Luz put the bloody covered needle on a tray that sat on the table next to her. Also on the tray, was several knives, thread, sewing needles, and a jar filled with formaldehyde and her heart.
"I'm so glad I learned a numbing spell from Eda." Luz said, "Good thing I still have you Owlbert, I never would've been able to do this without you."
Luz used her knife to cut the remaining thread and stand up. She stumbled a little and felt pain in her chest. She forced the pain down and started walking.
"Who knew performing a heart transplant on yourself would be dangerous." Luz said, looking at the blood covered tools and surrounding area, "I'll need to clean that up."
Luz put her hand out and made a circle motion with her finger. A dark orange light followed and made a spell circle. The items had an orange glow around them and started lifting off the ground. Her hand starts shaking and they drop to the ground. Luz fell to her knees and started breathing heavily.
"Alright, I should rest for a few days, let my body heal and adjust to this." Luz said, looking at the mess, "Good thing I didn't do that on my heart. Should probably get that somewhere cold... that won't attack it."
She started picking her stuff up and putting it away, before going upstairs and getting into her bed. A nice King sized bed, took her almost two years to make but it was worth it.
"This is better than any bed I've ever been in." Luz said, pulling the blanket over herself.
At the Emperor's Castle, Belos was learning of the news about his latest group he sent to the Knee.
"More dead." He said, "If this is really who I think it is, then I need someone who she won't have the guts to kill."
That's when an idea came to his mind. Later, the trio walked in and bowed.
"Emperor Belos." They said.
"Ah, good, I have a special task for you three." Belos said, "As you may know, I offered the Human friend of yours a place in the training school you three were at. She gladly accepted it, unfortunately, a wild witch heard of it and attacked the Owl House and killed her and her mentor. This witch is now back and is attacking every guard I send to the Knee."
"What do you ask of us?"
"I want you to bring her to me, alive, so I may dish out proper punishment." Belos said, "If they have a helmet or mask on, leave it on, I don't think they've earned the right to have their face shown. Amity, Willow, Agustus, do you accept this task?"
The three felt anger at this witch, wanting to bring them to justice for what they did to them, for who they took from them. There was only one answer to this question.
"Yes, Emperor Belos."
