SALVATORE BOARDING HOUSE
The four filed into the grand living room of the Salvatore boarding house, "What is this place?" Abby inquired, "It's been around since 1914, it was a boarding house in the 50s," Stefan clarified. Damon found his way to the bar and started pouring a drink, "Please tell me that one is for me," Abby stated while sitting on the couch, Damon smirked in response handing her the drink. The two men stood across from the two women, Cass had her arms crossed and was looking all around the room, "What in the fuck is going on here?" Cass questioned, the brothers raised their eyebrows never hearing Cassidy curse before. "This is like the goddamn Twilight Zone," Abby remarked while sipping her drink, "We thought you guys died that night, what happened?" The brothers looked at each other, Stefan leaned back against a window,
"We were being fed vampire blood weeks before that night," Damon crossed his arms. "By who, Katherine?" Cassidy's voice was full of venom. Abigail stood up, "Holy shit! Here we are fucking crying our eyes out because we're overwhelmed and relieved to see you two when, let's not forget, you guys were fucking Katherine the vampire bitch from hell! This is too much for me, Damon, you and Cass were married and had a-" Cassidy cut her off, "Abby!" She threw her head in her hands then looked back up, "So you guys turned that night?" "We went into the transition that night, yeah," Damon replied, barely able to make eye contact, "Who turned you two? And daylight rings, how'd you get your hands on those?" Damon inquired.
"You might as well bring the whole bottle over here cause this is going to be a very long night," Cass stated, "What about the-'' Abby stopped when Cassidy's eyes darted at her, "I mean it's only 9:30, we can get back whenever," Abby said and Cass nodded slowly. "You guys have somewhere to be later?" Damon questioned, the girls shook their heads. The brothers looked at each other questioningly, "Someone who knew Katherine, a vampire named Grace turned us, she got the daylight rings from a witch Emily knew in Lynchburg," Cass said matter-of-factly. "It doesn't make any sense, why'd she turn you guys?" Stefan questioned, "She found out that Katherine was in a tomb under Fell's church and she didn't die that night" Abby explained, the boys shared eye contact with each other yet again. Abby continued, "She knew Katherine destroyed our relationships so she gave us the opportunity for much-needed revenge."
"So you two are here for the comet?" Damon said smirkingly, Cass' eyes squinted, "How'd you know about that?" "We're here for the same thing," Stefan clarified. The room went silent, "So all of us are here, after all this time, to kill Katherine? Why would you guys want that? You fucking fell for her." Abby exclaimed. "It's not worth it Abby," Cass said, shaking her head and pouring another drink. Abby stood up, "No this isn't fair! What I saw that night was horrible, absolutely horrible, what happened to us? The four of us loved each other so much, we spent our entire lives together!" "That night wasn't what you thought it was Abby," Stefan looked up at her, "She compelled us, whether she knew you saw or not, she compelled us, we didn't have vervain at that point." Abby sat back down, she looked at her sister who was staring into her drink, "Compelled?" Abby asked. The four of them all looked at each other and the two brothers nodded.
Cassidy breathed in deeply, she looked at her sister then the Salvatores, "She knew, she knew you were going to see Abby, she planned it, it was all a part of it! She wanted to ruin our relationships, have you two think we were dead so when she came out of the tomb you'd all be together. How did we not see it? After everything she'd done, after Da-" She couldn't finish the sentence which caused the brothers so puzzled looks on their faces. "Oh god there is so much you don't know," Cassidy said, getting up and pacing around the room. "All four of us for the past century thought each other were dead and now we all come back to Mystic Falls with the same vendetta?" Cassidy's pace increased, Damon got up and stood in front of her, he grabbed her arms and looked her in the eyes, it was almost too much for the both of them. Motioning like she was going to grab her chest, she placed her hand over his, "I thought you were gone," she said. "I did too," then Damon looked to the rest of the room, "We couldn't stand knowing that you two thought that before you died." They sat back down, "Well now we're in this together right? We're finishing what we all came here to do?" Stefan inquired.
"We have a witch on the way, Grace knows all about the comet and the tomb and she's coming with Marta the moment it passes over Mystic Falls," Abby added. Damon walked across the room, unlocked a cabinet, pulled out a box, lifted the faux bottom, and pulled out an amulet, "And we have this, Bennett gave it to us, we need it for the spell." They all exchanged eye contact with each other, "This is really happening," Stefan remarked. "Yeah, this is a fucking lot to take in," Abby said sitting on the ground. They all sat down on the floor around the table until the bottle was finished.
"Cass you're going to need to drive home," Abby said while getting up, Cass laughed, "Like I didn't know that already." The brothers looked at each other and smiled, then looked at the women they loved since childhood. "You two don't want to stay here in the boarding house?" Stefan asked, "Slow your roll," Abby said, poking Stefan in the chest, "That's not what I meant, just um, I didn't know if you two had a place in town." Abby smirked, "This is totally crazy guys! We're all 21st-century vampires like what the fuck!" Damon beamed, "Yeah I need to get this one home," Cass said. The two women walked out the door to their car, "But we'll talk to you guys soon and maybe, see each other soon?" Cass asked and the men nodded. Not knowing what else to say she just looked at the Salvatore brothers. Cloaked in the moonlight the men looked at the two women, amazed at their beauty and bewitched by their smiles.
Once they got in the car Cassidy let out a deep breath, "I can't believe that Damon and Stefan are alive," she paused, "well we're all undead but you know what I meant, just my god I can't believe that they're here and we were with them, we've only ever known them as humans in the 1800s and here we are as vampires in the 21st century." "It's like we have to grieve their deaths. It's so weird and oh my god they both looked so good I forgot just how perfect they are." "Abby!" Cass screeched at her sister if they could her cheeks would have been red, "All these years we thought they wanted Katherine when it was just more of her fucking mind games," Cass gasped, "Oh my fuck! Abby!" She said, hitting her sister's arm, "The kids! We have to tell them about the kids! Holy shit and Damon, he thinks Daniel…" Abby's eyes widened, "Neither of them knew we were pregnant! Oh god," she said holding her face, "I'm too plastered to even try and comprehend how crazy all this is. "Fuck, what are we going to do? What are we going to do Abby?!" Cass exclaimed and Abby let out a small scream, "You're freaking me out Cass, we're going to have mental breakdowns or something... tonight has been a lot," "To say the least," Cass finished.
"I'm not going to be able to sleep Abby. Can we please stay up and keep drinking?" "I've never loved you more than I do now, that's exactly what we're going to do, we have to let the liquor do the thinking." The sisters got home and checked on the kids, they were all asleep on the couches they'd last seen them on. They changed into comfier clothes then went into Cass's room to talk. Getting on the bed with their bottle of wine, they sat and looked at each other. "They're alive Cass, our children's fathers are alive," Abby whispered, "Should we tell them?" Cass started to bite her nails, "Who? The kids? Or Stefan and Damon?" Abby threw herself down on the bed. "The kids think their fathers died in the 1800s but Damon and Stefan never knew we were pregnant let alone that Daniel is alive," Abby stated, "You think we should tell them first and then the kids? We wouldn't be able to see them again without telling them, they'd… who knows what they'd feel if we kept seeing them and didn't tell them," Cass replied.
"You're right Cass, this is all so crazy like, it's just been us two with our babies, do you think they'll want to be a part of their lives?" Cass shook her head, "I don't know Abby, I can't think that far ahead, all I'm thinking about is whether or not they'll be happy." Cass let some tears fall and turned on her side to look at her sister, "I have to tell Damon we found Daniel and he's alive." Abby embraced her sister, "Oh Cass." The two sisters eventually drifted off to sleep.
When the sisters got up it was almost the afternoon, "I'm going to need so much coffee and water," Cass yawned while stretching, "And blood," Abby said. They walked downstairs to see Daniel and the girls watching TV, "You guys got in late last night," the boy remarked, "Yeah, you guys get any?" Emma said with a smirk while looking at her phone. Daniel threw a pillow at his sister, "Don't you dare say that about mom," Emma and Lily started to snicker. "How was the party?" Abby's daughter asked, looking at her very tired mom and aunt. They shared a look, "Definitely interesting, the Lockwoods seemed only a little fucked," Abby stated, causing her daughter to smile. Emma sat up on the couch, "We kinda did something arguably immoral last night," the sisters were making coffee in the kitchen, "And what would that be?" Cass asked. "Well, we've been doing the animal diet and that's fine and all," Emma started but Lily interrupted, "It was totally my idea because I've been having a super craving for Type A so we kinda sorta robbed a blood bank." The moms gasped, "People need that blood!" Cass exclaimed, "Yes we know that so we compelled like twenty people to donate today," Lily finished. She squinted her eyes, "No harm no foul?" She asked her mom and aunt. "Can we just maybe not make a habit of it and we'll go a few towns over if we need to?" Abby asked and Cass added, "And maybe give us a heads up?" The girls nodded but Daniel kept his eyes on the TV.
The sisters replenished with blood then sat next to the couch with their kids. They were up for an hour or so before Abigail got a text, 'Are you two free to meet up later?-Stefan' Abby almost gasped and looked over to her sister, signaling her with her eyes, "Oh no the realtor said she's missing some documents from us," Cass furrowed her eyebrows, "Which ones?" "I don't know but let's get on the computer." The moms glanced at their children to see if they aroused any suspicion but they were all focused on the TV or their phones. They went upstairs to the office, "I got a text," Abby whispered looking at the door. She showed Cass her phone as they walked to the furthest corner of the room. "Why didn't I get one?" Cass said, seeming agitated, "He could barely look at you, you two didn't even talk since you know what, he probably doesn't know how to approach you." Cassidy's mouth squirmed and she crossed her arms, "So are we meeting them later?" "Duh!" Abby said, hitting her sister in the arm, "Oh god I'm so nervous, we have to take showers and get dressed." Cass threw her head back, "We're going to have to tell them today." Abby took a deep breath then smiled, "Let's just keep our heads up okay?" Cass nodded and they left the room.
The sisters got dressed and ready to meet the Salvatores at the boarding house, this time Abby was driving. "Why am I so nervous to see Damon? Like we were married and we've known both of them since we were small, everything just seems so different now," Cass said looking out of the window. "Well everything is different Cass but, that foundation will always be there, the more we see them the easier it'll be to wrap our minds around this. The men we loved so much are fucking here with us and hopefully, they'll want to meet their kids and they'll know that Daniel is alive," Abby said trying to reassure her sister. "Why am I so nervous Abby?" Cass threw her head back, "This doesn't feel like me, my emotions are like all over the place." "Do any of them include please throw onto your bed and rip my clothes off?" Abby asked with a laugh. "Abby!" Cass screeched, which made Abby laugh harder, "I don't know about you but I think I'm in a 'let's pick up where we left off before I thought you willingly cheated on me with Katherine' kinda mood." "Oh my god, Abby! We are getting way too ahead of ourselves," Cass pleaded but her sister wasn't having it, "I'm so scared Cass but I'm immensely happy at the same time like, I hope they feel the same way about us because I kind of want a second chance," she said smiling. Cassidy chewed on her thumbnail, "I don't know, I think I'm too in my head." "Well get out of it sister cause we're here!" "So we have no plan for telling them? We're just diving right on in or a shot in the dark." "Exactly, at this point, there's no right or wrong way for anything."
