Issue 9: Doctor's Appointment

Angel Island, Mobius

It was a dark and stormy night when the Master Sanctorum secretly approaches an island floating high in the sky. Not many people know about this floating island. A few only know what secrets sleeps there. Barely anyone lives on the island. Just the animals enjoying themselves, and one knuckleheaded echidna sitting in deep thought at a Shrine Isle.

'Earth. Remnant. I've visited a lot of strange worlds these past few months ever since the mysterious ISO-8 came to be…An entire multiverse revealed to me. While I would love to explore it, I have my duty here in this world, on this dark lonely island…As the last of my kind, I have to guard the Master Emerald from those that wish to abuse its power. To this day, I still don't know the full reason why this is my fate. It's just how it is. And I'm at peace with that. Right now…and in the future, too…'

Knuckles the Echidna is Sonic's longtime friendly rival, who was briefing over his own history while sleeping next to the enormous gem that he has been tasked in guarding for the rest of his life. The Master Emerald. But even amidst his sleep he remains vigilant of thieves, even those that think themselves stealthy as his ears perk to the quiet sound of intruders.

"What the…?!" Knuckles muttered while waking himself up.

BGM-Sonic Adventure OST-Strain

Knuckles turns around to find two mysterious silhouetted beings near the Master Emerald, one that seems to be a red sinisterly humanoid spider and the other being a blue menacing mobian hedgehog. "Who are you…?" Knuckles interrogated as he can't identify them in this darkness. With a scowl he believes, "Are you trying to steal the Master Emerald? Whoever you two are, you're not taking it!"

Knuckles tries attacking the intruders but they quickly overwhelmed him, with the Mystery Spider countering with a brutal uppercut that allows his hedgehog partner to kick him off the shrine. The Emerald Guardian is far from done and wants to run back up, forcing the Spider to pin him down with incredibly strong webbing.

"Webs?! Wait…Spider-Man?" grunted Knuckles, thinking one of the intruders is his wallcrawling friend from Earth. He gathers all his strength to free himself from his binds but it was too late. Whoever the intruders are, they fled the scene with the Master Emerald in tow, leaving Knuckles very angry and confused, "WAIT! Was that really Spider-Man? And who was that other guy with him? He looked familiar…"

He'll have to save his questions for another time as the Guardian starts to notice his island is beginning to shake violently. "It's started! Without the Master Emerald's power, this whole island will fall into the ocean! AGAIN!" He proclaimed annoyingly, as it wasn't long until all of Angel Island fell into the ocean and leaving Knuckles with the furious goal of finding his Master Emerald for the umpteenth time.

BGM-Marvel's Spider-Man (PS4) OST-Free Roam/Open World Music Theme 1

Everyone is having a blast on Spider-Island. With the Avengers and other heroes busy keeping Manhattan quarantined so that the spider-virus doesn't leave the city, its spiderfied citizens are spending all their time having fun with their newfound powers, ranging from riding atop a bus to web-pulling hot dogs during a baseball game. What tons of people seem to be enjoying the most is web-swinging through the massive city, with Mary Jane and Ruby being notable for having the most fun.

"C'mon, Ruby! Keep up!" MJ taunted the young huntress amidst her high-speed swing that granted her the lead in their fun little race.

"No fair, MJ! How are you already so good at swinging?!" Ruby angrily retorted while performing more basic swings.

"Been watching Pete do this thing for years! Always wanted to web-swing on my own, now I know it's a breeze through and through!" MJ smiled enjoyably.

More interested in testing out her new powers, the envious Ruby leaps off her webline toward the nearest streetlight pole. She uses her enhanced reflexes to catch then spin at ridiculous speed on the pole like she's trying to score high in an uneven bars gymnastic event before jumping back way high, free, and happily amazed into the air to swiftly continue web-swinging by MJ's side, "Can't believe I was able to do all that in one go! Wow! So THIS is what it feels like to be Spider-Man. My muscles feel as strong as my Aura, and I have so many powers that doesn't come from my Semblance. This is the most awesome thing since like E-EVER!" Ruby fangirled over her own amazing spider-powers.

"You think my powers are nice…" Suddenly blitzing pass the spider-newbies is Peter Parker happily swinging through the city, out in public and not in his classic costume, "Can't tell you how often I've dreamed of this! Web-swinging through the city and NOT having to change. It feels SO good being out in the open!"

"I'm glad you all are enjoying yourselves." Weiss sassed from a nearby rooftop looking jealous at her spider-friends.

"What's the matter, Weiss? Swing with us! The air's fine!" Ruby told her.

"I would…" Weiss tries spinning out a webline from her wrist but can barely shoot a web, let alone a webline, which leaves her frustrated, "If I knew how this works!"

Being the kind friend he is, Peter swings to her side to tutor her a little. "It's all in the wrist. While swinging, rely on your Spider-Sense. It'll guide you. Help you fire a webline on something that'll support your weight." He gently touches her hand to help her form the right gesture to fire a webline on the nearest building, which she promptly does. "There you go." Peter smiled. The Spider-Heiress takes in a deep breath to calm her nerves before making her leap of faith. Amidst her swing, she has her Spider-Sense help her spin another webline to another building that she swiftly swings on. Again and again. And with each successful swing, her smiling confidence grows as she too begins to enjoy web-swinging. "Nice! You're getting a hang of it! Master your quips and you'll be one step closer in becoming the Spectacular Spider-Schnee!" Peter joked while swinging alongside his friend.

"Like I need quips to be spectacular." Weiss quipped, before smiling, "Still, thanks for the lesson."

"Anytime." Peter smiled back.

After having a little more fun web-swinging, the Dimensional Avengers got serious upon landing on a rooftop near Empire State University. "Are we here?" Ruby asked her leader.

"Not exactly." Peter answered as he gestures his friends to the university, "That right there is Empire State University. One of my dream colleges and one of the Jackal's last known hideouts. According to Fury, we may find some evidence that'll lead us to his secret base."

"What should we expect? Any of your clones?" Ruby asked.

"Unless he made new ones. The brothers I knew died a long time ago." Peter replied.

"Brothers? You refer to the clones that wanted to torment you as your 'brothers'?" questioned Weiss, curious to know why he gives such genetic monsters respect.

BGM-Marvel's Spider-Man (PS4) OST-Responsibility

"Not all of them. But there were two that earned that honor with their dying breath…" Peter somberly turns away to stare aimlessly that is helping him reminisce over the life of one of his clone brothers, "The first clone I met was Ben Reilly. Jackal programmed him into believing he was the real Spider-Man and fought me to claim his existence as the original. After some time, and some…wild complications, he came to terms with being a clone and carved out his own path as the Scarlet Spider. We started off on the wrong foot, but Ben and I became great friends. Always happy to lend each other a hand, whether it'd be with crime-fighting or showing up to school on time like it's a miracle. Which made his sacrifice to save me from Green Goblin that more tragic…"

"Osborn…" Ruby snarled, with both her and Weiss furious to learn another of Peter's loved ones was killed by that maniac.

"I had my problems with Ben. Him just being there made things incredibly confusing. But in the end, he proved to be a great guy. A hero in his own right. Didn't matter he was a clone of Peter." MJ gave her own somber comments about Ben Reilly.

"What about the other clone?" Ruby asked.

"Boy…" Peter shamelessly scratches his hair as he reminisces over the life of his other clone brother, "Now that guy…? That guy was a problem. His name was Kaine. He was the first twisted clone Jackal created. The Prototype Evil Clone of the Amazing Spider-Man. Because he was a prototype, he was doomed to a lifetime of slow, painful cellular degeneration which left him insane, driven mad with envy that led him to fights with me and Ben and even framed me for a crime I didn't commit. Wasn't fun."

"Then why consider a monster like that a brother?" A confused Weiss questioned.

"Because behind all that gruff and anger and mistrust was just a man that wanted to be just like me, even if he didn't admit it." Peter answered solemnly, "For once in his miserable life, he did something noble during a messed-up grim hunt. He sacrificed himself so I could live. So our Spider-Family could save the city. For that, he died a hero, and was buried as a Parker."

"Would've love to meet your brothers." Ruby remarked.

Peter smiles, "Ben would've loved ya. Kaine would just love yelling at you with very coarse language." He joked, which got a little huntress giggling. "C'mon, we have a job to do. Let's see what my old professor may be hiding." He ordered before leading the group web-swing to ESU.

The entrance to Jackal's old hideout was protected by a sturdy metallic door that Mary Jane easily ripped open for the group. "Not seeing anything." commented MJ as they investigate the abandoned laboratory.

"Keep looking. You never know when you'll turn over a clue, or something will leap out at you." Peter advised everyone to keep searching for evidence. Unbeknownst to the heroes, they are being watched by three mysterious criminals that are hiding in the shadows above them with their own spider-powers.

Below Manhattan…

BGM-Sonic Adventure OST-Dilapidated Way (Casinopolis)

Sonic the Hedgehog is having some high-speed spidery fun venturing the sewer systems of New York City. While Peter's team hunts down the Jackal, the Blue Blur is in charge of his own sub-team in searching for Doctor Octopus who they also suspect is behind this spider-outbreak. Amidst his run he takes a break, with his teammate Yang finally catching up as he wonders where they ended up in this massive sewer maze.

"Good job, Yang…You got us lost!" Sonic blamed her.

"Me?! YOU'RE the one who got us lost!" The annoyed Yang reflects the blame back at him.

"Whatever…I'll just use my Spider-Sense." Sonic tapped his head.

"Can it work like a GPS?" Yang wondered.

"It detects danger, and Doc Ock is one dangerous dude. 'Course it'll work." Sonic cockily retorted.

Swiftly after, both Tails and Blake caught up to their competitive friends, with the annoyed latter glaring them, "About time you two slowed down! These sewers are like a maze. You're lucky our Spider-Sense could detect other spiders."

"That's why I had no problem going ahead." Sonic quipped.

"You're impossible." Blake scowled, "Anyway, let's be careful from here on out. I'm sensing security cameras up ahead."

"I'm also picking up strange cosmic anomalies that are tampering with the space-time continuum. In this direction." pointed Tails, having used his Miles Electric to better track down their foe.

"Guess our SHIELD tip was onto something. Ock has some super-secret underground lab that's hiding another scheme to take over the world. Think he's messing with ISO-8 again?" Sonic asked, this time leading his team in a leisurely stroll through the sewers.

"Possibly. But that could also mean he's not behind this spider-outbreak." Tails commented.

"He has multiple arms. He can multitask." Sonic snarked.

BGM-Dragon Ball FighterZ OST-Spirit

The gang venture deeper into the sewers, and as they do, Yang gives Blake some awkward looks. She is clearly bothered by something as she scratches her blonde hair, giving her the nerve to say what she wants to say. "Soooo…I hear you and Pete are dating now." Yang awkwardly said to her cat partner.

"I guess? All we did was go fishing before this Spider-Virus hit us." Blake replied.

Yang shrugs, "Yeah, that's basically how our relationship started when Goblin showed up. Must be his Parker Luck he's always complaining about. Still, you two have fun."

"Are you sure? I mean, I don't want to get in the way of anything…" Blake shyly responded, not wanting to hurt her friend's feelings.

"Relax. We broke up a long time ago, and you clearly have a thing for him. I'm dating Johnny now." Yang assured her with a smile, before slightly turning away frowning, "Just be careful. Not easy being Spidey's girl."

Blake frowns herself, "I know. But, now that I have my own spider-powers…maybe it'll help me understand him better. He has gone through the worst tragedies, suffered more times than any of us combined, yet has done so much good with these powers. I want to learn for myself if they're truly a blessing or a curse, and improve on either for his sake. This is also a good opportunity to test myself, if I can be just as good a hero as Spider-Man." She finished determinedly.

"Hmm…" Yang murmured to herself, with a somber look that implies she too is using this rare opportunity with spider-powers to understand both Peter Parker and Spider-Man better.

Soon, after avoiding some security cameras, the team find themselves blocked off by a wall that looks normal yet seems suspicious. "A dead end." Sonic commented.

"Not exactly. There's something behind this wall." Tails detected with his handheld.

"Want me to break it down?" Yang asked.

"Unless you want to trigger the alarms, sure." Tails quipped. Deciding to use his Spider-Sense, the fox tries to find something that'll open up the entrance into the secret lab, quickly detecting a switch camouflaged as a pipe, "This should do it."

BGM-Spider-Man Unlimited OST-Underwater

Tails pulls on the pipe, which seamlessly reveals a passageway in the wall that leads the heroes to a secret vertical shaft that is well-guarded with lasers. "Alright, we're gettin' somewhere." The smiling Sonic remarked.

Wanting to be stealthy for this operation, Blake suggests to everyone her plan, "I'll go on ahead for recon. Gather some information-." only for Sonic to completely ignore her by jumping down the vertical shaft, "Or ignore me completely and potentially lead us into disaster. That works too." She sassed with an annoyed look before the team follows the hedgehog into dangerous territory.

Despite just ignoring Blake's plan, Sonic has every intention on being stealthy for this mission. He just hated the idea of waiting. He freefalls with his team in avoiding the shaft's laser defenses before quietly swinging into Ock's secret underwater lab, which terrified the hedgehog the second he saw the sea outside a window. This base is patrolled by Ock's new robotic Sinister Soldiers, with some being stealthily taken down by Blake to make it easier for her friends to traverse. With their spider-powers, it was child's play for those like Tails and Yang to crawl and web-zip over detection, with a grinning Sonic simply speeding past guards that were too slow to notice him.

Eventually the group discovered a massive chamber that was emitting strange loud noises that goaded them into investigating. Once they hid themselves in the ceiling, each of them was shocked upon noticing a large machine that was sucking up cosmic energy that appeared too familiar to them, either converting the energy into crystals stored in their own tanks or liquid stored in similar containers.

"What is that machine?" Blake whispered to her teammates.

"That's the source of the anomalies. It's extracting all the ISO-8 in this dimension." Tails replied.

BGM-Sonic Rush OST-Theme of Strained Event

All at once, the heroes' Spider-Sense alerted them to a door opening for a certain eight-armed menace entering his own facility. "It's Ock." Sonic scowled, recognizing the mad scientist as he approaches a computer to work on.

"Scientists like Tony Stark pride themselves as geniuses, but they don't know the level that I am working on even exists. They're too busy containing a Virus that will soon grow out of their control, giving me enough time to analyze this data that was sent to me by my 'so-called leader'. Bah! I'll show him who is the superior Doctor!" Doc Ock foreshadowed as he types on his computer, projecting various data that a hidden Tails is acutely observing, "Interesting…No wonder he couldn't determine if this was an Exo Stone. As one who has firsthand experience utilizing chaos energy, this Stone taps into the same chaotic force that can also be drawn up the Chaos Emeralds. The ability to transform thought into power and create a miracle."

'Exo Stone?' Tails took a mental note of what Ock monologued.

Ock exasperates at himself, "To think one of the Stones has been hiding above my nose this whole time is insulting! I must retrieve it! Adding another Exo Stone to our collection will prove beneficial in our conquest."

"Sorry, but you'll have to cancel that appointment!"

"Wha-?!" In his surprise, Ock turns around to be confronted by Sonic and his team dropping from the ceiling, "Sonic the Hedgehog?! So what I caught glimpse of on the news WASN'T an ordinary blue blur! You really have returned to this dimension!"

Sonic smirks, "That's right! Here helping my bro Spidey foil another of your schemes. What're you up to this time messing with ISO-8 and spiders?"

"Little pest. I'm simply taking advantage of the spider-outbreak. Soon, ultimate power will be within my grasp. And the Masters of Evil shall be invincible!" Ock retorted with an ominous smirk of his own.

"Masters of Evil?" A curious Blake questioned.

"Ha! I may not know who these Masters are or what your plan is, but it's never going to work." Sonic declared, ready to deliver a speedy smackdown on the octo-scientist.

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Bring on the Bad Guys

"The die is cast, Freedom Fighter!" Ock sinisterly declared, rising to the air using two tentacles to shout, "Sinister Soldiers! ELIMINATE THE INTRUDERS!"

The order was heeded as an army of ISO-8-powered Sinister Soldiers teleport into the room to do battle against the Dimensional Avengers with weapons ranging from swords to blasters. One Soldier wields a baton that nearly smacked Sonic, who countered with a quick kick that sent him away. "Man…You are one stubborn scientist!" Sonic quipped whilst delivering high-speed blows to more robots.

"There's no way we'll lose to him!" Tails said with such determination that empowers his spinning namesakes as they lash out on enemies.

"That's the spirit, Tails!" smiled Yang while striking a robot across its sinister face.

Most of the Sinister Soldiers they're fighting are pretty easy, but one shouldn't underestimate Doc Ock's sinister genius. Some enhanced Soldiers wear diving gear and carry electric batons that are powerful enough to electrocute Sonic, leaving him stun for another deadly blow. Blake leaps to his rescue, literally and coldly disarming the robot for Sonic to blow away with a Spin Dash as she quickly clashes with another Sinister Diver, distracting it from Sonic and his powerful stomp that crushes it to pieces before the hedgehog and cat move at high-speeds pummeling the robotic swarm.

Tails and Yang hold their own against the Sinister Soldiers, with the foxy fighter uppercutting one into the air for the dragon huntress to slam down onto a small crowd with an explosive punch. Things get exciting when Yang utilizes a variant of the Bumblebee team attack on Tails, webbing his spinball form to wildly spin him through the frightened horde while Yang hollers, "WOOOOHOHOOOOOOO!" before going all Ultimate Web Throw that scatters them across the lab, with a flung henchman being smacked away by an infuriated Doctor Octopus.

"So you've been empowered by the Spider-Virus. Makes little difference to a superior foe of the real Wallcrawler!" Otto remarks, signaling a wave of Spider-Thugs to drop in and take on the heroes next.

Just like yesterday, these Spider-Imposters are giving the heroes a real workout since they're equally as powerful and quick as the real Spider-Man. One goon web-ties Tails' namesakes, making it easier to assault him, while another, bulkier thug simply overpowers Blake. Seeing his friends in trouble angered Sonic into saying, "Had enough of you fakers back at the park! Time to speed things up with a FIRE COMBINATION!"

That fierce exclamation prompted Tails and Yang to follow Sonic's lead, with both him and Tails curling into spinball form so they could willingly be used as Yang's new boxing gloves. With this enhanced power on her already devastating strength, the battle-crying Yang plows through spider-thugs like they were nothing, unleashing deadly combos that shatter even the strongest of bones. The huntress ends things off with a devastating slam to the ground, unleashing a destructive fiery wave that smashes all but Ock away.

"Alone at last!" Sonic smirked, glad they now have the opportunity to take on Ock himself.

"Let us end this, Sonic!" Ock scowled, furious that he now has to take matters into his own multi-hands.

Meanwhile with Peter's Team…

"Chance! White Rabbit! You know our orders, anyone shows up here, TAKE 'EM OUT!" ordered by the armored hothead Scorcher, as he and his two other criminal accomplices have just ambushed Peter's team in the old, abandoned laboratory of the Jackal.

"It's all business with you, Scorcher. Tell you what, bet you my share I kill all of 'em myself." retorted Chance, the gambling mercenary as the criminals surround the heroes.

"Bad guys waiting to ambush anyone investigating Jackal's old lab? Might be right that he's behind this." Ruby said to Peter as they have each other's back.

"I'm a genius. Now JUMP!" Peter shouted as the heroes avoid powerful flamethrowers fired from Scorcher, with some of the flames nearly scorching his wacky White Rabbit teammate.

"Watch it, Bubblehead! You almost burnt my whiskers off!" White Rabbit angrily told him.

Peter sees this as his chance to attack with a web barrage alongside his friends' standard web shots. The villains didn't see this coming, instead they sensed the shots coming with a certain tingle that got them dodging with arachnid-like reflexes. 'Oh terrific! They also have spider-powers plus Spider-Sense! Starting to realize why criminals hate fighting me.' The annoyed Peter quipped in his head.

The spidered-up villains briefly go head-to-head with some of the spidery heroes, with Ruby clashing incredible strengths with Chance, while Weiss counters Scorcher's flames with her webs. Those girls are holding their own because of battle experience, unlike Mary Jane that is having trouble spraying her webs on White Rabbit constantly evading them. "Girlie, you are late for a very important date, with my foot!" Rabbit joked while kicking MJ in the face.

"MJ!" Peter shouted, briefly in surprise before scowling with fury at the crooks that harmed his best friend. It was time for him to bust out the good ol' Spider-Fu. The amazing kung-fu spider immobilizes all baddies with webs in a blink of an eye before exploding in a blur of motion that rivals Ruby's rosy speed, beating down on all three spider-criminals with the ultimate power of a spider. In mere seconds, the crooks were knocked out cold on the floor with Peter ending his combo with a cool pose that left the girls amazed.

"You alright, MJ?" asked Peter while helping his ex back on his feet.

"Yeah. But it wouldn't have killed ya to go all Jackie Chan BEFORE I got kicked in the face." MJ quipped.

"Warned ya this would be dangerous." Peter snarked with a grin that got the redhead grinning.

"Would've liked if you let one standing…" Weiss muttered disappointedly, wanting to use the crooks as test dummies for her spider-powers.

"Seriously! I wanted to showoff my powers more!" Ruby expressed her frustration, as she is starting to really love her spider-powers.

"This isn't a game! People's lives are at stake! Sooner we stop the Jackal and find a cure, the better it is for everyone." Peter retorted while webbing up the unconscious villains, though both Ruby and Weiss don't seem to totally agree with that last statement.

"First things first. These guys need to be thrown in jail." MJ gestured to the webbed villains.

"SHIELD can handle that. We need to keep searching for Jackal. Him hiring these thugs to guard his old lab PROVES he's behind this. Just where could he be?" Peter wondered, trying to think of a way to track down his old foe.

"Outside the front door!"

BGM-Sonic Heroes OST-My Ambition

Snapping to the source of the voice is Peter shouting, "WARREN!" upon noticing his nemesis standing outside all cocky with a sinister grin that annoys the heck out of his old students.

"That's PROFESSOR Warren to you, Parker. Show some respect before I give you an F." Jackal quipped.

Peter tries webbing up the professor but he missed, then Ruby tries to surprise him from behind with her Semblance only for the criminal to leap away to a rooftop for safety as the younglings rush out of the lab. "Cloning me wasn't enough. You just HAD to curse everyone with spider-powers!" Peter confronted his enemy from the ground.

"You say curse, I say this is my gift to mankind. Look how much happier the people have gotten since they woke up with spider-powers!" Jackal expressed, gesturing to nearby spider-civilians enjoying themselves.

"I've only noticed how many people have been hurt by them. Clean up your mess, Jackal, or at least tell us how to cure it before we beat it outta you!" Peter threatened.

"There is no curing this plague, but I cannot allow you and your friends to continue interfering. New York City is MINE! The next phase of my greatest experiment is about to begin! One that will web up ALL dimensions!" Jackal vaguely reveals his master plan to the heroes.

"Dimensions? What do you mean?" A confused Ruby questioned him.

"Study up on string theory, multidimensional reality, and matter displacement. You're quizzed on it! And you have a day to complete it!" Jackal laughs maniacally as he uses a special device that opens up a dimensional rift, jumping through it before it closes and before the heroes could give chase.

"WAIT, JACKAL!" Peter snaps his fingers, furious at himself for failing to stop the professor from escaping.

Back in the Underwater Lab…

BGM-Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions OST-Femme Fatale

Doctor Octopus flees at furious speeds through a hazardous hallway while being pursued by Sonic's team that are relentless in stopping his evil plans. "What's the matter, Ock? Got nothing left?" Sonic mocked him.

"Oh I have plenty of tricks that I am eager to test on you!" Ock grinned evilly.

With one frightening jump, Ock leaps to a pathway beside the main one to hurl dangerous mines that'll impede the heroes, because these mines burst out blockades made of robotic tentacles that slow down everyone that isn't fast enough to quick-step out of the way like Sonic. The Blue Blur nearly catches up to Ock, who has another trick up his sleeves. He commands his base to sprout a raging barrage of tentacles that Sonic avoids with swift speeds, even grinding on one before Ock gives him a surprise smack that sends him flying onto Yang, knocking both heroes down for now.

It was Blake's turn to get serious as she slashes through most of the base's tentacles with a single blade beam, with the same powerful attack knocking down Ock long enough for his own tentacles to be webbed by Tails. The twin-tailed fox delivers a lightning-fast spinballing assault on the poor doctor before Blake web-swing kicks him near his Dimensional Harvester.

"Ock, give it up!" Tails mocked.

"There's no way you can beat the Dimensional Avengers! Give yourself up!" Blake declared.

Instead of giving up, Ock laughs at their faces saying, "The Dimensional Avengers? To think the dimensions chose you children to be their protectors is laughable! Each of you are simply test subjects that will bend to my will if you continue misusing your powers!"

"What does that suppose to mean?" asked Yang, as she and Sonic caught up with the others.

Ock doesn't elaborate. He's more interested in jumping to the top of his Harvester exclaiming, "Allow me to demonstrate how to properly wield great power!" with an ominously scary tone. With a terrifying grunt as his tentacles stab themselves into his machine, Ock begins absorbing the limitless cosmic energy stored within to boost his mad power. His newfound power grants him an unbreakable forcefield that also allows him to unleash highly powerful lasers from his tentacles. These lasers are fast, relentless in trying to kill the dodgy heroes while deliberately shattering windows to flood the lower levels with water that scares Sonic into taking shelter at the upper sections of the base.

"He's using the ISO-8 stored in the machine to power himself up!" The horrified Tails noted.

"Gotta know something, Ock! Was it you and the Masters destroying dimensions with this machine? The Fantastic Four and I saw a dimension being farmed for ISO-8 before it blew up!" Yang demanded an answer.

"It is true, but need not worry about that side-effect anymore. The data we collected from our experiments in those realities have perfected the Dimensional Harvester. This dimension will remain intact, if we so choose." Ock grinned sinisterly, expressing that he's willing to endanger an entire universe to accomplish his goals.

"Not gonna allow you to play with my friend's home any longer!" Sonic retorted as he furiously assaults Ock atop his machine. His strongest attacks mean nothing to Ock's forcefield as the mad doctor waits for the moment to counterattack, grabbing the spinballed hedgehog with a tentacle that ferociously slams him to the flooded levels, pinning him down in the depths until he drowns.

"You will never get past my barrier, children." Ock proclaimed.

"He's right. We need to find some way to draw power away from his shield." Tails said, turning to the huntresses near him, "You two help Sonic and hold him off! I want to try something!"

"Be quick!" Yang advised him before rushing back to the fight.

The Blonde Brawler leaps to the top of the Harvester to hold off Ock, clashing explosive punches with his destructive tentacles at a standstill. While he's distracted, Blake strikes at the tentacle that's pinning down Sonic before diving to his rescue, grabbing the terrified hedgehog that is seconds from drowning before swimming him out to safety.

"You okay?" Blake asked him.

"Too much water…I really hate water…" Sonic joked while coughing out water.

"Told you I should've gone ahead for recon." The smiling Blake quipped at his expense.

Suddenly their Spider-Senses alerted the duo into swiftly sliding away from an enraged Ock's energy blast. Both Sonic and Blake hurried back to Yang's side as the trio rush at Ock with everything they got, clashing powers that don't faze the scientist since he's still well-protected by his cosmic barrier. Unbeknownst to Otto, his power is about to be taken away by Tails, as the foxy genius is nearly done hacking his Dimensional Harvester.

"Hope this works." Tails muttered, inputting the final commands to a computer console.

BGM-Sonic X OST-Sonic's Solution

As Ock appears to overpower the heroes, something surprising hits both him and his brilliant machine. The Harvester's energy flow begins to change as it violently siphons away Ock's ISO-8 power, disabling his shield and leaving him vulnerable. "Noooo…! My shield…My Harvester! YOU'RE USING IT AGAINST ME!" Ock furiously exclaimed at the fox who sabotaged his power.

"No more shield, huh. That sounds like our cue." Yang grinned.

With one brutal punch from the brawling huntress, Ock is smacked off his machine before he is web-striked then webbed to its side by Blake. Sonic awaits down below gleefully ready to deliver the final blow to Ock and his schemes as he smiles, "Time to pay the piper, Ock!" With one fully-charged Spin Dash that rockets through the air, Sonic smashes Ock through the massive Dimensional Harvester, causing a chain reaction that causes it and the entire underwater base to begin exploding.

"Piece of cake! Too easy!" Sonic smirked at their victory over the octopus.

BGM End

Though defeated, Doc Ock refuses to admit it to children he deems inferior. He struggles to stand on at least a tentacle, but Blake doesn't want to give him a chance, "You've lost, Octavius. You're coming with us to tell us everything you know about the Masters of Evil."

BGM-Sonic Adventure 2 OST-Suitable Opponent

Suddenly, her Spider-Sense reacts to a new threat that narrowly ambushed Blake yet was more than fast enough and brutal enough to knock her away from Octavius. The same maneuvers were used on the other three heroes, with neither of them lasting more than a second until they were all blown away by this unknown menace. Relatively unknown menace.

As Sonic struggles to stand back up, he gets a good look at his assailant that leaves him quite surprised. He appears to be a roboticized Spider-Man, but with a menacing red suit that is mostly black and black goggle-like lenses. This robotic faker reminds Sonic of another spider-robot that he and Spider-Man teamed up against in their first interdimensional adventure. A sinisterly, so-called superior Spider-Man that reminds him a lot of, "M-Mecha Spider-Man…?"

That's right. Mecha Spider-Man has returned. Rebuilt and more superior than ever thanks to his creator that he just saved from being captured by the Avengers. "Excellent. Your timing is impeccable, Mecha Spider-Man, just as I designed." Ock boasted of his finest creation yet, "You being here must mean you've accomplished your mission in stealing that Gemstone. Fine work indeed."

"We already have enough spider-fakers swinging around, and you went out of your way to build a robot fake?" Yang scowled at the supervillain.

"Mecha was built to be SUPERIOR to Spider-Man in every regard!" Ock retorted, before giving them a foreboding warning, "Our fight isn't over yet! There is no stopping the Masters of Evil! Fight as much as you want, there is no resisting your evolution." With that out of the way, Ock flees alongside Mecha Spider-Man to an escape pod as the base is moments away from being completely destroyed.

More windows crack under the immense pressure as the ocean waters continuously flood the exploding base. Sonic's team frighteningly looks around for any way to escape until their eyes were met with the lucky sight of another escape shuttle just a few feet away from them. "Time to skedaddle!" Sonic exclaimed. By the skin of their teeth, the heroes managed to escape in the escape pod, rocketing through the seas that is definitely leaving Sonic seasick as the underwater base meets its watery end.

Later at Avengers Mansion…

BGM-Mega Man X8 OST- Demo - Deepening Mystery

"So let me get this straight…" In the living room, Nick Fury begins summarizing what he has learned from the D-Avengers after they returned from their exhausting missions, "There's this new group of supervillains calling themselves the Masters of Evil that want to harvest ISO-8 and collect these 'Exo Stones' to obtain ultimate power in ruling the world. At the same time, we have the Jackal interested in spreading his Spider-Virus to other dimensions. Starting to realize this outbreak may be just a decoy from our enemies' true plan."

"So why not give us the instruction manual so we can swing over and save the day, huh?" Peter quipped.

"You know it's not gonna be that simple." Fury shook his head, "There's more to this Spider-Virus than meets the eye. Just don't know what it is yet."

"And we don't know who else is in the Masters of Evil besides Doc Ock and Jackal." Weiss remarked.

"We learned Ock isn't the leader, and the Chaos Stone seems to be one of the Exo Stones they're searching for." Tails said.

Fury says, "The existence of Multiversal Infinity Stones leaves me worried. Since the Masters of Evil are in the hunt for them across dimensions, they'll no doubt leave each of them the gift of total destruction. SHIELD will have an eye out for the other Stones. In the meantime, hunt down Jackal and prevent him from infecting other dimensions." He ordered the heroes to track down Jackal.

"Sure thing. As soon as we figure out where he ended up in the multiverse." Yang snarked, knowing the Jackal won't be easy to track in an infinite multiverse.

"He is in Mobius."

"What?" Peter exclaimed in shock, upon the heroes being surprisingly greeted by Madame Web in her astral form, "Oh it's Madame Web."

"So she's Madame Web. Never seen her in person before." Sonic remarked, having only heard her telepathic voice in recent adventures, "Wait! Did you say Jackal's in Mobius?"

"Yes. The Masters of Evil have already infected another city with the Spider-Virus. You must hurry and keep the city safe until a cure…" Madame Web suddenly feels weak as she clenches onto her head, worrying Peter as he checks on her.

"Are you feeling okay, Web?" A concerned Peter asked.

"I am fine, for now." Madame Web assured him while still feeling a little weak, "Too many spiders are being born…Accessing the Web of Life…Making it difficult for me to see the future…It all links to the Exo Stone with the power to manipulate the mind. From what little I could foresee, you will need the Chaos Stone in this next venture. To overcome the Ultimate Existence…"

"It's going to be difficult using that Stone, but we'll try. We trust you. Just get some rest." Peter softly told his spider-mentor.

BGM-Sonic Adventure 2 OST-Believe in Myself (Instrumental)

"I'll stay behind and protect the city. I'll call if anything weird happens." MJ told her friends, not interested in traveling dimensions for now.

"Good call." Peter approved. Before deciding to leave, Peter wants to switch to his costume in a stylish way, entrapping himself in a web cocoon that he then quickly burst out of as Spider-Man. "Alright! Who's up for a trip to Mobius?" The suited-up team leader excitedly asked his friends.

"I am!" Tails happily raises his hand as he orders, "JARVIS! Engage Aven-Jet Prime!"

"What's an Aven-Jet Prime?" Blake curiously asked the fox.

"Just a little something Ruby, Weiss, and I built while we worked at Stark Industries." Tails smugingly replied.

Soon after, with the Chaos Stone in their possession, the Dimensional Avengers found themselves sitting in their own seats in their very own, highly advanced aircraft in the docking bay of the mansion. A special Quinjet that also serves as their mobile base, born of the combined technologies of Stark and Tails, with extremely powerful weapons designed by Ruby that are additionally powered by ISO-Dust courtesy of Weiss.

"This summer just keeps getting BETTER! WOOOOOO!" Yang hollered, excitedly happy to the extreme that they own their own aircraft.

"Showoff." The smug Sonic smirks at his best buddy.

"Learned from the best." Tails smugs back at him.

With Tails as its expert pilot, the Aven-Jet Prime blasts off to the skies as a Warp Ring to Mobius opens for it to fly through. The Masters of Evil. The Exo Stones. The Spider-Virus. They share secrets that threaten not just Earth but all neighboring realities. And only the D-Avengers could unravel their mysteries before it is too late.

BGM-Spider-Man (Movie Game) OST-Main Menu Theme

KFX Here: A lot certainly has happened. We got the return of Mecha Spider-Man (now sporting the more iconic Superior Spider-Man design). Knuckles will soon join the adventure. And I'm realizing Kaine is more like Shadow the Hedgehog than I thought upon remembering in the comics that he framed Peter in a similar fashion how Shadow framed Sonic in Adventure 2. The multiverse sure is a strange one. Anyway, we're done with Earth for now. Next few chapters will be set in Mobius. And before any of you ask, YES, I am aware of the upcoming RWBY: Ice Queendom anime. Personally, I'm not hyped, just curious.

AuraBender150: I rather want my audience to focus more on my newer work. Doesn't mean I'll ever delete the old stuff, they'll stick around for comparisons and those that like them. Personally, in hindsight, up until Phase 3, I thought the original stories sucked. They suffer from novice mistakes, bad writing and inconsistencies that I'm not proud of. But I'm older now, have better writing skills (somewhat), and have a better understanding of what the hell I'm doing. Again, thanks to The Solaris Dynasty, this series is going through a soft reboot that is allowing me to improve on my older stories and I hope you'll enjoy them and continue with the support.
