You're about to see what I meant when I said some things haven't aged well.
It had been three days since Eda was petrified. Luz hasn't left her room, no food, no water, nothing could get her out of there. She laid on her sleeping bag, bags under her bloodshot eyes. She's been plagued with nightmares since she failed to save Eda. She just laid there with Eda's staff in one hand and gripping her cape in the other. Outside, Kiki looked through binoculars. She opened a mirror and saw Belos.
"She remains in the house, what are your orders, Sir?"
"You may attack." Belos said, "Make sure there are no survivors and burn the house."
"Consider it done, Sir." Kiki said, "Attack the house, that infernal demon can't hold back the entire Coven."
Luz felt the house shake and ran to the window. She saw a massive army charging at the house.
"N-no." She said.
Luz ran out of the room and almost tripped over King.
"King! We have to get out of here!" Luz said.
"Luz what's going on?!" King asked.
"The Coven is attacking the house! They probably want to capture me and execute me! We have to get out of here!"
King looked at the staircase and then back at Luz.
"No, we won't, you will." King said.
"What?"
"Luz, you need to get out of here. Hooty won't be able to hold them off forever, and when that happens, they'll be able to get to you. I can provide a distraction in order for you to escape."
"King, p-p-please. I already lost Eda, I can't lose you too." Luz said, "Besides, how will you be able to distract them?"
King grabbed his collar and looked at Luz.
"Luz, there's a lot you don't know about me. I'm no king of demons, I just say that in order to forget that I'm the last of my kind." He said, "This collar is used to hide who I am, to prevent me from being killed. I promised Eda that I would never take it off... but desperate time call for desperate measures."
He pulled the collar off and Luz watched as a black glow started to show around King. He grew and his body changed. His arms got longer, his claws got sharper, his horns grew and turned into antlers, his skull grew and became disfigured, his legs grew and he towered over Luz. He let out a shriek that was deep and caused glass to crack. Luz looked at him, surprised.
"Y-y-you are... you're a Wendigo?" She asked.
King pointed down the hall and spoke in a deep voice that contradicted the high pitched one that Luz was used to.
"Go!"
King turned around and charged down the stairs. Luz ran into Eda's weapons room. She grabbed a sword and a knife and then opened the window.
"You ready, Owlbert?"
Owlbert nodded and opened his wings. Luz jumped out the window and Owlbert flew away from the house. Kiki saw this and pointed at her.
"Fire at her!"
The guards that weren't fighting against King and Hooty aimed and fired their arrows at her. Luz tried to avoid them, but three hit her. One in the left shoulder, one in the leg, and one near her hip. Luz screamed in pain, but kept flying. King heard her scream and clamped his jaws on one that hit her. He swallowed the body and then grabbed the other ones that hit her and threw them into trees. He roared at them and proceeded to attack more. Luz flew for a couple hours, laying on the staff, only holding on with one arm. She crashed on the knee and closed her eyes, laying in the cold snow.
