Chapter 1

It's the day after the All Valley and Johnny's head is spinning. Miguel gone!? How will he even start to find him? And Robby! They finally made peace. How will he ever get his life together!?

"Johnny I-I d-don't know where to start!" cried Carmen.

"Listen I'm going to find Miguel I promise," Johnny said. "I should start getting ready to go- "

"Go where! God knows where he's going! I have no clue where his father lives!" Carmen sobbed.

Johnny tries hard to think. Nothing. "Maybe a Coors could help," he thinks as he goes to grab one. Only to have it slapped out of his hand by Yaya.

"No drink! Find Miguel!" yelled the grandmother.

Johnny sighed as Carmen and her mother glared at him. He pulls out his phone and tries calling Miguel. Voicemail. He tries calling Hawk. Voicemail. He doesn't know anybody else he could call to ask about Miguel. Unless… He reluctantly starts dialing the last person he thought he would be asking about Miguel.

"Johnny! Nice to see you striking first I was just going to call you about- "

"Cobra Kai can wait LaRusso! This is more important" Johnny interrupted.

"Wait what's going on?" asked Daniel.

"Miguel's gone."

"What!? Miguel gone! Where!?" exclaimed Daniel. "My god Johnny how are we gonna find him!?"

"Miguel's gone!" cried Sam. She already felt terrible now she doesn't have Miguel.

"Listen Johnny you better come over. Bring anyone who might know something I gotta go." Daniel said ending the call and turning to Sam. He could not bear the look of sadness and worry on her face. "Sam I'm sorry. We're going to find him."

Daniel took a step to comfort her, but she turned on her heel and ran to her room. He heard her bedroom door slam like a gunshot. He was lost for words. Amanda walked into the room with a concerned look on her face. She overheard what was going on.

"What a mess Daniel. I have no idea how we can help to fix this. Even Anthony seems off," stated Amanda. "He barely spoke last night or this morning. Something must have happened at the tournament. Maybe it didn't help that you kicked him out of his bedroom for Chozen to sleep in"

Amanda nodded towards Chozen who was coming down the steps shaking his head disapprovingly at Sam's door slamming. He arrived early in the morning from Okinawa and was hoping for some rest.

"American houses are so loud" Chozen grumbled as he walked into the kitchen.

Johnny opened the door of Carmen's apartment to find Robby sitting in the courtyard. He felt unbalanced and wanted to see if he could spend the day with his father.

"Robby? What's going on? Is everything okay?" asked Johnny with a concerned look.

"As good as it can be. Just wondering if we could talk is all," Robby answered.

"Listen Robby I'd love to talk but I need to go to the LaRusso's. Maybe you'd want to tag along?" teased Johnny with a smirk.

Robby chuckled. "No thanks, this is awkward enough. Why are you going anyways?"

"Miguel ran off to find his dipshit dad," Johnny said.

Robby looked up to the sky with a long sigh. He did exactly what Kreese and Silver taught him. He got inside Miguel's head and put him off balance. He thought he was done causing trouble and now his father's champion is running away.

"Shit! I need to tell you something, dad."

Miguel stepped out of the bus into the hot, humid air of Mexico City. He knew his dad lived somewhere in the city. It was just a matter of finding him. Miguel felt a twinge of regret taking such radial action, but just like Johnny taught him, he was going all in. He needed to do this for himself. He was done playing the pawn in a 40-year-old Karate War in the Valley. It was time to find out where he came from.
