Coincidental Meeting
Damian nuzzled his face into Ahsoka's neck, kissing her skin gently. She sighed contentedly, tucking her face into his shoulder. A full day of doing absolutely nothing but taking care of Alina, and having sex. Damian couldn't have asked for a better day off.
"We're due for an interruption," Ahsoka finally said.
"I'm hoping our luck decides to be nice today," Damian said.
Someone knocked urgently on the door.
"Dammit," Damian sighed. "I'll get it."
Ahsoka nodded and Damian slipped out of bed, getting dressed quickly while Ahsoka pulled on a thin nightgown and pulled the sheets up over herself. Damian opened the door, finding Kanan standing there, off to the side where he wouldn't be able to see into the room.
"Sorry to interrupt," Kanan said. "Ezra and the others just got back. He said they fought two Inquisitors. And that they knew about Ahsoka and Barriss."
Damian nodded. "After the three of us going up against Sith Stalkers together for so long, I'm not surprised. Thanks for the heads up. We'll be over in a little while to discuss what to do next."
Kanan nodded and walked away. Damian shut the door and turned to Ahsoka, who was getting ready for a shower. He took off his clothes and joined her, taking the time to go one last round before they both cleaned up. Then, he got dressed in a fresh set of clothes, consisting of a tight black shirt with three-quarter sleeves, his Mandalorian chest plate, loose blue pants, and his boots, then turned to see if Ahsoka was dressed yet. He raised an eyebrow as he did. It wasn't her usual outfit. This time, she pulled on a tight, sleeveless, grey top that was open to her waist in the front and back both, allowing him a generous view of her cleavage, a matching grey skirt with an inverted, egg-shaped piece of cloth in the front, back, and sides, skin-tight grey leggings, and grey boots. He loved the outfit.
"What do you think?" Ahsoka asked, turning to let him inspect the back as well, Damian seeing her lightsabers in a pair of dark grey, magnetic sleeves in the back, as opposed to hanging from the sides, like his was.
"I like it," Damian grinned, walking over and pulling her against him by the hips, kissing her. "But it's going to be very distracting."
Ahsoka smiled. "I'm just glad I was able to use the Force to get rid of the extra weight I gained during pregnancy, along with the stretch marks."
"I wouldn't have minded," Damian smiled.
"No, but I did," Ahsoka said. "Besides, you know you enjoy the fact that I made myself tight again."
"Guilty as charged," Damian smiled. "Come on. We need to get to work."
Ahsoka nodded, kissing him one more time before stepping around him and heading for the door. He followed her, the two of them heading to the Ghost and sitting down.
"How many Inquisitors are there?" Kanan asked.
"A lot," Damian said. "I'm not sure the actual count since a lot of them are dead, but there are a lot of them. The one you killed was the Grand Inquisitor, the leader. That's not to say he was the strongest, though. Only the first."
Kanan nodded. "Do you know which these are?"
"Not without asking them," Damian said. "I only knew the last was the Grand Inquisitor because We, as Fulcrum, heard about him once."
"I see," Kanan said. "What should we do?"
"We'll have to be extremely careful," Damian said. "And I'll have to get back to training Ezra with a lightsaber. He'll need to be as good as he can possibly be if he's got two after him now."
"What about the others?" Kanan asked. "Will they send more Sith Stalkers after you? Or a lot of Inquisitors?"
"I think there's only the one Sith Stalker left, but we will most likely see him again, yes," Damian nodded. "As for Inquisitors, maybe. We'll just have to wait and see."
Kanan nodded. "So, what do we do now?"
"Now we get training," Damian said. "We've got a long way to go before you and Ezra are able to handle two Inquisitors at the same time, so we're going to work hard to get you there."
Kanan nodded and stood, leaving to get Ezra as Damian and Ahsoka headed to the cargo bay to wait.
Damian scrubbed at the Ghost's hull in silence. Ezra and Chopper were also cleaning the ship, Chopper with a torch and Ezra by sitting down and complaining about having to try to balance cleaning the Ghost with both lightsaber training with Damian and Kanan and blaster training with Rex.
"Your lightsaber training needs to be priority, because you can't use a blaster on those two Inquisitors that are chasing you," Damian said.
Ezra sighed. "I kind of miss the old days when everything was simpler."
"Tell me about it," Damian sighed. "I haven't had a simple life since the Empire started. I used to be a smuggler and thief. And I was good at it. I wasn't a Jedi, I wasn't being hunted by Sith Stalkers, and I didn't care what anyone thought. Those were the good old days. Of course, I'd never trade a day of being with Ahsoka for a lifetime of that life. But it was still fun."
"It sounds it," Ezra agreed. "That sounds like the life."
"You have the heart of a smuggler," Damian said. "That's not necessarily a good thing."
"Why not?" Ezra asked.
"Because smuggler's aren't good people," Damian said.
"You're a good person," Ezra countered.
"I'm not a smuggler anymore," Damian said simply. "At the time, I didn't care about anything beyond my next drink, payday, and the next chick I fucked. Literally. I didn't care about anything but myself. I was more upset about blacking out and not remembering fucking a pair of virgin, lesbian twins than I was about one of my supposed friends from the crew I was with dying a few days earlier. I was a piece of shit, no questions asked. But I was looking for something, even without realizing it. My life was empty. Fun, but empty. And I didn't really know what I was looking for until I met Ahsoka. What I had wanted was a connection. A real connection. People aren't meant to live a life solely for themselves. I didn't really learn that lesson until it was too late. I had fallen for Ahsoka, but I was such a piece of shit that even though I loved her, I still fucked any chick I could get my dick into, and it hurt her. And it hurt me. The more I did it, the more I hated myself, and tried to drown myself in liquor. Eventually, I lost everything. But Ahsoka saved me. She decided to give me another chance, and I swore that no matter what happened, I'd live my life for her instead."
"Sounds like you've had an eventful life," Ezra said.
"You have no idea," Damian sighed. "Now come on. You're supposed to be cleaning too."
Ezra sighed but nodded, beginning to clean just as Chopper began to freak out, claiming to have intercepted a distress signal.
"This is the Broken Horn," a voice said from Chopper suddenly.
"Broken Horn?" Ezra asked.
"We require assistance," the voice said.
"That's Vizago's ship!" Ezra recalled.
"We have a job to do," Damian said. "But, on the other hand, we do usually help people in need. Plus, Vizago might have something useful."
Ezra grinned. "Let's go!"
The three of them headed into the ship, Ahsoka meeting them inside, raising an eyebrow.
"Aren't you supposed to be cleaning the ship, Ezra?" Ahsoka asked.
"Vizago's sending out a distress signal," Damian said. "Ezra still owes Vizago a favor from helping us find Kanan after he was captured, so we're going to go settle that debt."
Ahsoka sighed. "I have a bad feeling about this," Ahsoka sighed. "Alright. Be careful."
"I will," Damian said, kissing her, then kissing Alina. "We'll be back soon. I promise."
Ahsoka nodded and they headed into the Phantom, Damian piloting it away from the planet. As they flew toward the ship, Chopper began to mouth off.
"No, I am not running away from my problems," Ezra said, referring to telling Damian, Kanan, and Rex that he didn't want to be a Jedi or soldier earlier. "I am simply helping someone else with their problems. There's a difference."
"Broken Horn, this is Wraith, do you read?" Damian asked. "Broken Horn, this is Wraith, are you there?"
"Something's wrong?" Ezra said.
"Chopper, are you picking up any power readings from the ship?" Damian asked, receiving Chopper's beeps and tones back. "Yeah, me neither. Ezra, be ready for anything. We're going in."
Ezra nodded and Damian flew up to an airlock, docking to the larger ship before they headed over into Vizago's, Damian wearing his Juggernaut helmet and Ezra his painted Imperial Academy cadet one. As they walked through the darkened corridors of the ship, Damian kept his blaster ready, Ezra holding his lightsaber in his hands. After a few minutes, Damian rounded a corner and stopped, holding out a hand to stop Ezra before he could walk into the same droid Damian almost had. It was a tall, broad droids that looked like more armored versions of security droids with conical heads.
"They're shut off," Ezra said, looking past the droid. "Something is definitely not right."
Damian looked as well and saw the two dozen or so droids lining the hallway. He narrowed his eyes. He new that positioning. A grin slowly grew on his face.
"It can't be," Damian said, walking past the droid he'd almost run into, Ezra following.
"What?" Ezra asked.
"Come on," Damian said. "I think I know what's going on."
"Care to fill me in?" Ezra asked.
"Not until I'm sure," Damian said.
Ezra sighed, following Damian past the droids to the cockpit, finding two more inside the door. Damian grinned widely as he listened to the God awful music he knew he would find.
"Vizago?" Ezra asked. "Vizago is that you?"
The person working on the underside of the control panel stood. "Uh, not exactly." He paused the music, grinning. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am-"
"Hondo Ohnaka," Damian smirked. "Finally. Your days of running are over, you filthy pirate trash."
Hondo's eyes widened. That had been what a very old rival of Hondo's had always called him whenever he found Hondo to try and kill him.
"But...how?" Hondo breathed. "You died! I blew up your ship!"
"Did you?" Damian asked, reaching up and pulling off his helmet. "Or did you give me a new one?"
"Damian!" Hondo shouted happily. "Little Damian! You are alive!"
"Oh cut the 'Little Damian' crap Hondo," Damian said, rolling his eyes. "I'm not a child anymore."
"But you still look so young!" Hondo said. "All these years and you've barely aged a day!"
"That's thanks to the Force," Damian said. "I thought you were dead."
"And I you," Hondo said. "But, your family. Did you ever make things right?"
"Yeah," Damian nodded. "Ahsoka and I are married now. And we've got a daughter that you are absolutely never allowed to meet."
Hondo laughed. "A wise decision my friend. Very wise. And who is your young friend?"
"This is Jaden Lao," Damian said, Ezra glancing at him. "He's like an...understudy of mine."
"Oh I see," Hondo said, then laughed. "If only we still had the old gang. We could have a welcoming party for him." He laughed again before trailing off, sighing heavily. "I used to be a captain, once. Damian was akin to my successor. But...then the Empire came."
"What happened?" Ezra asked.
"They killed everyone," Damian said, he and Hondo both suddenly seeming ancient and tired. "We were the only survivors."
"How is the Wraith?" Hondo asked, trying to lighten the mood again. "Is she still flying?"
"Of course," Damian said. "You know I always take care of my ship. She's as amazing now as she was when you finished her upgrades. She's saved my family's lives many times."
Hondo nodded. "That's good. you've suffered enough."
"So, let me guess, you cheated Vizago at Sabacc and took his ship and droids?" Damian asked.
"Indeed I did," Hondo said. "Eh, but the ship is currently...inoperative."
"Jaden, see what you can do," Damian said, Ezra nodding and ducking under the panel. "In the mean time, Hondo, we can discuss your payment for our help."
"Oh, you wound me so," Hondo said. "I am so proud of you. Once a pirate always a pirate."
"I was never a pirate," Damian said. "I'm a Jedi now. And a rebel. But I'm still trained as a smuggler and swindler, thanks to you, so my assistance isn't free. What've you got?"
"I can give you two droids," Hondo offered.
"You've got twenty four, and they're all useless to me," Damian said. "I have PROXY droids."
"You have PROXY droids!?" Hondo gaped. "But how? I thought they were just a rumor!"
"Nope," Damian said. "They're real. Dulheif Ghaar had the first one I saw."
"That bastard," Hondo growled. "I heard he once employed Jek and Shaeeah."
"He did," Damian said. "And I finally managed to make him pay dearly for it."
"Along with the Toonee Clan, I hear," Hondo said. "Well done. I did not think I'd ever hear of the Fardi leaving their world to help someone, least of all you."
"It was a...special situation," Damian said. "Anyway, back to the subject of your payment."
"Ah, yes," Hondo said. "I almost forgot."
"I'm sure,"Damian smirked. "You are getting older."
"Oh, you wound me again," Hondo said. "I have a stock of Rodian Spice Liquor."
"I don't drink anymore," Damian said.
"Oh, I am so proud of you!" Hondo smiled.
Just then, the console lit up with an alert just as an Imperial Light Frigate dropped out of Hyperspace. Damian swore, pulling on his helmet, motioning for Hondo to answer.
"Uh, hello," Hondo greeted them. "How can we help you?"
"Attention transport, you have breached an Imperial checkpoint," a voice said.
Hondo shut off the communicator. "Hyperspace would be good."
Damian switched the communicator on. "We apologize for your checkpoint. Our ship had some trouble and lost power, so we've been drifting while we try to repair it."
"Standby to be boarded," the voice said, all of the cruiser's turrets aimed at them. "We'll be inspecting your ship to verify your situation."
"Understood," Damian said. "Standing by." He switched off the communicator and looked to Ezra. "Almost done down there?"
"Almost," Ezra said. "I think I got it!"
Just then, Chopper cam in, shouting at them about them always causing trouble, then jacked himself into the ship.
"Well Damian, it looks like we are off on another adventure!" Hondo smiled, just as Chopper jumped to Hyperspace.
Damian groaned, setting his face in his hand. "Ahsoka's going to kill me."
Hondo laughed. "Yes, she probably will. So, while you're here, would you care to help me with a little job? I am getting old, and it is not so easy to push crates."
"Crates of what?" Ezra asked.
Chopper activated a hologram of power generators, exactly the kind they needed.
"Whoa, power generators?" Ezra asked. "These are incredibly hard to find. Expensive too."
"Which is why we shall sell them at a fair mark up," Hondo said. "Five hundred percent."
"Good idea," Damian nodded. "But I'm taking half."
Hondo's jaw dropped. "Half? but...my friend, that is hardly fair."
"Without us, you'd have been blown to hell by the Empire," Damian said.
"But half is five crates," Hondo said. "No deal. You can have two crates."
"Three crates, and we split the profit of the rest sixty forty," Damian said.
"Twenty eighty," Hondo said.
"Seventy thirty," Damian said.
"Deal," Hondo said, shaking his hand, then paused, sighing. "You are as good a negotiator as you ever were."
"I'm glad you think so, because I'm also taking six droids for the trouble this is about to cause between me and Ahsoka," Damian said.
"What!?" Hondo shouted. "That is hardly fair!"
"Would you prefer to explain to Ahsoka that this was all pure coincidence?" Damian offered.
Hondo hesitated. "Six droids it is."
Damian nodded, smirking. "Chopper, go check the programming of the droids closest to the ship and make sure they're not violent."
Chopper agreed and left the cockpit, Damian sitting in the copilot's seat. As he did, Hondo wrapped an arm around Ezra's shoulders.
"Jaden, you are in good hands," Hondo said as Ezra swiped the remote for the other droids. "Damian is the best I ever saw, well, besides me, of course."
"I'm sure," Ezra said as Hondo walked out of the cockpit as well. "Think this'll come in handy if Hondo gives us trouble?"
"He won't," Damian said. "Hondo razed me like I was his son. Not entirely a good thing, but if nothing else he is generally a man of his word once a deal's been struck. Usually."
"I'm holding on to this," Ezra said.
"Oh, by all means," Damian said. "And keep your lightsaber close too."
Ezra nodded. "I'm going to pass the controller off to Chopper."
Damian nodded and Ezra left. Damian turned back to the front to wait, sighing heavily. Ahsoka was going to be mad.
