Maylis Alivia Porier, Victor of the 30th Annual Hunger Games

"I think he did it but I just can't prove it"
I think he did it but I just can't prove it
I think he did it but I just can't prove it
No, no body, no crime
But I ain't letting up until the day I die
No, no
I think he did it
No, no
He did it

March 12th, 31 A.D.D.

1 year after the 30th Annual Hunger Games

District 7, Victor's Village

"Maylis! I've got you a present!" I hear Heath call up from downstairs. He had just came home from the shopping mall within District 7.

I was combing my hair and putting on my makeup in the upstairs bathroom. This was the first time I did my hair and makeup since my victory tour. I looked in the mirror and smiled to see my baby bump. Me and my boyfriend, Olive are expecting a baby boy. I didn't expect to be a mother so early on in my life. It just kinda...happened. Nonetheless we are both excited to care for this baby boy. We both decided to name him after a late someone who meant so much to me, Conleth. Conleth protected me in that horrid arena, and helped me become who I am today. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here right now. I've tried my best to avoid the Capitol media, but it's like an infection. It'll catch up to you eventually.

"Be right down!" I called from the bathroom as I finished doing my hair and makeup. Today is my baby shower, and I need to look my best.

As I walked downstairs, Heath held a light blue box with a blue ribbon wrapped around it.

"How do I look?" I asked swirling around in my dress.

"You look amazing sis. I got you a baby gift for little Conleth" Heath tells me with a smile as he softly handed me the wrapped box.

"You did?" I asked as I began unwrapping the bow and opening the box.

Inside the box was a blue baby shirt and tiny blue socks that stated "Mommy's and Daddy's Little Angel". I smiled brightly as I held the gift to my chest.

"Thank you so much Heath. This means so much to me." I began to tear up and hug Heath.

"You deserve it sis. You don't have to thank me." He says smiling as he hugged me.

When I let go the door opened and Olive walked into the room. Olive had just returned from the wood factory where they make most of District's 7 and the Capitol's furniture. He held a gift in his hand too, this gift was in a huge blue box.

"Hey babe, is that for me?" I asked smiling as I kissed him.

"Of course my love, open it and see what I got for our little angel." Olive smiled at me as I began to unwrap the box ribbon.

Inside the box was a tiny rocking chair with the name "Conleth" encrusted on it. It was so adorable, and I loved it so much.

"Babe- did you make this?" I asked as tears came down my cheeks.

"Yes I did. It took me a few days, and I think it came out alright." Olive says as He pulls the chair out and sets in it the living room by the fireplace.

"It's perfect babe, you did so amazing. Thank you so much for this." I cried joyfully as I kissed him.

"You deserve it honey, you mean everything to us." Olive says as he kisses my forehead and hugs me.

"When are the guest going to arrive? It's almost time for the baby shower." I tell Olive and Heath as I looked at the clock across from me.

"They should be here within the next ten minutes. I'm going to go pick up your sisters from school now, so I might be a little late. I hope that's ok sis." Heath tells me as he grabbed his car keys.

"Oh no, that's perfectly fine. Go ahead and go now if you like." I smiled as I hugged him goodbye.

"Alright, I'll see you in a bit." Heath responses as he hugged me and turns to open the front door and leave.

As he left, I turned towards Olive and held his hand and smiled at him. No matter what happens, we both will do whatever it takes to care for this baby with all our love and hearts. We would heart a knock on the door to see Melanie as we smiled at each other.

"Melanie! Come on in!" I ushered her in cheerfully.

"Maylis! I'm son happy so finally see you again. I took time off work to come to this baby shower just for you." Melanie stepped into the house and closed the door behind her with a smile.

"It's been what, 5 months? How have you been Melanie?" I asked as I poured her a cup of sweet tea.

"Oh you know the usual. I've been chosen to escort District 7 again, and been modeling in the Capitol. What about you, besides the pregnancy of course." Melanie says as she sipped the tea politely.

"Nothing much to be honest." I say after thinking for a second.

"That's good my dear, I'm glad everything has been going wonderful for you." Melanie says with a bright smile.

"Thank you Melanie, you've always been there for me." I tell her as I hugged her.

"No problem my dear!" She responses with a smile as she hugs me.

I looked out the window to see several cars pulling forward up to my driveway.

"It looks like the guest are starting to arrive." I smiled as I stood up and brushed my dress off.

"You ready honey?" Olive askes me as he wraps his arms around me.

"I've always been ready." I smiled.
