Back Home
Damian rubbed his temples in silence, taking several long breaths. He was home. He was on Alderaan with his family for a few days. And stormtroopers had shown up at their house. They weren't looking for Jedi, or illegal weapons. They were just brand new stormtroopers being made to walk from one house to the next to remind everyone about the parade later that day in the city. It wasn't a bad reason to have them show up, but now that they had been there, had seen the Wraith sitting out back, had seen Damian, Ahsoka, and Alina, it wasn't safe to be there anymore.
"We'll just move to Naboo," Ahsoka said.
"Yeah," Damian sighed. "Barriss said she and Riyo will meet us there."
Ahsoka nodded. "So did Jek, Shaeeah, and Enfys."
Damian nodded. They began to take everything they couldn't afford to lose out to the Wraith. They emptied the armory, packed their clothes, and then packed the small odds and ends they wanted to keep. Finally, they took off, Damian sending Organa a message before they jumped to Hyperspace, letting him know what happened. A few hours later, they were offloading their things into their cabin on Naboo. As they finished offloading everything, the others arrived, beginning to help them put it away.
"Hard to believe the day actually came after living there for so long," Barriss said.
"Agreed," Damian nodded. "At least this one's safe."
Everyone nodded, falling silent as they finished unpacking and organizing everything. Finally, Damian sighed, sitting in a chair and tilting his head back, groaning tiredly.
"How is it as exhausting to unpack as it is to fight a Sith Stalker?" Damian asked as everyone sat down, Ahsoka holding Alina.
"Obviously you're doing the fighting all wrong," Enfys said.
Damian grunted, then sighed, lifting his head and looking around.
"What a way to celebrate Empire Day," Ahsoka said.
"Yeah," Damian snorted. "I'm sure the emperor would be so proud of us."
"I wonder if he actually respects you for being such a pain in his ass for so long," Barriss mused.
"I hope to hell not," Damian snorted. "If he doesn't respect me, he'll keep underestimating me. Otherwise, he'd send Darth Vader and a full fleet of star destroyers."
"I suppose," Barriss nodded.
"It's late," Ahsoka said, looking down at Alina, who was asleep. "We should all head to bed."
Everyone agreed and headed to their rooms. Ahsoka gently lay Alina in her crib and climbed into bed, Damian joining her and gently pulling her to himself, curling around her.
"I want to stay longer than a few days," Damian said.
"Then do it," Ahsoka smiled. "They got along just fine without you before. I'm sure they can manage."
Damian sighed, then smiled, squeezing her lightly before kissing the back of her shoulder. "Okay."
Ahsoka smiled, resting her hand over his and allowing herself to drift off to sleep. Damian sighed peacefully and closed his eyes, also drifting off in a few seconds.
Darkness swirled around him like smoke, thick, suffocating, and impossible to see through. He narrowed his eyes.
"Ahsoka!" He called out, his voice echoing loudly. "Barriss! Riyo? Jek! Shaeeah! Enfys! Anyone!?"
Only his echo answered him. He swallowed hard, raising his lightsaber over his head and activating it. The darkness fled from the blade's light like smoke blown away by a strong gust of wind. Before him, images began to flash. Kanan facing the Inquisitor surrounded by darkness, Ezra with darkness radiating from him, shouting about making someone pay, the Ghost Crew being shot at by stormtroopers. The lightsaber flickered and died. he switched it off and on again but nothing happened. He smacked it against his hand and turned it on again. The blade blazed to life again and Damian was greeted by the a flood of flashing images. Stormtroopers shooting, the Ghost crew fleeing. And then corpses. All of them. Even Damian's family. Except, the corpses of his family weren't shot. They were stabbed. Suddenly, the lightsaber died again. He sighed irritably. He needed to see. He had to see what was going to happen. Just as his lightsaber came on again, however, it illuminated the Sith Stalker, lightsaber raised to strike, less than a foot from him.
Damian sat bolt upright, sucking in a long, deep breath in place of screaming, coated in sweat and beginning to pant, looking around quickly. He sighed. That was the weirdest vision he'd ever seen. He sighed, laying back down, and Ahsoka rolled on top of him, looking down at him worriedly.
"Don't worry," Damian smiled. "It was nothing terrible. I saw the Sith Stalker, and the Ghost crew was being shot at again."
Ahsoka nodded. "Should we be worried?"
Damian shook his head. "Nah. I'm sure this vision was just based off of me being afraid of losing you."
Ahsoka nodded, kissing him before setting her head on his chest. Damian sighed, settling back in and drifting off to sleep, this time without any dreams.
The next morning, he woke late, everyone else eating breakfast. He climbed out of bed, walking into the kitchen and getting himself some food, then sat at the table with them, beginning to eat.
"Good morning Sleeping Beauty," Barriss smirked. "How'd you sleep?"
"One bad dream," Damian shrugged. "Pretty good after that."
"I tried to wake you up, but you just rolled over and said you weren't hungry," Ahsoka smiled.
"Sorry," Damian grimaced.
"It's alright," Ahsoka smiled. "You needed rest."
Damian nodded, and they all ate before the others all headed out, leaving the house to Damian, Ahsoka, and Alina. Damian took their daughter for a bit, Alina smiling and grabbing a handful of his shirt, closing her eyes. Damian smiling lovingly down at her before using the Force to pull out his communicator, calling Hera.
"How are the others holding up without me?" Damian asked.
"We're fine" Hera said. "We're dealing with a Rodian the Empire wants right now, but we'll manage."
"Alright," Damian nodded. "I'm going to stay a little longer than I was expecting."
"I thought you might," Hera smirked. "Enjoy yourself. Don't worry about us."
Damian nodded and shut the communicator off, setting it on the table. Ahsoka leaned down and kissed him for a moment before walking past him toward the bathroom.
Damian smiled as he tightened his hold on Ahsoka, Ahsoka pressing her bare skin tighter against his, sighing happily. He really had missed her. It felt like it had been forever since he could spend some time alone with her, even without sex being involved. Ahsoka lightly dragged her fingernails over the skin of his arm and he kissed the back of her neck.
"I'm going to miss this," Damian smiled. "Being able to hold you."
"You mean you'll miss sex," Ahsoka snorted.
"Well, yes, that too," Damian smiled. "But mostly I just miss being able to hold you in my arms and kiss you whenever I feel like it."
Ahsoka smiled, turning her head, Damian meeting her halfway with a kiss before settling back down. "So do I. You know, you don't have to leave yet."
"I know," Damian sighed. "But I should get back to them. I promised to train both of them."
Ahsoka nodded. "Tomorrow. Today I want to stay like this."
Damian nodded, kissing the back of her neck again. "Deal."
