"Dang. Wario's out here messing up my game!" thought Waluigi, as he sulked away.
"Alright, who's next?" asked Isaac.
"YOSHI!"
Just then, Yoshi came running down the boat ramp and onto the docks.
"Hey there Yoshi. What's up?" said Isaac.
"Not much." said Yoshi nonchalantly.
Isaac was stunned to hear Yoshi actually answer him.
"Wait. You can talk?" asked Isaac.
"Yeah I can. I usually don't because I rarely have anything really important to say. I'm content with just being the assist on Mario's travels." said Yoshi.
"Huh. Well I guess I can't fault you for that." said Isaac.
*Dry Bones breaking apart sound effect is heard*
"Oh come on!"
Isaac and Yoshi suddenly turned around to see a Dry Bones disassembled on the dock, followed by a spike ball.
"Derek! What happened man?" asked Isaac.
"Some punk kid with a spike ball did this." said Derek, his bones still scattered on the dock.
"Behold! It is I, the magnificent Spikerton the Third. Grandson of the great Sir Spikerton of old! I have come here to this battle of conquest to lay claim to the fortune that resides here." said "Spike", as he picked up his spike ball and swallowed it whole. He had a royal blue cape draped over his shoulders.
"Wow...that is disturbing." said Isaac, a bit freaked out.
"I didn't think anybody could rival me." said Yoshi, who was disturbed as well.
"*reassembles himself* Hey, what's the big idea man? You bowled me over!" said Derek peeved.
"Hm? Is there an issue? You are dead are you not? I simply used you as a target to practice my spiking skills. I must be at peak physical condition to perform at my best for this conquest." said "Spike".
"What are you? Straight outta the 1700s?" said Boo, with a quip.
"*chuckles* Hey good one." said Derek.
"*slightly blushes* Thanks." said Boo.
"Ahem! Excuse me? Who are you to insult the magnificent Spikerton the Third! That is not how you address a royal!" said "Spike".
"Yeah, you're right. That's how I address idiots. And you sir are a major idiot." said Boo.
"Hmph! The gall! The disrespect! I must leave!" said "Spike", as he quickly walked past them, moving to the end of the dock.
"Heh, that kid's not gonna last here long." said Derek.
"I give him half a day." said Boo.
Boo and Derek then shared a laugh at that statement.
"I'm Derek by the way." said Derek, introducing himself.
"Boo. Nice to meet you." said Boo.
This moment was suddenly interrupted by another loud contestant.
"Hey everyone! My name is Birdo and I came to play...and win!" said Birdo, as she snapped her fingers in a sassy manner.
"Oh no..." said Yoshi, suddenly filling with dread.
"Yoshi? Is that you? *runs up next to him* Oh my gosh! I haven't seen you in like 5 years! We were supposed to go out on a date remember?" said Birdo.
"Ooh! Yeah...see about that-"
"Oh it doesn't matter. We can just make up for lost time now!" said Birdo.
"Say what?" said Yoshi, in a surprised tone.
Before he could object, Birdo immediately kissed him on the lips.
"Mmm~It looks like that spark is still there." said Birdo, towards Yoshi who was now frozen in shock.
"Huh. I guess that's what it looks like to be lovestruck." said Isaac.
"Tina look! We're here!"
Isaac suddenly turned his attention down to just below his waistline and noticed a female Spike Top and Buzzy Beetle.
"Wow. This place looks awesome!" said the Spike Top excitedly.
"I know right?" said the Buzzy Beetle, who was also excited.
"Hey there ladies! What's up?" asked Isaac.
"Everything lol. We're beetles. We're always low to the ground." said the Spike Top, with a quip.
"Wow. Someone's got a sense of humor." said Isaac surprised.
"Yeah Tina has a bit of a snarky side. That's what I love about her." said the Buzzy Beetle.
"Aww! Thanks Mina! I love that you're always open to express your feelings. That's why you're my best friend." said Tina, the Spike Top.
"Really? Same here bestie!" said Mina, the Buzzy Beetle.
"Ooh! Beetle hug!" said both of the beetles in unison, as they touched shells for a moment.
"Aww! Those two are adorable!" said Goombella.
"Adorable? One of them has a spike on her shell! This whole place is filled with dangers! This was a big mistake!" said Dave, starting to freak out.
"Hey, chill out man. It's all good. You're gonna be just fine here. We're here to have a good time right?" asked Lyle.
"Y-Yeah. I guess..." said Dave.
"Well alright then! Don't let the competition get you down. At the end of the day, life is what you make it out to be. I choose to make it a party, but how you live is up to you man." said Lyle.
"How I live is up to me..." said Dave, as he repeated Lyle's words quietly to himself.
Meanwhile, Isaac had finished his interaction with the beetle besties and was now introducing the next contestant.
"Hey Tom. Welcome to the island." said Isaac.
Tom is a purple Shy Guy. He didn't offer a response to Isaac however. He just stared at him without even a hint of emotion.
"*Tom walks past him without a word* Alright...that was Tom everyone!" said Isaac, a bit weirded out.
"Yahoo!"
"Oh! I think I know who that is!" said Isaac.
Coming down the boat ramp was Mario who was escorting Peach to the docks. Toad was right behind them as well.
"It's a-me Mario!" said Mario.
"Yeah I know Mario. (to Peach) Your Highness." said Isaac, with a bow.
"Oh please, that isn't necessary. I may be a princess but I'm on vacation while I'm here on this island." said Peach.
"And I'm here to protect her!" said Toad, in a confident tone.
"(to Toad) Uh-huh. (to Mario) Yeah, it's a good thing you came Mario." said Isaac, brushing Toad's statement off as nothing more than wishful thinking.
"Thanks! I'm glad to be here!" said Mario.
"By the way, where's your brother?" asked Isaac.
Before Mario could respond, some voices could be heard coming from just inside the ship.
"*grunts* Come on Luigi! It's just one ghost!" said Daisy, literally dragging him down the boat ramp by his legs.
"Noooo! I can't do it! I'm too scared! Waah!"
Luigi was suddenly thrown onto the docks with brute force, courtesy of Daisy.
"*picks him up by the overalls* Listen to me. You can do this. You're braver and stronger than this Luigi! You're gonna be fine." said Daisy.
"Come on bro. We're all in this together." said Mario, placing a hand on his brother's shoulder.
"*sighs* Well okay..." said Luigi, as he seemed to have calmed down.
He then turned his head and caught a glimpse of Boo out of the corner of his eye.
"Ahh! There she is! The ghost!" exclaimed Luigi, as he suddenly hid behind Daisy, cowering in fear.
"Oh boy..." said Daisy, shaking her head.
"Oh come on. I'm not that scary." said Boo.
"Don't mind my brother. He just has a bad history with ghosts." said Mario.
"Mario?"
Mario suddenly turned his head and saw Pauline staring at him from the other end of the dock.
"Pauline...Uh, I mean, Mayor Pauline! I uh, didn't expect to see you here." said Mario, in surprise.
"*walks up to him* I could say the same to you." said Pauline.
She then noticed Peach standing off to the side along with Toad, just a bit behind Mario.
"Your Highness." said Pauline.
"Please, that isn't necessary Pauline. Call me Peach. Thank you so much for helping Mario to rescue me from that whole wedding fiasco." said Peach.
"Oh not a problem. I wouldn't dream of not helping Mario." said Pauline, as she slightly adjusted his cap on his head.
"*nervously laughs* Well, I appreciate the help." said Mario, with a slight blush.
"*hops onto the dock dramatically* Finally off that damn boat." said an angry looking female Galoomba, wearing a green headband bordered with white stripes.
"Ah, Evelyn. I was hoping you had decided not to show up." said Isaac.
"Psh! Why would I give up the chance to win 100,000 coins? Come on, I may be strong but there's more than one muscle in my body!" said Evelyn.
"Well, I guess we'll see." said Isaac, as Evelyn walked past him.
"Alright! I think that's about everyone no?" said Isaac, checking his list.
"I don't see anyone else coming off the ship." said Ryan.
"Alright then! Let's-"
Isaac was suddenly cut off as a glowing light suddenly appeared next to him. Then, all of a sudden...
*Rosalina appears in an aura of light having just teleported in*
"Greetings everyone. My name is Rosalina, the mother of the stars. I am so sorry for my late arrival but I would also like to participate in this contest." said Rosalina, with her trusty Luma bobbing along beside her.
"Rosalina! There you are! I knew we were missing someone!" said Isaac.
"Where have you been Rosie?" asked Daisy curious.
"I had to ensure that my observatory was left in capable hands before departing. That is why I did not join you all on the ship." said Rosalina.
"Well, what matters now is that you're here. So, now that all twenty two of you are here, I need you to group together right here at the end of the dock. I need to take a promotional picture for the commercials." said Isaac.
All of the contestants then grouped themselves together as instructed.
"*sniffs the air and then holds her nose again* Ugh! Of course I'd be stuck next to you." said Pauline, disgusted by the foul smelling Wario.
"Yo Ryan, catch!" said Isaac, as he tossed Ryan a digital camera.
"Got it!" said Ryan.
"Alright, hit it!" said Isaac, as he got into a pose in front of the contestants.
"Alright, everybody say 'Koopa Island'!" said Ryan, getting ready to take the picture.
"KOOPA ISLAND!" exclaimed all of the contestants, including Isaac.
As soon as the picture was taken, a huge fart cloud suddenly surrounded the whole group.
"Eww! Gross!" exclaimed Peach, in distress.
"This way Princess! *coughs* To safety!" said Toad, as he quickly escorted Peach out of the fart cloud.
"My eyes! They're burning!" exclaimed Dave, hurriedly rushing out as well.
The rest of the contestants followed suit, including Isaac, all heading towards the island. The only ones who were left standing on the dock were Mona and Wario.
"*holding her nose* Really Wario? Why do you always have to embarrass me?" asked Mona.
"Sorry babe. I got gassy." said Wario, as another small toot slipped out.
"Ugh! Unbelievable." said Mona, as she stormed off towards the island in anger, still holding her nose.
"...Maybe I should lay off the BOTs." said Wario.
A couple of minutes later, the show was back on schedule and Isaac had gathered the contestants at the bonfire pit to brief them on the rules of the game.
"This… is Koopa Island! Your home for the next eleven weeks. You guys will be staying in cabins while you're here on this island. One by one, you all will be eliminated from the competition. Except for one of you. That lucky contestant, who manages to stay on Koopa Island Survival the longest, without getting voted off, will win 100,000 coins!" said Isaac.
"So, excuse me? How is this cabin thing going to work? Do we get to pick our cabin?" asked Mina curiously.
"What are the sleeping arrangements? Surely, I must have my own quarters." said "Spike".
"Well, unfortunately "Spike", everyone is going to have to share cabins, cause there's only two of them. One side for guys, the other side for girls. Also, each cabin will represent each team. That's right! I'm splitting you guys up!" said Isaac, pulling out his list again.
"WHAT?!" exclaimed Tina and Mina in unison.
"Don't we get to pick our own team?" asked Daisy.
"Nope! That takes away the fun from me! Now, when I call your name, come stand over here to my left." said Isaac, as he began reading off the names.
Boo...
Derek...
Pauline...
Wario...
"You can't be serious..." muttered Pauline upset.
"Quiet please. Still reading." said Isaac, as he resumed calling out the names.
Peach...
Toad...
Goombella...
Mario...
Tina...
Spike...
and...Birdo...
"From this moment forward, you guys will be officially known as The Super Mushrooms!" exclaimed Isaac, as he threw the team a green banner with a super mushroom emblem on it.
"Hey, that has a nice ring to it!" said Mario, holding up the banner.
"Of course you would think so, mushroom moron." said Wario.
"Hey! Don't talk to Mario like that!" said Peach, crossing her arms.
"Yeah, at least he has the decency to floss." said Goombella, feeling disgusted at all the crap that was stuck between Wario's teeth.
"Hmm...*trying to get a fragment of food from between his teeth* Must be some onion..." said Wario.
"Wait! What about Mina?!" asked Tina worriedly.
"That brings me to the other team!" said Isaac, as he began calling out the rest of the names.

Rosalina...
Waluigi...
Mona...
Yoshi...
Mina...
Luigi...
Daisy...
Dave...
Evelyn...
and...Tom...
"From this moment forward, you guys will be officially known as The Fire Flowers!" exclaimed Isaac, as he threw the team a red banner with a fire flower emblem on it.
"Wow! We're on fire guys!" said Daisy, holding up the banner.
"Fire?! Where?! Ahh! Somebody put it out!" exclaimed Dave, all of a sudden.
"Be still young Chuck. There is no need to be alarmed. The fire that Daisy speaks of is hypothetical." said Rosalina, with her Luma nodding his head.
"Yeah, it's just a figure of speech." said Mona.
"Oh. *calms down a bit* Right. Uh, I knew that." said Dave embarrassed.
"No you didn't." said Evelyn.
"Alright! Now that your teams have been assembled, it's time to show you the rest of the island!" said Isaac.
"Wait! That can't be it for the teams! I need Tina with me! I won't do anything without my bestie!" said Mina.
"Aww Mina!" exclaimed Tina, who was touched.
"Why does this feel like a damn soap opera?" said Waluigi, to himself.
"Sorry girls, but all teams are final. Now, it's already the middle of the day and we still have a lot more stuff to do. So let's get moving teams!" said Isaac, as he started leading the group away from the bonfire pit.
"No, Tina!" exclaimed Mina, as she cried.
"No, Mina!" exclaimed Tina, as she cried as well.
The two girls had no choice but to reluctantly follow behind their respective teams. The ground beneath them was stained with their tears as they walked.
"Welcome to your cabins! This is where you'll be staying for however long you guys are here. Super Mushrooms, your cabin is on the left. Fire Flowers, your cabin is on the right." said Isaac.
*static screen*
"You guys can also use the various outhouses on this island to make personal confessions to the folks watching back home. This is a place you can come to get something off your chest. Just be careful though. It's not like these outhouses are soundproof or anything..." said Isaac, now sitting in one of these outhouses.
NB: From now on, anytime you see something written in italics directly after the cue of *static screen*...That means that whatever that person said is a confessional.
*static screen*
"Okay, so I'm not gonna lie, so far this island kinda sucks. There hasn't been one shady place the entire time since I've been here! I'd much rather be in a ghost house right now but I guess since I'm here, I might as well make the most of it. At least its not all bad. I did meet one cool person today." said Boo, as she started to stare off into space, looking dreamily.
*static screen*
"Alright! It's time for me to hit the jackpot baby! Wario's always hogging all the gold he "finds". The guy's an addict! That's why I'm glad I'm not on his team. He'd only slow me down. It's finally time for Waluigi to shine! I'm gonna be the one to win this competition! Just you wait." said Waluigi, with a determined look on his face.
*static screen*
"You know, so far this island seems pretty nice. I hope I'll be able to keep up with the competition. Mario and I had originally planned to go to Isle Delfino for vacation but then we decided that we didn't want to chance something happening to me there again, considering what happened last time. Anyway, I'm glad that Mario's with me and all of my friends if I'm being honest. I was surprised to see Pauline here as well. That is very unexpected. Maybe this is a sign from the Star Spirits telling me that this our chance to form a bond and become closer to one another! Oh yes! That must be it!" said Peach enthusiastically.
*static screen*
"Yahoo! Oh, I am so ready for this! I can't wait to see what this competition has in store. Whatever it is, it sure will be a nice change of pace from having to save Peach all the time. Ah, Peach...She's the love of my life if I'm being honest with myself. I'd do anything for her...But, it wasn't that long ago that I pretty much had those exact feelings for Pauline. Mama mia...What am I gonna do? I'm stuck on an island with my two greatest loves! *sighs* This is gonna be rough." said Mario.
*static screen*
"*excessively panting* Calm down Dave. Calm down. *lets out a long sigh* I'm not sure coming here was a great idea anymore. I'm under a lot of pressure! I want to prove to my brothers that I can do something like this and that I'm not a loser! *sighs* But I don't know what to do..." said Dave, looking glum.
*static screen*
*Tom just stares motionless into the camera*
*static screen*
"Well well well. This island just gets more and more interesting the longer I am here. Of course I could do without Sulphur Breath being on my team but whatever. That is merely one dim spot among such bright lights. I am glad I got put on the same team as Mario. I have no doubts that that decision was made to influence the ratings. I know how television works. And because of that, I also know how to deliver a good show. Trust me, you'll want to stay tuned. This island isn't ready for the magnificent Pauline." said Pauline, with a devious smile.
*static screen*
*end of confessionals*
"Alright! I'm gonna leave you guys to unpack and get settled in. *points behind the group* Bathrooms are down there if you guys need it. Once you guys are done, *points behind him* head down to the mess hall for some lunch and then get ready for your first challenge!" said Isaac, leaving the group behind after his statement.
"Well, I guess we should start unpacking." said Peach.
"I'll help you with your bags Peach." said Mario, about to reach for her suitcases.
"*cuts in* Oh, there's no need Mario! Your humble servant Toad shall assist the Princess!" said Toad suddenly, as he grabbed hold of Peach's suitcases and started dragging them across the ground toward the cabin.
"Toad, are you sure you don't need any help?" asked Peach concerned.
"I am fine Princess! *pants* No need to worry!" said Toad, who was clearly struggling to carry the suitcases.
"Why don't you help me with my bags Mario?" asked Pauline.
"Huh? Oh, uh, sure Pauline! No problem!" said Mario, with a hint of nervousness in his voice.
"Does anyone want to help me carry my bags?" asked Birdo.
There was no response as everyone on her team had already went inside the cabin.
"*sighs* I wish Yoshi was on my team..." said Birdo, as he picked up her suitcase, and rolled it over to the cabin.
Meanwhile, inside the Super Mushrooms cabin, on the girls' side...
"*rests her bags down next to a bunk bed* There you go Pauline!" said Mario.
"Oh thank you so much Mario!~" said Pauline, as she lightly twirled the end of his mustache.
"*slightly blushes* Right! I better go unpack, myself!" said Mario, as he quickly ran out of there.
"*collapses on the ground right next to Pauline's bags* Here you are Princess! *pants out of breath* Your bags!" said Toad exhausted.
"*chuckles* Thank you Toad. That was a valiant effort." said Peach.
"I appreciate that very much Your Highness!" said Toad, as he quickly left the room as well.
"Well, Peach, it seems that we're next to the same bed. Maybe we should be bunk mates." said Pauline.
"That's a great idea Pauline! This gives us a chance to get closer to each other!" said Peach ecstatic.
"Yes...it certainly does." said Pauline, in a mischievous tone.
"*floats over to her* Hey, Tina right? Are you okay?" asked Boo concerned.
"*sniffles* I miss Mina...I miss my best friend. I didn't realize that they'd force us apart on this show!" said Tina distraught.
"Hey, listen, I know this sucks but you can pull through this! Just because you're on different teams doesn't mean you won't see your friend again. I think she'd want you to be strong for her sake and yours." said Boo.
"*sniffles some more* You think so?" asked Tina.
"Yeah. Hey, you wanna be bunk mates? I need someone to talk to while I'm in here, otherwise I'll go insane." said Boo.
"*sniffles* Yeah. Yeah, I'll be bunk mates with you." said Tina.
"Great!" said Boo.
"Phew! Finally made it girls!" said Birdo, now standing in the doorway.
"Took you long enough hon. What are you lugging around in that thing anyways?" asked Goombella curious.
"My entire makeup collection." said Birdo.
Everyone in the room suddenly looked at her in silence.
"What? It takes more than just natural good looks to get a face that looks this good." said Birdo, striking a pose.
Meanwhile, on the boys' side...
"Listen to me you fat oaf! I am Spike royalty! And I will not be disrespected by one such as you! This single bed is mine! It is not up for debate!" said "Spike", as he crossed his arms.
"Oh yeah? *turns around and points his butt in his direction* You wanna reconsider that?" asked Wario.
"Oh great heavens! You scoundrel! I am leaving these premises at once!" said "Spike", as he quickly rushed out of the cabin, past Mario and Toad.
"*smirks* I guess "His Princeliness" isn't much for conflict." said Derek.
"Hey, give him a break. He was facing Wario-"
*Wario starts snoring which grabs all of their attention*
"...who is asleep right now." said Mario, finishing his earlier sentence.
"How did he do that so fast?" asked Toad in awe.
Meanwhile in the Fire Flowers cabin, on the boys' side...
"Woo-hoo! Let's get this party started!" exclaimed Lyle, jamming out to music from his portable speaker.
"Um, Lyle? It's 12:30 in the afternoon. It's a little too early for a party." said Yoshi.
"Aw come on man. No one likes a buzzkill." said Lyle.
"What?! I am not a-"
"Yeah! I like this guy's energy! Come on guys! There's nothing wrong with a little pre-game celebration." said Waluigi, now standing next to Lyle.
"Now you're speaking my language Purple Man. Hey, you wanna bunk with me bro?" asked Lyle.
"Sure man. Why not?" said Waluigi, with a grin.
Just then, Luigi came strolling through the door, carrying his duffle bag.
"Hey Luigi. Where've you been?" asked Yoshi.
"I was helping Daisy with her bags. It's a riot over there." said Luigi.
"Not much different over here. Especially with Lyle." said Yoshi, pointing to Lyle and Waluigi who were both dancing to Lyle's speaker.
"Eh, I'll take this over ghosts any day." said Luigi, as he placed his bag on his bottom bunk.
Just then though, Tom suddenly entered the room and the atmosphere immediately changed. Everyone tensed up as he walked toward the back of the cabin, until he eventually stopped in front of Dave who was sitting on the bottom bunk.
"Umm...h-hi." said Dave, really nervous.
He was starting to fill with dread at the thought of what this Shy Guy could be thinking. Then...Tom simply stepped to the side and climbed the ladder up to the top bunk.
*Dave breathes a sigh of relief*
"Okay. I guess we can go back to jammin'." said Lyle, as he and Waluigi resumed their jam session.
Meanwhile on the girls' side...
"No, I want the single bed!" exclaimed Mona.
"Nuh-uh! It's going to me!" said Daisy.
"Girls, please. There is no need to fight. We must try to find peace." said Rosalina, as her Luma shook in fear beside her, covering his eyes.
Unfortunately, her words of wisdom didn't seem to be working as Mona and Daisy continued to argue over who would be getting the single bed.
Suddenly, however, a heavy gym bag dropped to the floor just inside the door.
All the girls inside then turned their attention to Evelyn who had a mean scowl plastered on her face.
"*headbutts her gym bag onto the single bed* The bed is mine. End of discussion. *pauses for a moment* Anyone got a problem with that?" asked Evelyn.
"Nope! No problem!" said Mona, immediately backing down.
"Meh, I guess a single bed isn't all that worth it anyway..." said Daisy, as she backed off as well.
"Hmph. That's what I thought." said Evelyn, as she hopped onto the bed.
"Well, I guess I have to take one of these bunk beds." said Mona.
"You're welcome to bunk with me Mona." said Rosalina, from the top bunk.
"Thanks Rosie." said Mona, as she took the bottom bunk.
"I guess that means I'm with you Mina." said Daisy.
"Huh? Oh. Oh yeah. Right." said Mina, who looked completely out of it.
"Hey, you alright?" asked Daisy concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine, I just...miss my best friend." said Mina.
"Hey I get it. My best friend's on the other team too. But you know what? I'm not letting that get me down, and you shouldn't either! Come on! Let's get outta here! I know exactly what'll cheer you up!" said Daisy.
"What?" asked Mina.
"Food!" said Daisy enthusiastically.
That enthusiasm was killed the moment everyone stepped into the mess hall and saw what awaited them.
*some sloppy gray substance is seen bubbling in a pot*
"What are all of you standing over there for? Get your butts over here and eat! I didn't cook this food to go to waste!" said an angry looking Rocky Wrench, wearing a chef hat and apron instead of a manhole cover.
At the sound of his voice, all the contestants immediately scrambled to get in line to receive their food.
"*drops the slop on Dave's plate* Here." said the Rocky Wrench.
"Um...may I ask what this is sir?" asked Dave nervously.
"Spring Shroom chowder. Any more questions?" asked the Rocky Wrench, getting annoyed.
"Yeah! What's your name?" asked Daisy curious.
"*groans* Chef Roger. Now, take your food, and go sit down somewhere." said Chef Roger.
"Okay!" said Daisy, as she skipped off to the table where her team was sitting.
As Chef Roger continued serving "food" to the contestants, one of them suddenly staggered in, a bit dazed.
"*yawns loudly* Damn that was a good nap." said Wario, entering the mess hall.
"Wario! Where have you been?" asked Mona.
"I was taking a nap babe. I'm bored! I'm ready to get this thing started. I-Wait. Is that...*runs up to the front of the line and sniffs the food* It is! Spring Shroom chowder! Come to Wario!" said Wario, as he started eating the chowder off of everyone else's plate, who was standing in line.
"Huh. I didn't expect anyone to actually like this stuff." said Chef Roger bewildered.
"Wario is a different breed." said Boo.
"*enters the mess hall* Well, it looks like everyone enjoyed their lunch right?" asked Isaac, with a mischievous grin.
"NO!" exclaimed everyone except Wario.
"Isaac honey, where did you get this slop? I've never heard of Spring Shroom chowder. I didn't even know those things were edible." said Goombella.
"*gags* Mine still has a metallic taste." said Yoshi, spitting his chowder back out.
"In some galaxies, Spring Shroom chowder is actually a renowned delicacy." said Rosalina.
"Well, this isn't space, Starry Night. We're on Earth. And here, I would expect some decent food." said Pauline, with her arms crossed.
"Listen everyone, good things come to those who wait. Pauline, if your team wins today's challenge, there will be a much better reward than just metal chowder." said Isaac.
"There better be." said Pauline.
"Alright! I think you guys have been fed-"
*cut to Wario still stuffing his face*
"So, without further ado, let me introduce you all to your first challenge!" exclaimed Isaac.
Suddenly, the scene transitions to all the contestants standing atop a rock formation that resembles a Koopa's head. This precepice overlooks the ocean from about an 1000 ft height.
"So...who wants to go first?" asked Isaac, as the contestants just stood there frozen in fear.
