The next day, Amity woke up with Luz's arms wrapped around her. Since Luz only had one bed, it was either sleeping with Luz, or sleeping in her chair, and King already called dibs on the chair. Amity couldn't help but blush, as it's been a dream of hers to share a bed with Luz. She slowly opened Luz's arms and was about to get out of bed when she heard a voice.
"No."
Amity looked over and saw Luz, looking at her.
"Please, I've been alone for so long, sleeping with someone else... it's nice."
Amity got back into the bed and Luz rested her head on Amity's chest, listening to her heartbeat, something she hasn't heard in so long. It was comforting.
"So, what's going on today?" Amity asked.
"One, I teach you to survive here. Two, I make a plan to get close to Eda so I can do the spell."
"Spell?" Amity asked.
She knew about the glyphs that Luz used, but she didn't recall any time about Luz using a real spell.
"It's a... long story." Luz said, "Let's just... stay here."
The two laid there for a while, while elsewhere, Willow and Gus were moving with the rest of the Coven squad.
"There have been reports of civilians seeing the prisoner going towards the Knee." A Guard said, "It's best to wait before striking, as that witch is still on the Knee."
"Which means the place is extra dangerous." Another said, "We need to prepare, if we do this correctly, then we can take both of them in at once."
Gus and Willow were more focused on trying to figure out where Amity was. If she was on the Knee with the Prisoner, then was she using the prisoner to help her bring the witch in? There were questions they needed to solve and they were getting more confused by the minute. On the Knee, Amity was practicing with a bow. She pulled it back and let it go... it flew past the target and bounced off a rock. The arrowhead broke off and Amity sighed.
"How does Luz do this so well?"
She got another arrow and pulled it back. An arrow hit the target, bullseye, but it wasn't Amity's... she didn't even let the string go yet. Amity lowered the bow her and looked behind her.
"You need a lot of practice." Luz said, getting another arrow ready, "In order to use a bow, you need to be careful and precise. It takes a long time to master one... and we only have three weeks."
"So, what you're telling me, is that it's hopeless?" Amity asked.
"No, what I'm saying is, while you won't master one, you will be able to hit a target with one... seriously, you're four feet away from it, a child could hit the target."
"I've never used one, okay?" Amity said.
"And that's fine, maybe you just aren't meant to use a bow, we'll find the weapon that fits you."
I'm going to be taking a break from the 23 until May 1st. Follow, Favorite, and Review for more.
