Training Day two! Today's povs will be focused on Corduroy, Marilla, Otis! Let's check in how day two is for them!
Corduroy Jett Duo, District 8 Female
"You got this Charlotte." I calmly tell her as she picked up a knife, ready to throw it at a dummy ten feet away from where we stood.
"Ok, three…two…one…" Charlotte calmly tells herself and throws the knife towards the target with all her strength, managing to hit dummy in the right arm.
"That was good Charlotte. Definitely a good start." I smiled at her.
"Thanks babe." Charlotte says and blushes.
"Are you ready to practice with plant knowledge?" I asked as I took Charlotte's knife out of the foam dummy and placed it back onto the table.
"I've never been more ready!" She says with a grin.
"Alright then let's head over to the station." I say with a nod and walked down to the plant identification station.
"Ready Charlotte? I'm setting the timer now. We'll do an easy prep round for now." I tell her as I set easy mode up with a thirty second timer.
"Ready." Charlotte says.
"Then go!" I say with a grin and pressed the start button.
Charlotte started pairing each plants into categories, most of them were annual plants which grew every seasons in Panem. She finished pairing them with three seconds to spare.
"Great job Charlotte!" I say and kissed her cheek.
"Thank you." She says with her cheeks blushing and kisses me back on the cheek.
"Now it's my turn." I smiled as I reset the timer and station before pressing the start button.
I started to pair the plants one by one, and before I knew it I finished with only five seconds to spare.
"Great job babe!" Charlotte says with a clap.
"Thank you. Now, let's go practice something else shall we?" I say with a big smile.
Marilla Ragna, District 4 Female
"You got this." I whispered to myself as I picked up my trident and prepared to throw it.
"Here we go." I thought to myself as I threw the trident at the foam dummy with all my might: piercing it through the skull.
"Yes!" I cheered loudly, but remembered other people were training and silenced myself.
"Good job, Marila?" A mellifluous voice tells me from behind.
"Thank you." I turned around to see Head Gamemaker, Valentina. This was her second year as head gamemaker. She is particularly amongst the most favorite heads due to the major success of the games last year.
"So what do you need?" I asked.
"Nothing. I just want to compliment talent when I see it." She says with a smile.
"Well thanks I guess." I sighed as she walked away. I didn't really know how to respond to that. I wasn't never really good at responding compliments because mostly I never gave them out.
I can just think of how my family is feeling right now. I didn't listen to them when I was younger. They didn't want me to train, but I wanted to. Do I have my regrets? Yes, but I will get back home to them.
I retrieve my trident from the foam dummy and prepared to throw it one more time.
Otis Lavash, District 9 Male
"Damn it!" I groaned as I missed my target.
"You really need to get better at that." I thought to myself as I ran over to retrieve my sickle.
"Hey Otis, let's try something different that weaponry. We want to improve our skills correct?" Bo walked over to me, leaving Salem to practice with her knife by herself.
"But I want to try to become good with my sickle." I say with a frown.
"I know Otis, but you aren't making much progress and we need to practice other things. We don't have much time left." Bo says with a sigh.
Even though I didn't want to her to be right, she was. I haven't made any progress with my weaponry skills. What I could do best was agility obstacle courses and climbing.
"You're right. Let's go practice some fire making and go to the obstacle course." i responded as I placed the sickle back on the table.
"Alright then let's go." Bo says with a smile and turns towards Salem. "Salem will you like to practice on the obstacle course with us?" She asks her.
"No thanks, guys. I already practiced that earlier today. I'll stick with practicing with my knife now."
"Alright." I say walking towards the obstacle course.
I began to run through the course as we practiced.
This was a shorter chapter for sure. I'm sorry to Shadow that Kiera wasn't shown this chapter. I changed my mind last minute, however Kiera will for sure be featured on the third day! Anyways thanks for reading!
