AN: Harem has won by a long shot, so I will make it a harem, but I still won't make it the main plot of my story; at the end of the day, the main plot is the action. Do not worry, anti-harem readers, harem will be pretty small and will not majorly impact the story from what I had planned. At least give it a chance, perhaps you may end up liking it! If you skip this purely because of the harem, your loss.

The Confrontation
Ascension of the Fallen: Chapter 12
Reyna sighed in frustration as her head plopped into the absolute stack of paperwork that she had yet to get done.
Being the praetor of New Rome was NOT easy. Her co-praetor, Mark, a son of Mars, did humongous amounts of work as well, but he was off on a weeklong break, leaving her working overtime just to get all the work signed.
The door opened, and the daughter of Bellona really didn't want to deal with whoever this was.
"Who is ITT??" she snapped angrily, lifting her head from the stack of papers as she blinked twice to get rid of her blurry vision.
Lupa let out a wolfish grin, slowly stalking over to Reyna's desk as the praetor rolled her eyes at Lupa's attempt at intimidation. She had long outgrown being afraid of the mother of Rome, unlike many of Rome's citizens.
"Irritated today, aren't you?"
"Yes, Lady Lupa," Reyna's head drooped in defeat and tiredness, "the senators argue all day, barely getting anything done, while I need to sign all this paperwork."
The daughter of Bellona gestured to the absolutely ridiculous amount of paperwork on her desk.
Lupa nodded in understanding before she stiffened dramatically, whimpering slightly.
Reyna's eyes widened in shock. Never had Lupa, the mother of Rome, and the notoriously scary wolf, been scared before.
She smelt real, raw fear from the wolf, and anything that could scare Lupa was surely not good.
"Wha-"
"Shhhh…. Terminus has informed me of a development on the Field of Mars. Let us move quickly, go, NOW!"
Reyna grabbed her spear and shield, quickly moving along side Lupa as they sprinted towards the Field of Mars.
Time skip
Reyna's hand flew to her mouth in shock while Lupa transformed out of her wolf form and into her human form, backing away slightly.
Twenty yards away from the field was him.
The former king of the gods, the one that went toe to toe with Saturn himself. The god who single-handedly defeated four titans, who outwitted Prometheus.
His feats of strength and honor were widely known across the mythological world. He was also overthrown. And he had been wronged by Jupiter himself.
They were told never to speak of him. Yet surely the gods could not have anticipated him, here, on the Field of Mars.
His aura of power was unyieldingly terrifying, causing both Reyna and Lupa to fall to their knees. The remaining curious spectators on the field fell as well, all being forced to kneel as he exerted his will upon them.
He was an imposing, powerful figure, with broad shoulders and a confident posture worthy of a king, yet not exuding arrogance.
He wore a gold and black toga, showing his lean, rippling muscles as he stretched casually. The god was a giant even in his human form, around six foot four. His face was clean shaven, with a sharp jawline and high cheek bones, and his eyes were an impossibly dark, inky black.
They turned first to look at Lupa, forcing the wolf goddess into submission, and then to Reyna.
The daughter of Bellona felt an impossibly dominating, masculine force upon her, and Deus' predatory eyes seemed to bore into her very soul, causing her to blush yet be absolutely frightened and helpless as Deus turned his gaze away.
His seemingly calm as Lord Mars appeared in front of him.
"Lord Deus," Mars greeted, bowing as Camp Jupiter gasped at his actions.
Deus grasped Mars' forearm like they were brothers and pulled the god up from the ground.
"No need. It's just Deus to you, Mars."
Bellona, her own mother, appeared in front of Deus, drawing her spear and shield in preparation for a fight.
That was before Deus' eyes narrowed at the war goddess.
Deus slammed his foot into the ground, causing a small shockwave across the Field of Mars, as everyone lost their balance.
He stepped forward swiftly, towering over the war goddess with his hands behind his back as she crumbled to her knees.
"D-d-deus…" she stammered, a blush coloring her cheeks as she gulped nervously, waiting to see what the god would do.
He grabbed Bellona by the neck, whispering to her, yet every single person on the Field of Mars could hear him.
"I will not tolerate your insolence," he hissed dangerously into her ear, "join me or I will coerce you to join me. Your Greek aspect did not dare to anger me. But you did, like an insolent brat. Remember that I can separate you from Enyo with ease. You are expendable, and I do not care about you. The only reason you are alive is because of your Greek persona. Tread lightly. Understood?" he growled dangerously, sending shivers down every spectator's spine.
The war goddess nodded submissively as Deus released his grip on her neck.
The daughter of Bellona looked upwards as dark clouds began rolling in, thunder sounding ominous as one bolt struck the ground right in front of Deus. To his credit, the god of time didn't even flinch as he stood calmly.
Another powerful bolt of lightning hit the ground, blinding every single spectator on the Field of Mars.
The god of time opened his eyes.
Jupiter, king of the gods, stood across from the legendary Deus.
Juno, queen of the gods, appeared beside Jupiter, whom Deus regarded with a critical eye.
Apollo, true to his name and shining as bright as the sun, wielded a flaming bow and arrow, lowering it in sadness as he caught a glimpse of the god of darkness.
Mercury appeared, slamming his glorious caduceus into the ground, his two snakes slithering dangerously along it, forming a sort of helix. His brown eyes widened as he saw his uncle.
Minerva flashed in, her grey eyes scanning the battlefield and widening in shock as she saw the god of time. She lifted her spear and shield, preparing a defensive stance.
Venus appeared in all of her narcissistic beauty, blushing red and fanning herself as she caught a glimpse of Deus' muscles.
Ceres appeared, wielding a scythe as she roamed her eyes over the pleasing figure of Deus.
On Deus' side, more gods appeared.
The god of the high seas appeared in all his glory, wielding his legendary trident.
The lord of the underworld walked through a portal, the scream of souls behind him.
Vulcan. Even Mars moved silently to his side. Bellona was rooted to the ground in shock, unable to move.
Never had there been so many immortal deities in one space, and the Romans, in spite of their training, found themselves unable to comprehend what was happening.
"Deus, brother."
"Jupiter. Backstabber," Deus calmly replied.
"Brother, I was not in control during that time. And you know that. Zeus was in full control of me," the lord of the skies pleaded.
The skies turned dark and ominous as Deus replied, "You were in full control before the day of my fall," he pointed at the gods before him, "every single one of you was responsible. I care not for excuses."
Several of the Olympians, including Minerva and Mercury, opened their mouths to protest, but Deus cut them off, slamming a staff that he pulled out of nowhere on the ground with authority.
"This," he gestured around, "this… meeting is over."
Deus flashed away with the rest of his allies, leaving the Field of Mars and leaving everyone pondering.
Line break
For millennia he had been storing his energy, waiting for the moment for when he would strike. His enchanting, blue eyes darted around cautiously, looking upwards.
Now was the time.
The man watched calmly with eagle eyes as a droplet of water fell far from the icy ceiling.
It was so cold that his breath came out as a small misty cloud; nevertheless, the man was no stranger to the cold.
His back was braced and fully restrained due to a strong alloy of celestial silver, imperial gold, and mortal steel, something that the man loathed.
He had been imprisoned.
Locked away for eternity, never to see the light of day again.
He channeled the anger away.
Vengeance on Aether would have to wait.
Using all of his energy he had gathered from his surroundings over millennia, he channeled all of it and released, causing the needles on his braced back to release, as he breathed for the first time in centuries.
It felt so good. He took a deep inhale, exhaling slowly lest the guards hear him.
The cobalt daimon flexed his muscles, breaking the brace off his back violently, as Aether's guard far above noticed.
"OH NO! GO GO GO! Archers at the ready! FIRE CROSSBOWS!" a commander bellowed above, trembling slightly while the jade daimon struggled against his chains.
Held down by five-ton boulders each, the immortal's chains were pulling him down into the ground rather painfully, and he didn't like that.
The figure tugged on his chains ferociously, managing to put up one of his knees while the other one was still on the ground.
In an immense feat of strength, the man pulled the five-ton boulders up, as the thick chains of celestial bronze snapped.
He quickly swung to the side, ducking as several large crossbow arrows hit the spot he had just been standing in.
The cobalt daimon flexed his leg muscles, launching himself thirty feet into the air and landing on one of the icy towers.
He spun, kicked, and dodged, slamming his fists into his opponents viciously as he ended them.
He dodged another mace from one of Aether's soldiers, quickly knocking him out and taking his mace.
Without a weapon he had been devastating.
With a weapon, he was one to be feared.
The cobalt daimon restored himself to his full potential, brutally demolishing the soldiers of Aether left and right.
A blink and you'd miss it.
Each tower was utterly devastated as the daimon ripped through muscle and bone with his new mace. He threw the mace with an astronomical amount of force, lining up ten of Aether's soldiers and knocking them all out.
Another line of soldiers came at him as they rushed forwards, and the daimon channeled his power, releasing the blue beam as it blew at gargantuan speeds. The cobalt immortal was pushed backwards as the beam tore through the soldiers, leaving them screaming in pain.
He needed to get to his beloved weapons.
One lone man stood in his way. The commander.
The commander shakily raised his sword at the immortal, and, without another word, both charged.
The daimon clearly outclassed the man, toying with him and putting lines and bruises all over the place.
With immense force, the cobalt daimon chucked the man through the ceiling and into the upper heavens.
Sooner or later, the primordial would realize what he was doing, but the cobalt daimon couldn't care less.
He entered the weapons room, kicking the door open with tremendous force.
The cobalt daimon flexed his hands as he grabbed his beautiful blue and silver battle axe and his cobalt blue shield, which were glowing at his touch, his two best friends.
He flexed his arm muscles as he swung the battle axe, throwing it upwards.
It carved a path through the icy glacier and into the frosty skies, returning faithfully back to his hand.
Rolling his neck, the cobalt daimon tensed his muscles and launched straight into the air through the hole, landing in the snow.
The commander finally came down screaming, and the daimon grabbed several other swords, propping them up in the snow.
Aether's commander was brutally impaled, sliding down the swords as the daimon stepped around to the front of the man.
He grabbed the commander by the neck as the man took his last breaths, "The Council… will never s-succeed. There will always," the man gasped for air as the cobalt figure tightened his hold on his neck, "be someone to stop you."
Aether's commander proceeded to spit blood on the cobalt daimon's cloak in defiance.
The daimon shrugged and cleanly decapitated the man, leaving his head on a pike.
That would send a message to Aether to not mess with him.
The daimon narrowed his eyes as he looked around; judging by the sun, this was Antarctica.
The man clenched his fists, slamming his battle axe into the freezing snow, causing a rippling shockwave across the snow.
He would free the Council, and they would cleanse the world of its sins.
The Olympians.
The Titans, who he heard had now risen and were waging war on the Olympians.
The mortals would be left alone to their stupidity.
For now, there were too many impure souls in the mythological world.
Restoring balance would be much easier now that Perseus was gone.
Yes, yes, they would make the world a clean slate, and liberate the Greek mythological world of their sins.
The man prepared to launch himself into the air, but the problem was, he didn't know where the Council was imprisoned.
"FUCK YOU AETHER!"
AN: Minerva is actually still the goddess of wisdom and strategy in Roman Mythology, so she really isn't that much of a downgrade from Athena. New member of the Council of Seven? The cobalt daimon is here. Give me your feedback on the prison escape scene, I always wanted to make one.

Edit: Diana separated herself from Artemis, as the more powerful gods can do that. Sorry about not explaining it.
