Amity and Luz stared at each other. Amity had a sword in her hand, while Luz had her normal weapons. Luz quickly raised her bow and released an arrow. Amity raised the sword and blocked the arrow. Amity picked up the arrow and ran at Luz. Luz easily dodged the lackluster sword strike.
'She's rusty, she relies too much on magic.' Luz thought, 'She'll never survive here if she doesn't learn proper weapon control.'
Amity went to attack again, only for Luz to catch the sword between her hands. She pulled the sword from Amity and quickly turned it so that she was able to hit Amity in the stomach with the sword handle. Amity hunched over and groaned. Luz finished by slamming her knee into Amity's nose. Amity landed on the ground with a groan.
"Wow, you really aren't good with any weapon." Luz said, "That's, what, fifteen times I've beaten you in an hour?"
"Yeah, well, you've been fighting every second of the day, just trying to survive." Amity said, getting up, "It's no surprise that you are good at fighting."
"Yeah, it's the reason I've become strong." Luz said, flexing a little, "I've changed, a lot."
"So have I." Amity said, "Everyone has."
"You haven't changed like I have." Luz said, looking at her finger, "I've changed more than you can imagine."
Amity walked over to Luz and grabbed her hand.
"No matter how much you've changed, you're still Luz, you're still one of the best things to ever happen to me."
"I want to believe you, but I've lost that part of me." Luz said.
"I refuse to believe that." Amity said, "If you really did, you would've killed me the second you saw me, but you didn't."
"I... I just wanted to hear you out." Luz said.
"You fought to protect other creatures on the Knee." Amity said.
"I... was making sure no one could find me."
'Titan why are you so stubborn.' Amity thought.
"Alright then, so, why don't you tell me more about this Slitherbeast?" Amity said, motioning to Blizzard.
"Blizzard?" Luz said, walking over to Blizzard and running a hand over her white fur, "I found her in a poacher camp, I set her free but she kept coming back. I went to a place far away, but she was about to get attacked... I couldn't let her get killed, it wouldn't be right. She was too young, I never could've lived with myself if I let someone get hurt because of me... again."
Blizzard licked Luz, making her laugh. Amity just smiled.
'You risked your life in order to save an animal that could kill you... same old Luz I remember... selfless.' Amity thought, before walking over.
"She's beautiful." Amity said, "Just like her mom."
Luz blushed at this. Since when was Amity so forward? This was the same girl that would blush whenever Luz got near and yes, Luz did finally realize that Amity liked her. When you're alone you have a lot of time to think and she thought about Amity a lot.
"Amity, we can never be together." Luz said, "Not after everything that's happened. I'm too broken."
Amity sighed.
"Luz... you aren't too broken." Amity said, "You don't need to hide from me, you don't need to lie to me, I will be there for you."
Luz looked like she wanted to cry.
"I won't be able to be there for you." Luz said, before walking away.
Amity watched, feeling sad for Luz.
"You're not too broken." Amity said to herself, "I will help put you back together."
In the Castle, the guards were planning on a full-scale attack.
"The prisoner and the witch will be taken out, once and for all!" A guard said.
The other guards cheered, while Willow and Gus just watched. There was something else going on and they were more interested in knowing. They were loyal to Amity, and without her here, they had no ties to anyone.
