Law of Gravity

Damian sighed tiredly as he stepped off the Wraith, watching their two new Zeltron allies greet the three women Damian and Ezra had recruited from Azmorigan's ship. He'd agreed to start training Zera properly in a couple days. For now, he wanted to rest and make sure Ahsoka was really okay. Ahsoka being so determined to bring someone else in, a concept that she had been so vehemently against for the entirety of their relationship, to his knowledge, was beginning to worry him.

"What's up?" Ashoka asked, slipping her hand into his.

"Nothing," Damian smiled. "I'm just looking forward to having a few days of keeping you all to myself."

Ahsoka smiled, kissing him, only for someone to clear their throat. They both looked over at a rebel trooper.

"Sorry, but we need Commander Shan," the trooper said.

"What's up?" Damian asked.

"Commander Sato has been captured by the Imperials, along with Ezra Bridger," the trooper said. "I was told to ask you to meet up with Kanan Jarrus and Captain Rex on Garel for a rescue operation."

Damian sighed. "Right. I'll handle it."

The trooper saluted and walked away.

"Hurry back," Ahsoka smiled. "I'll be waiting."

Damian nodded, smiling and kissing her, then turned and walked back into the Wraith. Once the ramp was closed, Damian flew back out of the hangar and jumped to Garel. He landed one hangar over from the Ghost and left to meet up with Kanan and Rex, R3 taking the Wraith back to the fleet. Once Damian reached the Ghost, he found Kanan and Rex wearing Stormtrooper armor, Rex having a third suit sitting beside him. Damian groaned, pulling the armor on quickly, then nodded to the others, following them to an Imperial shuttle. They left the planet and Damian waited in the cargo bay, meditating, while Rex and Kanan flew. It had been a while since he'd meditated, before his time off with Ahsoka had started, so it felt good to connect to the Force again.

"We're through," Rex's voice said over the intercom after nearly an hour. "Stand by to board."

"Ready when you are," Damian said, standing and attaching his lightsaber to the back of his belt in a fusion cutter sleeve, the weapon being able to pass as a fancy fusion cutter, though, to his displeasure, he'd had to leave his blaster behind with Sabine for the mission.

As they walked toward the door out of the hangar, a pair of Stormtroopers stepped forward to stop them, only for Kanan to quickly use a mind trick to get them through. A short way down the hallway from there, they found an access point Chopper could use to find Ezra.

"Try to hurry," Damian said. "They'll probably have called Kallus by now."

Kanan nodded in agreement. After a moment, Chopper unplugged, reporting Ezra was being transferred to a secure cell.

"They definitely know who he is," Damian said, looking around. "You two go get him. I'll sabotage the gravity well and meet you back at the shuttle. Or I'll steal another ride."

Kanan and Rex nodded and left with Chopper, Damian heading the other way. After a couple of minutes, he reached the reactor core and stopped, looking around at the technicians working the controls. He thought for a moment before smirking and walking over to one of them.

"What are you doing here?" the technician asked.

"The reactor is going to explode," Damian said, lifting a hand.

"The reactor is going to explode," the technician parroted.

"The controls are reversed," Damian said. "You can fix the problem if you overload the reactor."

"The controls are reversed," the technician repeated. "I can fix the problem if I overload the reactor."

Damian nodded and shoved his hand forward, sending the same brainwashing into the minds of all of the other technicians. For a moment, they all stood motionless as the control took effect, then began to panic, frantically pressing buttons and pulling levers. Damian turned, hurrying out of the room.

He activated his commlink as he ran. "Kanan, the reactor's going to overload and self destruct. We've got about five minutes to bug out."

"Understood," Kanan said. "We're almost to Sato."

Damian disconnected, rounding a corner and slowing to a walk as he passed a couple of officers and a Stormtrooper commander. At the last second, a hand grabbed his shoulder.

"You're not supposed to be here!" one of the officers said.

Damian spun, blasting all four of them and killing them, then turned and ran away from the area, making it to the hangar before he met anyone. He headed into the shuttle and waited at the top of the ramp. However, as the fourth minute began to approach, his commlink went off.

"Damian, take the shuttle and leave," Kanan said. "Ezra's got everyone on Sato's ship, and me and Rex have another way off of the ship."

Damian closed his eyes, sensing their location, finding them near the escape pods, then ran to the pilot's seat, taking off and flying away from the ship. After a few seconds, he saw Sato's ship flying away from the ship, along with an escape pod. He headed to the escape pod, picking up Kanan and Rex, then headed for Sato's ship, the three of them ditching the shuttle. Then, just as they reached the cockpit of the shuttle, the cruiser erupted into a massive blue fireball in space, the blast also obliterating the two light cruisers to either side of the ship.

"Pilot, make the jump," Sato said.

The pilot jumped without further order and Damian sighed.

"Finally I can take off this God awful, useless armor," Damian said. "I mean really, do they have this just for show or something?"

"Basically," Rex said, already halfway out of his armor.

Damian shook his head, stripping the armor off quickly, leaving himself in his usual uniform, and a little while later, they reached Garel again, Damian and the others switching to the Ghost before Damian headed home again.
