The baby slitherbeast got backed into a corner by a Snow Cat, a massive feline animal that has teeth about a foot long. Standing at around nine feet tall, it's a top predator, that resembles a white tiger from the human worlds. It growled at the baby as it moved towards it. That ended when a spear hit the side of the feline. The spear didn't penetrate the skin, but it angered the cat. It growled at this and looked to who threw it.
"If you want to mess with MY baby, you have to mess with me!" Luz said.
There was a reason she went back to her cave. Her spears and arrows were made of wood and stone, they wouldn't have the power or strength to make it through the skin, but the axe she got the other day would do the trick. Luz ran at it, the axe tight in her hands. The cat ran at her and Luz slid under it. She's been fighting to survive here for a year, she can use any ice to her advantage. She used the axe and hit the cat in the leg, creating a large gash. The cat growled in pain as Luz pulled the axe out of the leg.
"And here I thought I would use this to get firewood." Luz said.
Luz dodged the cat's attack and used the axe to hit the cat in the eye. Luz pulled it out and swung the axe upwards, hitting it in the neck. The axe hit the cat's veins and it began bleeding out. Luz held the blood covered axe in her hand as the cat ran away. She could track it down another day, right now she needed to make sure the baby was okay. She walked over and picked her up.
"Are you okay, little one?"
The slitherbeast licked Luz, making her laugh. Luz carried her back to the cave and set her down on the bed.
"You know, this cave is getting a little small. If I'm going to take care of you, I'm going to need an actual house." Luz said, grabbing an arrow and carving plans into the cave wall, "And I'm going to need to make sure that I get a stable for you when you get a little bit older."
The slitherbeast walked up to Luz and rubbed against her leg. Luz reached down and pet her.
"I'm going to need to name you." Luz said, "How about... Blizzard?"
Blizzard jumped up and down in joy, making Luz chuckle, the first one in almost a year. In the Emperor's Castle, Kikimora walked up to Emperor Belos.
"My Lord, I just received word that poachers have recently gone to a Healer's Center."
"I see, and I should care why?"
"They... were on the Knee when they were attacked."
Belos sat straight up and looked at her.
"Send a platoon to the Knee, if this is who I think it is, then you are to kill her where she stands." Belos said.
