I love making song parody fics. I have a nice little collection of them for Miraculous too. U can find it in my profile.

I do not own the song used; Tell Me That You Love Me Anyway from Victorious.

Day 17: Piano

Everyone at College Francoise Dupont was excited for the school's talent show.

They could do anything they were good at; either by themselves or with other fellow students.

Adrien saw this as a chance to show off his piano playing skills to his classmates. Finally, a fun and friendly competition where he could play whatever and however he wanted.

But the way he truly wanted to play was not a solo. He was sick of playing alone. He wanted to do a duet. There was no one he wanted to share an act with more than Marinette.

So, when he heard that his bluenette princess planned on singing in the show, he immediately volunteered to be her piano accompanist. Marinette seemed nervous when he asked but she eventually responded with a very enthusiastic 'yes!'

But that wasn't all. While they were picking a song to perform, Adrien also agreed to not only play the piano, but sing with her. An actual duet.

Adrien couldn't have been more excited.

Until—like everything else in his life—his father had to butt in and take control.

Gabriel didn't like the idea of his son doing such a soulful song with a female classmate. Not to mention, he'd be singing. He made Adrien practice piano constantly, but he'd never had him take any singing lessons. Because of that fact, he was not confident Adrien would do well in that regard. The fashion icon was worried Adrien would embarrass himself, his image, and the image of the company.

He'd rather Adrien play a classical piece—something he regularly plays while practicing at home—no singing, and no one else with him on stage. Just him. Alone.

To say the least, Adrien was not happy when his father had explained all of this. Then, he was even more so when he found out about a rule that didn't allow students to be in more than one act in the show. If Adrien did a solo then a duet with Marinette, he'd be doubling his chances of winning. And that wasn't fair. He could only do one, and his father wasn't going to let him be in the show at all if he didn't do the act he approved of.

He felt horrible, promising Marinette that he'd be her partner in this and then bailing on her just a few days before the show. She said that she understood and wasn't mad at him, but he could see the disappointment in her clear blue bell eyes. He hated that sad look. And he hated himself more for being the cause of it.

The only thing that would make this right for the both of them would be if he found some other way to perform with her.

Lucky for him, he knew the perfect way.

That night, under the cover of the clear black sky, Chat Noir made his way to the bakery he visited several times a week. Fortuitously, Marinette was right there on her balcony with her music sheets in her hands. He could hear the unmistakable lyrics and notes of the song they'd been practicing for the past week coming from her.

"You sound beautiful," he said from behind her.

Marinette jumped a bit but when she turned and saw her kitty on their chimney, she relaxed.

"Chat? What are you going here?" she asked. He had told her just the other day that he'd be busy tonight and most likely wouldn't be able to come over.

Chat smoothly jumped down and landed in front of her and leaned against her railing. "I was drawn here by the sound of a siren's song," he said to her charmingly. Marinette blushed but turned away, a bit bashful at the compliment. She hadn't sung in front of anyone more than family and a few close friends in years. Chat smirked at her before his eyes trailed down to the music sheets in her hands. "You practicing for something?" he asked curiously.

He was glad she had the sheets with her so he had a perfect excuse to ask that.

Marinette turned back to him. "My school's holding a talent show and I was going to sing, but-" she paused, remembering the upsetting conversation she had had earlier that day.

"But what?" he asked, concern in his voice.

"Well, a friend of mine promised he'd sing with me while playing the piano and I was really excited to do this with him," she said happily, but then her smile went away as she continued. "But then his father just told him that he couldn't. That he had to play a solo that he wanted him to do," she said, annoyed and a bit bitter.

"Well, that's not fair. To you or him." That was how he had felt about this whole situation. He'd just hadn't been able to voice it before.

"Exactly," she replied. "So now, I have to sing the song by myself and just have a recording of the music playing on the speakers," she sighed heavily, leaning her elbows on the railing and looking down.

She was clearly very unhappy that she had to do her act by herself now. It was like she didn't want to do it at all anymore because it wouldn't be as fun doing it alone. And he didn't blame her. He felt the exact same way.

Then he smiled. "Maybe not," he told her. Marinette quickly turned back to him. "I don't know if I ever told you this, but I've been playing the piano for years. And I happen to have a great voice."

After getting permission from the school—since, as far as they knew, Chat Noir wasn't a student there—he was officially approved of to be in the show with Marinette.

Finally, after practicing with Marinette as Chat for the rest of the week, it was the night of the show.

Adrien performed his classical solo and got a big applause from the audience. Natalie was in the front row with his father's face on a tablet—of course. By the look on his face, he seemed to think he did a good job.

Okay. Father was satisfied. Now it was Adrien's turn.

Since two acts required a piano, they scheduled Marinette and Chat to go right after Adrien. So they were the last act of the night.

After leaving the stage, Adrien ran to the bathroom to transform. Then he met with Marinette backstage. A minute later, he was back on the stage and sitting at the piano once again. But this time, with a mic stand next to him, angled down to be at level with his mouth, and Marinette was there with him, dressed in a stunning pink dress that made her look like a classy lounge singer from the 1940s and a mic in her hand.

When the courtyard was quiet, Chat started to play.

Chat: Ah, ah, oh

Chat + Marinette: Yeah, Yeah

(Marinette was leaned over the piano on her front, looking at Chat from across the piano top)

Marinette:

The situation turns around

Enough to figure out

That someone else has let you down

Chat + Marinette: So many times, I don't know why

(Marinette raised up to stand normal and started walking around the stage and staring at the crowd)

Marinette:

But I know we can make it

As long as you say it

So tell me that you love me

Yeah!

Chat + Marinette:

And tell me that I take your breath away

And maybe if you take one more

Then I would know for sure

There's nothing left to say

Marinette:

Tell me that you love me anyway

So tell me that you love me anyway

(Marinette stood in front of the piano and looked at Chat again)

Chat + Marinette: Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh

(Marinette walked away from the piano, down the small set of steps to the floor of the courtyard and closer to the seated audience members)

Marinette:

Waking up beside yourself

And what you feel inside is being shared with someone else

(Marinette gestured between Alya and Nino, who were sitting together at the end of the second row. The two stared at each other lovingly and held hands before looking back at their friend still walking around as she sang)

Chat + Marinette: Nowhere to hide, I don't know why

Marinette:

But I know we can make it

As long as you say it

Chat + Marinette:

So tell me that you love me

Yeah!

(Marinette started walking back toward the stage)

And tell me that I take your breath away

And maybe if you take one more

Then I would know for sure

There's nothing left to say

Marinette:

Tell me that you love me anyway

(Marinette climbed the stairs up to the stage again. There was a short stool between the stairs and the piano, allowing Marinette to step up and sit on the piano. She looked directly at Chat again, like she was singing more to him)

Show me, look what we found

Chat + Marinette: It's turning around every day

Marinette: I can hear what you say

Chat + Marinette:

Now I know why

I know we can make it.

(Marinette hopped off the piano and walked around it until she was beside Chat. Then she sat on the bench beside him)

If you tell me that you love me

Yeah!

And tell me that I take your breath away

And maybe if you take one more…

(The two turned their heads to look at each other. Their faces were much closer than they thought they'd be. Both blushing, they snapped their heads away and continued the song)

So tell me that you love me

Yeah!

(Marinette got up from the bench and walked around the piano from the back until she reached the stool again, stepped up, and sat on the piano)

And tell me that I take your breath away

And maybe if you take one more

Then I would know for sure

Marinette:

There's nothing left to say

(Marinette leaned down on her right side, propping herself up on her elbow, and stared at Chat one more time)

But tell me…that you love me…anyway.

As Chat hit the final notes of the song, the two lost themselves in each other's eyes. Until, they were snapped back to reality by the audience's deafening applause.

Chat stood up from the bench, went around the piano and offered his hand out to Marinette. She sat up right before gladly taking it and allowing him to help her step down onto the stage beside him as they both took a bow, their hands held together with their fingers interlocked.

Sorry. 18th and 19th are being skipped (I don't watch Pokemon). So I'll see u again on the 20th. =^.^=
