Day 10: Cosplay

Small note; The kwami-swap in 'Reflekdoll' never happened in this, otherwise Adrien would recognize her right away.

Just because Chloe kept throwing extravagant parties and inviting everyone in school—even the people she hated the most—didn't mean she was becoming a better person. She just liked to show off and claim that she was throwing them because she was 'so nice,' only to act like her usual rotten self during and after.

Plus, she loved creating an excuse to dress up as Queen Bee in front of people. Hence, this party was a costume party.

Even if she couldn't stand Chloe or the things she did to make herself look better, Marinette really wanted to go to the party. She was invited after all. She had a fun idea for a new costume and this party was the best excuse to make and wear it.

Another thing she looked forward to; Adrien would be there too.

Marinette didn't know if she could pull it off how she wanted to, and in front of Adrien, but Tikki had once told her to try role playing a super cool character if she was nervous, so that was what she was going to try. Luckily, the person she was dressing as for the party was one of the coolest people she knew.

Adrien was excited to be going to the party too. He looked forward to any chance to have fun with all his friends. Unfortunately, his father wouldn't let his son attend anything dressed as something 'ridiculous.' He could only go in an outfit approved of by him. And the only one he approved of was a tuxedo that made him look like James Bond.

As much as Adrien would have rather dressed as something a little more outrageous, it would do. It was certainly better than not going at all.

When he arrived in the main ballroom at the hotel, it was alive with festivities he had dreamed about. The music was loud, tables were full of foods that weren't entirely healthy, and everyone looked like they were actually glad to be there.

Chloe was in her custom-made Queen Bee costume. She had another less pretty bee-girl costume made for Sabrina so she could pass as her worker-bee sidekick.

Alya was dressed as Majestia; and so she and her boyfriend could sort of match, she convinced Nino to be Knight Owl.

Even Zoe was there. She chose to dress as another superhero, but one closer to home; Ladybug.

"Glad you could make it, bro," Nino said as the blonde model approached the three of them.

"Me too. You guys look great, by the way. Although, I'm more surprised you didn't want to be Ladybug and Chat Noir," he said to the couple.

"I couldn't get a Ladybug costume in time. And I couldn't ask Marinette to make it for me. She had her hands full making her own," Alya replied.

Adrien wasn't surprised to hear that. Marinette was so talented. He couldn't wait to see the sort of spectacular costume she had made for herself.

Then he turned to Chloe's half-sister. "Well, you definitely make a great Ladybug too, Zoe." Her costume was seamless. It was probably Chloe's old one which she stopped wearing after becoming Queen Bee. She wasn't wearing a bluenette wig but her short blonde hair was up in twin pigtails with red ribbons. The pink streak in her hair was actually a nice touch with her red suit and mask. "But do you have a Chat Noir accompanying you?"

"Sort of. I met one coming in and we've been hanging together," she said with a grin, her eyes looking around like she was looking for this person.

"There you are, milady," a familiar voice said from not far from their small group. "I go to use the litter box and then you disappear on me-ow?"

Adrien turned his head and was greeted by a sight he couldn't dream up even if he had tried.

A girl with her bluenette hair in a bun, wearing a black spandex suit with some light green linings around her legs, arms, neck, and waist. She also wore a black mask, a black belt tail, black cat ears on her head, and there was a thin-strapped tiny purse across her chest but the purse at her hip looked like a silver cylinder with a green paw print. Just like his baton.

He couldn't think of anybody but one person that could be.

"Marinette?" he asked, squinting at the girl as she approached them and stood next to Zoe.

"It's Lady Noir," she corrected him with a sassy grin. "But I'm glad I still look fur-miliar to some people." Everyone laughed at her pun. Adrien wanted to laugh too but he was too stunned at the moment to let it out.

Marinette was dressed like him. Or, like Chat Noir. And she was speaking in cat puns, like he does.

What dimension was he in?

"And she sure looks feline, tonight," Alya added, making them all laugh again.

"Yeah. That's a great costume. You made it yourself?" Adrien asked, finally finding his voice.

"Fur-real, yes I did," Marinette giggled. Then she turned around with a flourish. "You like it?"

Adrien took an extra second to admire her craftsmanship again. "I don't know what I find more impressive; the costume or the puns," he joked, making her and the others chuckle.

"Let's move over to the refreshments table. I'm getting dehydrated," Nino said.

The five of them walked over to the end of the long snack table where the beverages were located. There was a big punch bowl there with a server ladling it out. When everyone had a cup, they drank.

"Mmmm, this punch is good," Adrien said.

"Really? Wouldn't you prefer a meow-tini. Shaken, not stirred," Marinette said to him, barely containing her own laughter. Alya and Zoe laughed. Nino was unfortunately, still drinking his punch and spit a bit up when she said it. Adrien laughed too; at her joke/pun and Nino's spit-take.

"You're hilarious, Mar-I mean, Lady Noir," Adrien said to her. He already thought she was funny without even needing to try, but he was pleasantly surprised how good she was when she was trying.

Marinette just smiled and glanced off to the side, a bashful look on her slightly blushing face.

Just then, a group of three girls from another class came up to the group. "Zoe, Marinette," one of the girls, who was dressed as Harley Quinn said to the duo. "We love your costumes. Can we each get pictures with you guys?" she asked, her two friends nodding with her.

"Sure," Zoe smiled and shrugged. Why not? Then she turned to Marinette. "Shall we, chaton?" she asked her 'partner,' offering her her arm.

"We shall, bugaboo," the bluenette said, taking her arm. "Please, paw-don us," she said to the others before she and Zoe followed the three other girls over to a nearby wall.

"Wow," Adrien said when he was alone with Alya and Nino, watching them taking pictures with the girls just a few feet away. "I had no idea Marinette liked cat puns so much."

"Oh, she doesn't," Alya told him with a chuckle, which only puzzled Adrien. "But if she was going to be Chat Noir tonight, she wanted to be as authentic as possible. So I helped her look some up online."

"But, if she doesn't like cat puns, why be Chat Noir at all?" Adrien asked.

"I don't know," Alya shrugged, her attention on their friends. "Guess she's just a big fan."

As she and Zoe posed for pictures with those girls, Adrien couldn't stop staring at her. Sure, Marinette's costume was fabulous and she looked so adorable in it, but he was thinking more about all the thought she put into not just the costume but her performance as him.

Wow. Marinette's a big fan of him as Adrien the model, and as Chat Noir the super hero.

Well, he was becoming a big fan of hers too.

I can't believe I was able to cross a cat pun with a James Bond reference. I'm so proud of myself.

See u tomorrow =^.^=
