Chris was sitting in some old office inside of the prison, in front of him was a table with a tape recorder on top of it and to his right, there was a dust-covered crate. Something was off about the usually cheery host, however, he was wearing the same outfit he wore for all of his tv appearances, but his skin was as pale as a ghost and his normally well-kept black hair was now a mess. Chris looked over at the tape recorder and pressed play, causing the recorder to let out "Audio Interview, one of fourteen."
"Alright, let's start out simple." Chris' voice came from the recorder, "What's your name."
The person Chris was interviewing replied with a calm tone, "Aztaroth Matthews."
"No, it isn't." Chris interrupted Aztaroth before he could add anything, "Your name is Matthew Matthews."
Aztaroth let out a groan, "Don't refer to me by that commoner name." His voice sounded annoyed by Chris correcting him, "My name is Aztaroth, not Matthew."
"Right?" You could hear the sarcasm in Chris' voice, "Now for question two, why are you here?"
"You forced me to join this show." Aztaroth snarkily replied, "That a good enough answer for you?"
"No, I want to know why you were sent to jail," Chris sounded angry, "Don't try to be smart with me ever again."
"Why I was arrested? That's easy, underage gambling."
"Ok, and as for the final question," Chris paused for a bit, "How do you feel about subjecting others to life in prison?"
Aztaroth stayed silent for a good few seconds, "...We're done here." You could hear a chair being pulled out in the audio, "I'm not answering that." You could now hear someone trying to walk away, only to be slapped across the face.
"Answer the goddamn question!" Chris shouted at Aztaroth.
You could hear Aztaroth growling in anger, "...I could care less if I have to imprison someone else if it means I get to leave this hellhole, now can I take my leave?"
"You may…"
The tape recorder stopped for a bit, before playing "Audio Interview, two of fourteen."
"Name please." Chris got straight to the point.
"Edna Cullen! Edna confused, though, why is the pale tv star talking to a box?"
"I'm recording the interview, Bella," Chris let out an annoyed sigh, "Why were you sent to jail?"
"The big guy in blue said that Edna killed a man by hitting him!" Bella cheerfully said, "But Edna made sure he wasn't too red, just a bit!"
"Right, and how do you feel about subjecting other people to live in prison?"
"Edna no know what sub-jec-ting means, but she thinks it must be good!" Edna panted happily.
"Well, 'Edna' the interview's over."
"Audio Interview, three of fourteen."
"What's your nam-"
"Clover Warrington, oh the despair of being here is perfect!" A female voice cut Chris off.
"Don't you dare interrupt me!" Chris snapped at Clover, before regaining his composure, "Why were you arrested?"
"An officer found my notebook of all the things I wanted to do…" Edna paused before sighing, "The feeling of watching my plans crumble was truly beautiful!"
"Now finally, how do you feel about subjecting others to a life in prison?"
"So they can share the despair I so desperately reach for!? I'd do it as soon as possible, doesn't even matter who!"
"Alright, thank you for your time."
"Audio Interview, four of fourteen."
"Name?"
"Davy Armadeus, the best rockstar in the world!" An excited voice shouted.
"Why were you arrested?"
"Arrested? Nonono, Davy was never arrested! Davy is just having a minor setback! After all, it wasn't Davy's fault that that police officer kept trying to fine him for being too loud!"
Chris sighed, "Now, how do you feel about subjecting others to live in prison."
"Hmm," Davy thought for a bit, "Davy would feel a bit upset at what he had to do to win the season, but if he can see his bandmates again, it'd be worth it."
"Alright, you can take your leave."
"Audio Interview, five of fourteen."
"Name, please."
"Deena Loveberry," An enthusiastic voice replied, "A prison interview? That's a first."
"Why were you arrested?" Chris ignored Deena's comment.
"If we're being honest with each other," You could hear Deena scratching her head, "I've been arrested so many times that the reasonings for each individual arrest is pretty hazy, sorry, I can't answer that one."
Chris groaned, "Well if you're not gonna answer that, I guess we can move on to the final question, how do you feel about subjecting others to live in prison if it means you get freedom?"
"Pssh, I won't have to do that!" Deena cockily replied, "I'll be out of this prison before you can say 'jailbreak'."
"You're setting yourself up for disappointment Loveberry…"
"Audio Interview, six of fourteen."
"Name?"
"George Jackson, I wouldn't be surprised if you've heard of me before, I'm a pretty big deal."
"Nope, that name doesn't ring a bell." Chris sneered before going to the next question, "Why were you arrested?"
An angry growl came from George, "Some guy framed me for beating up his buddy after a game, of course he was too much of a coward to face me."
"Alright then, lastly, are you prepared to leave others rotting in prison for life, just so you can win?"
"Of course I am, I've never met em before so why would I care?"
"Heh," Chris let out a small chuckle, "You may be interesting…"
"Audio Interview, seven of fourteen."
"Oh jesus christ," Chris sounded very annoyed, "What's your name, clown?"
"Giuseppe Bilancia, but everyone I know calls me Picollo." A very unenthuesiastic voice replied.
"Well, Picollo, what are you here for?"
Picollo murmured something to himself.
"I can't hear you."
Picollo again murmured to himself but a little bit louder this time.
"Speak up already." Chris started to lose his patience.
"I got arrested…" Picollo groaned, "For being too unfunny." It was an obvious lie, but Chris humored him.
"That wasn't so hard, now was it?" Chris mocked the clown, "Anyways, are you prepared to subject others to life in prison if it means you gain freedom."
"Yes," Picollo answered very quickly, "Somehow this place is worse than the circus!"
"Well of course, it's not like you deserve better…"
"Audio Interview, eight of fourteen."
"What's your name?" Chris asked, only to get no reply.
Both Chris and the person he was interviewing sat in silence for a good minute, before the noise of Chris kicking the other person in the leg played through the recorder, "Talk!"
"Agh! Jacque Metoyer!" Jacque yelped from the pain of Chris' kick, "What the hell is the matter with you?"
"Good… now... What did you get arrested for?"
"I was in the wrong place at the wrong time." Jacque replied honestly, not wanting to get kicked again.
"Lastly, would you subject the other contestants to life in prison if it means you'd be granted freedom?"
Jacque thought for a second, "Probably, sucks for them I know, but I'd like to leave this hellhole."
"And that's our talk, you can go now."
"Alrigh-" Jacque stopped talking before staying dead silent, "Wait, you're no-"
Before Jacque could finish, the sound of something being slammed into a table played into the recorder, right before it played the next interview.
"Audio Interview, nine of fourteen."
"Now, what's your name?"
"Jade" Jade dryly replied.
"Jade what?" Chris' voice had a very apparent tone of confusion.
"Just Jade," Jade sighed, "I don't know my last name."
"Well, Jade, what were you arrested for?"
"Someone set me up for stealing a jewel from a museum," Jade sighed, "Cops got me in a matter of minutes."
"Ok then, now, would you subject the other contestants to life in prison if it meant you could escape."
"No." Jade kept a calm tone, "I'll find a different way."
"There are no other ways…"
"Audio Interview, ten of fourteen."
"Name?"
"Monica Rosette Lee…" Monica kept her cool, "But you can call me Mon."
"Ok, Mon, what were you arrested for?"
"Me?" Monica snapped her fingers to remember what happened, "I don't know the specifics of it, but my sister pulled this illegal prank and they thought I did it."
"So your sister threw you under the bus? That makes me wonder, would you throw others under the bus if it meant that you could leave here?"
"What?" Monica stopped, "I… I'll think about that…"
"You'd better, this show is starting soon…"
"Audio Interview, eleven of fourteen."
"What the? What's your name?"
"Nyohoho! I'm Quinn Potter!" A very excited voice replied.
"What did you get arrested for?" Chris already sounded like he was having none of it.
"Setting fire to some random restaurant, Nyohoho, t'isn't true though, I learned to love fire after getting arrested!"
"Sure you did, lastly, would you subject others to be permanently stuck in prison if you could escape by doing it?"
"Nyooooh! How will I make ships if they're in jail?" Quinn cried.
"I think that'll be the least of your worries…"
"Audio Interview, twelve of fourteen."
"Alright, name?"
"R-Relinda Temple…" Relinda nervously started, "Please tell me this show is some sort of sick joke?"
"'Fraid not," Chris replied with a cold tone, "Second question, what were you arrested for?"
"Someone set the restaurant I work at on fire," Relinda's voice trembled, "And I was the one who ended up being punished for it."
"Now… are you prepared to leave your fellow contestants to rot in this prison just so you can escape?"
"No!" Relinda shouted, "Why would I do something like that!?"
"Because it's you or them…"
"Audio Interview, thirteen of fourteen."
"What's your name?" Chris spoke over a person who was softly sobbing.
"Rival… Rival Seizon…" Rival spoke through sadness.
"What were you arrested for?"
"Oh god, I…" Rival was struggling to speak, "I put my brother into a comatose state! A gang attacked him when he was out getting a job and he got severely injured! It's all my fault, if I had just taken his place he'd be awake right now!"
"I didn't ask for your life story." Chris rudely replied to Rival, "But onto the third question, would you subject others to life in prison if it meant you could be given freedom."
"No!" Rival slammed his fist onto the table, "I'm not to judge others, not after what I did!"
"Well, this interview is over," Chris sneered, "Clearly you aren't gonna do much but be super sad all the time…"
"Audio Interview, fourteen of fourteen."
"Name?" Chris asked the final interviewee.
"Romeo, I bet ya you're one of those city kids whose never heard a name quite like that!" Romeo snarkily answered Chris' question.
"I could care less about your name, I'm only doing this because it's mandatory." Chris sighed, "Now, what were you arrested for."
"I had stolen a chicken that my family could eat," Romeo acted as if he didn't break any laws, "What's so wrong with that?"
Chris just sighed in annoyance before moving onto the final question, "Would you sacrifice others to life in prison if it meant freedom for you?"
"I dunno 'bout that." Romeo's voice was filled with uncertainty, "I'd have to meet them first."
"Yes…" Chris ominously replied, "They are quite the characters…"
The recorder finally stopped playing audio interviews, but it was now clear that Chris was studying each and every on of the contestants just from their interviews. Chris was about to restart the recorder when Chef walked into the office he was in.
"An intern said you needed me for something?" Chef raised an eyebrow, figuring that Chris was gonna ask for something stupid.
"Yes," Chris got up, before heading over to the dust-covered crate, "This box right here is filled with old treasures from inmates back in the day, I need you to pawn this off to a buyer that I contacted."
"That's all you needed? Why didn't you have an intern do it?" Chef was annoyed that he'd have to spend his time pawning off some old junk.
"Because…" Chris thought of an excuse, "I don't trust the interns with priceless artifacts, we need this season to go according to plan Chef! Now go sell that chest!" Chris barked at his friend, who picked up the chest and left the room.
Instead of going back to the desk and relistening to the recordings, Chris waited a good few minutes to make sure Chef didn't return to the room. After verifying that Chef was gone, Chris went to under the desk, where he pulled out a bunch of candles and a mat. Chris laid the mat and candles on the ground, while also making all the candles were in a very specific order.
Chris pulled out a lighter and began to light the candles, after lighting them all, he stood in the center of the mat and cleared his throat.
"Qui habitant in tenebris animam meam possident
Profer creaturam purae desperationis et odii
Praecide compedes continentes eas et ad regnum mortale redire permittas
Coniuro enim Salem, filium Asmodei, ut iterum vivat!"
Chris shouted the poem at the top of his lungs, but nothing happened. So Chris repeated the poem again, but this time it was louder than before, but still, there was no effect.
"QUI HABITANT IN TENEBRIS ANIMAM MEAM POSSIDENT
PROFER CREATURAM PURAE DESPERATIONIS ET ODII
PRAECIDE COMPEDES CONTINENTES EAS ET AD REGNUM MORTALE REDIRE PERMITTAS
CONIURO ENIM SALEM, FILIUM ASMODEI, UT ITERUM VIVAT!"
Chris shouted as loud as he physically could, this time something did happen. Chris was floating in the air, a loud howling echoed throughout the room, before two black claws poked straight out from Chris' chest.
Chris stayed where he was, smirking as the claws started to show more and more of a body. After a short while, a figure tore itself straight out from Chris' chest, but strangely, Chris wasn't injured in any way.
The figure had dark red skin and pure black eyes, with no whites in them. The figure was 6'4" and very muscular and well dressed, that wasn't an understatement either, the figure was wearing a black vest over a white undershirt and black dress pants, he also had black shin-high boots to finish the outfit off. The figure had short blond hair that was combed back and even a small goatee. If it wasn't clear before, the horns the figure had confirmed that they were a demon of some kind. The demon got up and looked around the room.
